Excellent position on the waterfront in the Vieux Port. Comfortable modern hotel, good sized rooms and very helpful staff. Beds and pillows first-class. Breakfast very satisfactory. Position, staff and beds.
Location of the hotel was fantastic Lack of Tea and Coffee making facilities
The place has a good location. My stay was very disappointing. Several details did not meet the expectations one can have considering it is a 4 star hotel. The restaurant of the hotel does not serve dishes after 14h00. Wifi was not working properly and for some reason, my phone could reach no signal inside my bedroom. In addition, the bathroom was dirty. At breakfast, eggs were blue and my cup was dirty. I asked for another one but the one I got was dirty too... Despite Radisson hotels are known for practicity and efficiency, I would definitely not recommend the hotel to businessmen.
The room was very comfortable and clean. We were lucky enough to enjoy the fireworks from the bay-side windows! There were none except that bath robes and slippers that should have been provided were missing. They were delivered upon request. In a room where two of my friedns stayed on the same night, only one set was provided, although they did not complain about it.
Great location and very good facilities. Personnel very helpful, specially at the fron desk. Concierges are probably the exception, they are very polite, but did not help much. I found the hotel very good, except for the charging of minibar items and breakfast. The prices are amazingly expensive, even for a four start hotel, and totally unjustified based on quality. When a hotel charges 10 euros for a small can of peanuts and 6 euros for a coke (price outside 1.60 euros), it is clear they have a clear objective of ripping their clients off.
Room comfort,Staff,Location, breakfast Small pool, our bed was not very clean
Central position, swimming pool, car valet service and parking, courteous staff 22 euros for breakfast was outrageous. The buffet may have been good but I, and many others like me, prefer just a coffee and croissant for breakfast. No allowance was made for my preference in terms of price. Rather than pay 22 euros each day I had to leave the hotel and take breakfast at a cafe three hundred metres away - for 6 euros!!!! Radisson should be ashamed of themselves. Daylight robbery
To find at the right place exactly what I expected to. Perfect room organisation. Nothing
Very clean and comfortable, pool area nice including food and drink service. Wonderful view in the Vieux Port room, and large opening window very nice. Staff helpful. Breakfast buffet very good. Bus stop right next door and good bus service in Marseille. Just past lively area so not too crowded or noisy but still trivial walk to many restaurants and brasseries. Some traffic noise, but not too bad and not unexpected for city location. Didn't bother my sleep.
The location of this hotel is excellent. Just in front of Vieux Port and easy to access the centre of town. There are many things were broken in the room. You can not open the windows, the eletric plug was broken and town rall was damageded. And there is no parking space, so you have to pay parking 21 euro for stay.
Good location. We had lovely views over the Vieux Port Decor a little dated now
Very friendly staff, great breakfast, very nice lobby and very well located, not far from the train station and close to the old city.
The room is quite big, there was a kettle, a lot of TV channels Even though the hotel is close to the city center and vieux port, the streets around look rough especially at night (but nothing happend)
location Not much tourism information available in hotel
Location 3 blocks to Old Town waterfront. Friendly front desk staff. Good breakfast offering. There were notes appologizing that the hotel was under renovation. A property should not let their room carpets reach the level of wear we experienced. Hotel is definately a Taxi trip to and from the train station.
Nice reception. Marble floors & nice decor. Rooms were nowhere near this standard. Unsafe dingy location, the worst was dingy rooms not 3* standard. Advised hotel was fully booked when I requested to change to better room.
very very very very very very very very very very very very very very nice!!!!!
Only location and nothing! Hotel staff is false. Room ia dirty. Fleas is jumping. Curtains in holes. The Internet is very weak. Conditioners don't work in room. The pastel linen changes once a week. A breakfast poor.
Clean, comfortable, nice hotel with good value for money. Even though the location was pretty good the neighberhood was not that nice in the evenings, especially not for woman. Sundays especially everything nearby closed down early, and the only people youl could see in the streets was men.
Good location (close to Old Port, Metro, train station) if you don't have a car and/or come by train. However, if you have a car and/or you don't need/want to stay close to the center of the city you might want to chose another location - if you are there for the beaches, Cassis or La Ciotat would be better locations than Marseilles. Work was getting done in the hotel, possibly to refurbish the rooms - they seriously need that. The noise vas very annoying - started early in the morning so you couldn't sleep late if you wanted to. Also the price was kinda steep for the quality offered, even considering I made the reservation on rather short notice.
