10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was excellent - Jackson is a fantastic cook and host! The house warm and cozy.
Cons: We had to go home and back to work.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was ok. Fresh fruit, tea, coffee in abundance. Cooked breakfast okay. The staff- Allie and Jackson were excellent. They made my stay great! Jackson actually Called me Uber and offered to pay if I had no cash on me. I thought that was AWESOME, SELFLESS!!!! That had never before happened to me!! They also provided the best snacks. My First trip to PA, it was wonderful!
Cons: There is nothing I did not like. My host-Jackson, gave me directions to wherever I needed to go. They had maps, magazines and pamphlets about about the town and all the events happening as well as dates.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Jackson greeted us the moment we arrived. Even had little Bananna Nut muffins for us. We stayed in the Jade room which was decorated with different antique items. The bed was comfy cozy with a fireplace nearby. Relaxed in the Jacuzzi tub on the cold frigid day. Breakfast was amazing a Bananna Nut bread french toast with egg, bacon, fresh fruit and fresh brewed coffee and orange juice. Jackson was very personable and easy to converse with. We recommend this Bed and Breakfast highly. Thank you for your hospitality. Sincerely, Darryl and Robin
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Mr. Jackson was a wonderful host. What a great place if you like Victorian houses. The Amber room was amazing and very comfortable. Antique shops are everywhere in this area. No shortage of places to dine either. Breakfast was great with Jackson making a meal around my dietary needs. Fresh asparagus in Pa during January....Awesome We will be back for sure and Thanks again to Jackson & Allie for a great stay.
Cons: The weather in Pa but that is no fault of theirs. Don't really have any negatives. We might try the cabins next but we will see.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I brought my wife for a 3 days trip to the antique stores of Adamstown. We had a great stay. The B&B is very comfortable and very much like a house more than a hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. the breakfast was delicious and copious. The room (Jade) was large and all all the comfort. There is a gas fire and a Jacuzzi in every room which make it luxurious after a long day of walk.
Cons: Slippers in the bathroom? It is just a detail.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: This was just the place we were looking for!! I was searching for a cute B&B for reasonable rate and this was just the place. The Amethyst inn is a 1860's old Victorian with all the charm you would expect from an older house. Each room was individually decorated that included a fireplace and a jacuzzi bathtub! And it was very clean. I was expecting it to be a little stuffy considering how old the house is, but that wasn't the case. Each morning breakfast was specially made for us by the house manager / chef, Jackson, who didn't disappoint. I felt like I was at a 5 star restaurant with the care and detail that the took with the food. We would absolutely return for a getaway again and will recommend the Amethyst Inn to anyone!
Cons: The one draw back was that it was 20-30 mins away from the city. We aren't really into antiquing so we had to travel a bit for the shopping experience.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The fresh chef-prepared breakfast was wonderful. Little touches like fresh rosemary in the diced breakfast potatoes made the breakfast extra special. I really appreciated the white linen and the beautifully set tables when coming in for the meal. The entire mansion and carriage house has been beautifully restored/maintained with what appears to be its original architectural details. It is charming and welcoming. Oh, and did I mention our room had a jetted tub? Yes, they know how guests want to start their day!
Cons: My pillow was too high. I would have preferred one of the three pillows to be a bit less puffy. But my husband thought they were just perfect!

