Sunset at Manila Bay is awesome, you don't need to get out of the place to experience. Staff very friendly and attentive. Will stay again.
The service was beyond attentive. As an example, we didn't just lie bedside the excellent pool... We were constantly served besides this pool, and often with freebies.
As an experienced traveller, the minute I stepped foot in Sofitel Plaza hotel, another chapter was added to my worldly experience. The lovely flowers display at the foyer added an elegant touch to the entrance. The spacious and comfortable room has a delightful view and room service was impeccable. The breakfast offered a wide selection of international cuisines which were both tempting and delicious. Last but not least, the comfortable chairs in the garden which pampered the guests to no end. A job well done and I thank you for a most enjoyable stay.
I liked the rooms, restaurants, pool area. Service in the pool area, difficulties in payments with foreign credit cards, miss information in front desk, communication between the workers from shift to shift was poor, airplane noise time to time was too loud.
The tennis court, the pool, newer building, everything seemd to work well. Live band at night. You cant walk into metro manila like at other hotels, this can be good or bad depending on what you want to do. This is a non factor i think if you were with a family. Hot water took a long time to get hot.
for some reason, the bathroom shower was not designed to stop the water from spilling out. hard to keep the floor dry.
classy hotel nice pool beautiful sunsets and view quiet beautiful grounds lots of service people around car service central location pharmacy clinic lots of security 110 and 220v power outlets in room food samples brought to the pool at certain times complimentary bottled water hammocks lounge chairs have cushions common space air conditioning is very cold, had to leave the sports bar because it was so cold (wearing jeans and a long sleeve t-shirt) buffet is ridiculously overpriced for the quality $65 USD per person dinner Thursdays sports bar is overpriced $35 USD for 2 hot chocolates, a small crappy pizza, and mozza sticks mozza sticks were not breaded but wrapped in spring roll wrappers and greasy pizza ordered was not good and the order was wrong sports bar took 10 mins to order and 30 mins to make pizza and mozza sticks does not allow outside food to be delivered to the hotel pool is freezing cold water slides were under maintenance reception does not respond to email entirely, whenever I emailed them before arriving they would respond to part of the email but I would have to email again to get a response for the rest cannot control balcony light no chairs on balcony shower cold water would cut out every few minutes so the water was scalding hot flowers on balcony not watered, dying mold in shower grout needs to be scrubbed/bleached bathrooms are too dark, need a lighted mirror
The service at the 10th floor. They did not keep the standard of the food service the same in their buffet . I would rate them at most a 3.5 Also when I was upgraded my room they told me and gave me a sheet of paper telling me I can stay until 4pm. Next day ,but they reneged and extended my stay until 1 pm.
Breakfast is always grand in this property I was checked in to a room with multiple problems namely: lighting was not working, AC was not working, the bathroom and the room itself have foul stench, carpet was dirty and the balcony has not been swept for a while. I had to call at least 7x to speak with the manager and wait 3 hours to be moved to a new room. When I asked if I was given a deluxe room the response I received was more infuriating, it was a blunt NO. I was given a standard room and my deluxe room was given to someone else. When the manager realized that she could not convince me to stay in a dirty room she finally decided to change my room. I am a frequent stayer since 2013 but due to this unforgettable experience I will not be coming back.
The bellhops were very friendly and helpful. The included breakfast buffet was great and they switched it up daily. The rooms were decent sized and had mini fridges. The front desk ladies were not very friendly or helpful. The rooms looked nice at first but had a lot of flaws. Our first room had cardboard covering one of the window panels. The second room smelled funny and had a lot of unfinished or broken parts.
location, size of room, quality of room breakfast included the carpets in the hallways need to be replaced immediately. it is a shame because the rest of the hotel is terrific.
Location . Close to airport and walking distance to mall of Asia. The rooms were nice and the staff is friendly and helpful. The hallway carpets are dirty and smelly. While the breakfast is free and there are is a lot of variety , it's not good quality. The dinner is overpriced and the food isn't good. Also we got a room with a king size bed and the bed was a double size.
