Pros: Both the building and the location were amazing. Frederique and Christophe were very friendly and helpful hosts and provided a truly delicious breakfast eaten with other guests around the kitchen table. The rooms are decorated in quite an eccentric style which is also very romantic. We had the suite which had a cherub theme. As the nearby restaurant was closed, we were invited to take food to eat in the garden which has breathtaking views over the valley and the mountains beyond. Our hosts happily supplied plates and wine glasses! Highly recommended.

Pros: • Owners were very friendly and hospitable • Owner speaks English very well and supplied us with tips and suggestions for things to do in the region (beaches, hiking trails, restaurants, etc.) • Delicious breakfast including some home made treats varying on a daily basis • Beautiful sunsets can be enjoyed from the furnished garden • The hot tub/jacuzzi, that can be used free of charge after prior reservation, is a great way to relax after a day of hiking

Pros: The location was perfect. The view from the accommodation is unbelievable. And the wee village is great for a morning or evening stroll. The hosts were very welcoming. The room was very large and the bed was very very comfortable. The communal breakfast table where there was the chance to meet the other guests was excellent.

Cons: There was no door on the toilet, simply a curtain, which upset my partner very much. The room was decorated in a very idiosyncratic manner which was not relevant to the wonderful setting of the accommodation nor added to the comfort of the room. A plainer room could have been more in keeping with the style of the house and been more relaxing. Still it does make for an interesting and memorable stay. Host places a very strong emphasis on the house rules. Almost to the point that the rules are more important than the guests. However they were not a problem - more the perception.

Pros: This is now maybe the favourite place I have stayed at. We loved it. Beautiful location, beautiful house and brilliant hosts.

Pros: We arrived after a hard days cycling to this quite remote spot and it was great to find ourselves in a warm place with generous hot water, towels and dressing gowns. The next door restaurant which we had been told would definitely be open was in fact unexpectedly closed. We were given a delicious supper of omelettes , salad and wine and felt much better! Breakfast the next morning was fantastic and just what we needed before getting on the bikes again.

Pros: This place is beautiful, exactly what we were looking for. Amazing scenery, beautiful room, lovely garden and the hosts are super helpful and friendly! The hot tub is also great and we the place has a lovely garden from which you can enjoy the sunset over the mountains. There is a local restaurant few minutes away (walking distance), but it is a good idea to bring food/drinks and keep it in the fridge in the common area.

Pros: This is a charming place. We used it after arriving in Corsica because it is close to the airport. We received a small wooden cottage with sleeping area and bathroom. Satisfactory standard - especially for one night. Very good breakfast and friendly service. There is also a small pool, we had no chance to use it, because we were there only one night.

Cons: small things such as doors that don't close, moisture at the cottage , etc.

Pros: It was our second time there, and equally nice. The property is very close to the airport, the beach is nearby and quiet, breakfast was very good.

Cons: Seems to be normal everywhere in Corsica but I find check-in time from 4 pm only a bit too late.

Pros: It was too good to be a b&b where one stays on the way to and from the airport. Could have stayed there a couple of nights for sure. Very nice swimming pool area, very relaxing and quite. We had a nice room with a jacuzzi. Didn't go to the beach as it was raining. There's a supermarket with a very good sortiment 7 min away by car. One can borrow glasses, cutlery etc in the kitchen and have a nice dinner by the pool. Good breakfast. Owner speaks good English. There's a little cute dog running around. Lots of toys for kids to play at the pool.

Cons: A little bit hard to find. The tag on the map is set at the other entrance facing the main road. You need to drive inside the little community and access the house from there. Look for "La villa" signs.

Pros: A very very nice place to stay. The host is very friendly, it was like staying at grandma's:) And the breakfast was excellent. We were sorry that we only stayed there for one night prior to an early flight.

Pros: Comfortable, clean room, quiet, larger than most, balcony overlooking the garden. Secure locks on doors, roller doors allowed adequate light in when up, and complete darkness for sleeping. Kettle in the room for coffee/tea was a huge plus, and something I didn't see often in other hotels in Corsica. Bed was large and comfortable. Working air conditioning system. Staff were friendly, check in/out was efficient. Superb location if you need to get to/from the airport - less than 5 mins drive or 20 minute walk.

Pros: We were supposed to arrive late (last flight) so we took a hotel close to airport for our first night. But we arrived around noon due to a flight change... no problem at all for the SUPER nice lady at the reception! Room was spacious, breakfast was superb! Fresh, home made and delicious! A great welcome to Corsica in all possible ways!

