What are the pros of staying at Hotel Med 70?
Excellent location and price, such a deal. Breakfast was so good! Excellent location, very close to Metro Stadium station.
What are the cons of staying at Hotel Med 70?
There were bed bugs! This was a very disappointing hotel. Bed was hard. No window in the room. No carpet in the bathroom. And kitchen was dirty for breakfast. Check in was a hustle. Small rooms and a lot of issues with bathroom, tv, socket plugs, etc. I paid for an upgrade on the room with a view offered in booking and did not get it. Too small of a room. Never stated that room has no safe on app. False advertising. The hotel has an open middle so sound carries to all floors. All good, very good location. Nothing. The room I was initially booked in had very awful wifi, fortunately staff resolved it rather quickly. Breakfast is offered for 1.5 hours, from 7 to 8:30. I showed up at 8:45 and 20 people were eating. But I was turned away because it was after 8:30am this to me seems simply like bad, inflexible customer service. The noise the street and from the mini fridge. Breakfast. we stayed 5 days and 4 days there was no hot water, which was terrible or the water was shut down because they were working on the pipes. Not what I expected. everything. DO NOT BOOK THIS PLACE. Smells bad, and wasn't properly cleaned. And what is worst was the bed, it was a horrible bed, every single movement was here across the entire hotel. I guess maintenance is something they don't care about in this place. Nothing. All went ok: service, room, location, breakfast. Everything was good. Location. The rooms were small and uncomfortable, it had bedbugs, not enough towels for 4 people or basic needs such as toilet paper or hand soap. The front desk personnel was initially friendly but overcharged WAY more than the initial booking amount. We also witnessed them overcharge other visitors 23 million pesos for 4 nights ( about 8 thousand US dollars ). so be aware if you are not from Medellin. We understand that prices were inflated because of the flower festival, but this was outrageous. to make matters worse they didn’t refund our money after we said we’d leave. we got the police involved and they helped recoup some of our money. Please reconsider your stay here unless you have $8k to spend, I assure you that you can fly to Monaco and stay at their 5 star hotel for less. This hotel was a 2 star hotel at best, being generous. furthermore, we were put in a tiny room , being four of us. there were no bed sheets, not enough towels, and barely enough soap for everyone. The hot water rarely worked, so your showers will be cold. , not too mention the wifi was extremely weak. overall, we really disliked our stay here. please reconsider. Bad bed no hot water to short time to breakfast 7 to 830 the towel is to used bad. Noise. Bed was noisy and bathroom didn't fill my expectations for the price we paid.
What are the best features of the rooms at Hotel Med 70?
The rooms have air conditioning and warm water to the bathroom tap which is unusual for Colombia. The room door has a solid lock with a deadbolt. The cable TV has many channels including ones from the United States where some can be set to audio English.
What practical information should I know about the breakfast at Hotel Med 70?
Breakfast is a very “light” breakfast, so if you eat a lot, not for you! Breakfast service from 7:00am to 8:30am not so great only few options egg arepas + cheese small fruit cup & drinks are hot chocolate or coffee or tea.
What are the main concerns about the hotel's location and safety?
The area is not safe for tourists. It was dirty, rowdy, unkempt and definitely unsafe. It was so loud also. There is no chance of sleep however tired you are. The hotel is in bad condition. The noise from the other guests kept us awake all night, no insulation. The location was convenient and the breakfast was good. The staff was nice and helpful.
