Friendly staff. Lovely hotel with great food. Would stay again.
Everything from start to finish
A lovely building with mostly good staff and nice food We had to wait a long time for our dinner order to be taken, the restaurant was cold and we felt that it proved to be a very expensive one night stay at £300
Beautiful Art Deco interior, excellent attentive staff, excellent food, unique rooms, fantastic sea views - a piece of living history. We will return soon!
Interesting to appreciate the refurbishment of an iconic building.
The grand spiral staircase beckons one to ascend - it is a magnificent yet functional design. The glazed terrace invites relaxation and the bed was one of the most comfortable that I have ever slept in. The rotunda bar, whilst being expensive was not unreasonably so and its design is out of this world. The room was very well "turned-out" and cleanliness was next to none - full marks to the housemaids. Reception staff were very willing and able to help with all matters that arose The food was gourmet style and very tasty. However, I do not like feeling hungry after finishing a meal, as I did when leaving your restaurant. Food quality excellent, food quantity very poor value for the price.
Hotel staff were friendly and made up room swiftly. The rooms were designed very well beautiful surroundings. Spa was closed. As we checked in we were told that the spa was done that corridor but was closed today. Not much use to us. Should have been informed before. If you were there only for a relaxing spa break you would have been very disappointed
magnificent art-deco interior, fabulous views from very comfortable and functional bedrooms, excellent food served in lovely glass fronted dining room overlooking Morecambe Bay, difficult to find fault, one night was not long enough
Staff & warmth + view excellent The Dinner & Lunch menu was the same There was nothing plain on the menu ie, the pea & ham soup tasted sweet! the steak was served with Cray fish & was tough.Who ever designed the rooms should get their 70 + grannie to sleep in one! I could write a book about what is wrong with the rooms.
Decor of room excellent, breakfast very good. Car parking nightmare & not adequately explained. Unacceptable to have to leave room to keep'moving' car - paying considerable parking, walking distances in rain etc. Room also way toohot with noobvious means of cooling - windows not opening.
We thought the staff were all very pleasant, friendly and helpful. The room was wonderful and big as was the bed. It has a really nice relaxing atmosphere and we'll definitely recommend and come back.
Nice bar and food, staff very friendly Bit noisy in the street below (central location)
Room and breakfast
We stayed in the executive suite and it was great. Particluarly like the small touches, such as fresh coffee and a cafetiere in our bedroom. The breakfast was excellent.
Staff were professional and friendly. May be as a minor point put some 'night service' on as we couldnt get a drink after 9.00pm as the bar was too busy.
The hotel was ideally situated, and the room had been fitted out beautifully. Whilst in the shower, the hot light fitting fell out of the celing on to my husband's chest. Upon reporting this to staff, there was no apology.
The room was delightful and in the attic!
helpful staff and delicious breakfast pity there was no on-site parking, but the Parksafe park was very handy and reasonably priced
Everything. The room was lovely, well appointed and cared for, the breakfasts were delicious! I had just found out that my painful 'sprain' was a broken leg(!) and they could not have been more kind and helpful no
Supremely comfortable bed gave us the best nights sleep in ages! The walls are "paper" thin and noisy if other guests choose to be a bit loud; the bathrooms need a makeover now
The friendlyness and helpfulness of the staff,it was also easy to find and a very relaxing break.
I thought the breakfast was excellent, in all aspects, as good as I have ever experienced. Neither my wife or I slept at all during the night, due to an exceptionally loud snorer in the adjacent room, so I would have to say the sound insulation between bedrooms was totally inadequate. This coloured our view of the hotel, to the extent that we would probably not take the chance again. Unfortunate, since everything else was good.
Pretty designed Country Hotel with sufficient spaces and comfort. Entrance hall and bar very convenient, especially open fire place. Meantime the hotel starts to suffer from lack of maintanence; i.e. hall door closes with hard bang, entrance doors very narrow, don´t open automatically, difficult to enter with luggage, interior should be improved to keep 4star category.
Our sat nat kept giving us the wrong Green Lane in Lancaster. The night porter gave us very clear directions to the hotel and was very welcoming when we arrived. We only stayed one night arriving very late but the food. ambience and service at breakfast was excellent.
Fantastic breakfast, great location, just generally a good experience. The only complaint we have is about the evening meal - the dish wasn't as explained by the waiter and the service was slow. In addition, it wasn't good value for money.
Very handy for the university. Nothing that I did not like.
No problems at all; only stayed overnight. Some people may think new restaurant is a little like a cafe, rather than an exclusive hotel facility. However, no adverse comment from us.
Ease of finding it Restaurant is poor, menu is the worst I have encountered in a 4* establishment. Bar and restaurant prices inflated (£4.55 regular glass of house wine, £26 for 3 course basic menu that was almost inedible). Noise levels through the night into early morning (0500) from their outside hot tub area. Do you want anything else?
Room and View Bedroom a bit to warm
Location was good. Breakfast was very nice and the staff were excellent. Double room was a little cramped
Friendly & welcoming staff, despite our arrival at 12.30am! Although the area is a little run down, it was reassuring to see the carpark was well lit. We had the four poster bed which was a nice surprise - the room has a fantastic view of Morecombe Bay. The cooked breakfast was great - my husband was thrilled that there was black pudding on the menu! A very minor point - the stewed tea, which you help yourself too but this did seem to taste better with my fry up!
