You are able to 'smell the clean' at this Inn which is something you are able to immediately notice. This is not a chemical smell but a very comforting, clean, and refreshing scent. This Inn feels like home and has the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in when lodging on vacation. Most of what you may need or may forget when vacationing is accommodated for and the staff is very friendly. This was my second time staying at The Country Inn of Lancaster and after this second wonderful experience, just as the last, I will not stay anywhere else! The only thing I can think of to write here is that, as a country inn may have, the floors in the lobby are very slightly uneven due to a rustic-feel which may make walking through with walkers or wheelchairs momentarily uncomfortable but this is not the only entrance and I am certain that the staff can accommodate any need!
Location staff Carpet could have been cleaned better
was a little disappointed in breakfast from the reviews i thought it was a hot breakfast with eggs etc... They did have eggs( hard boiled) I specifically stayed there because i was looking for a good breakfast for my family everything else was great but the breakfast was not what I thought it would be
On Rt. 30, close to the shopping outlets. Breakfast provided. Homey atmosphere.
My family stayed 2 nights~the beds were perfect and the room was clean. The folks working there were polite and efficient and friendly~loved the pool & hot tub. The adjoining restaurant provided room service~excellent food at reasonable prices. We will be staying there again :)
Clean, staff was very helpful and friendly. Our stay even included breakfast. Will stay there again! Can't complain about anything.
loved the room....quilts and such gave it an Amish feel...porch with rocking chairs...very comfortable beds...slept great...will stay there every time I visit that area...staff great...very clean no dislikes
Cozy country atmosphere. Rooms were spacious and clean. Pool and hot tub was great. Sink and shower filled up and drained extremely slowly A fitness center would have been great.
Room decor Areas need updating
Outstanding value for money!! A World traveler sends.
We found this gem while searching for a place to stay for our Hershey vacation. It's the perfect place. Not so close to Hershey that you'll pay inflated 'tourist' rates but not so far away that driving is a hassle. It's about 15 miles away from Hershey attractions which is an easy 20-25 minute drive through beautiful wide open farmland and hardly any traffic. We were very happy with the hotel itself. Very clean and comfortable. Free breakfast was hot and delicious every morning with plenty to choose from (including make your own waffles, fresh oatmeal, eggs, sausage, etc.). The staff was very friendly and helpful. We asked for extra pillows, towels and an extra duvet for our sofabed guest. Housekeeping was very quick to accomodate us. The only (very small) flaw in our tay here was at check-in. We arrived 15 minutes after check-in but had to wait another half hour before our room was ready. This tiny inconvenience aside, we were very pleased with our stay here and would definitely come back again.
We were in for a wedding. Staff very helpful, particularily the manager. \nThanks for everything.
As usual, this hotel was awesome. Comfy beds, great breakfast, two computers for guest use (the kids loved being able to check their email, facebook, etc.) and everything was very clean and new. Would definately stay here again.
I really like the Hampton Inn brand. I find that they always deliver a lot at reasonable prices. With regard to this hotel, I would give it seven stars for service if possible. We stayed there with a large family group and have to say that we hit them up with a lot of requests, questions, and some complaints. They did a phenominal job in addressing all questions and issues to beyond 100% satisfaction. With regard to location, centrally located to a lot of attractions but there is not a lot of choices for restaurants in the immediate area. The breakfeast was very good and all the kids in our group enjoyed swimming in the pool. Would defintely stay here again and plan to.
Clean, comfortable, staff very helpful. Would stay again if in the area.
3 nights. First AM, no water from 7 to 9 AM. Day 2, water, but it sputtered, spit and hissed, causing early departure from shower. There were about a dozen ducks on the rear patio next to the rear parking lot. The little beggars were cute until it was obvious that they left deposits on the outdoor patio adjoining the pool and in the outdoor breakfast dining area. Kind of a disappointment for an otherwise very new and clean facility with polite staff.
Great service, great whirlpool tub, great time!! We loved our room so much we didn't want to leave!! Breakfast was fantastic!! The bed was SO comfy. I can't say enough about this place!! My husband and I were on a weekend get away from the kids...and while there were kids at this hotel, we didn't know it until we left our room!
Extremely clean hotel/room and very friendly staff. Great location and inexpensive cost for location near all Penn. Dutch Country attractions!