Desk staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Room was small but very beautiful. Highly recommend this location.
Location. Great room with view overlooking harbour but with really effective soundproofing. Large, firm bed. Nothing.
The location, just next to the Vieux Port, is really amazing. The room was extremely small for the price we paid, without any kind of view (does "courtyard view" means facing a wall and no light at all????) and not very comfortable. Moreover, the staff was quite unfriendly.
Location, excellent room, nice bar area
Efficient, friendly staff Quiet room Fabulous food (room service and breakfast) Bar and breakfast room views Everything we needed including WiFi Had to leave
The location was fantastic. Easy to walk around the port and surrounding area. Lot of choice of restaurants nearby Cost of wi-fi access. In 2008 this really should be free in a good hotel.
The concierge was very helpful in helping us find a good 'bouillabaisse' restaurant and making the reservation. Nice and pro
The location was great. Easy access to everywhere and the staff were very helpful.
They upgraded us from a city to a harbour view room - really impressive vista and absolutely worthy the extra rate if you are booking. The hotel has retained its original character and we were surprised on the up-side. All was fine
Good hotel. Very clean. Just in the center of Marseille city. Beautiful view of the Vieux Port.
The hotel is clean and comfortable and one could not imagine a better location. Also, we were able to check in at 8 a.m., which came in extremely handy. A little fridge in the room would have been welcome.
Very good location and helpful staff. Terrible coffee served at breakfast.
Very helpful and welcoming staff. Good location of hotel - right in the old port and beside the metro station.
Great location! Right next to the Harbour, opposite the tourist information, real close to metro and bus stops. Free wifi worked well. Bright and clean, bathroom spotless, showerhats provided. More expensive "superior room" was still ridiculously tiny (just enough space for double bed) and so were bathroom and bathtub. Check-in assistant hadn't read through my booking because asked for payment of breakfast although I booked all inclusive and wanted to give my girlfriend and me (female) a room with twin beds altho I had specifically asked for one big bed. Homophobes. Breakfast lady almost denied access to 4 people who arrived at 10h03 and 10h08 instead of 10 sharp - no sense of service whatsoever! After complaint, I was even told that if the buffet is until 10, you do not arrive at, say, 9h50 but before. I wonder: Why not?? 10 is still early for a holiday breakfast. Buffet was ok but not worth 10euros. Try café "a Cup of Tea"!
hotel location it needs renovation
Location, fenestration, balconies
Very nice hotel in an old building with central location very close to the port and with moderm clean rooms. Affordable price (had a promo of 119 EUR for double with breaskfast). No minibar.
Ideal Hotel to discover Marseille
Excellant location Very poor decor, carpets etc
The location is outstanding, the staff is extremely kind and friendly, and the room was spotless and comfortable. We showed up right when the weather turned bad, and the front desk attendant offered us umbrellas whenever it was raining out. It is a great hotel for a weekend break, as the facilities are great and you can stay without much fuss. Check in and check out is simple, and there are several parking garages, with a hotel discount, located nearby. The room was smaller than we expected, but comfortable.
Location, price Tired decor, musty, air con not very efficient
Fantastic location, nice views from the rooms with balcony. Nice vintage 50's look
Staff did more for ouer comfort and pleasant time in this hotel. Fantastic location and good price, good breakfest.
location, excellent internet access AC was terrible but staff moved us (lost waterview!) to newly rennovated room with great AC
The hotel was in an excellent spot and was excellent value for us, just the job for a base to explore the city, buses boats and Metro all within a stones throw. We stayed in a top floor room so any noise didnt bother us either. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The view was terrific The bathroom could do with more extract as it got very steamy
The location of the hotel was very good and the view from our Club superior room was beautiful. The coffee during breakfast was exceptionally good.
Location and view
Good location Breakfast was a lot of money
Fantastic view of the old port, very nice staff and free wi-fi (which works great). No room service for diner (but enough restaurants close by), for 180 € per night this should be a service...
Location and view Small fridge
The magnificant view of the harbour The breakfast was served in a rather dark room
Excellent location!! very kind and helpfull staff, very clean and confortable room!