Location Wifi kept cutting out. Phone for staff was always busy so you have to go all the way down to get help with the wifi, and after a few minutes it would start cutting out again. Also if the weather is bad, the hotel does nothing to discourage Taxis from price gouging. It should be 46-52 pesos to MOA, but you'll be charged 100+ because the hotel does nothing. H2O won't allow Taxis on their property if they overcharge the guests, and these guys could learn from their example.
the staff was warming and very polite, felt like family from the start.would stay again.location was walking distance from all needs.loved my stay nothing
I could not find anything wrong with this properties amenities, customer service and their focus on customer satisfaction I have only found in 6star properties and exclusive resorts. I would definitely make this my first destination for business and family, I would also recommend Dusit Thani-Manila to all my colleagues local and abroad. I came to this property for 2 reason's, 1st: came recommended by a family friend which I trusted and thankfully took her advice, 2nd: for our honeymoon getaway, which is close to everything(e.g. shopping, airport, other friends and easily accessible to public transportstion(e.g. Uber, Grab, taxi, buses, jeepney and tricycle). I would highly recommend this hotel, the frontdesk staff and concierge are well above my expectation but over staff members we were awesome. I wish I could've stayed longer but I had to get back to reality, but I can't wait for my next visit next year for my first year anniversary and to bring my extended family to experience true customer service.
Every thing about this hotel such as cleanliness , facilities, comfort , location and the friendly staff Actually nothing
great service. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were very clean. Not modern but very comfortable. perfume fragrance in the lobby
Value for money
Employees goes extra mile to give a good customer service , definitely my 25 th anniversarry we will stay in Dusit Manila, and everytime a family or friend will visit Philippines I will recommend Dusit hotel I really enjoy staying in that hotel.not to mention I came 14 hours ahead of my flight and Dusit was fully book but they still find a way to accommodate me that was 12 midnight and they just want to make sure I can rest that night after 20 hours flight . N/A
everything about dusit thani. shoutout to robee, mai, ramil, mon flores, warren and everyone else who made our stay very special and memorable.
It was a room. Hotel is old and needs renovation. I'm sure there are leaks in the bathroom behind the shower walls. Convenient to the airport at 5am.
Breakfast was very good and staff pleasant It's an older hotel! Way over priced! This hotel should be a $60-80 hotel! Unless they have newer rooms I haven't seen, mine was old but hot water was great for Philippines!
The old rooms are very bad. The moldy carpeting and musty smell will make you sick. The new rooms are nice. But they are also carpeted, and even though the carpet is new, it still smells. Stay away if you have allergies. I was initially sent to the dungeon upon arrival (old room), but was then upgraded to a new room after insisting AND paying extra. The Thai restaurant excellent. The Japanese restaurant should add traditional western wines to its menu - i.e. French, Italian, Spanish wines. The sushi is mediocre. Carpet is not a sustainable building material. Carpet accumulates dirt, allergens and mites deep within its fibers. Moreover, carpet is made of petrochemicals, it does not decompose in landfills and is generally not recycled. The room's flooring material should be tile.
The staff is very friendly and they always remember my name. The location is excellent for shopping, dining and doing business. Great buffet breakfast.
I asked for them for a cab and was charged 40 dollars for a 4 dollars ride to the airport. When I said I was not paying I was promptly told it was already charged. At this point I didn't have a lot of time to argue since I had to go to the airport.
proximity to resorts world a plus! shuttle from airport is most important. Staff in front desk were very helpful and efficient. Only thing, staff who assisted in breakfast at late part f morning was not flexible with requests at all but staff for early morning shift was great1
Cleanliness No thermostat adjustment
It is only good for night life, adult guests. It was clean and staffs are friendly. Location wise is great for travelling via air. It was close to the airport and they have a shuttle free of charge. I wasn't happy with their centralized A/C. It was so cold and it was hard for my young kids. Their room phone is useless, no one answers from the front desk. There was really nothing for the kids to do in there. Price is expensive. the Rbar breakfast don't have much to offer.
