Pros: The room was massive, the air-conditioning worked well and the pool looked very nice.
Cons: It's very expensive considering you don't get breakfast, we also had a lot of ants in our room which got at some of our food.
Pros: Staff were nice, room was big and clean. Hot water worked. Restaurant across the street good and there is a bakery just on the corner for breakfast
Cons: Colour scheme is very vey garish and the WiFi was useless
Pros: Great value for the money
Cons: It is very noisy
Pros: Kind staff. AC made no noise at all. Lukewarm water, great for hot weather.
Cons: No restaurant service. Noise from the street.
Pros: Very good atention. Good value
Cons: Didnt have restaurant
Pros: The staff did not speak much English but made up for it by using a translation app on their phone and were very helpful. It was a bonus to have aircon. There is a nice bakery open from 6am on the corner, very close.
Cons: Just a point to note: a lot of taxi in Lago Agrio do not have seat belts, this is nothing to do with the hotel.

Pros: The staff tried very hard to assist us.
Cons: The room was a mess. The floor was dirty, the shower taps were reversed and it took minutes for hot water to appear, then it was either too hot or too cold switching without warning. The pictures on the wall were on pronounced angles, the bed was rock hard and right at the top of the stairs, there was a rail running on the floor posing a trip hazard. Checkout took almost 30 minutes as the clerk did not have change and was hesitant to give us a receipt.
Pros: The staff did their best to assist us, they were friendly and polite.
Cons: The room was not clean, the bed very hard and hot water took 5 minutes to reach the room, the shower temperature fluctuated rapidly and drastically, unsafe.
Pros: Hotel was in the middle of the city, swimming pool was good and staff extra friendly
Pros: Comfortable bed, big room, clean, no problems with hot water (what was the case in many other hotels we staid in Ecuador).
Cons: I was positively surprise when I received an email asking about any dietary restrictions. I asked for vegetarian option for a diner and they confirmed that this was not a problem. When I arrived to the diner they told me they did not have anything vegetarian.
Pros: The staff was great , they even came to pick us up at the airport . Great pool, and jacuzzi, great food and I even joined a fitness class . Highly recommended
Pros: Good pool, good food available in the restaurant and fairly comfortable rooms with air conditioning. It was a good, cosy stop before our Amazon adventure

Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, a 24-hour front desk, and luggage storage. Pros: Very nice hotel in a quiet area with incredibly helpful people working there. They give advice, can do laundry, etc. Clean, big room, there was also a jaccuzi bathttub in the room with hot water and bubbles! (What a treat after long travels). Recommended.
Cons: The room was very humid after the bubble bath :))
Pros: The owners are really nice and they cook dinner if you don't want to go out.
Cons: You need a taxi to get there
Pros: The owner was super nice and even allowed us to leave the car at the parkign lot while we were on a tour to Cuyabeno. The breakfast was nice. We'd stay here again.
Pros: Owners were great. Provided dinner and a ride to the airport.
Cons: First room I got had tiny ants on the table and sofa. They moved me to another room which was somewhat cleaner, but still had stained upholstery and shower curtains. The light flickered on every three seconds all night. Had a second stay several days later (I looked for alternative hotels in the city but they appeared to be of similar quality), room was cleaner but smelled like cigarettes. Taxi driver told me not to walk around this neighborhood even during the day.
Pros: The owner of the hostel was very friendly when we arrived at night. Our room was very spacious and contained a bath.
Cons: The shower wasn't working and the breakfast wasn't very filling.
Pros: Great friendly staff and spacious and clean room!
Pros: Room was large and bed was comfy. Spa tub was nice.
Cons: No hot water in the shower even after 5 minutes or running. Location is away from shops/restaurants
Pros: This was a great stay before a trip to cuyabeno national park. Louis the manager was super. He picked us up from the public bus station (and even waited half an hr) dropped us off into town after there was a power outage (so street lights were out) and took us to the meeting point for the tour the next day. Above and beyond. $3 breakfast was great, and we slept well. Very nice shower! Would definitely recommend.