Excellent location, good night of sleep because of the quality of the beds. Good shower Nothing
Central location overlooking the old harbour. A good standard 2 star. Lack of advice on where to park at time of booking. There were garage parking facilities nearby which had we known, would have made parking easier
The WiFi is advertised, but the speeds make it pretty unusable - could barely check email.
hotel stuff are really nice and helpful. good location its not very confortable, the bed
Friendly staff, good buffet breakfast, great view over the old port. Location was great - in the middle of everything, many restaurants & wine bars right outside the front door.convenient starting point for many of the sight-seeing activities. Room a bit small, but comfortable
It was close to the metro. the elevator starts on the 1st floor so it is difficult to retrieve your baggages. The rooms are carpeted and people are allowed to smoke in them, so they have a musky smell. we also had no sunlight in the room although this meant that we had little noise as well.
Port view Elevator less
The croissonts. Room cleaning was not done on `one day and we had to remind staff late in the afternoon.
The room was very large and had a lovely balcony that looked over the dock for all the yachts.the bathroom was clean and large and had a nice hot shower. First impression from the street were not encouraging as it looked very dirty and there was a lot of rubbish in the street but it is a lovely hotel once inside.
Yes very good position and comfort
The hotel is an excellent location on the Old Port right next to a Metro Station. The superior room was spacious and beautifully decorated. The view from the room was magnificent, morning, sunset and evening! The included breakfast offered quite a variety for the traveller. I'd highly recommend this hotel. Some hotel staff were extremely accommodating, especially when we were trying to travel during the strike in France. The night staff person was not very helpful so we did not know our train the next day was cancelled until the morning staff checked for us.
we had a very nice, larger room. The desk staff spoke excellent english and upgraded our room and gave us some very fine sightseeing tips.
we got a nice big room with port view, the hotel has a great location! no parking in the hotel
The hotel was very central but quiet. It was very close to transport links, shops and the old port.It was an excellent base for a holiday. Yhere was no A/C in the room.B/fast very expensive.
the excellent location and comfortable and relaxed atmosphere
The hotel is fantastic.
Extremely clean. Just what we needed. Walking distance to main areas.Staff and location were fabulous. We speak French however it was great they spoke English to us. We had such a great experience we asked them to book the hotel at the airport for us. Too short a stay.
Location to railway station Room shabby and in need of upgrade
The hotel was clean, functional and did what it said on the tin. Breakfast expensive for what it was. Corridors could do with a face lift but room comfortable and nice size.
discreet and efficient service. Very good breakfast. Very good location. Friendly and helpful staff. Very good value for money.
Close to the station and city Bedroom was worn, in particular the bed spread that was torn through its sheer longevity, end up sleeping in our sleeping bags for fear of bed bugs etc
Proximity to train station.
Convenient location, excellent breakfast Our room was a bit in need of being decorated
The tree in front of the window allowed for some privacy. Bathroom was not very clean.
Proximity to railway station and main street/old port area The cheaper room I booked was more like a comfortable 2.5* room rather than a 3* room, the price being more applicable to a 3* room, but the location compensated for this. Otherwise the hotel and room met expectations.
Close to the railway station. The furniture is old, and seems to be 20 years old.
one lady at the lounge was very helpful. The room wasn't like in the pictures. Very dark and there wasn't at all enough warm water in the shower.
The hotel is comfort, clean and the situation is marvellous.
Location of the hotel, good value for money and quite a stylish interior of the room.
Good location. This place doesn't even look like a hotel when you walk in the door. The lobby looks like a walk-in closet. The hallways resemble an old apartment building. Once we checked in, we managed to fall asleep on the old, springy mattresses only to wake up to the sound of water dripping inside the walls. As I was searching for the source of the water, I noticed mold was covering the ceiling area directly above the bath. The front desk agreed to look into a new room for us, but we'd have to come back an hour later. We were given a new room and we were excited to finally shower. We soon lost that excitement when we realized there was no hot water and the shower was designed in a manner in which water could not be kept in just the shower area. Thus, the bathroom floor was soaked. We assume this is what causes ceiling mold in the shower area. Luckily, we got to walk our soaking feet out onto the nasty, long carpet right outside the bathroom door. I wonder how many other guests have had their soaking wet feet in this carpet. Gross! This place was horrible. Don't do it.
room extremely clean, helpful staff when asked about maps and places to visit
The view although somewhat restricted. Clean. Staff was helpful Booking.com implied that the hotel was very near the Grand Tonic, however after walking about an hour we ended up getting a taxi. So this is not about the hotel, but better direction instructions could have been given. Roller bags don't roll easily on cobblestone streets.
