Pros: The place was just beautiful!!!! The hosts are really kind and helpful, the breakfast was rich and tasty, the option to take bikes to the lake was great and the view - the best. We order the smallest room, which is less recommneded, because it has no view and its really small. Beside that, everything was super!

Pros: Very nice staff and good breakfast. Rooms simple but clean.
Cons: Getting there by car is a bit complicated but once you get it it is OK... (better to go direct to the public car park located under the square... The pedestrian exit is just meters away from the Hotel
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location right in the centre of the old town. Lots of very good restaurants and livily atmosphere. The Hotel was spotless with quaint olde-world decor. The manager was very pleasant and helpful
Cons: The reception and rooms started one floor up from the entrance, which meant that everyone had to use the stairs. as there was no lift, which would be difficult for anyone with a disability. HOWEVER, the manager kindly carried our cases up and down when requireed.
7.5 Good
Pros: Good location, spacious room, friendly staff
Cons: In the booking.com ad it said there was parking when in fact there’s just a public car park near the hotel at €10 for 24 hrs

Cons: All was ok
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was good, with croissant, fresh orange juice, cheese, toasts etc. Great service by owner. Located just opposite tourism office, and 3min walk to the bus stand.
Cons: The place becomes lively in the evening, the bar on the ground floor next door receives plenty of locals. Kids play in the square nearby. So very noisy. But on a positive note you get the real life immersion into the basque life!
7.5 Good
Pros: When we arrived, the manager even found us a parking place, and helped us back to the Hotel with our luggage. The room was spacious and comfortable. There was a stocked fridge, and the breakfast was excellent. The following morning, the manager carried our bags back to the car.
Cons: The closest you can get with a car is 150m, and parking needs to be found wherever a space is free in the area, which means you could be driving around for ages. The rooms overlook the town square, so if you would like an early night, forget it. At the weekend, people are eating, drinking, and chatting close by until 4am or 5am. Then at 6:30 - 7:00 the street cleaners arrive with fan assisted rubbish blowers.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I enjoyed the fruit, fresh orange juice and the ability to toast my own gluten-free bread.
Cons: It would be nice to have gluten-free muffins available for those like me who can't eat gluten.

Cons: Nobody in the hotel speaks English. The hotel is an old building, walls are not straight, the floor is old wood which is uneven and the floor is sloping to one side.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely old historic building. Nicely furnished with a mix of antique and modern furnishings.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: I miss traditional bread and cheese for breakfast. I would have been a better match with such a lovely place
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I liked everything about the hotel and the family running it. They were so nice, not speaking English but managing to understand each other, extremely helpful people. We stayed there as we had a family member at the hospital in another village so didn't spend any time in Bergara, but it was the best place to sleep in. Comfy beds, clean room and bathroom, window with wooden blinds that kept out the night party noise from the street.
Cons: The door at room 13 is slightly lower than it should be, so you get the light and noise from the corridor, but it was quiet generally. We just had a strange feeling because of not being able to close the door properly. It's an old house with history and they preserved the wonky door, but that needs to be fixed someday. Still slept perfectly.

Pros: The place, the actual building, everything was impressive.

Pros: Friendly and helpful. Clean accommodation.
10.0 Excellent

The rooms are decorated in a modern sober style and have good-clean bathrooms. With its location above the village offers spectacular views below. Restaurant of good quality at very affordable prices (specially the daily menus).

2.5 Mediocre
Cons: Poor customer service. I have called the hotel number with 3 hours in advance to let them know that I would arrive later then expected. Nobody picked up the phone nor could I leave a message because that tech advancement was missing. I have arrived at the location, late as expected, and nobody answered the door bell or the phone. Had to book another hotel and my expenses doubled because of the poor customer service provided by the hotel that looked great on the reviews.