Pros: The staff was really friendly and helpful. The room was quite big, nicely decorated and comfortable. The way to the airport by car took us 5 minutes (2 km). Very convenient location to stay for the last night in Corsica if your floght is from Bastia airport.

Pros: Great for the airport, lovely staff (note that only the receptionist speaks English). There was a high hedge on the side of the road so we didn't have to look at the building site next door. Little patio outside the room was also lovely. And the breakfast had a huuuuge array of home made cakes!

Cons: It's an airport hotel, the pictures of things like the swimming pool are misleading. You wouldn't want to stay for an entire holiday, it's far away from a lot of things apart from the airport, and it's not exactly picturesque.

Pros: Really convenient for the airport but no access to restaurants or other facilities, except for a hotel 5 mins down the road, which didn't look inspiring. Food options are limited in any case. The pool area was good.

Pros: Beautiful village. A lovely old,character house and large suite of rooms. Worth a visit despite the illusive Pimpernel ( the owner) whom we only met briefly upon arrival.

Pros: We adored U Casone, from the dramatic setting in a beautiful ancient hill top village, to the wonderful host, to the incredible views, to the amazing building itself and friendly locals. A privilege to stay here.

Pros: Breakfast was OK, bread and croissants with ham,cheese, fruit and yoghurt. Bedroom was fine, individually adjustable bed, plenty of space, and view overlooking mountains/Bastia from one window. Peaceful location. The old building is well maintained and has interesting furniture and artifacts.

Cons: Parking was not always available near the hotel, or a tight squeeze/blocked in due to limited parking in the old village, especially when returning in the evenings. Very limited English spoken. No-one seemed to be around for most of the time apart from breakfast to ask anything. Not much information provided on local activities, and one restaurant had closed down earlier than usual, leaving a pizza and a tapas type restaurant within walking distance. Lack of a hairdryer and the toiletries limited to a bottle of liquid soap was disappointing considering the 4 star rating this has.

Cons: To start, I am reviewing this as a 4* hotel and I am a very experienced traveller. The building was fantastic and the rooms beautifully appointed with antique furniture and wall hangings. There is no lift so if you are infirmed then it's not for you... The Spa bath in the room didn't work and when I went down to speak to staff there was nobody around. I went down to reception a number of times that evening and it was deserted. Then on the second night there was no hot water and again no staff to resolve the issue. I appreciate the fact that it was low season, however, what happens when there is a fire or an incident. I finally found a guy who I wasn't sure actually worked there or not... I was told I had to have breakfast at 9am which I was OK with but unusual for a 4*. The welcome drink didn't happen. The elderly lady who was present on our arrival was charming but didn't fully grasp why we were there. We then didn't see anyone for the rest of the evening. The access to the executive lounge??? Where was that??? No one showed us. No WiFi. The bathroom was great however there was an old bottle of shower gel used by someone else and the small bowl of Bath salts had big finger marks in it which put us off a bit. Lots of hair in the bath. No hot water in the room on the second night and after numerous trips down the 4 flights of stairs to find any staff had to use a shower in the empty room next door... No access to refreshments in the hotel. Tea or water. Breakfast was very basic. No eggs or anything hot. Couldn't find staff on the first morning and the other four guests (a single family) had clearly been at breakfast for a while. A toaster was present but no bread. Stale cereal which had clearly been there a while and old fruit in the bowl. (Wrinkled apples). There was cake which was a bit aged. Baguette was warm and fresh but if you didn't eat that then you were a bit stuck. It was all a bit of an after thought.

Pros: We used the hotel for its proximity to the airport for our early morning flight from Bastia. The staff were helpful. The shower room and separate WC clean .

Cons: I got the wrong impression of the hotel from photograph of the swimming pool even with the knowledge of the closeness of the location to the airport. The hotel was like a motel and was large enough to have business events even weddings. We could not see the swimming pool at all and had to leave too early to have breakfast. Our room was hidden from a huge industrial complex by trees and below was a service road for the motel so not very quiet! The air conditioning unit was noisy though adequate! I’m sure the hotel fit the bill for business clients and it seemed fairly full to us. But it didn’t fit our expectations. Our impression was a small quiet establishment surrounded by a garden with a swimming pool. We should have opted for a hotel on the airport site ( where in fact we had breakfast ).