The rooms were OK. The shuttle service provided along with the resorts world manila was great. Resorts World Manila and Remington seems to have a coordinated efforts to charge as much money to tourist while you're are at their facilities. Resorts World Manila and Remington Hotel have promotions they advertised online that was a waste of time trying to get because of a coordinated effort to send you back and forth for requirements they needed for the promotions. The hotel will give you a blank look when you ask about the promotions, and the Resorts World Manila will change their requirement based on who you speak with at the membership counter. They will things like "We don't accept online booking reservation anymore", "We don't accept the hotel print out anymore", "This is not the hotel print out that we need. You have to go back to Remington and just ask for a print out. They should know", "All you have to do is show them the booking reservation", "We don't accept booking reservations anymore." It was a frustrating first night for a tourist. The free internet service they advertised is only good for checking e-mail. It's not good enough to surf anywhere. The internet speed is super slow, and I only get internet reception while I'm in the room when I stand by the doorway. Forget using it while in bed.
Free shuttle bus to airport and back. Too many to list. no wifi in room.
It was good. The hotel was clean and staff were very attending. They need to work in the water that comes to the shower. One moment it was hot and the next very cold.
The hotel is located at convenient location (close to a shopping mall and McDonald's). There are shuttles between the airport and the hotel every hour. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
Convenient to Airport - free shuttle.
I booked a premier room and when I got to the hotel they downgraded my room but still charged me for a premier room. I was on a time crunch so I just booked. When I got to the room, it felt very humid which made the bed sheets and my clothes feel extremely damp. The room and bathroom were tiny and was poorly lit. Place could be much cleaner. I tried asking for another room, but they said they couldn't. They didn't even try accommodating an unsatisfied customer. Just gave me a refund and had me leave. The manager didn't even have the nerves to speak to me or apologize for the inconvenience. I will never recommend this place to anyone. DO NOT STAY HERE.
The staff was very helpful and friendly. The lobby is absolutely gorgeous, but the rooms were lacking a little in cleanliness and comfort. Nice for a one night stay. Great location for shopping at the mall, just a short walk across the street. There was a crazy amount of street construction going on. It took 1.5 hours to get from airport to hotel. You must use an experienced Philippino taxi driver!!
Location Have to walk thru traffic and rain for breakfast .and with the traffic officer the driver does not yield to the pedestrian very disrespectful to the pedestrian.it seems like the pedestrian must obey the drivers way
Nice clean newer hotel! Like most hotels in Manila Area , they are starting to charge a premium like they are New York or Paris ect! It's still the Philippines but poeple are coming and paying these prices so I really can't blame them! I just don't see it, coming here the last 15yrs! the traffic is impossible, so plan on walking!
Hotel staff were very courteous, responsive and helpful, no hidden fees all upfront, amenities are excellent and location is very convenient. Breakfast was always sumptuous and lounge has breathtaking views. Simply a welcome retreat after office hours with really beautiful views of the city. Beds were always well prepared. Hotel offered free parking for one car (not valet). Room came with free papers daily. Hotel's location is also in the red light district with lots of beggars and street urchins, street is a main thoroughfare and can be at times difficult for those who drive. Hotel is a bit old with carpets needing a complete overhaul or detailed steaming, beware of short shorts in the lounge; they will turned you away if you're Filipino. Hate to say it but feels like a bit of a whorehouse at times with local girls swarming a bit older foreign male. I could be wrong of course but you be the judge.
The location. The non managerial staff were very courteous and helpful. The. Reservations made was not I wanted, I wanted two beds. They gave me a? Queen bed and a trundle bed
The service and comfort was would you can expect in a 5* hotel. The actual rate charged was higher than initially confirmed, due to local taxes and service charges.
