Older hotel. Our room lacked several of the promised amenities like furniture and refrigerator. A/C blew straight onto the our heads onto the pillow leaving the option only to turn it off and be too hot to sleep. Desk was unsypmpathetic and unhelpful. One in particular just said if you had booked one of our higher level rooms, then you would have had all this when website said the opposite. Dining was largely by reservation only without notice and very expensive. Bellmen were very helpful in directing us to other options in walking distance and also letting us know which directions not to walk in for safety sake.
Cons. Old and rundown. Rooms need updating, lenins need to be replaced, etc.
Pros. The hotel has some beautiful touches with the music at dinner, Christmas decor and elegance.
Cons. For the price of the hotel the room’s cleanliness could be improved upon. I found a hair in the bed and when asking the hotel staff to change the sheets they indicated it wa my own. It was not until I mentioned the different color and consistency that they sent someone up. The person they sent clearly had never made a bed before. Also the decor seems outdated teetering on the edge of almost eu Ned down.

I would think that booking large groups of children would not be common place in this hotel as it appeals mainly to adults and the noise from kids works against the atmosphere.
Pros. The staff was superb. Service was impeccable. The facilities were very clean. The beds were comfortable. We enjoyed every aspect of the Brown Hotel. A hot brown for breakfast at the J. Graham's Cafe was the perfect ending to our stay. Loved it!
Cons. The only thing that I did not like was the fact that we could not go into the clubhouse because we were not a member.
