Room not ready at 4:30ish. We needed to be at an event at 5:30. We arrived at the event half an hour late. Check-in person offered a round of drinks or an appetizer. An offer was made to move us to a Villa. How long would that have taken? Really -- And that was after we told her why we needed to get into the room (to change, fresh makeup, and leave, etc). Check out time is noon the next day -- when exactly were we supposed to use to "gift"??? No soap (bar soap) in bathroom No space to place things near sink (and it is a very small sink)-- except for two glass shelves up rather high, that were already holding the tissue box, and the other items supplied by the hotel. No other place in the room to apply makeup (big desk lamp/shade in front of the mirror in the bedroom area). So a challenge. No room to the water pick while in use, had to hold it! Sheet on queen bed too narrow to tuck in on sides, so it wrinkled up--not smooth. The person who was cleaning the room told us she had been working all day--no break, etc. Many rooms to clean.
Very clean and the location is great
Matthew the bellhop was arrogant and rude. He was so disrespectful to me. Complained and intend on calling there managwr
It is a beautiful, old world inn. The rooms & public areas are spotless & the staff are very accommodating.
1- the Kensington restaurant has a bizarre policy at lunch. Despite a fairly empty restaurant, the will only seat 4 tables every 15 minutes. Do we were told to come back in 7 minutes. Strange! 2- I had a hot stone massage which gave me burns on my back. The setting for heating up the stones was too hot, and therefore left burn marks on me.
Both dinner and breakfast were good beyond expectation. Locker facilities within the spa are quite nice. Steam room, sauna and whirlpool are all located within the locker room.
Mattress was a bit soft for my liking but hardly worth mentioning.
The Spa at Norwich Inn is located in the Connecticut Woods in New England. The inn couples a luxurious spa with a historical boutique hotel and gives guests a sanctuary where they can relax and focus on de-stressing.
The inn features 100 rooms that are split between some traditional rooms, some suites, and some villas. The style of the décor shows some of the inn’s history. There are a lot of unique characteristics from the time the inn was first opened back in 1929. All rooms include bathrobes, free Wi-Fi, safes, hairdryers, and spa quality bathroom supplies. The grounds are well-kept and beautiful. There are gardens, a courtyard, a reflecting pool, and huge old oak trees setting the scene of the countryside.
There are three restaurants/bars on the premises. Kensington’s Restaurant serves food from all over the world in an upscale setting. Diners can enjoy a romantic setting and experience gourmet food cooked by Chef Lee Masten. Ascot’s Pub has a very traditional pub look to it. The food is what would be expected from a pub but with a little twist in the flavors. There’s also a juice bar that serves a large variety of fresh smoothies, other drinks, and some snacks.
For those who want to take advantage of the spa, there are packages to choose from that include some for the day spa, and also overnight spa packages. Some of these are the Museum Package, the Norwich Golf Package, the Country Getaway Retreat, and the Wine Tasting Package.
This inn is a 42-acre jewel in the Connecticut Woods. Take a trip there for some beautiful scenery and rejuvenating spa experiences.
