Pros: Loved the rambling design, the views, the wood, the paths in the forest, the integration with nature, the staff, and the spa pools.
Cons: The buffet dinner in their restaurant was very ordinary..some dishes were cold..We ate a la carte in the cafe and bar instead which was much much better. Signage to the oaths dnd along them could have been much better.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, look and feel
8.3 Excellent
Pros: I loved that the hotel is located in a beautiful rainforest.
Cons: The warm system of the room we were in, was broken down, so we had to be relocated at another room.
7.0 Good
Cons: We visited marina Fuy restaurant for lunch (they own this place) and they overcharged for a 1/2 bottle of wine and nobody took responsibility. When we checked out, the manager look after the paper work, he never gave us a receipt of our expenses, he said that will be email to us, until now we have not received anything, even so I sent them an email with a second request.
7.5 Good
Pros: View from Balcony is amazing
Cons: Smells from the kitchen could be smelt in the rooms. Lack of English speaking staff and information caused some issues

6.8 Good
Pros: We booked this hotel because we had something to celebrate. The hotel, restaurant, food, location, etc... were perfect.
Cons: We were giving room 22. This room is in the top of the hotel and has a huge metal pipe (from the fireplace in the restaurant) running through it. It was april and the weather was super sunny (26C). So when we were given the room we thought the heat came from 3 extra heaters. They were turned on and we turned them of. BUT at night the pipe stayed super warm until 1:00am. We could not get the room to cool down (even with the door and all the windows open (it rained on me in bed with the window open). IT WAS CRAZY WARM! Next morning at 7:15 am they put fire on the fireplace for breakfast again.. Off course we complained and they explained that they did not have another room and that they are aware of this problem. We spent almost 200$ in this hotel but they did not propose or give us any discount! Aso this room is super small with low ceilings, hit my head numerous times in the bathroom!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Staff Location on the lovely lake Restaurant and log fire Comfortable lounge No hassle
Cons: Barking dogs outside at night (a problem everywhere in Chile!)
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The view from our room was stunning Staff were so friendly and helpful We made use of the Spa at their sister hotel
Cons: Very small points -WiFi was not available in our room. The safe was at reception. Would have been useful to have a fridge in the room This did not spoil our stay here and we would book again
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Incredibly beautiful, more like a lodge than a hotel. Seriously amazing place and location. Food was excellent, as were all of the staff. We loved it there.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was warm, cozy and friendly. Excellent breakfast.
Cons: Paying in US Dollars
10.0 Excellent
Pros: a wonderful logde, super cozy, with beautiful decor and an extremely helpful and polite staff. Complimentary welcome drinks, and access to the spa in the enchanted forest. complete silebce at night, and the view of the lake is breath-taking!
Cons: nothing, the place is spectacular!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: I liked the service. I felt like I was at home, but with help. The views from public areas were also fantastic.
Cons: The coffee quality was not great. The internet communication to book is not very good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: All the staff was amazing.
Cons: The WiFi wasn’t working during our stay
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was delicious and the service was really nice. It seems like the morning staff and evening staff was the same, this made people very familiar, even in two days. The location was great, the other two Huilo Huilo hotels are in the forest but this one is on the lake and therefore gets some sun as well.
Cons: Two nights I had some trouble sleeping. All Huilo Huilo hotels are in the middle of nowhere. Usually this means a very quite night. Not in Chile, you can be in various small towns all over Patagonia and will always hear dogs barking, the entire night. In Pucon, Puerto Varas, Punta Arenas and apparently also in Huilo Huilo. Not sure if these are streetdogs or just the residents dogs that have to stay outside. Other than dogs, the rooms are all wood (gorgeous) but also noisy. I woke up at 1 on a Friday and the neighbors had the TV on quite loud and there was a lot of activity outside. In Huilo Huilo I would have expected more serenity, but there might be a small locals pub nearby for the hotel and locals getting out of work. Anyways hopefully they can do something about the dogs in Chile. It's sad for them to be barking outside all night;).