Friendly, courteous and helpful staff. Rooms were clean and very comfortable. If you're lucky, you get a room with a nice view of the bay like we did. Also, nice pool area and gym. The breakfast was wonderful! Diverse international food to satisfy all cravings. The view from the dining room was great. There's even a garden area should you prefer to dine al fresco. Convenient location. Relatively close to the airport and to many tourist sites. Only a block away from Robinsons mall. Although the immediate area around the hotel seemed pretty safe, a little further afield and you get to see the nitty gritty of Manila. I still felt safe, but you have to be smart.
I like themost How they r Friendly and the Hospitality is just great Overall, I would say it was really excellent time I have spent there.
The friendly staff and the nice view over the town at the breakfast room. (top floor / 23rd level.) The unfortunate thing is the area the hotel is situated. Walking outside the hotel brings you right in the middel of the "red-light" district.
Good staff Dirty room - stained carpets and furniture, cracked marble. I reserved an upper floor room but they lied saying no upper floors were available. This hotel is run by scammers. All the things inside the hotel are extremely expensive. They charge US$10-15 for mini bar drinks plus VAT etc. Internet was $27 for 24 hours -- even 4 seasons doesn't charge that! They rip you off every chance they get.
Staff was very friendly. Rooms are nice and clean. My stay was very comfortable.
Awesome customer service! Rooms were cold, no heaters
Staff were exceptionally friendly & helpful Location, though central, was adjacent to mix of the destitute/slums & consequently much begging. That said, old Manila is mostly a mix of this no matter where u go.
A portal into old Manila with all the classic immunities one would need in any 5 star hotel.
Not much The carpets are dirty and needs replacements. The lights are uneven. The old charm of the hotel has vanished. It looks old rather than historic. It looks tired and at time tacky.
Stayed at Manila Hotel 35 years ago and it was luxurious and elegant then and it still is! Breakfast buffet was more like a brunch! It was excellent, delicious but sinful ! The second time we were there it was very crowded but then considering it was a weekend, it's understandable !
The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive. The bedding is excellent and the furnishings are all nice. The bathrooms are very nice too. Didn't have meals other than the breakfast buffet, which was the nicest I have ever had, in any hotel (previous stays U.S., Canada and Europe). Had never been to the Philippines and wasn't sure what to expect in accommodations. Manila Hotel surpassed my expectations by a significant margin. Has a feel of true luxury. Some of the surrounding areas seem like they could be a little unsafe. This is not a criticism of the hotel, which is over 100 years old and has probably seen much change in the city. The hotel takes safety and security of its guest very seriously. Just ask them if you have questions about the surrounding areas. We did venture out for dinner and were careful. Keep most of your money in the hotel safe and don't be alone if possible. Bottom line is I will still look to stay here when in Manila.
Breakfast buffet was great. Many selections.
The room at the tower good. Breakfast has lots of choices and good service too. When i was online trying to select a room. From the website, the room grade i select was suppose to be the newly renovated rooms with rain shower, marble bathroom counter, tv in bathroom and etc... But when i check in, i was assigned to a older room at the main building without all as described. I call the loddy and they told me that my room grade was not the newly renovated rooms, it is available at the next higher grade room. I was not too happy about this as i feel that i was misleaded to book at this hotel because of the renovation. But not so. I talk to the manager and she allow me to change room, but keep reminding me that this is only a courtesy upgrade, next time please book the higher grade room. My point is that the hotel are giving miskeading into on website to customers and the staff should be aware of the room class and provide the correct room to customer.
