Pros: The staff and facilities were absolutely phenomenal! We stayed for 3 nights and could not be happier with our stay. The staff was very accommodating and learned our names. They truly wanted to help make our stay as best as it possibly could be. We were also very impressed with the food and the dining services, it was 5 star food, service and quality all around! Could not recommend this resort enough.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Food was great, lots of options
Cons: The beach in front of the property was a bit too rocky, could recommend some water sports shoes on the website.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Truly paradise! Everything you need is taken care of, warm friendly staff makes it a great experience, outdoor shower was nice, great AC, WIFI is strong, food was outstanding, beach was beautiful, loved taking the kayaks out to snorkel, SUPs and inflatable slide were fun, not too crowded in February which is perfect
Cons: Bathroom can get humid and have some bugs since it’s open to the outdoors but it’s part of the experience! In the evening, there are tiny bugs that bite so be sure to use the bug spray that the resort provides around the restaurant and bar

There are plenty of activities on offer, but also plenty of opportunities to relax and just laze by the pool all day. The beach at the resort is stunning and the snorkeling just in front of the resort was top notch! The food is also amazing! We will definitely be back :-)

Octopus Resort - Waya Island
2
8.9 Excellent (272 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Octopus Resort in Waya Island, you'll be on the waterfront and within the region of Naukacuvu Beach and Manta Ray Beach. The front desk is staffed during limited hours.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: We, a couple who spent their honeymoon in the Yasawas stayed here for 7 nights. Location: Octopus Resort is located on the west coast of Waya Island which is just beautiful. It'll take your breath away when you get there. Room: We stayed in a Garden Villa ("Bure" 12) which was just ridiculously sweet (and big) - including beautiful furniture. Bathroom with open shower is super clean, beds are surprisingly comfy (and include a mosquito net) and you get to fall asleep to the sound of the waves. Room and bathroom are cleaned daily. The landscaping/gardening is gorgeous. Beach and water: Again, beautiful. Beach beds are deluxe and the reef (which is growing) is just a few feet away from the beach and excellent for snorkeling: Besides the usual 1,000 different reef fish and beautiful corals we got to see stingrays and moray eels just right there. Activities: Snorkeling and hiking excursions - recommend the hike, village visit and snorkeling tour - are worth it. Also, don't miss the Meke show. Food: Lunch and Dinner are very good - make sure you're there when they do the Lovo barbeque. Staff: The folks at the dive shop that do all the excursions with you are beyond great. All genuine people!
Cons: Staff: The F&B staff as well as management can be hit or miss. We came across two or three that truly seem to care about their job (including Wame, one of the F&B managers). Then there are others who don't really seem to care if water jugs are filled, whether you'd like water with your lunch, or would like to reserve a two seated table for dinner closer to the beach on your last day of your (honeymoon) stay so instead put you with a bunch of backpackers on a communal table. So, if you're traveling as a couple and want to spend some time by yourself, make sure to be persistent about reserving a table.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great staff, good food, beautiful beach and great spot for snorkeling. Good place to get in contact with other people and to play a good match of volleyball
Cons: If you have to leave
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The food was great, accommodations were lovely, staff was friendly, and the beach was nice. Lots of activities to do.
Cons: Saw the Australian owners picking up the money from the resort and they were treating the staff poorly by talking down to them and being disrespectful and basically acting like assholes. Despite how nice my stay was I would not book here again because I don't support owners that think they are better than their staff. If you book a place try to find out if it is owned by a Fijian and try to support local families. Also, Octopus Resort has several other brother/sister resorts owned by the same people (4 others I believe), so do your research and avoid these places.
7.1 Good
Pros: The hike to the mountain was amazing.
Cons: Overpriced, the snorkel in the coral is not good, too many kids.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Helpful staff, great customer care and involvement. Stunningly clear water!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were amazing and friendly.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: All the amenities were amazing, which included a nice swimming pool and a Coconut Bar from the sunset can be seen. The beach is beautiful and all the snorkel gear, paddle boards and kayaks are available for the clients. The staff are specially caring, so is the owner, and they helped us a lot when both my partner and I got sick for a previously eaten food. Totally recommended for anyone.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Lunch and dinner were extraordinarily delicious (only the BBQ evening disappointed us as the meat at the buffet was tough) Beach and the bure were really great Sea great for snorkeling
Cons: Breakfast was below average (cappuccinos etc. have to be paid extra, only pots of normal coffee were available, only 1 type of toast bread no other bread available, generally not much choice) Staff told us that minibar was included in the bure and would be refilled every day - however it is only included for 1 day