The place has a very sophisticated feel but I was still treated like a gentleman in my hiking clothes and enjoyed the meal. Breakfast I had was amazing, fresh fruit salad and fruit, not canned. Cons: No cleaning cloths in bathroom or kitchen; no mop and bucket; one clothespin; no clothes hangers; outside furniture filthy and smeared with bird crap; vacuum cleaner missing; €20 for the hire of 2 sheets and 2 pillowcases for the week, same could be bought in the local Leclerc for €15; no bread knife; no bowls for salads. This is a lovely facility being ruined by cheeseparing and careless management. This’s was my second visit,I’d expected improvement after my comments on my first visit, but the very reverse was true.

Pros: The room, I liked a lot. It was spacious, had all the furniture you might have needed, a balcony and a highly effective air conditioning. The lobby area was large enough, well lit and you also had a modern elevator. Nearby, there were two restaurants and a pastry shop.

Cons: The pillows were uncomfortable to say the least, they were oddly shaped, similar to a hot dog’s shape, a very narrow rectangle. The hallway was not well lit. This could be a great drawback for some travellers. To reach a grocery store you would have to walk a lot, because of the distance.

Pros: I had asked for a booking with 2 adults one child when making the initial search but then realized on arrival I only had a twin bed room for 2 people. As our flight to Bastia with EasyJet was delayed, arriving at 11pm there was no one at the reception, I had to "steal" a key for another room as we could not have all slept on 2 twin beds . The next morning instead of understanding the establishment made me pay for the other room even though I had not used the bathroom...I had to pay 105 euros for the twin room plus around 85 for the other room... Great!

Cons: lack of commercial service, made me pay a lot of money for second room due to reservation mistake, just exploiting tourists..will not stay there again. No aircon in the breakfast room area..

Pros: I was here for one night. Jean-Louis is a really nice host, who offers a shuttle service from the airport and the hostel is 5 min walk to the beach which is perfect! I booked one bed in a female dorm and and the room inkl WC and shower all to myself! I would recommend the hostel and defiantly stay there again.

Pros: Place in convenient location close to the airport of Bastia! Host jean-Louis' was very friendly, and his shuttle services anywhere you need to go for a small price are indispensable when you are traveling without a car. We had the place to ourselves and it was clean and had everything you need in a basic hostel.

Pros: Jean Louis is a very nice and helpful person. He waited for my arrival and welcomed me nicely. The structure is very clean and the kitchen all furnished with small things available for the breakfast. The beach is a 2 minutes walking distance and the airport at 10 minutes driving. The house has a small terrace with a table and deck chairs, and a parking spot.

Pros: Long beach, no crowd, hospitality, mingling with other guests, kitchen. Hosts were extremely kind and helpful and offered transfer to supermarket, airport, city or train station. They offered beach towels, umbrellas and sun chairs, tasty pizza, wine, beer, some other food... I got nice little room, despite I reserved one bed in 4 bedroom.

Pros: The evening meal was spectacular! I had pave de boeuf & chips followed by pain perdu. It was AMAZING (& I am very picky!). Pros: Close to the airport, friendly staff with good service, nice room, pool available. Everything I needed for the night before my Departure. I would come back.

Pros: Big and comfortable room, good location and very good food in the restaurant.

Cons: Not much of a breakfast- juice,coffee and some croissants...

Pros: We actually stayed at the main "Castellu Rossu" hotel, in a nice room with a large terrace. Their gardens are excellent, and we enjoyed having dinner there.

Cons: The pool got a bit crowded at peak time.

Cons: Shabby rooms. Surprising given the cost. Had to wait for 20 minutes for a member of staff to arrive at check in at 7 pm. Surrounding locality a bit grim and nice restaurants around a 30 minute drive away in a different town in the citadel and Marina region in bastia.

Pros: The place was close to the airport, so that was great and you could use the facilities of a the other Castellu hotel which were much better. Receptionist was welcoming

Cons: Overpriced! 89 pounds for a twin room with very outdated features and not properly done beds. Noisy! you could hear very well the guests walking and talking, cars parking and going. very very basic

Pros: Close to Bastia airport.

Cons: Room furnishings, though very new and clean, were very sparse. The hotel is an annex of another one across the street, and the staff, while very friendly, were mostly not present.

Pros: Welcoming and helpful front desk staff, huge room, and great location close to restaurants and the airport. We chose the hotel for our last night because it was very close to the airport but it would also be a nice lower-cost alternative to the super expensive properties on Corsica. The air conditioning was strong and the wifi was fast.

Pros: They were willing to check us in after midnight.

Cons: The location is only acceptable by car. Taxi from Bastia Port costs around 60€.

Pros: There was a wedding at the hotel but we been thoughtfully allocated a room away from all the action so it didn’t bother us.