Lobby was fabulous. Breakfast was fantastic. Ambiance seems like a blast from the old manila The check in counter was a bit slow in processing transactions. Bathtub draining does not work on our room. Single bed is a bit small and requires limited sleeping movement
Location. Near shopping malls and landmarks Parking
Breakfast buffet, pool, comfortable room, friendly staff, beautiful lobby and wonderful musicians, elegantly dressed staff Attitude toward guests not up to European standards The required deposit is unnecessary if a credit card is used to book room
Historic look, reflects Philippines culture Breakfast buffet had good variety but quite salty
The buffet breakfast was really good. Ms. Cruz was very helpful. When you booked online, you need to know how their rooms really look like. They place me in the worst rooms (which was on the side of the hotel building). I have been in Manila Hotel a lot of times and I was very upset when I entered the room (smelly, dusty, old) does not look like what I saw in their website. you can asked for the manager and have her (ms.mcruz) fixed the problem.
Elegant hotel Friendly staff Breakfast buffett had numerous selections Very clean room had, no problem with hot water None so far, I stay at Manila Hotel a few days per year on my vacation and business trips
Continental Club buffet was excellent. The view from rm 4216 was bad -- the side of the next building. The hallway was dim and the light switch didn't work. The bathroom floor had pee stains around the toilet. The speakers in the bathroom were loud and could not be modulated. The room temperature was cold and The AC controls were not intuitive. It's like they just dump you into the room and left you to figure out how to work things out. I thought of asking for another room but it was too much of a bother for a one night stay.
the location and casino are what makes this hotel interesting to me. booking took ages to come through. Prices are exaggerated during peaks.
nice hotel but very expensive ....... to expensive and bad location....
about the nicest rooms and facilities you're going to find in Manila The swimming pool area was noisy due to nearby air conditioning motors. It was a significant distration
place had good ambience . some of the staff were not as helpful as other similar hotels in area
Courteous staff who are always ready to attend to your needs with a big smile. Great location to reach different points in Metro Manila if you hate traffic. It's a great deal for the money. You can't beat the variety of excellent Chinese food offerings at Li Li. The Market Place Restaurant has the most extensive menu for brunch from Pilipino, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, European or continental fare. Non that I could think off.
I liked the pool view I liked the dinning facilities and breakfast Like the lounge and casino I like the security staff was king and helpful and understanding The children running the streets and dirty begging
location-view front desk staff need more traning
Staff at check-in and at the Market cafe not highly professional, making mistake in billing on breakfast.
Room is clean, Gym is decent., food good. In spite of booking and being given a "non-smoking room", the room still smelled smoked in. I think it is their ventilation system. If you are a smoker, the hotel is fine. If the smell of smoke bothers you then I would not recommend it.
No, I don't like it. It was a little bit old and looks a bit dirty for vacation.
Very clean room and the location is great for shopping, dinning and nightlife.
Great place to stay. No problems
Location; positive attitude of staff. Way over priced. Dusit Thani is much better for less money.
Closeness to all shops and places to eat Noisy day construction after a late night event I wanted to sleep but couldn't because of heavy noises next door. Although it's posted I did not realize how bad it was. Pool was closed too
Location to restaurants and shopping was excellent. The newly renovated room was equipped with modern furnishings. I really enjoyed strong water pressure of the shower! The staff was attentive and courteous to your needs. The room's electrical power outlets weren't working properly. The light dimming switches were confusing to use. I had just a "lemon room" of all rooms. The sound of construction due to the hotel's room renovation project can be heard throughout the day.
This hotel had everything the location was perfect about a 20 min drive to the mall of asia but also right across from greenbelt mall. Ab
No early check-in. No late check out. Breakfast for 1 despite it being a double room. Room requests for double beds not accommodated. Overall, pleasant staff, albeit highly ineffective.
Convenience w Wi-fi is weak
Excellent service and very well maintained hotel. Great location next to shopping and restaurants at Greenbelt and Glorietta malls. Minor quibble, but noticed that the showers did not seem quite scrubbed down at the creases. so you can start to see the age. Not quite mildew, but the only thing that keeps it from being perfect.
