The bed was comfy and the breakfast wasn't too bad. During the day the roof top bar was OK, the staff were very good. But this was offset by building work right next door. Which should have been mentioned during the booking.
This was no where near a 4 star hotel. The pictures are very misleading. They show bright airy rooms and amazing roof bar. The rooms stank of damp, the "suite" we stayed in was not a suite. If every room is a suite, then it's a standard room.Oh and they have a nice hottub in the room, that you can't use anymore and just make the outside look dirty and uninviting. The tiles were hanging off the ceiling, the TV was coming off the walls. I actually booked this as a bit of luxury for the first few days of our holiday and to be fair it ruined the start of it. The roof top bar closed at 8pm, so hardly enough time to enjoy it. Honestly I could write an essay of the bad points of this hotel, but it easier to say, don't bother.
Rooms have good space and location is great! Valet personal is fantastic
Where do I start... We were going to a Graduation ceremony and we have travelers from the UK, Tampa and South America coming at different times and different flights/cars. I booked 2 rooms for me and family. I called asking if it was possible to do an early check in. The service over the phone was appalling. First two calls went to the wrong department and they hang up or asked me to call again. The third time I talk with someone that basically told me off just for ASKING if it was possible. Again, hang up on me. Given that everyone had the hotel as a meeting point I couldn't change the plans. We arrived and the receptionist was doing anything but looking after our booking. Very rude. I presented my card and passport, she only gave me the keys for 1 room. I asked that I book 2 rooms and she answered like "I don't see it on my system". I had to look for the booking confirmation to king of proof to her that I booked two rooms. No effort what so ever to accommodate or check the booking from her part. Next day Breakfast was not really good. We had a vegan member and he basically was told that they didn't have anything on the menu and asked him to find somewhere else!. We then asked for a toast and juice so he could stay with us and the toast arrived when all the other plates were empty and burned. On top of that full of butter that is not Vegan!!! We were charged $18 dollars for that and Service charge! What an outrage!!! We didn't have breakfast there after that. On the third day we noticed that the we only had 1 towel in the room. They again told us off and asked us if we have left them on the pool or somewhere else. We didn't even went to the pool because when we tried they told us it was closed for a private party! After calling the reception we had to come downstairs and it was 9:00 pm before someone knocked at the door with a full set of towels.
The hotel room was very nice and the location is calm and one of the best in Miami from what we understood from local people. So if you prefer to be in the middle of Miami night life this is not a good option for you. If you came to Miami also see something else than Miami beach this location is the best option.
Most of the receptionists were not well behaved. They were not very friendly or willing to help. When I came to ask something I felt like I am disturbing them. I expected more from this hotel. Jacuzzi should be removed from terrace when it is not planned that it can be ever used. Roof top bar was closing too early.
Everyone was very nice, the front desk manager was very friendly. The catering manager was awesome
The valet need to be more informed about locations near mayfair, I had no housekeeping for 2 days I had to go look for them for clean towels.
Size of the room and suite are huge. Decor of the hotel, staff and location in the heart of coconut Groove is good as well. Restaurant and shops at 1 minute walking. The rooftop bar & pool is also good , but not as great as you image. Check in was fast and the check out was flexible.
Rooftop pool bit dirty, not well maintained, view is not great ( it’s at 7th floor) Lot of construction noise when I was there during week-dats, not all day long but still... by the pool I couldn’t relax. Room forniture also but aged.
The Mayfair Hotel and Spa is impossible to miss in the fashionable neighborhood beside Biscayne Bay. The Coconut Grove setting offers a lively setting for both the surrounding area and the hotel, which draws couples and families who want easy access to walkable streets.
The hotel is located in Coconut Grove, referred to as The Grove by locals, and across the street from CocoWalk shops and dining. It sits in the middle of Miami and offers a laid-back ambiance with upmarket boutiques, restaurants, and beautiful Biscayne Bay views. Within close distance are Miami Watersports, the stunning Italian-Renaissance-style villa known as Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, and Miami International Airport.
There are plenty of shopping, dining, and activity options off-site from the hotel, but on-site amenities are also plentiful. There is a Roman-style restaurant that serves all meals and dishes such as wood-fired pizza. The heated rooftop pool offers panoramic views and is a nice place to cool off. The deck is also lined with cabanas featuring flat-screen TVs and a poolside bar with cocktails and light meals. The hotel also features a 4,500 square-foot spa, 24-hour fitness center, and 15,000 square feet of event space.
Accommodations at the hotel are spacious suites with decorative features and an array of options. Rooms range from Mayfair Suites with king-size beds, sitting area, and Japanese soaking tubs on outdoor terraces. Executive Suites are larger, but Presidential Suites offer the most amenities and apace with private dining tables and bathroom TVs. Standard features in all rooms include large flat-screen TVs, free WiFi, stocked minibars, and coffeemakers.
The unique style of the hotel includes a Balinese interior courtyard and Art Nouveau touches, making it one of the more appealing hotels in the area.