The beds and bathroom were clean but the room was small. We also had to ask for a refrigerator to be wheeled into our room. The breakfast was alright, good quantity, not great quality. It was not quiet, there were some girls' high school soccer games going on and there were several teams at the hotel. We have stayed at hotels which were the same price or actually cheaper which were much better than this hotel.
i love the space in the upstairs sitting area, computer area.. i loved the window seats..
The room was comfortable and the service was good. Just thought there would more greenery and less concrete, from the picture on line. All the artifical plants and flowers.
The accomodations were unique, the service exceptional.
I did not have a whole lot of time due to the dog show I was attending (seminars) but the time I did have at your Inn was wonderful! I loved my room (huge), had a ball in the hot tub and shower was one that I hope to put into my home someday. The food was great and what a bargin (the ny steak), the person who was waiting on the table and bar was very nice and I enjoyed his advice regarding dinner . The young fellow(Appollo) was super great and helped me to my room and the gift shop info. He is a great person to greet people as they enter your lobby-friendly, helpful etc. I loved your gift shop-bought the Bassett for my son's vet clinic- he loved it! And I also bought the 4 pictures (cats, rabbit and chicken) and a rabbit container No
Beautiful facility. People were very professional and courteous. Bed needs more pillows. Bed was too hard for what was advertised.
The service was excellent as well as staff...Our son is having his wedding reception here next November...We came for a tour...It will be beautiful....Fave part was buying ornaments I adored off of your beautiful tree in lobby..Our overnight stay was fantastic...Will add the spa services on next visit
A quiet hotel, but at the same time very convenient to close-by villages, towns like Bird-in-Hand and Amish Farms. We got a room right inside the property & so was very quiet. NA
Delightful bed Coffeemaker Toiletries Inconvenient outlets in room--and a lamp without a switch that only worked off the wall switch. Paper and plastic cups = downmarket
Very nice feel of old and new combined. The hotel building is a gorgeous piece of history. It's remodeled to perfection. The neighborhood is not the best although we were able to walk safely from the hotel to downtown Lancaster. I wouldn't do the walk a second time. Hotel is located just a short drive to many amenities. I would stay here again.
The old building has been put to a fabulous new use. The old beams, woodwork and bricks are very interesting. The toiletries and lines are great quality. We could hear our neighbors in the middle of the night. A man checking in at the same time as us asked for a government rate, that was $40 less then we paid. How much subsidizing do we have to do?
The hotel was beautiful and in a great location. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were large and clean. We loved our stay and will go back. The restaurant had great food and the bakery was wonderful as well!
The overall design, comfortable beds, free breakfast, friendly staff Knowing where you were allowed to park, finding the main lobby - we drove passed the entire hotel a few times
Lots of business travelers. Upper end place for town. front desk very helpful and a beautiful young lady. Bar was pretty dead . went out to a few of the local spots within walking distance.
we were well taken care of during the blizzard. Staff was very accommodating. Restaraunt good was very good. Wishing they would've actually opened the Restaraunt and served breakfast for those of us STUCK bc of the 32" of snow. Continental breakfast gets old fast and is unfulfilling. Also, they could've offered a discount on food and room feed to those of us stuck there. I asked. It wasn't an option. Floor creak when someone is room above you. You hear walking, showers, and toilets flushing.
The charm and atmosphere of this hotel were present from the point we first set eyes on it. The restored factory look pairs rustic/historical elements with a chic sense of modern decor. The rooms were spacious enough, but still felt cozy. Continental breakfast was great- featuring goods from the on-premesis bakery. The Cap and Cork Restaurant / bar was also a nice stop, on par with many of the major dining locations in the city. My fiance and I actually spent some time just walking though the hotel, checking out the old parts of the building, and getting a sneak peak at the ballroom / reception area (gorgeous!). We've already planned to go again! The only minor complaint was locating the hotel. It is not far from a major road, but the hotel building is part of what used to be a large factory complex. The rest of the complex was turned into offices/shops, and the hotel sits back behind them. There are also 2 entrances, one of which takes you around the back of the building, which may be confusing your first time.
Clean room. Nice open feeling. Liked the historic feel to the hotel. Mattress was terrible and eliminated a 4 star rating.
It is conveniently located near all of the Hershey attractions. The room had a refrigerator to store the chocolate. Too much noise from other guests in the halls and slamming doors. Lots of kids running around and partying adults.
Very Close to the park with free shuttle. Free breakfast was not too bad Pool was very small. Also our room had cracks and water damage to the walls and ceilings
has a great location, clean, well run and cared for, would stay again could use updating but location, cleanliness and value make up for that
The shuttle that took us from our hotel to Hershey Park.
