Location is amazing. The view from the terrace and bar. Breakfast is really good. Staff are super friendly m.
Fan didn’t work in room. The dorm rooms are big and spacious but the private rooms are so so small!
Awesome location! Great old building.
Upon arrival we thought it was awesome, great location and awesome view, though it seems that any soul that the hostel may have ever had has been lost by trying to operate as a public restaurant, a public tour company, a huge hostel and a public roof top night club all at the same time. This leaves hostel guests without any space to enjoy some downtime except for a small balcony outside an ill equipped kitchen that is devoid, even of forks, let alone the space or amenities to prepare an actual meal. What’s more is that usually this space is taken up by a relatively large group of unhelpful staff that seem to rotate throughout the day. There is no covered space or indoor space to escape the rain, which usually leads to spending time in a somewhat sterile room, in a hostel that doesn’t allow the use of sites like netflix on their wifi network. The upstairs bar plays loud music at the rooftop on weekends, which would be great if the building wasn’t shaped like a vertical sound-tunnel aimed at your eardrums. If you’re not feeling techno and a large crowd that night then forget a quiet drink at the bar, a sleep or any other such luxuries. Apart from a nice guy in reception, that helped us with a new key card on our second day, we felt relatively unwelcomed and uncomfortable.
The location is fine. It had breakfast included
Where to start. I don’t want to understate this. If you’re a solo traveller please read this. This place is not a hostel. It’s a collection of awful, small, smelly, loud dorm rooms with a restaurant at the bottom and a roof terrace at the top. The roof terrace is open to the public and when I went up I was the only tourist there. Not necessarily a problem but if you want to meet like minded travellers this is not the place. The dorms are tiny, bed in the middle, no windows just wooden slats which keep the light out but not the sound. So there was a constant booming of people laughing and shouting and music until 5am!!! So you get all the negatives of a party hostel without any of the partying or social stuff
The fifth floor bar turns into a nightclub on weekends and the loud music can be heard far away- good luck getting any decent sleep.
Being pitched the tours.