8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel and room was very clean. The breakfast was great. I went down to the bar area and the food and drinks were good also. my children enjoy the pool as well.
Cons: The website said free parking when it really wasn't free parking. We got our ticket validated and still had to pay cause they said the ticket system was going in and out. I arrived early at 2:00 am and was told that I can pay half the room price and would be still have to pay full price for my regular chrck in. I was fine with that until I had to end up paying full price which means I was charged twice.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I booked this hotel because we were attending a concert across the street at the Santander Arena. It was a great location for before and after the show.
Cons: Our room did not get cool even though we set the thermostat to 64 on the cool setting.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The man greeting us at the door on the 2nd shift was amazing ! My aunt has dementia and he made her feel so special every time he saw her.
Cons: I needed to move my booking date out several weeks and they would not do it unless I cancelled and paid full price for the 4 nights. I did not wait until the last minute but tried changing over a month in advance. I also left an item in the room. I talked with a manager who put me into his voicemail so he could ask housekeeping the next day. Said they would call me but never heard back from anyone. It was only a bed pad for my aunt but at $50 for a new one I would have liked to have gotten that one back.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved this hotel! The staff were so nice, and accommodating. It was my daughter's birthday and they really made her feel special. The restaurant was great too. The food was delicious which was unexpected. Pool was great. We can not wait to go back!

9.5 Excellent
Pros: The room was exceptional. And the warm cookie was a nice welcome.
Cons: For the price and quality of this hotel I was a little surprised at how poor the sound quality was. I heard a lot of slamming doors throughout the night. And when I first checked in I could hear the music in the room next door as clear as if I was playing it myself.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were in town to visit Albright College, the location of the hotel was convenient not only to the college but shopping and restaurants. The staff was friendly and helpful.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Convenient to WWII Weekend.
Cons: Price has gone up, but staffing appeared inadequate for a sold-out time. There were delays restocking breakfast items, tables were not cleaned in timely fashion, and there was only one person at the front desk at check-in--which took an inordinately long time. Have stayed here for years, but this year, surprisingly, the property did not live up to prior experiences.

Pros: Everything. The room was very spacious . The fireplace made the room cozy. The bed and sofa were comfortable. The staff was friendly, and everyone had a smile.
Cons: The dishes, and glasses that were provided required me to hand wash, prior to using. The glasses had a greasy film, and the back of a plate was gritty. Not a big deal since I would have washed them anyways.

Cons: The room was too small. Hard to move around in the room with 2 adults and 2 kids (we are average size).
7.5 Good
Pros: Always consistent

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location. Clean and comfortable.
5.8 Okay
Pros: The common spaces were nicely decorated and clean.
Cons: For the money ( $235 a night) the room was small and not well appointed. The bathroom shared a barn-style door with the closet, and didn't close all the way. The room was poorly designed and cramped for the money. (It was supposed to be a "deluxe" room.) The free breakfast was terrible. There was not enough food to accommodate all of the people in attendance, and the food quantity and voice was low quality.

Pros: comfy bed, pillows, and nice TV. Location is ideal.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were actually booked into another area hotel which was so bad we left after the 1st night of a two day stay in the area. After making the reservations here I called them as we had to get out of the terrible place we were in and after explaining our situation to the Courtyard staff they said "to come right over they had a room available and get out of where you are". Got there at 10am and they already had the keys made for our room. The staff at Courtyard made our trip accommodations much better than where we were and we enjoyed the remainder of the visit in Reading. We thank the Courtyard staff for being able to accommodate us with a very early check in. Great place to stay, great service and staff.

For us non-morning people this was one of the best parts.