Pool open late. Covered free parking. Clean. Chocolate smell in the morning was awesome !! Breakfast was great, but extremely crowded and crazy. Layout could make things run a little better, as well as moving tables a little further away.
Front desk staff wasn't very pleasant .
Fantastic location and thankful for the shuttle to and from HP. Love that the hotel hallways smell like chocolate! Gym equipment is outdated and the breakfast is cleaned up for exactly 10. Not a minute less.
Allowance of pets was a real plus. Front desd staff were very helpful. Room did not get made up on second day.
Everything was good.Relaxed atmosphere and staff very helpful and pleasant. No local taxi firm as such, but staff did everything to get us one.Not really the hotel's fault but we were let down by one that we had booked night before we were due to checkout. In fairness hotel staff sorted problem for us.
The shuttle drivers were especially friendly and prompt. The front desk staff was helpful, especially is providing a list of local restaurants. The wifi didn't work in our room, despite assistance from the front desk staff.
Proximity to Hersheypark and area attractions; indoor pool (for the children); the staff was helpfu; and friendly; shuttle to the park.
Close to Hershey Park - free shittle there, too.
The desk clerks were very courteous and helpful.
I liked the location to my destination. The room was clean and staff was friendly and helpful. I wanted to use the laundry but had to go and buy soap and drier sheets. A machine to purchase from would have be nice, instead of running arounnd a town I didn't know.
Clean. new modern rooms nice hotel Great experience. Hotel was new, clean, and the staff were both friendly and accommodating.
It's brand new - even smells new. Good breakfast, great room, good price.

The swimming pool was not heated. It was very cold. All the guest complained about it.
The breakfast was horrible! Fruit was over ripe, breads were hard, and very limited selection. They also had aN indoor pool which was a key attraction for us, but it was 'closed for the season. Overall, not very good hotel.
The room was lovely, very clean and comfortable. Great location, staff was great. The internet did not work the entire time, which was a big deal because my son is homeschooled. Every apparatus in the fitness room was broken. There were no hanging racks of any kind in the bathroom, even in the shower.

Brand new building and free breakfast was awesome! That saved my family a lot of money. Water pressure in the shower was lacking. We were able to shower but had to stand pretty close to shower head. We were on the third floor so I not sure if that had anything to do with it.
Poorly lighted. Dirty. So cheaply finished it should not be a comfort inn. Owner was pumping sewage onto the parking lot when we arrived and it ran down the parking lot. Pathetic example of pinching pennies and should be out of business soon. Nothing good about this location
The hotel was 100% non-smoking. It's not too far from Hershey's Park. There were a few small bugs in our room. The cleaning crew did not change our sheets, instead they flipped the sheet around and remade the bed. The water pressure was low, and there was no water for about 30 mins one afternoon. The pool was dirty.
The hotel was great. Great location. Clean. Nice staff. As nice as any Marriott we have stayed in. Restaurant was understaffed and food was not up to Marriott standards. We could have purchased better food at any of the other local restaurants within walking distance.
Location I didn't sleep well because of a fight in the hallway that took the hotel stuff way to long to resolve. Also I'm a platinum member and was unable to get a king room that I requested.
There for a dance convention with my daughter. The hotel was fully booked but the staff did a great job of managing a large number of guests. The elevators were a problem since everyone started and finished their workshops at the same time of day but they could not control that. You must always have your room key since elevators won't go up or down without a swipe.lots of shops and restaurants in walking distance. Room was fine, clean and not too small. Quiet as well.
Rooms were clean BThroom had some pungent smell but over all ok See above plus there could be bigger breakfast area Was crowded for breakfast
Could have a refrigerator with a freezer....shower could have worked better ,,,breakfast could be better
The room was large and comfortable. We could control our own heat.
Room was clean and the free breakfast was good. Location was great being behind a dunkin donuts, a wawa, and closer to the intersection of 30 bypass. The staff was very friendly.
Very comfortable and quiet room Evening receptionist was rather indifferent
The location is good, but this was my first time ever at a Windgate/Wyndham, and I will never stay on one again. The shower was moldy, and the fabric chairs and one bedspread were stained, so we had to use bath towels to cover them in order to sit down. Worst of all, when we moved the ottoman to sit on one chair, there were remnants of food and paper from the previous tenant of room 121. Clearly, the manager never checks the housekeeping work!