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great atmosphere. Marvelous location. Extremely friendly and responsive staff. Great hot water shower
Cons: Small things that make an "excellent" rating difficult: - no toilet paper - had to ask reception - Bedside lamp not plugged in - rock music inappropriet in dining room at lunch or dinner
Hostal Andalue - Puerto Fuy - Building
9.0 Excellent (114 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Hostal Andalue is situated on the beachfront in Puerto Fuy, 200 metres from Puerto Fuy. Boasting a 24-hour front desk, this property also provides guests with a restaurant. Both private parking and free WiFi are accessible at the guest house. At Hostal Andalue rooms come with a shared bathroom.
7.0 Good
Pros: Comfy room, excellent breakfast
Cons: Having to queue for the bathroom
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great location, great breakfast, lovely staff, clean and comfortable rooms. The bathroom is very nice too, although it is shared between six or so rooms so it can be quite busy. The breakfast had fresh baked bread, eggs, and homemade jam, it was awesome. The gps coordinates on Booking were incorrect. The hostel is actually located to the right of the Feria, off the water about 2 blocks, you’ll see the sign hanging above the street.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Clean, good shower
Cons: The price was over double when booked via this website. I think the commission taken from me - a regular user of the site is excessive and will now stop using the site directly. The hostel itself was excellent.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Is a nicely built wooden building and has a vert cosy atmosphere inside.
Cons: There is only only bathroom on the second floor where there are around 8 rooms. The bathroom can be very busy when most of the rooms are full.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was great. Homemade bake items, egg type of omelette, coffee. One of the best I've had in chile. The staff was very kind and willing to communicate with my poor Spanish.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: I had a very good stay. Hosts are friendly, facility good and the location is great for hiking. Mainly their breakfast is amazing (with homemade jam). Yum!
6.3 Good
Pros: Nice location; beautiful panorama from my room.
Cons: Many things that are advertised are not truth - e.g. on the signboard 50 m far from the hostal is clearly written "credit cards and cash - Chilean pesos; Argentinian pesos and US dolars - are accepted" - in the hotel they accept only cash in Chilean pesos. Moreover - during booking they advertised my reservation as double-bed, but for one person - for price of single-bed. However finally I payed the same price as it is required for full double-bed occupied by two persons. Breakfast - average. Staff absolutely without ability to speak English. I would choose different one. In neighbourhood there are better options. Moreover, the price was not final - some special tax was added (without explanations when there was language barrier).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
Huilo Huilo Cabanas Del Bosque - Neltume - Bedroom
8.8 Excellent (213 reviews)
Overview Reviews
This collection of cabins is located alongside the crystalline Fuy River, in the midst of a wonderful forest where oak and lenga trees predominate. Its conscientious architecture and furnishings will remind you of the beauty of the simple and the natural making you feel right at home.
3.3 Mediocre
Cons: They double billed me for my stay, and will not respond to my requests for help.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The paths in the woods
7.5 Good
Pros: Well suited for people wanting to do outdoor activity like hiking, biking, rafting on a river. Very peaceful area, good bird photography and lots of hiking trails.
Cons: Cabins were very rustic and was surprised there was no axe to chop wood and make it easier to light the wood stove.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location, the pool, the restaurants, the hiking.
Cons: The heating was not fully functional, the cost is very high
5.8 Okay
Pros: The place it´s really nice! Then national park it´s amazing and have a lot of things to do. A must in Chile
Cons: The cabin was not well prepared for the value. Curtains and kitchen utensils were not in a good shape. The heating was not working properly. And toiltes were not working good. The furniture was too old. The main room was cold, the chimney heat didn´t reach.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: Everything was great but the cabins were cold. Just a fireplace to heat them.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Everything!
Cons: Lack of soap
8.8 Excellent
Pros: well located, just a 5 min walk through the forest to the hotel (and its facilities) or down to the beautiful river.