Very central and great for the Metro Good food Great service
The Grand Tonic Hotel was excellent because of its central location , size and comfort. The Staff were friendly and helpful. We would recommend it and stay there again if visiting Marseilles. Thank you.
nice clean modern hotel, breakfast should be included with the rate though
Clean, safe hotel. 24 hour front desk. helpful staff
We understand the hotel has been partly refurbished. We stayed in a re-furbished room. We were very impressed by the design, style and comfort. It was very tasteful, spacious, clean and stylish. It said 'class act'. Ours was a dark, internal facing room but was excellent. Full compliments to the commissioners/designers: you have done a very good job. Very highly recommended. The inside is very nice. The outside space is pleasant but does not stand out from its surroundings, some of which are a bit tacky (McDs)
The bathroom looks upgraded and chic.
In fact we did not like much about this hotel and stayed only one night instead of the week we had planned. There was no where to unpack our clothes. The kitchen did not have a coffee maker. The internet in the room did not work.
The personnel was very friendly and helpful. Excellence location by the port. The rooms were very clean. Free wi-fi internet. Breakfast was poor: no cheese, no ham, no fruits. Sometimes during the night, it got noisy from outside (perhaps not good soundproof windows?) . Unfortunately the view on the port is blocked by some other taller buildings in front.
Location - it is in the old port near everything. It has kitchen and everything needed (except teapot... why?) It was claimed that it has "port view". Unfortunately "port view" was half-meter-between-two-buildings.
The location of the hotel is fantastic and is literally seconds to the bars/restaurants that line the port. It is also within walking distance of the main shopping area! The standard of cleanliness was high. The windows are thin and the street can be quite noisy.
This is a simple hotel with basic facilities, clean and excellent location Very limited breakfast, very very poor sound-proofing and no english television stations.
Staff excellent. Room large with new furniture. Sofa bed. Kitchen well stocked with dishes, cooking supplies, fridge, and a dishwasher. Although the room is not cleaned unless you stay there for a while, there is at least a vacuum cleaner. Within walking distance of the port. I would stay here again. The street seems a bit unsafe late at night. Breakfast options too few for the price.
almost brand new (2008) with well-designed layout that included kitchenette, full bathroom with shower, and double bed I like firm beds, but mattress was a bit hard -- as I was travelling alone, I was able to use the second comforter as a mattress pad to cushion the mattress
THe cleanlinessa and first rate facilties provided in the rooms. It's location is good and the area around it is being upgraded. Lack of parking and some staff mot being able to understand english.
Very nice staff and the cleanliness is excellent (no ice machine though). The hotel is a 10 minute walk from the Old Port on a street parallel to Rue République, so that's good. However, the ethnic neighborhood where located is rather shoody (like a lot of Marseille, in fact!).
I like the apartment. It's very comfortable for 4 people with children. The receptions are not helpful.
Everything Washing machine in laundry not drying properly. Should have had an advisory notice fitted as staff knew of problem. Cost us 12 Euro instead of 3, and 4 hours to dry.
staff were always helpful and the room had heaps of useful things in it if staying for a long period of time. great location in nice part of city no fan in the bathroom
very nice and modern hotel compare others should have heater....its very cold during winter....
We liked everything.. 10 min from the centre.
excellent location, just next to the morning fish market, restaurants and shops! very nice and helpfull personnel!
The attitude of the staff on the last night of our stay. A 24 hour hotel normally has a 24 hour bar but we were refused service on the last evening by the night porter
The friendly people at the desk
It's location was superb and surprisingly quiet. Rooms a bit small and dark, but good bathroom (smelt a bit) and we enjoyed the 3 days we spent there. Good friendly staff. Need to carry bags up to the mezanine level to access the lift (elevator). Bathroom a bit smelly.
Location dark rooms
Sehr sauber. Top Lage. Zimmer relativ klein, aber ausreichend.
near to port no mini bar, too small lift, no safe box
Close to te Vieux port, close was parking place (10EUR per day), after checking out was possibility to let baggage at the reception, great people at the reception -
very friendly staff (1 of the receptionist girl can speak Russian), super excellent location, port nearby, cleanliness of bedroom, many channels on TV (even international), very quiet, creative design in the whole hotel.
Location, reception open 24h, friendly staff poor internet connection, elevator only from the second floor, room could be renewed.
Very welcoming and comfortable. Coffee facilities were welcome. It's unusual to have comfortable pillows in a hotel - yous are!