The room was comfortable and spacious. Staff were quite friendly (the morning reception staff more so than anyone else). The breakfast. It took an absolute age to come, and we were pointedly ignored by staff for at least 20 minutes before anyone even bothered to lay up the table and ask if we wanted any coffee etc. We then had about another half-an-hour wait for the cooked breakfast (they were not that busy), and when it came it looked as though it had been sitting on a warming shelf for some time - I have never seen such shrivelled mushrooms in my life!
Pleasant helpful staff. A good choice at breakfast. It was what you might call "shabby chique". In its Victorian hay day it would have been splendid and many aspects of that era remain, which was good. However the decor and carpets could do with a face lift and a general overhaul.
only stayed 1 night instead of 2 because of room room was dull with a very small window
location Our trip coincided with a large birthday party as a consequence, he breakfas was dire...maybe the chef was hungover
excellent room. breakfast was very good with plenty avaiable
Staff very pleasant, room comfortable and clean. Evening meal - food good and value for money. Breakfast - good buffet with fruit, grapefruit, prunes, selection of cereals, yogurts, pastries, also full English cooked breakfast, as much fruit juice, tea and coffee as one wished.
The best thing about the Clarendon, were the friendly staff and the position on the front
The friendly character of the place. Bathroom hadn't been cleaned properly.
Having read some of the mixed reviews beforehand, my two sisters and I weren't totally sure what to expect. The hotel, friendliness of staff, accommodation and food exceeded our expectations. They even had a quiz night on which was great fun. Would recommend this hotel and would definitely stay there again if in the area.
the room was very well decorated, the bed was comfortable. there was tea making facilities and a tv. the room was larger than we expected. the bathroom was very nicely decorated and very modern with lovely shower gels and moisturisers in proper bottles which were a lovely touch the only negative point was i felt they need a blind at the bathroom window as this is over the bath and shower. being on the ground floor it made you feel little exposed.
The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. The room was much larger than we expected, was well decorated and modern, and very clean.
the facilities are on par with and in some cases better than many top hotels. the food was probably the best I have had in any hotel I have stayed in and presented well. the staff also were excellent. 10/10. It was for buisness and not pleasure, otherwise I may have stayed longer.
Ease of access to the city Shower curtains were not clean
location there was a two month old newspaper under he bed
Clean, modern, spacious and quiet. For £85 per night for an 'executive' room, we expected a double bed rather than two singles and there was no hot water in the morning.
It was close to the centre, taxi into town in the evening was £5, there was adequate parking, the rooms were quite big and it was very comfortable.
A good size, very clean room with air con which was great. Nice breakfast with good variety.
The staff could not provide adequate info. about places to visit such as Cotswold and how to get there.
gym expensive drinks
Used en-route stop over driving to Scotland very convenient for motorway. Impersonal and characterless public areas. Buffet breakfast adequate; no better than the typical British hotel buffet. WiFi by third party supplier not value for money.
the location and the view from the dining/breakfast area the staff lack of knowledge about places of interest in surrounding area
Clean with all amenities on site Some fittings, fixtures, etc in a state of disrepair. Length of time taken to answer complaints - request for IT support over 3 hours and request to housekeeping ignored.
Exceptional location and attention from the sdtaff None - the road works outside were beyond your control [and aere an overall benifit to the area]
Friendly staff Good food Nice room A lot of road traffic noise
Lovely b&b, rooms very clean and breakfast very tasty. I booked a twin room, however we were given a double, I advised we had booked a twin and they gave us our own room at no extra cost.
Great location, good atmosphere, great food, nice warm room and friendly staff. Adjacent to our room there was a noisy boiler/heating system which woke us very early.
Recently refubished, lovely atmosphere, combines the good points of staying in a pub and staying in an hotel. My reservation didn't seem to be there at check-in, but appeared later. However this was not a problem.
good breakfast and wonderful view of Morecambe Bay. Very cordial staff and very clean. nothing
Staff were friendly. The accommodation was rather dated but comfortable and fair for the price. Before our stay, we did not receive a reply to an email and were unable to get an answer on the telephone. (There was an answer machine.)
bar was closed at 10pm we had to ask to open it, drinks were flat (lemonade mixer) and when told she couldnt understand it because she only opened the bottle yesterday. Orange wkd was out of date by 4 mths.
Friendly staff and they were very eager to accomadate is in rooms of our choice. Very noisy main road position and very limited parking for our cars. The breakfast was limited in choice everyone was given the same large cooked breakfast and we were not asked what we would like.
We left early in the morning and weren 't able to get breakfast which was included in the price of the room.
Easy to find, nice clean room with good shower, nice breakfast, nice people. Decor a little old
very comfortable ,made us very welcome food very good would use the hotel again
Rooms are 2 small no bath in room only shower.
The location was ideal, easy walk to all the amenties, railwaystation and tourist information
Hotel was good in terms of food, service and team in the hotel. Parking was listed as available on the website - there is only one space in a very narro car park at the rear of the hotel - the rest is on-road parking and is very busy.
modern, comfortable place, relaxed atmosphere
nice room Very noisy, being opposite Revolution bar/club so definitely can't recommend. Also, alot of noise within the hotel itself the night we stayed.
Very pleasant room and excellent food
Excellent stay and unexpectedly good. Nicely renovated good breakfast and brilliant value for money
very nice neat and clean room with all modern amenities, very comfortable beds, very good bath room, overall it was a pleasure in staying there. nothing
Interior design of bedroom POsition (on busy road)
Good modern rooms linked to pleasant bar area and restaurant. Excellent helpful staff
The food was great Parking was a bit of a walk
install a proper heatingsystem and I might come back! Room too cold and not clean
The room had been well modernised and teh staff were freindly and helpful.
