10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was one of the nicest Places I have stayed in. The owners were so nice and made us feel very at home. The decor is so quaint and stylish. Our bed was extremely comfortable. The breakfast was amazing and they had beautiful homemade scones fresh out of the oven. I couldn't recommend this guesthouse more... It's is nicer than most hotels I've stayed in with extra attention to the small details. I will most definitely return. They truly deserve this review.

Cons: Extra pillows needed
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Alberta and Alta are supreme hosts with a beautiful breakfast of what has been our best food in Ireland - home made scones and preserves, and Alta does a great omelette. Local advise on where to go is excellent too. Easy, free parking outside was also a nice change. Our room was very pleasantly decorated, not huge, but definitely very comfortable and more than adequate. There is a lovely sitting room to use as well. Really enjoyed our stay. Great to be near Cork and able to easily access what the area has to offer.
Cons: Nothing.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Hosts were very frindly and attentive. Great breakfast.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great surroundings and lovely property Enjoyed the hospitality of the hosts and they were very helpful Thanks very much Chris and Claire
Cons: All good
10.0 Excellent
Pros: When we imagined what it would be like in an Irish B&B, it was it. Carrol and Chris, the owners, made our stay unforgattable: Warm welcoming and over-the-top help with whatever we needed, starting with useful travelling tips and on with interesting stories about themselves and Irish history and culture. The breakfast was the best, too, with original cookings by Chris. My partner and I have been to over 40 B&B's in the past 7 years, and this one beats them all. A MUST VISIT if you visit the Cork area.
Cons: That we couldnt book more nights - the stay was PERFECT!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Excellent hosts, beautiful house, superb breakfast - I felt at home.
Cons: If you want a TV in your room, you'll be disappointed. If like me you prefer to sit in the lounge (with tea and cakes) then you'll be very happy
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Clare and Christopher were wonderful hosts interested only in pleasing us and our comfort. We loved their beautiful old house and property. The breakfast was top notch and we enjoyed interaction with other guests at their conversation inducing breakfast table.
Cons: My elderly cousin slipped and fell trying to get out of the tub where she had taken a shower. Not their fault. We probably should have asked for a room with a shower stall. Nevertheless, it was scary.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Extraordinary property with a magnificent house of character, tastefully decorated in an authentic style by its owners. Located in the countryside midway between the coast and Cork, an ideal location for visiting the area. Room and bedding very comfortable and cozy. Bathroom very well equipped. Exceptional breakfast with fresh and homemade products. The owners are charming and attentive to their guests needs.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Good old fashioned comfort. A good contrast to the characterless modern hotels and with the added benefit of friendly knowledgeable hosts.
Cons: Nothing worth mentioning
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What an oasis of comfort and style! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Willowhill, from the warm and friendly welcome to helpful restaurant suggestions, our hosts were wonderful and the house and surrounding gardens truly spectacular.
Cons: I wished we could have stayed longer!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We absolutely loved everything – the warm welcome, the cupof tea and biscuits by the fire on arrival. The helpfulness of our hosts, who made us feel the be were treasured guests rather than clients. The house is in perfect taste and the grounds are simply beautiful. Breakfast cooked by fear an ti, who has a gift for making sped-ciao strawberry muesli.
Cons: We loved absolutely everything and will go back at the first opportunity.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: • The welcome at check-in • The cleanliness • The spacious bathroom, fabulous bath tub and shower. The toiletries! • The food! The BEST burger I ever ate in my life! Everything exceeded my expectations!
Cons: I really can't fault anything. This was the most luxurious, comfortable, amazing experience I have ever had!
9.6 Excellent
Cons: Hotel was amazing. Only disappointment was room service. Ordered the rocket salad from the night owl menu which was served without the balsamic dressing. Also had the ice cream which was over priced for the one scoop that was served.
6.0 Good
Pros: Facilities
Cons: The hotel is hard to find. Even the GPS struggled to get us there. Old world atmosphere, with some unusual and welcome additions; a bottle of whisky at the reception desk to parch the thirst and ease the frustration of locating the place. Another fun touch, a putter and play practice green in the room. It is a nice place but would I stay there again? probably not. It's the little things that matter in a hotel and the dinning reception left us cold. We made dinner reservations and showed up on time, appropriately dressed, only to be kept waiting while others streamed by, were welcomed, and seated. Eventually,We were placed in a back room at what must have been the worst table in the place, center stage, traffic area in a room surrounded by cozy booths. The Food and service excellent, but the second rate treatment left a bad taste. So we move on, to a better experience somewhere else.
7.9 Good
Pros: Room was very tired and lacking in so many comfort points. The shower was very poor as was the water from the taps. Dreadful machine noise from outside all day until 11pm at night, started again early in the morning. The television was nearly unwatchable. No hooks in bathroom or bedroom for convenience. Bed very comfy and all very clean.
Cons: The dining room for breakfast was stiflingly hot and airless. The decor in bedroom and bathroom in room 331 needs a good upgrade.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff, Bar, Breakfast, Spa and Service all excellent.
Cons: The TV reception wasn't great, and the shower doors a little short.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were beautiful, clean, and spacious. We arrived early, got a room quickly, and even were upgraded to a suite just like that. The staff treated us like queens and kings, making us feel like part of their family. Everyone was cheerful and helpful during our stay, and the bartenders were eager to talk about local places to see and shop at. A highlight indeed for our Ireland trip.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything

