Manitou Springs, Colorado is a popular place to visit for tourists who love the mountains. There are some striking places to stay here, but one of the most historic and charming is the Cliff House at Pike’s Peak. It is an old Victorian hotel that used to be a historic stagecoach stop. It has 54 rooms that can host guests from all over the world.

The hotel features daily housekeeping, nightly turn-down service, laundry, WiFi, heated toilet seats, bathrobes, flat-screen televisions, king or queen size beds, either a two-person tub or a steam shower, and gas fireplaces. There is dining on-site at the Cliff House Dining Room or the Red Mountain Bar and Grill. Guests will feel that they have all of the comforts of their own home when they stay here. They will be rather impressed with the snug rooms.

When guests of the hotel want to get out and explore the area, they will see that there is so much to do here. They can explore Pike’s Peak, The Manitou Incline, The Garden of the Gods, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, and Cripple Creek. There is also skiing, snowboarding, and snowshoeing nearby.

Pros (+) The Cliff House is a gem. I've stayed a couple of times and I'll continue to go back. Oldest operating hotel in the state; it makes me feel even closer to home as a native Coloradoan.
Cons (-) Bar closed earlier than posted and I was very eager to show it off to my companion :/

Pros (+) Walking into The Cliff House is like stepping back in time. The history runs deep from the ornate woodworking and architectural details to historical photos and memorabilia that line the hallways. You feel transported. The location is perfect to enjoy the beauty of Garden of Gods, Pikes Peak and explore the quaint yet contemporary shops of Manitou Springs. Simple and comfortable bedding in a spaci...
Cons (-) Parking is a bit confusing unless you've read or called about it before arrival. Same with the spa tub in the junior suite, be sure to check out the information booklet in the room for instructions prior to getting frustrated by being outsmarted by a tub.

Pros (+) Some older hotels can show their age. The paint may be fresh, but the doors don't fit, windows leak cold air, and plumbing is iffy. Not here. Cliff House is maintained very well, and feels new while keeping its 19th century atmosphere. Staff are very welcoming. The restaurant is exceptional for foodies. Location is ideal, just one block off the main thoroughfare.
Cons (-) Valet parking is strongly suggested, so shuttling luggage is done in the circle drive out front. But this a minor accommodation one would expect at a landmark that stays loyal to its heritage.

Pros (+) Great history in a small tourist driven community. Filled with beautiful antiques and historic info about the hotel and surrounding town.
Cons (-) Lumpy pillows.