I had forgotten to pack my running T-shirt and shorts when i checked out. I only realised when i was already in a cab to another city. I called the hotel and told them that I had forgotten the T-shirt and shorts and if they could kindly keep it for me as I was coming back to Makati a few days later. When I went to collect my T-shirt and shorts, they were washed and nicely folded and packed for me. This was definitely a gesture that was not expected and a welcome surprise. Thank you New World Makati!
Location, location, location Rooms need to be updated
Breakfast was lovely. The variety of food available was good for all meals. The gym is excellent. Room was a good size and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was very nice and there was a nightlight, a nice touch all too often neglected. It's a very nice hotel and I would go back! But.... WIFI access ends the moment you check out. Immediately. Which means that even if you check out at 9am and could have checked out at noon, no wifi for you as of 9am. Hopefully you don't have to call a cab or write a memo. Perhaps you were thinking of a leisurely breakfast in the lobby after checking out while reading the paper online. Nope. In 2015, when you pretty much assume that internet access is available for a reasonable amount of time, that's a pretty strong negative. The staff was far too eager to serve and frankly, a bit overbearing. The first day, I had two members of staff burst into my room while I was in the bathroom (pretty bad luck, I suppose), one without knocking, the other with just a cursory knock and a half second wait. I learned to lock and chain the door and put on the DND light right away. Once I forgot the DND light but locked the door... Ooops! So while I was taking a nap, I got someone knocking at the door for 2 minutes till I got up so they could give me bottles of water. Eating in one of the restaurants requires that you keep a tight grip on your plate or glass if you are having a leisurely meal... a waiter is likely to swoop down and take it away before you can say a word, if they feel you are done, whether at breakfast, lunch, or dinner. While eating, one waiter after another will come over to ensue that you are enjoying your meal, interrupting a quiet evening, over and over again. The service has good intentions, but really needs to back off a bit.
The Peninsula is the best hotel in Manilia as far as I'm concerned
Lobby, orchestra and staff.
Hotel lobby and restaurant interior is impeccable. Staff was extremely friendly and attentive to my needs. Location is not quite convenient for shopping. Hotel is located across the shopping centers, but crossing the busy streets of Manila. is not for the faint of heart. I ended up writing a cab. The taxi drivers were fine with the short distance.
The staff address you by name and give very personal attention. Hotel is gorgeous and well located.
1. Location in bustling Makati 2. Festive and Grand Lobby 3. Breakfast Buffet was top notch 4. Responsive and Pleasent Service 1. Room was old, small and not super comfortable 2. Weak Wi-fi in rooms 3. Expensive room service, restaurants and laundry options
The lobby is very nice. Nice room and room service, it's up to a 5 star standard. Why the staff cannot get me a taxi when I need to go to airport ? Asked me to use Uber and which I did. However, I am from United States and Philippines not accepting my form of payment and not able to request one. The staff suggest we just stand there and wait until a taxi come by.. end up I followed up myself after 20 minutes of wait; going back to concierge and ask them to grab me a local Uber... waited for another 20 minutes to catch one...cannot believed peninsula is so behind at this area !!
wonderful classic luxury hotel but with a cut above in professionalism and warmth of staff. lovely! highly recommended--
5 adults, 1 child. Even though the hotel was about 40 yrs old, it was wonderful to stay here. The staff was nice and professional. Rooms were very comfortable. The amenities were great. The ambience was great, made me feel welcomed. They even added extra bed to a 2-bed deluxe room for us... I don't remember asking for one. Thank you Peninsula. Shower area in the bathroom made me feel cramp and enclosed.