Excellent host - The hosts were very friendly, and responded to queries at the earliest. They took utmost importance to ensure we felt at home ! The room was also very nice with all amenities needed.
Cons: We were visting Cobh and found the home slightly away from there. It took us 30 mins drive one way to reach Cobh - so if Cobh is your destination, look out for some place closer to it.

5.1 Okay
Pros: The breakfast was good.
Cons: When I arrived, the owner claimed he did not receive the fax advising of my reservation for a double room. He first sent me to a twin room which had little space. After complaining, he moved me to a room with two twin beds and said he would push them together. He did not do that. Overall I was unimpressed with the accommodations.

7.9 Good
Pros: I really enjoyed our stay. The hotel was so lovely and the room was amazing and the grounds around the hotel were amazing
Cons: The breakfast could have been better, I would have preferred a more buffet-style than the way it was.
5.4 Okay
Pros: The grounds were so peaceful. The bed was comfortable. Staff were very friendly and polite.
Cons: The room was really cold. Heating was extremly complicated and we had to just leave it. When we sat to breakfast on Sunday morning we quickly noticed a hair in our butter. The server was lovely. Changed this straight away and apologised. When we went to pay there was a mix up because someone signed their lunch to our room. The knob of the shower fell of when I tried to turn it on also.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was excellent, love an a la carte breakfast menu especially in 5 star, not all 5 stars have this Staff were really nice, 5 star experience without the stuffiness
Cons: No complaints for the hotel
7.1 Good
Pros: Lovely location, lots of space etc big bedroom.
Cons: Public areas Decor was really random, as if furnished from a car boot sale. Huge ugly chairs in random positions in corridors- BedRooms were good, clean, our room had wonky bedside lamp, and lacked the finesse of a 5* hotel.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The reception staff were very polite, professional and helpful. The food in Franchini's was lovely and the room was lovely and on par with other 5 star hotels.
Cons: The service at breakfast was very slow. People who arrived after us were served before us and there was a 15min wait before anyone took our order and a 20min wait then for the food.
4.2 Okay
Pros: Not much but the grounds were nice but limited, especially in wet weather
Cons: It looks incredible on the listing but it’s very far from being a five star hotel. The design is a little jumbled, the furnishings tatty, everything reeks of air freshener, the atmosphere isn’t great, the background music is terrible, the service is mediocre and the spa low par. The walls of our room were paper thin and we could hear every single word of everyone who walked by, we complained and after two hours and a lot of chasing up on our complaint, we got moved to a self catering lodge that obviously hadn’t been used in a while. It was a large space with very little furniture so felt vacuous and cold. There was no hot water or heating until we located the boiler ourselves and switched it on, no milk or coffee, the shower head had broken off and the bath panel was all cracked and broken scratching our legs. The WiFi didn’t reach the lodge and the tv reception was bad and kept cutting out. As for breakfast, this was pretty poor. We were invited to eat from the toasts and cereals etc but anything hot was to be an extra €20 each on top of our b&b price. Overall a very disappointing weekend away. I don’t recommend this place and we won’t be going back.

