Bad service at restaurant. Took too long to bring breakfast. Quality of food regular.
For me this hotel is a haven of peace and comfort. My stay was from March 26 to April 9, and it was with sadness when I left for home. My room overlooked the lovely Plaza de Santo Domingo and I felt as if I were living in a castle. Although the building is historic the design and furnishings of my room was beautiful 21st century all the way, except for the magically high beamed ceiling and the gorgeous double door balconies. The full and healthy breakfasts were what sustained me through the days, dining every morning on the terrace was a true pleasure. Every person who works here is welcoming, kind and helpful. Being in Mexico is a wonderful place to be and staying at the Domingo Santo was the whipped cream on my Tres Leches cake. Thank you to all the staff, Rene upstairs and all the waitstaff and chefs, the housekeeping and gardeners, and to Jorge who was key to making my stay perfect. Oh, and hello to the guys at the front entrance and Mr. Gonzalez, the policeman.
It was all beyond good. I liked everything.
Guys are really trying to do their best. But they should do something about that windows situation or set a discount category for these rooms. I’m really thankful for management for letting us take a shower after checkout time, that was so nice!
Hotel has a fancy design and nice managmenet. But I was really disappointed when I realised, that you literally can’t stay in your room after 8.30 am. There is a MARKET right by the wall of the hotel. Imagine that you open your single window, and you see a guy staring at you, like he’s living with you in that room! You have only a thin window grill between you and this loud market activity. You can’t have any view from your room, because there is people hardly working right and there is tons of them! In the evening there is a people passing by your window, they could take anything from the table in your room ) And when windows are closed, there is literally no air to breathe. They have a nice fireplace, but that wasn’t working. I’ve asked two times, and they answered like «we are out of fuel for it». If it’s advertised, it should work, or you should remove any mentions of it, i believe. At the last day we killed a huge cockroach at the bathroom.
Right on the same square as the Diego Rivera murals in the Sec. Education building. Lovely rooftop restaurant, comfy beds, luxurious showers and excellent staff. Loved the city noises which ended before bedtime! Safe and easy walking to Belle Arts, House of Tiles and Zocalo. Good coffee right on the premises!
Don’t try driving to the property unless you’re okay with driving in the center of a city with a one way system and a busy mercado that you have to drive through!
We had fantastic room with bathroom upstairs what was amazing! I also love the view and the restaurant! They even have a DJ!