The hotel amenities were above average. The suite we stayed in was clean although I had to ask a 2nd time for a non smoking room. The hotel pool was a big hit with the kids but the buffet was priced a little high for the selections available. The staff was really friendly especially the front desk (kudos to Jen). We originally had three room reservations the first week we arrived. Three adults got sick and therefore we're unable to make the trip with us so we had to cancel/rebook the third room. Paid cash to upgrade to the deluxe sky tower suite for us to check in the day before our flight which was a week after our first stay. When we got home, there was a charge for the 2nd stay. Called my sister in the Philippines and we had to be on 3way conversation with the manager who swears that there were no charges but just a "hold" for the incidentals. Right now we are waiting for a resolution from them which could take 7-14 days according to the manager on duty.
We stayed for 1 night so we could be closer to the airport for the following day's early flight. Location is great and the amenities are great. Love that we were entertained at the casino.
The room was spacious ,very clean ,the service was impeccable ,everything in the hotel was well done . Nothing.
Great casino ambiance and professional staff, nice, safe and comfortable rooms and amenities. Convenient free enter net wi fi and free shuttle service from and to the mall and other destinations The SPA is nice but massage service is way over priced . The TV channels had a problem which was not fixed during my 2 stays in a period of 6 days then my other stay for 2 days 12 days later
Top things about this hotel in order: Location (you cant find any better), Staff, The Bed, Bathroom, Minibar, Spa, The Cityview, and Security. The rates are too exaggerated, You can find other much cheaper hotels with similar qualities, nothing very special about it for such a price
The space of the apartment was excelent... Front desk friendlyness might need to be improved.
Location Ascott could not locate my reservation even when given my confirmation number and booking agents number. Front desk did not know what to do, they wanted to charge me double my original paid reservation and credit my paid reservation when it came through.....WHAAAAAT! Very late and tired, no one offered to make it right, front desk seem to have attitude. I finally called Kayak and had them locate original reservation which was faxed to front desk. Front desk calls me to tell me they have fixed it and I clearly told them... I FIXED IT BY CALLING KAYAK...which is something they should've done in the first place!!!!!
One word - ataraxis.
The floors were extremely dirty. Always had to keep shoes on otherwise feet were black on bottoms. We were even in the penthouse suite where you would think they take more care.
I liked the location, cleaness of the hotel..beautiful spacious room i think the taxes were too high
We stayed here only because we missed our flight and the Holiday Inn was full. We wanted to stay near the popular shopping areas (Glorietta and Greenbelt). The location was excellent and they upgraded our room so we had a washer/dryer, kitchen and separate bedroom. This was perfect because we desperately needed to do laundry and didn't want to spend extra money on laundry service. It was also nice that we could cook our own meals and didn't have to spend a ton eating out and the Landmark grocery store was only a short walk away. We will probably not stay here again because they allow smoking in the rooms so once we made it home, all of our clothes that we just washed smelled like cigarette smoke. The worse part was the little ants that crawled around the whole room even the dining room table. We noticed it the second day there and had all of our luggage on the floor so we were paranoid that ants got into our luggage. We even found some crawling in bed with us. We were very ready to leave.
The folks at the Ascott were super friendly, from the front door, to check in on the 6th floor, the restaurant was very good, staff attending to the room all were outstanding. Have been coming to PI for 10 years 20 plus trips. 1st stays were at New World, last 6 years have been at the Dusit...price/value was better in comparison than both of those hotels...we were in the old wing, rooms were spacious, we did check out the newly remodeled wing and it is newer for sure...the location next to Glorietta was great and only a 12 minute walk thru the mall to get to the Greenbelt Mall and theaters. We will be staying at the Ascott from now on. PS loved the pool area and the Jacuzzi There was nothing to complain about at all
service, facility, location, rates
The service and security level provided by the Ascott's was excellent and to 5 stars international standards. Honesty and responsiveness of front desk personnel is commendable. Bathroom furnishing needs to be enhanced in order to improve averall staying experince.
Friendliness of staff. Safety measurements taken by Hotel. Proximity to Shopping Mall giving options for lunch and dinner. Rooms will need refurbishment pretty soon.
