The option for late check out
Staff members were helpful and friendly. Rooms were nice and roomy. Hotel was in excellent condition. It was close to Canal Street to view the parades.
Breakfast offerings. Other Hyatt’s have free breakfast. You would think that because the Centric is on the high end that breakfast would be offered. Chuck and the bar staff was excellent. The food was great.
Location, service, facilites
Us very noissy, Trucks and service vehicles work oitside of the hotel every morning at 5 am. The hotel May change the windows for a sound proof windows.
Overall, pretty great
The hotel was nice and the staff was friendly. Everyone I spoke with wanted to make sure we were taken care of and it felt like they were willing to go the extra mile to make sure we were happy. I had a small reception for my wedding at The Redfish Grill that's attached to the hotel and it was a great experience. I believe our waitress was Anne or Anna and she was very kind, personable, and provided the best service possible. I would definitely recommend this Hyatt to someone looking to stay in NOLA.
The only con I have for the hotel is the Powdered Sugar cafe attached to the hotel. My husband and I didn't get our orders on time (in a busy setting, I would understand. There were only two or three other tables seated) and what we did get was continually incorrect with no apology or explanation. At some point my plate was taken from me without saying anything with my fork still on it where I had dropped it. Overpriced for what it is.
I made a reservation on a busy weekend. When I arrived at the front desk told me they were overbooked and I did not have a room. There were no other hotels available so I went back to the airport, slept they're all night and purchased a ticket for a flight home.
The Hyatt Centric French Quarter New Orleans is less than a mile from the Mercedes-Benz Superdome where the New Orleans Saints American football team plays. Morial Convention Center and Harrah’s Casino are also close by. This centrally located hotel is only 12 miles from Louis Armstrong International Airport. The hotel offers 254 non-smoking guestrooms and suites that look out over the French Quarter.
Each of the guestrooms at this hotel comes with plenty of space, a private bathroom with marble accents, a full workspace with a desk and chair, and a sofa. A 42-inch flat-screen television, refrigerator, Keurig coffeemaker, and iron and ironing board are included. Rooms also come with an iHome alarm clock radio, Drybar Buttercup hairdryer, Beekind bath amenities, and a laptop size safe. Suites are larger and offer a separate living area with a workspace. Some suites offer sofa beds and additional amenities along with a view of Bourbon Street.
Powdered Sugar is available on-site at the hotel and offers grab-and-go items, as well as a menu of breakfast, lunch, and dinner favorites. Batch Bar is also at the hotel and serves local spirits and handcrafted cocktails. Red Fish Grill is right off of the hotel and serves New Orleans seafood like seafood gumbo and alligator sausage.
There are plenty of things to see and do in this neighborhood with options like visiting the 21st Amendment Jazz Club, taking a cruise on the Steamboat Natchez, or spending time at the historic Cabildo building. Audubon Park, Magazine Street, and Audubon Park Golf Course are also nearby.