Cons: Pillows were a bit thick, I would recommend some thinner ones ;)
Pros: Clean, very big room with everything working as it was supposed to. Very friendly staff that always offered us additional food. Let us use their garage for the time we went to the lodge free of charge. It is a bit off the centre so one has to walk some 15 minutes to the main road. By car it is only a few minutes though and as a result of the location, we spent a very quiet night. Breakfast was ok. Would definitely stay again.
Located in Lago Agrio, Gran Hotel de Lago - Lago Agrio is within a 15-minute walk of Nueva Loja Tourist Park and Lago Agrio Cathedral. Featured amenities include a 24-hour business center, a 24-hour front desk, and luggage storage. A roundtrip airport shuttle is complimentary at scheduled times.
Pros: The grounds are beautiful, the breakfast was good and ample
Cons: It took three tries before we got a room that did not have a major problem (Toilet leaked, A/C inoperative)
Pros: The pool was nice and big. The hotel was clean.
Cons: The neighborhood seems sketchy. The slides at pool weren’t functioning.
Pros: The hotel has clean, comfortable rooms, beautiful garden, good wifi. It's a perfect escape from the noise and hustle of Lago Agrio itself. The staff and the owners were incredible helpful and friendly.
Pros: the price/quality ratio is off. It is a good hotel, but paying more than 300 USD was far too much for just one night staying over in Lago Agrio, waiting for the bus to Cuyabeno.
With a stay at Hotel Rey Salomón in Lago Agrio, you'll be within a 10-minute walk of Lago Agrio Cathedral and Nueva Loja Tourist Park. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free self parking is available onsite.
Facing the beachfront in Nueva Loja, Planeta Azul has an outdoor pool and a bar. Among the facilities of this property are a restaurant, a 24-hour front desk and a shared kitchen, along with free WiFi throughout the property. Private parking can be arranged at an extra charge. At the guest house the rooms are fitted with a private bathroom. Guests at Planeta Azul can enjoy a buffet or an American breakfast.
Pros: The main draw of Planeta Azul is their swimming pool. Breakfast was very good. If you are going on a trip to Cuyabeno Reserve, the tour company will pick you up from this hotel directly.
Cons: Located on the main, busy road right before the bridge (noisy). Far from center of town (taxi ride was pricey if you wanted to eat in center of town). Room was not fully enclosed so any animal/bugs were free to enter (bed does come with bug net). Sheets were not the cleanest. But if you are not too picky and are on a backpacker's budget, this isn't too bad.
Pros: Location for the pick up for most jungle tours so was convenient to stay here.
Cons: "restaurant" is an overstatement. Facilities quite basic so quite poor value for money.
Cons: The place looks bad, except the pool which is big and seems to be clean. I think that the place would look better if the host would not be so lazy and unfriendly. She insisted to pay immediately after our arrival and then she disappeared until late in the night. This place needs a lot of improvement and maintenance. I think it looked good 20 years ago, but now everything is old. Laziness is bad when you have to take care of a hostel. The photos are old too. The rooms were not clean, a lot of spider webs and dust. The only one faucet was sooo rusty, I was afraid to cut my finger in it The breakfast had molded bread.
Cons: - noise from the street and bridge, - unorganised host during the breakfast, - not clean neither room neither breakfast area and kitchen, - neither one english word, - not good breakfast.
Pros: Called my Amazon lodge and they could pick me up at this hotel instead of the meeting point somewhere in the center. Breakfast was good. :)
Cons: There is no restaurant facility in the evening (while it is stated on their page) so arriving in the evening by taxi and because the location is outside of the center I would have to take a taxi back to the center of 2x 5 dollars. Room didn't lock and was dirty with small bug/animal excrements everywhere. They charged a surplus of 1.50 dollars extra on the booking stating it was 'tax'.
Pros: Veronica was extremely helpful and kind. She looked after me and fixed amazing breakfasts which were different each day. The room is away from the town center and quiet. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay!
Cons: I have no complaints at all! I wish I could have stayed longer.
Cons: I had to ring the bell multiple times to get someone to let me in at 9:00. There is no on site restaurant and it’s not near anything else so I had to have a bag of chips for dinner. It’s very bug-infested. The “breakfast” was the worst I’ve had traveling for 2 months and is a complete ripoff for $3.50. If your jungle tour is picking you up here I recommend staying elsewhere! Internet did not work.