Long line breakfast buffet; needs renovation at the lobby
I could not say anothing bad about my stay. It is my favorite hotel in Manila. We showed up 4 hours early and was able to get a room hours before check in time. I was also upgraded to a better room since they ran out of regular rooms for us. The guess relations person who helped us was very helpful and pleasant. We had a great stay and the Chi spa was an awesome experience. Though it was on the expensive side, it was well worth it. Bit on the expensive side.
i very much appreciated your upgrading me to a corner room which i have enjoyed during a previous visit (room 909). for several years i stayed elsewhere in manila because i did not like the room assigned to me. but this time i was very happy -- thank you. no complaints...i was very happy at the EDSA shangri-la this visit.
Very good breakfast and gym. Very friendly personal. The booking price was given in U.S. dollars but final settlement can only be done in pesos (PHP). This becomes a problem when the hotel uses an exchange rate of 50 (correct official rate is about 46 - the official exchange rate at the front desk is about 47 something). I spent a lot of time arguing about why I would not just pay an additional 50 US$ for my stay because of this - I had to discuss it 3 times until it was eventually fixed, but I was very late for my plane because of it (even though I had gone twice before checking out to make sure it was ok!). This is my only complaint about the hotel which is otherwise very good. Just make sure you do not pay overprice because of the exchange rate also.
Nice and clean...It is really 5 stars hotel. The food of breakfast is so so...
Nothing Horrible nightmare. They threw me out on the street due to a glitch in kayaks own get a room site. Get a room claims that my credit card had issues, which Is inaccurate. On the second day of my stay, they told me to pay double or go. What a disaster! The manager on duty showed no compassion to make a common sense decision to charge me the agreed upon rate with a new credit card. They refused to do something so simple and off I went onto the street. I will never stay at a shangri la again, the makati property gave similar problems to me and I had to pay twice in order to stay there since it was 11 pm. Shangri la is not shangri la . It is hell.
I loved the amenities, the buffet, the pool, and the extremely courteous staff.
I had a great overall experience. The only thing I didnt like was hidden cost, they ask me to pay way to much for breakfast buffet which was suppose to be include with the room. Since I didnt go directly through the free breakfast buffet didnt count I had to pay
If you need to layover a night in Manila, the Belmont is an excellent choice since it is literally across the street (though you can't walk there with your luggage very easily, you will still need a cab). It has room service, a pool, a rooftop bar, all the amenities. The rooms are extremely small, and given the general cost of things in Manila, this hotel is quite expensive. The hotel airport shuttle takes 45 minutes (!) to reach the airport because it goes to two other hotels on the way. So you really need to take a cab or a "private car" from the hotel, which is ~700 pesos. ($14).
The room is super clean. I love the rain shower, the bed, Pillows, lobby, staff. Checking in is terrible, they need more staff or work a lil more organized and faster. Pool is too crowded and small. Bathroom door was built in the wrong side of the room.
Staff is very courteous and helpful. Very clean rooms and facilities. Comfortable bed. On site restaurant is good. Close to everything - airport (NAIA) and shopping (Mall of Asia).
The breakfast buffet was stellar. One of the best I've ever had.
Great value for the price. Breakfast is actually more of a brunch buffet. Many choices. Water pressure was excellent. Amenities such as the gym and pool were enjoyable. Double occupancy room may be tight for American travelers; opt for a single bed room instead.
We stayed 3 different times within 3 weeks in this hotel (we went out of town twice between stays). First of all, the service is impecabble. The staff is very warm and welcoming. The location next to 2 huge malls means the availability of many restaurants and retail shops and services. Being a fairly new hotel, the interiors are very nice and clean, yet it feels homey. I totally felt comfortable here and would go back and highly recommend this hotel to others.
Rooms are great, we love the great big windows giving us a great view of the city and the pool.
Great service Nice room Excellent breakfast buffet Nice atmosphere at Long Bar. 2700 php for car to airport? Must be a compromise between this and a local taxi at 200 php.