Cons: There truly wasn't anything I didn't like.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: John and Lorraine are most gracious hosts. Large comfortable room. Although an old building the room was modernised with every comfort. First class bedding and towels. Amazing breakfasts made by Lorraine. Our hosts are also very knowledgeable about what to see and do in Cork and surrounds. Everything within walking distance.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was all right. Great place, near to city center. Very tasty breakfast. Friendly helpful and kind staff- Lorraine and John. Thank you very much.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: John and Lorraine were outstanding hosts! They were accommodating with our early check in, made a great breakfast every morning, kept our room clean and were great fun to talk to! The location was fantastic, just a 15 minute walk to anywhere in Cork City center and across the street from the train station and close to the bus station for easy day trips.
Cons: The only thing I can think of is that the room was a tiny bit loud being on the street, but nothing some ear plugs didn't fix.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Liked that they had all the same amenities as an expensive hotel. Fluffy towels, wonderful bedding, hair dryer, face clothes (some hotels don't provide these) ironing board, safe, fridge, little shampoo bottles, etc. But paid half the money!
Cons: We didn't think ahead about having luggage to lug up and then down the stairs. Managed though. Also, our roon would have been a bit small with all our bags...but we were in the family room which had a second bedroom with two beds we could put our bags on...so worked out fine. Was still 1/2 the price of a hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lorraine and John were lovely. Gave good advice about where to go and what to see. The place was extremely clean and really central so we could walk to a lot of places. The places we couldn’t walk to we were right by the train station so we could jump on a train.
Cons: Nothing

Pros: The staff are outstanding - extremely pleasant and helpful-5 star treatment The restaurant lighting adds great atmosphere to a lovely room with stunning views over the city
Cons: The fact that the white wine was not chilled either by glass or bottle -the suggestion of putting ice in to cool it seemed rather unusual !!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The terrace is lovely!! Jolee who checked us in was so kind and friendly! Made a lovely start to our stay
Cons: The rooms are really dark and the food is average.
10.0 Excellent

Cons: Location and signage of lifts.
7.9 Good
Pros: recently refurbished modern hotel, good size room with huge bed, Beautiful views over the city and garden. Reception staff were brilliant. We found it convenient to leave the car at hotel and walk to city centre, than took taxi back
Cons: expected a little more from the leisure center for a 4star, but everything was clean and in good order. the bright color scheme throughout the hotel is sometimes hit and miss, its a fine line between modern-art and cheep and cheerful. it should be balanced with elegance in some areas.
7.1 Good
Pros: Room was clean
Cons: Room too small, hotel hard to locate, quite a hilly walk to city, need reservation to eat there.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: The pool and the bed and the breakfast.
Cons: We didn't like the coffee and when we ordered a pot we got a very small one. We found some of the staff a little unfriendly.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The room is spacious and the bed/pillows are very comfortable. The breakfast is very good. It was quite far from the hotel entrance to the reception area. When we drove the hotel, it seems like a forest. It surprised us that there was a golf club in this hotel.
Cons: The staff we provided us check-in service was not professional enough, which made us waiting for a long time. She said she need verify our bank card, while several times later she still didn't find the bank card number. until we expressed our dissatisfaction, she asked a senior staff to help her. This doesn't match a five star hotel. We ordered room service for dinner, the guy sent the dinner to our room is quite professional, but the food taste was just so so. We went to the spa room asking for service, while the lady working there doesn't seems happy to serve the guests.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Stayed with my daughter as a treat for one night. Found the staff so friendly and nice they made the stay so enjoyable. Bedroom was bright, clean and the bed was so comfortable. Pros: The hotel and rooms were very attractive and clean. The restaurant was fine.
Cons: The room was on the warm side and the only bedding was a duvet. We prefer a sheet with a blanket.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic. Stayed 7 nights, would go back to Ireland just to stay at this hotel. Rooms were big, comfortable, and clean. Staff was wonderful, especially Manny at the front desk. Went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. Restaurants were good, location was central to everything. Highly recommend !

Pros: The ambience was very relaxing , the breakfast was superb !
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great large room with all facilities incl wifi. Great breakfast with eggs cooked to order. Great evening meal in restaurant. We are world travelers staying in 3-4 star chain hotels, we wish every hotel was this good! We never heard one plane take off! Stay here. We cancelled a city centre hotel in Cork on arrival because of traffic and limited parking. i.e. No parking! Stay at this hotel ! You will be pleased. Staff are very helpful too!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Next to airport. Nice, clean room. Helpful staff.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hotel right next to long term parking and airport terminal
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent, clean hotel with an extremely convenient location. It was a wonderful value for the price.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: One of the best airport hotels in the country Always a pleasure to stay there. Excellent, friendly staff.
5.7 Okay
Pros: Location and cleanliness, except for being a smoking room, of the hotel are very good.
Cons: We had to book online at the last minute. Booked 3 rooms for 3 adult family couples. When we got there we realized with the rooms given, no way to tell online, we could get away with 2 rooms as they were big rooms. We asked to change and weren't allowed because of the online booking. Also one day of the rooms assigned was a smoking room that smelled very strongly of cigarettes, again asked to change and weren't allowed to. Rooms were quite pricey as well, the most expensive night on our 2 week vacation was at this hotel. Had breakfast the next morning and one room came with breakfast, no idea why?
10.0 Excellent
Cons: Breakfast staffing levels didn’t match the volume of guests. Slow to seat with queue and staff looked very rushed.
9.7 Excellent
Cons: Great overall. Slow service in lobby area for the lobby menu was only complaint.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We just stayed here to catch our flight for the next morning to London. The staff were very helpful as to where to obtain gas close by so we could turn our car in that day and they arranged for shuttle to take us to airport early the next morning. They also showed us where to easily catch bus to downtown Cork as we had enough of driving on left side of road. LOL The area is industrial business but so very easy to reach airport. We were glad of the location. It was worth the money. Using the bus to travel to downtown Cork was easy and wonderful not to have to deal with the traffic. Brenda H Broken Arrow OK USA