Pros: Needed a hotel for a concert at the Nightclub Reverb for Saturday. My boyfriend and I were not from the area and were lucky to find such a great hotel close to everything, but still far enough away to be quiet.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Convenient location and nice outdoor pool. Free breakfast was nice.
Cons: The room was not cleaned and no towels for 2nd night. There was broken glass on carpet by bed.
5.8 Okay
Pros: I enjoyed the delicious breakfast and the staff who brought the breakfast out were very pleasant and helpful. However one staff behind the service desk and one particular housekeeper were extremely unprofessional! The maintenance man was magnificent and extremely helpful to my 72 year old mother. We highly appreciate his awesome help!
Cons: The housekeeper never came to my room to get soiled towels so I went down the hall where I saw a housekeeper with her cart. I asked her who do I give my soiled towels to and she walked over to a room that had a long shot and she pulled a string that sounded like a bell rang and told me to drop the towels down the shoot. I never had to do that before at a hotel myself but I figured ok then. Well...nearly 10 minutes later I get a call from the front desk telling me I was not supposed to put the towels in there myself and I was not permitted in that room and if any of them are stained I will be charged. After talking to the girl I realized the housekeeper had lied and wouldn't admit she showed me where to put them. I addressed my concern to that housekeeper and she totally denied to my face showing me where to bring the soiled towels. I'm from out of state and wouldn't even know where to put soiled towels in any hotel. Housekeepers always came and picked them up. She also have me clean towels so that proves I wasn't anywhere I should not have been. She was laughing in my face telling me I need to go to the front desk. I was NOT at all happy. Some claimed she couldn't speak English but yet she understood me just fine and told me clearly where to put my soiled towels. This in in incidents made me feel very uncomfortable and unwelcomed during my stay there.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great location, hotel hands lots of amenities, pool , fitness center and even a laundry room.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: That there was this great restaurant right in front of the hotel.

1.0 Poor
Pros: Easy to find and was clean
Cons: The floor we were on had teenagers running and screaming ibavk and forth on our floor we reported it 3 times on the 4th time ask to be moved course they said they weren't any open rooms they promised to come up But nothing was done st 1am still going
3.7 Mediocre
Cons: The bed is not comfortable at all. The closet has water water damage and molded. Some front desk stuff are not helpful at all. Won't stay there again.
4.5 Okay
Pros: I was lured by the historical aspect of the hotel.
Cons: This hotel needs significant care and renovations. It is not clean. The wallpaper in the halls is peeling. The carpet is worn. The curtains are not functional in the room where we stayed. The water temperature and pressure are inconsistent. I could go on.
9.7 Excellent
Cons: Didn't like hearing that it will be permanently closing.
3.7 Mediocre
Pros: The room was ok, if not a little dirty and the carpet was wet. Enjoyed the in room fridge and microwave. Enjoyed the high floor request was accommodated. Enjoyed he free parking. The elevators were prompt.
Cons: Ok...first, checkin. When there is an obvious line, don't help they people being rude and cutting in first! It tells me that you don't care about your guests. Then there was the flies. Oh the flies. In the evening, we joined friends for a game night, pre-wedding activity and while it was ok, the room had a major fly problem. They were on the tables, on the food, on our drinks. It was terrible. And there was no indication the hotel was interested in fixing that. Then, at breakfast, the flies were back and EVERYWHERE! They were on the food, the drinks, the baked goods, the "clean" plates, our table, and on the people. Approaching the coffee station made them buzz all around and get in your coffee and it was gross. The hotel also was very disorganized as far as the wedding details, and we little to no help to guests. And finally, at check out, they handed me a bill and it was for more money, above what we had already paid in advance. Waiting for that to come through on my card now. Overall, if you want to simulated what a hotel in Botswana is like, stay at the Abraham Lincoln. I've stayed in boatswains, so I can make that comparison. Old building, hardly helpful staff, dirty rooms, and flies every where.
7.6 Good
Pros: Rooms were clean, bed was nice.
Cons: The front of the hotel is really scary. I was not sure if the hotel was actually there because it looked closed.
6.2 Good
Pros: Excellent customer service at front desk.
Cons: Room was clean but hallway on 16th floor had very musty, stale odor.

Cons: Property was unclean and unappealing. When I pulled up to register, there was what appeared to be a dirty undergarment in the middle of the driveway, in front of the doors. At the front counter, there was a towel laid out collecting dirty water dripping from the ceiling. The elevator floors were filthy, and the first floor button light did not work. Room was ok, but only decaf coffee was in the basket - no regular.

Cons: We were there with friends - I booked two rooms - and both of us had to move rooms because the AC was not working on one of the hottest days of the summer, and they didn't know when maintenance could help. Once in our new room, things were broken. Just not a place I'd go to again ..... even though it was cheap.