Cons: Breakfast. It would of been great if was not for the flys on all the food. I didn’t touch it.. solution is to simply cover the food. So that has put me of from coming back, but I’ve seen others eating so up to you.

Cons: The toilet had not been cleaned & the receptionist g Had to clean it . There was a weddi No party in & there was music & noise all night . We did not get ANY sleep at all & had an early flight the next morning . It was disgusting that other guest should have to put up with a sleepless night.

Cons: Bed very uncomfortable, toilet and bathroom not very clean. Swimming pool close at 7 and the Spa too, which should stay open longer. The resort three stars is beautiful outdoor but very old rooms and facilities very poor. No fridge in the room neither.

Pros: The staff went above what I expected to make up for a slight miscommunication. It made my experience more enjoyable. I also had an early morning flight which they provided transportation. It was the main reason why I booked with them

Cons: This place was like Faulty Towers on TV. Waiter was the reception/ driver/cook.......???? The cook served RAW meat on my burger. I highlighted this to a lady working there and her eyes went big once I showed her the complete raw meat patty. Waiter could not speak English. We waited to be served for an extremely long time. Other customers had concerns with their desserts, think they found plastic in their ice cream. We tried to stay positive without complaining further. Place was extremely dirty in the hotel, window ledges, carpets, the list goes on. Bed was terrible, rolled to the centre with partner. Room terribly small. Bathroom terribly small. Toilet was soo small. This was separate to the bathroom/ shower. The list goes on..... We asked for a pick up from airport but eventually we walked to the hotel. This place was terrible. Only positive was that it was close to the airport+- 900 meters. 3 star disaster compared to all our other bookings. Over priced. Definitely will not stay here again.. Rather book further away from the airport.

Pros: The staff are very helpful & friendly, if they have lamb shank on the menu- its a def 10! And the Restaurant Director personally made us Irish Coffee which was the best we have experienced in France! If you get a chance go for a massage, hammam & Sauna- ladies were extremely professional & excellent massage therapists.

Pros: The outside area, swimming pool, the beach, and the lovely garden you walk through on the way to the beach were all perfect! The staff was really nice.

Cons: Wi-fi and 3G/4G signal very poor in all parts of the hotel. Breakfast was very basic, missing essentials like fresh bread (baguette), eggs etc. For dinner we had the group menu as it was all there was to offer. As I really liked this hotel a lot I don't want to be to negative, but I'm very sorry to say that if the staff had actually tasted the menu we were served they probably wouldn't even have dared asking us why we didn't finish any of the dishes, let alone insist on it. I hope there will be a new chef the next time I stay at this hotel, as I'm definitely coming back!

Pros: The hotel is interesting_ the owner, probably, is a collector, so many art and natural objects there. The swimming pool is amazing, including sunbeads around it. Very green and neat territory. The rooms are small, but with separate toilet and bathroom_ it is convenient if You are a family. Very quiet, relaxing

Cons: Breakfast is fresh, but choice may look dull if You stay more than 3 days. Beach is absolutely wild, no sunbeds and parasols at all And also! Take a lot of antimosquito‘s bodycare: this is not about hotel, but about a region: in any restaurant, or cafe, or evening walk you will be bitten like hell_ would be great! If hotel could sell them at the reception

Pros: Very nice swimming pool and garden around the hotel. Private access to a beach was also very nice. It's a very dog friendly place, which was a bonus for us. Staff were very friendly.

Cons: Our room was very small to fit 3 people. We had almost no space there. Wi-fi was working only in our room. Bathroom and basically the whole hotel (except the outside space) needs a reconstruction very badly. It's overpriced for what comfort it offers. Not a place we'll be coming back to.

Pros: Great breakfast, lots of variety to choose from. Food (desserts included) is also great. Quiet and beautiful location, a five minutes walk inside the property to the beach. Warm sea waters, view over Cap Corse and the Mediterranean. The staff is incredably nice and friendly.

Cons: It fitted our purpose which was an overnight near the airport. Yes, it is an older property but it was clean and staff were great. Parking adiquate but limited.

Cons: One room had no air conditioning, just a fan blowing hot air so we didn't use. Thankfully there was room for 4 of us in the other room where there was air conditioning. The carpet in the hall was threadbare, the fire exit on the 1st floor was a door with a ladder you would have to attach if you needed to use it. I can't believe booking.com advertise this motel.

Cons: Breakfast was overpriced The restaurant beside the hotel is to be avoided, we were almost overcharged. Only a careful look at the receipt saved us

Cons: It is camping. Parking place very far from the bungalows. Pool area dirty and full. I'm not recommend.