Pros: Beautiful spacious room with lovely toiletries. Staff very friendly and accomodating. Our breakfast delicious. The whole place is gorgeous. Didn’t use the pool but went for a nosey and it was the nicest pool I have ever seen.
Cons: There is no mirror beside the table to dry hair or straighten hair. The only mirror in the room has no plug near by!!!! For the price of the room this is really something that should have been thought out. Felt the wine in the bar was a bit steep. 7.50 euro for a glass of wine!!!!!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The sea views from the room were lovely. Thoroughly enjoyed the Lively Lighthouse bar atmosphere, food and drink. The staff were lovely. It was also nice to relax in the large lounge bar later in the evening.
Cons: One minor negative was the microwaved scrambled egg at breakfast. Although that would not prevent me from booking again.

9.4 Excellent
Pros: While the wait staff (excluding the bar staff) were rather helpful, the one working elevator was slow, the spa did not have any openings, and we received a 3am wake up call that we did not authorize. For a luxury hotel, they have some work to do.
9.6 Excellent

Cons: Dinner menu poor. Jaccuzi not working.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Kingsley was a great place to settle down In Cork. The staff were professional and took pride in their work. The rooms were nice and clean. My wife and I really enjoyed our stay.
Cons: I didn't mind this actually but the Kingsley is about a 15-20 minute walk to the city center. You could take a cab or walk it. The reason i didn't mind was because it was far enough away that you weren't surrounded by the noise.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely room. Great staff. Nice breakfast
Cons: Nice restaurant but expensive for the food on offer. Wine was very expensive.

Cons: N/a
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff was incredible. I arrived late, was accommodated upon arrival. I wanted to check out later, they were willing to work with me— I even didn’t want to carry my bags around once I checked out and they offered to hold them at the reception desk for me! Breakfast exceeded my expectations. They give you a little menu to choose from PLUS there’s a little buffet bar of meats, cheeses, pastries, juices, and jams. It was perfect and included in the cost already. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and I loved that the room key had to be inserted to use the lights— environmental friendly!
Cons: My shower was stuck on a specific temperature so it was a tad too warm for me... the location is also on a steep incline and I’m not a fan of hills. Both no big deals whatsoever, this place was well worth it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything!!

Pros: Idyllic
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
8.8 Excellent
Pros: I loved the location, great view of the countryside but a short distance from local town. The old style buildings around the main house were beautiful. The dark winding driveway up to the house was mysterious and made the place feel like it was a well kept secret. I loved the bedroom, very old style with antique furniture and a very comfy bed. Bottled water in the room, very clean and homely. The rest of the house was unique with old style fireplaces and dressers and sash windows. Something very romantic about this place. I will definitely stay there again.
Cons: I couldnt say anything negative about Barnabrow House.
7.9 Good
Pros: Location was great.
Cons: Shower was not hot enough
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Beds were very comfortable and room was so clean. The walk around the area was short but perfect for an after dinner stroll
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Rooms were amazingly decorated with lots of pillows and old style furniture and lovely large bathroom and plenty of towels - very comfortable. Again more suited to couples or honeymooners. Ballycotton was a lovely harbour village situated a few miles down the road with wonderful views and friendly people.
Cons: Bit confusing with Barn a brow cottages and Barn a brow country house though flags outside were welcome sight. Reception closed at 5pm so had to phone to attract attention of arrival. Layout caters more for wedding parties rather than casual visitors.
7.1 Good
Pros: We loved the Breakfast food and presentation. Lovely grounds and location so close to Cloyne
Cons: There was poor telephone reception. It would have been nice to have a small TV in the room.