Cons: The fire in the middle of the living room was quite dangerous. It was extremely hot (and it needed to be lit since the cabana was very cold), and with toddlers around we were constantly having to say ''stay back from the fire''. we were constantly worried that there would be an accident. a simple safety fence for the area around the fire would help a lot. the walkway between the hotel and the cabanas was unlit, and you needed a torch at night to find your way back.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The resort is a kind of fantasy dreamt up by architects on mind-altering drugs and is really fun to explore. It has a random quality that is the exact opposite of a Marriott resort. The hotels Montana Magica and Nothofagus are super expensive but our cabana was a little over 100 USD per night. The two short hikes that don’t require driving are both great, esp. the Espiritu hike where you discover wood carvings of humans and animals hidden near the path. There are also great short hikes to two waterfalls that require driving a few miles to the trailhead. And there is a long hike to Puerto Fuy whose trailhead is hard to find and which seems longer than the claimed 2.5 km. The little yellow bird trail markers were wonderful. Beds were super comfy and we slept like babies except one night a wild dog barking kept us awake for an hour until I finally threw a rock at it.
Cons: The roads inside the resort are AWFUL. Giant potholes, huge rocks that could disable an ordinary car. There are no lights on roads so driving to our cabana at night was almost impossible. We quickly decided to be in before dark. The dining options are bad: hyperexpensive food inside the resort, very few restaurants (3) in nearby town Neltume. Fortunately cabana had limited cooking facility but you need to think ahead and stock up at a supermarket in a large town before arriving. The onsite Volcano Museum was really almost entirely about Mapuche Indians and very little about volcanoes. The funicular didn’t operate when it was supposed to and has limited hours. There is no wifi at cabanas, you have to walk 5 min to main lobby to get wifi. Stray dogs are numerous, not dangerous but always begging for food.
7.0 Good
Pros: Beautiful location and staying within the reserve gives you free access to the walks ans museum
Cons: For the price, i think the bathrooms could have a little shampoo condition and soap. Also, the signage around the parks etc where to park was really bad. Just be aware that there were ppl working at info desks who didn't speak English. It could make getting info a bit tricky
Huilo Huilo Montaña Magica - Neltume - Building
8.8 Excellent (148 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Emerging from between the southern Andes is the Magic Mountain, a volcano from whose peak a stunning waterfall makes its way down. It serves as a reminder of the majesty of Mother Nature.Come and share in the magic of being part of a real life fairy tale in this charming location buried in the middle of the native forest.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: One of the most eccentric hotels we have ever stayed in we were in Hotel Montana Magica #5 standard. A hobbit like house structure. The hotel consists of 4-5 hotels all connected by tunnels and hallways. Very unique place in a bio reserve rainforest. Clean, great staff, good free breakfast, great place
Cons: It is a bit out of the way and you really have to want to go there to see it. Also they did not have a map of the hotel so it was easy to get lost
7.5 Good
Pros: The location of the lodge in the national park was perfect. The fact that the buildings were integrated in the forest was amazing. The food was delicious, especially the mushroom risotto, pisco sours, and desserts. Staff was mostly wonderful. We loved the pool with the waterslide.
Cons: The carpet in our room was ripping and frayed. The chair in the room had a lot of stains on it.
5.8 Okay
Cons: There is no hot water when we took shower at night, and there is no WiFi o signal in the hotel room we had to stay outside on the sofa to play cellphone. And the scene treehouse now has been full around the trees barely to see the house outside. I don’t think it deserves so expensive price.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location, structure, facilities, staff and nature. Beautiful place
Cons: Very noisy, could hear people in other rooms plus in corridors.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful property and friendly staff. Would definitely recommend going.
Cons: Food options are limited, but the whole point of a vacation like this is to get away from it all, so that is expected.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location, comfortable rooms good food. Loved the hikes around the hotel
Cons: Everything is overpriced not many options for food other than the restaurant. Staff not as helpful as other reviews I have read, felt we were paying more due to our limited Spanish was advertised that there is a shuttle to Puerto Montt at fixed times so I booked a flight from there then we paid $500Aud for our transfer which was just us and no fixed time
6.8 Good
Pros: Location, construction. Privacy
Cons: Rooms too noisy, no consideration from housekeeper running up and down the stairs while we were trying to sleep. You can hear every single conversation from the rooms around. Including the water running in the bathroom above us.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was great! No difference with what it is shown on the web-page, even better. Very service minded staff. Beautiful rooms. And the surroundings are fantastic, with beautiful nature and scenery.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The surrounding and the building itself as well as the swimming pools. The live music was also nice and the seafood at dinner.