5.0 Okay
Pros: Good spot for snorkeling and the food is good.
Cons: Lot's of plastic on the beach...Instead of cleaning the bathways from sand, they should do a beach clean up once a day and not throwing the stuff back in the ocean when it's high tide!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The whole team were amazing, you are made to feel part of the family, everyone is so helpful and friendly. You’re able to do as much or a little as you wish. Location is stunning!! Did the sunrise walk, which is an early start but so worth it and get to end the day at the sunset bar, it’s paradise.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The shared facilities were always clean. The food was very good. The snorkeling was absolutely stunning and was way the best around the three islands we stayed at. They have a marine biologist living there, who protects the local reef and always does a very interesting reef talk in the morning. Three beaches around the resort and you can see the sunrise and the sunset at the beach.
Cons: The traditional beachfront bure was a little bit too small and could need a refreshment, but you get used to it very quickly. Not enough hammocks (only six), when there are many guests around.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The crew was AWESOME
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I can’t recommend this place highly enough. Food is amazing, staff end up more like family, snorkelling was fantastic, views were stunning and I didn’t want to leave.
Cons: That I had to leave!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely fabulous! Staff cannot so enough for you - so friendly and helpful. Food is delicious. Sometimes it’s a buffet other times it’s a meal selected from a choice of 3. WiFi isn’t great. Beaches are beautiful. Best snorkelling ever here!! Free snorkel gear. I stayed in a 4 bed beach hut dorm. Very small but you’re never in there anyway. Bathrooms are clean. Highly recommend this place.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved the people, Saki really made you feel welcome and all the staff paid you attention with big smiles. The hut we stayed in was just the right size and on the beach! Very clean bathrooms and toilets. The food was so nice and big portions too. The Dive team are so friendly and are always there to help you so you feel safe in the water. Free use of the snorkels and paddle boards. Loved this resort!
Cons: There wasn't anything i didn't like.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: There is only few things, which you can do on Island. Diving, snorkelling, sleeping, reading books and that is. Wine is quit expensive and beer too. Bring your own if I can recommend. But food is very nice, people too.
Cons: Careful! On the Island is the only way by boat which start at 8:30 a.m. from Nadi! On booking is this info missing, so if you arrive at the airport later, you have missed boat and sorry... Next day, or you can hire boat privat, but it is around 900 €!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff were super helpful and the huts were brilliant. Loved the outdoor shower

Pros: The Staff!!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: There’s not enough room to explain how amazing this island is and has to offer for the adventurer in your soul. The staff was so incredibly friendly. Sleeping ON the beach and being ONE with the ocean was spectacular. The chef prepared healthy filling meals. The water supply is safe...the diving was the best I have ever seen. Live vibrant reefs right out your front door. The Awakening Shark Dive is the only one of its kind and it blew me away. Every detail of this island getaway is designed to make you experience FIJI...it’s luxurious in its natural state with mountains, phantom rocks, fish galore. The accommodations are pristine and it takes you back to a simpler time where you can truly escape your everyday stress. I’m going back as soon as I can book another trip!!!

Pros: The staff were super friend and nice The food was excellent My little cabin was super clean
Cons: If you are going to lye in the beach, this is not your place. Tides come in and out quite high. The main beach, usually the place you swim also has boats tied up so you often find yourself swimming around them

Pros: Thank you to Aku and extended family for your great hospitality and amazing food. This was the highlight of our trip to Fiji. Wayasewa is just a beautiful island. Did the summit hike which has stunning 360 views and the baby shark snorkeling, both recommended. We stayed in the garden bure which is just a few steps from the beach. Vinaka! :)

Pros: So happy we chose Naqalia - rather than stay in a regular resort, you are socialising with staff and fellow guests at every meal and doing activities together. The Naqalia staff are incredibly welcoming and make the stay really enjoyable.. as do the stunning views of the sea and the delicious meals!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were the best I have ever come across. You’re more like family to them rather then just a guest. They will go out their way to make your stay the best it can be and the trips and activities there are incredible. Food is spot on.