7.7 Good
Pros: Wonderfully welcoming staff. Gorgeous bathroom (weird comment, but it was great).
Cons: Well, be warned, smoking is still acceptable all over Spain. It was pretty overwhelming in the dining room.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was in the mountains, overlooking Mondragon. It had lovely views of the town and neighbouring mountains. The hotel was very modern inside, beautiful big rooms, great bar (with fantastic prices), and the evening meal was brilliant. Lots of countryside to explore, but sitting out on the terrace overlooking the town with a glass of wine was lovely. My two young girls enjoyed the playground also, and there was plenty of space to play. We were only there for one night, but could easily have stayed a week. Highly recommended.
Cons: None whatsoever.
6.3 Good
Pros: I wanted a hotel that would break up a long journey and this hotel was in the right place. The location is stunning, on the side of a mountain with great views, just outside the town of Mondragon which you need to drive through to get to the hotel. Could be difficult if you were using a map but the sat nav took me straight to the front door. The rooms are large and of a standard you would expect in a classy city centre hotel and have wifi or plug-in internet access. The bar is small and do snacks and although I didn't use the restaurant I was told it was a bit expensive. Breakfast is included but don't expect too much, if I had paid extra for it I would have been very disappointed. Good value for money at €50.
Cons: Make sure you learn a little Spanish as the staff didn't speak any English on my two visits.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent hotel and staff. Excellent value for money. We will go there again
Cons: Breakfast Buffet was not too good. No eggs, bacon etc. and not enough pastry.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location and ambience of this hotel was excellent. The dinner was great and staff excellent
Cons:
7.6 Good
Pros: The hotel is obviously new and the decor is lovely and fresh. The rooms are very spacious, light and airy. There are lovely views and is in a quiet position. Although the staff don't speak english, they do have their restaurant menus in more than one language which was helpful - the food selection wasn't huge and was quite basic, but it was nice food. We booked this hotel as a stop off on a longer journey and our choice was based on the availability of private onsite parking.
Cons: It is a bit of a pain to find and up steep hills (not good if you have a trailer!)
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The whole experience was simply great. Extremely enjoyable.
Cons: Nothing
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful surprise and the best of all the hotels booked through your service.

7.5 Good
Pros: Warm friendly staff, location
Cons: Very institutional. No Air conditioning. Odd bathroom layouts. Very noisy building. Foam mattresses and pillows. Breakfast buffet not worth it, it’s not refreshed so unless you know what’s there, you don’t know it’s missing.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very pretty area, very peaceful. Nice small village Elorrio nearby, you could walk it. Clean room, Nice bathroom. Good breakfast buffet for around €9,00
Cons: Missing a fridge and tea/coffee facilities for this price. WiFi was not strong enough.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: We booked the Elorrio because it was in easy taxi range of the fabulous Asador Etxebarri where we went for lunch (the taxi, booked for us by the hotel, was €13 each way) so it was just intended as a base for that, but in the end we enjoyed the hotel in its own right too. It is quite simple, but the people were nice, they did a good breakfast and you can eat on the terrace admiring the scenery.
6.8 Good
Pros: Storage in garage. Friendly staff.

Cons: Restaurant was a little bit "Cafeteria" but the food was OK
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff were superb. Very easy to get to Asador Etxebarri, which is just a few miles down the road. NB Booking.com states that pets are allowed - they are not.

Pros: Good location.
Cons: Hotel is old, you can get better for same price in the area.
7.5 Good
Cons: We wondered why when there were 2 of us that only 1 bath towel, 1 hand towel and 1 bidet towel was provided. Also toiletries were just for one person.
8.0 Excellent
Cons: Price was a bit high. Otherwise, a nice, well located hotel.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: This hotel was a charming renovation -- more comfortable and up-to-date than I'd expected. Staff was warm and helpful. I had business in Mondragon, but the hotel is also midway between San Sebastian and Bilbao, so I decided to make it my base in the Basque Country. For each of three days, I found (free) parking on the street, practically in front of the hotel. Bilbao was an easy (and spectacularly beautiful!) 45 minute drive, actually adding to my pleasure; I was able to get to the Guggenheim and other attractions with time to spare -- and I appreciated having a quiet, small-town retreat after a long night out.
Cons: Not a lot of great restaurants nearby -- but then again, I had lunch at a great place in the mountains just outside of town, and some world-class dinners in San Sebastian and Bilbao.