Cons: The rooms in the magical mountain were far too small. The staff at the spa were very rude and unhelpful, except from the person at the bar. Buffet breakfast was cold and average.
7.0 Good
Pros: Really beautiful natural wood (bark, live edges, etc.)everywhere. Great walking trails just outside the door. More trails to discover a few kilometers away in Huilo Huilo Reserve which is free to hotel guests. Buffet food was very good and lots of choices.
Cons: It was an unseasonably hot 95 degrees F / 35 C, but there were No fans or a/c. There was no ice for drinks available! The pool was closed for repairs. We were in a very expensive, poorly run, gorgeous location. A strange combination of contrasts.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Cool design, spacious for 2 people comfortable bed
Cons: A bit expensive for what you got. Upstairs room gets very hot in summer. It would be great in cool times
4.3 Okay
Pros: The domes are a nice idea, and are close to lovely scenery and the Huilo Huilo Park. Across the road is a place where there are multi-food stalls to eat in. Tasty food and very cheap!
Cons: The domes are built of very thin material and have no soundproofing. They are crammed onto a pretty small site, with an outside sitting space for each, but no real garden area. We were in a dome for two people, right by the road and it was noisy. You can hear people talking outside too. Our dome was quite small, the bathroom tiny and the ‘kitchen’ facilities so tiny to be almost useless. The ‘kitchen’ sink doesn’t even fit the plates they provide in it! There is, however, a tiny fridge and a microwave. Facilities are minimal. The staff aren’t on site, so we had to hang around for half an hour in the morning until someone turned up who we could pay. The price for these domes is outrageous - they should be half what are charging. Some domes looked much bigger and had ‘upstairs’, but we didn’t see inside those and they may be better. But for us this was a very disappointing experience.
7.5 Good
Pros: The domes are a unique place to stay and in good weather should give you a great view of the stars. Unfortunately it was cloudy on the night we stayed but the domes are nice and clean and have everything you need. The host was very friendly and helpful despite us arriving late.
Cons: We got lost on the way here so I would recommend getting a map of the area, as it can be hard to find. There were no restaurants or shops open in the town after 9pm so I would recommend arriving before then. The domes are quite close together so not as private as I would have liked.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location of the domos is amazing! Steps from a river and few kms from Huilo Huilo biological reserve. It feels like living in a fairytale.
Cons: Unfortunately when we arrived there was a blackout which shut down the whole city of Neltume due to a storm, so we had no electricity, we couldn't dry our hair and it was quite cold inside because the radiators didn't work. Fortunately the host brought us a gas stove to warm ourselves and the electricity came back by the time we got up the next day.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was amazing
Cons: I stay in canopy Village I really love the place especially the people who work there...their are sweet loving beautiful people specially... Marcelo Monrroy... the manager. Maria Fernanda Mauricio Perez I fall in love with that place it is beautiful and enchanting I will definitely come back soon
7.0 Good
Pros: I loved the cabin, there were loads of blankets and an electric heater so it was cozy and right in the middle of where the deer were My daughter loved seeing the animals, the little water falls everywhere and walking along the boardwalks. It was beautiful scenery, wonderful community cooking room, and we felt lucky to be able to stay there for two nights with a discounted rate.
Cons: the bathrooms were far away and this proved to be difficult to get to in the middle of the night. Some of the boardwalk areas were blocked off. Also the maps of the entire Huilo-Huilo were very hard to see and read. All of the visitor centre staff were nice but promoted buying tours and were not that helpful when it came to basic information. Last but not least their "bus transfer" system only works when you purchase a tour, and you cannot just go from one portal to another without a car---too far to work.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location. Beautiful surroundings. Big shared kitchen.
Cons: No hot water on last day of visit.

Pros: Location

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very beautiful and quiet place to stay when there are no Tourists
Cons: Not enough comfortable places to sit down and read a book