Pros: We had alot of help to arrange a tour an the pool was great for the kids. Watching monkeys from the room.
A stay at HOTEL LA CASCADA places you in the heart of Lago Agrio, within a 10-minute walk of Lago Agrio Cathedral and Nueva Loja Tourist Park. Featured amenities include a computer station, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Pool. However, it is sometimes a bit dirty, but when it is cleaned, it is really nice (we stayed a few times). Quite used (the room and pool area) but we could see that painting and some renewables where going on. Nice restaurant and ok breakfast.
Cons: Beds could be better.
Pros: The staff is extremely helpful and the pool really refreshing. It's nice to hear water every where you go because of the pool and fountains. The location is ok.
Cons: It's an old hotel that needs renovation. The showers seem fancy but don't work very well.
Pros: The pool is great for kids.
Cons: The beds are incredibly hard.
Pros: Basic hotel/motel in the middle of town. Room was big but the overall impression was that things were getting a bit tired. An added bonus was the the gas explosion outside our room in the early evening. With the language barrier we didn't find out what the problem was and a workman was there early the next morning to fix it.
Cons: Despite stating English is spoken here we didn't meet any staff with more than a couple of words of English. It wasn't really a problem and we got by with our phrase book.
Pros: The hotel is on the main street in Agro Agrio, but set back in a court yard, so it was very quiet. The swimming pool was large and excellent. Breakfast was basic. The restaurant was nice and the food tasty and reasonably priced. A very well run hotel and great stay! Just minutes away from the bus terminal and airport.
Cons: We had no issues, except maybe a few more options for breakfast would have been nice.

The accommodation features a 24-hour front desk, room service and currency exchange for guests. At the hotel, the rooms include a desk, a flat-screen TV and a private bathroom. All rooms at Hotel El Indio have air conditioning and a wardrobe.
Pros: The owners are amazing people. The hotel is super clean and nice and very comfortable! It is very close to the bus terminal.
Pros: The room was massive and very clean.
Cons: At one point we were looked inside the hotel with no way to get out and couldn't find anyone around the front desk to help. But after a while someone unlocked the front door. Also the pillow on our bed was so massive we couldn't use it at night. Ended up using the towels as pillows.
Cons: They have charged us 12Dollar for a pizza...
Pros: This hotel was located on a dusty road at the edge of town but it was clean and comfortable with a big bed. Our room was huge with many windows. It had a mini fridge. We looked out over a park with basketball, volley ball and soccer courts and in the evening, we found we were an the middle of things, not on the edge, and it was good! We bought ice cream and watched the sports. And enjoyed the whole scene. It was a very friendly community. Our hosts were very caring and took care of us. Regarding the shower, it was cold at first till we learned that there was a button that had to be pressed outside the room to make it hot. Much better. All in all, a good place to stay on your way to the jungle.
Cons: The hotel did not serve breakfast but there were places nearby.
Pros: The hotel was clean and the rooms were large and air conditioned. The hotel was a short walking distance from the terminal terrestre.
Cons: The booking.com location is not in the right location.
Pros: A big room with air conditioning was nice
Cons: It's location is not as shown on booking.com. However, it is just a few blocks from the terminal terrestre.
Pros: Welcoming staff, clean and spacious room
Cons: Nice hotel but location was far away from any restaurants, shops, etc. Really in the middle of nowhere with no breakfast option. Noisy throughout the night with roosters and dogs nearby.
Pros: Very modern and clean. Spacious room and bathroom. Quiet at night which is s huge plus in the very noisy city
Pros: Large, clean room. Very accommodating staff.
Cons: Light fixtures in rooms need lamp shades. Also need a bath mat. Excellent value.

Pros: Spacious room (4 beds) Extremely friendly and helpful staff
Cons: No hot water in the shower Pretty far outside of the city centre
Pros: The Hotel ist located close to the principal bús Station of Lago Agrio.
Cons: First, the Hotel forgot our reservation per booking.com. The room was extremely hot and wet and there was mould on the walls. The shower had no hot water.
