location was convenient.
mostly the moist, moldy smell in the air. but the hotel is also a bit eerie and weird. seems like a 1970s drug inspired design. It is in bad need of renovation.
The hotel rooms, decorations, amenities, and staff were excellent.
The hotel needs major renovations; phone lines, lights, and wall structure are in need of repair.
Parking attendants and Front Desk staff are the best
The self parking across from hotel is WAY cheaper regardless of what they tell you! This was really easy. Convenient location - walking distance to TONS of restaurants and shopping The staff were very friendly. Super cool decor and atmosphere, water, plants, courtyard, tiles, wood doors, windy hallways
I wouldn't want to pay the hotel's price of nearly $300 per night There was construction across the way during the days which was not conducive for midday napping! There was only 1 shade umbrella at the pool - all other shaded areas required rental fee. The valet was slow and a bit rude and may have dented car - but the front desk was VERY interested in resolving issue without hesitation so this may not be a norm. (not worth $$ though, just self-park)
I felt like the whole staff were young kids with no experience in customer satisfaction. While i was there for a wedding they lost several peoples luggage. Literally 2 hrs before the wedding started people didn't have their dresses or suits. The bridesmaid left her diamond necklace with in 20 minutes of check out she went back to get it, it was GONE! She begged the front desk to figure out who cleaned the room to get it back, she did get it back. I was woken up several times from people walking around on the floor above me and outside my hotel room. My husband slipped in the shower (which the set up is retarded) hurt his back, there is no traction and the tub is very slippery. Was not worth the money at all!!!! However, I do have to say the outside of the hotel is very beautiful but starting to look run down and not properly managed.
Great atmosphere and amenities. The pool was amazing as was the food. The staff was friendly and helpful.
The cell phone service was pretty awful. Other than that, nothing!
Loved the rooftop pool and bar with an outdoor fireplace, very relaxing. The restaurant in the hotel had a wonderful breakfast buffet and delicious food. The bathrooms were nicely done with marble and granite. The Asian inspired design makes you feel like you are somewhere overseas. I would stay here again. My son goes to the University of Miami and it was convenient to the campus and Coconut Grove was an affordable area with good restaurants and some shopping.
Rooms were not ready by check in time. We even arrived early and were told to put our name on a list. When we returned later at the posted check- in time, there was a long line of people waiting for rooms. The average wait was 30 minutes to over an hour for rooms to be available on a Tuesday in the off season.
Low class people screaming in the hallway at all hours of the night. Staff was supposed to contact me when our room was available and never received a call. An hour after check in time went to see the status of the room and it had been ready all along. Never going back.
The bed is good to sleep
It was a roach in the room, the room is too dark, the elevator are too slow, i think that we can find better hotel
the front door opening on its own and looks like it comes straight from the hobbit! way cool.. the deco and architecture are amazing!! having the option of the spa - very nice the tv in the bathroom - the large bathroom - very nice. the waiters in the dining room were very attentive and the lady at the front desk at 2am was very friendly! tea options were fantastic. would definitely stay here again!!!
Drinks are a little pricey, but its Miami! scrambled eggs were dry. $20 for breakfast buffet - most expensive fruit and cottage cheese I ever had lol.
I liked everything about The Mayfair. Lovely, non-corporate, boutique hotel in Coconut Grove. Beautiful pool, cabanas and poolside bar / food. Lovely, large rooms with private balcony with hot tub and lounger. Staff helpful. I would be delighted to stay here again and undoubtedly will. Also, great little shopping area directly across the street.
The bathroom set up was the best part. Also the overall layout with the deck was nice.
The balcony could have been cleaned off so you do not track dirt in and out of the room. There were no trash bags provided for the room. The misleading pictures of ocean front rooms because the hotel is not ocean front.
Love the hotel and amenities
Had to have technician operate jacuzzi
