Everything about this B & B was outstanding. The entire facility was very nice, comfortable, and clean. The staff was friendly, helpful, and very accomodating. Hotel Employee is a first class lady and host who does it all! I look forward to my next vi Loacation was not necessarily convenient when coming to Chicago for shopping, dining, etc. along Michigan Ave, but is still only a short cab ride away.
the historic building, internally excellent but externally in great need of repair. sevice none existent. offered wrong grade of room, change room still not of correct grade. no bath, shower did not work, no pressure. No towels for 2 hours on arrival, only 1 bath robe. No staff in premises after 7pm at night, emergancy night number for service not answered. 1hr for breakfast, no choice only 1 item. We were the only people in the hotel on the first night. 2 inexperenced staff
The location was pretty good. The staff is terrible. They treat you as if they do not want the business. They are rude fromthe beginning. They lecture their customers. They actually make threats. I've never seen anything like it.
Interesting house, nice room, very helpful staff.
our waffle breakfast was amazing. the room had a lovely view of the back garden and nice big windows that opened for fresh air. I used the jacuzzi 3 x for muscle relief from my conference. the breakfast the 1st day wasn't too good. Plain flat tasting scrambled eggs w/burnt bacon and (instant?) decaf. The next breakfast made up for it tho... The Mansion needs some maintenance upkeep. The window shade was broken, the air was warm in the room and too cool in the bathroom. There was no individual control. All else was good.
Architectural gem! Beautifully restored and maintained with obvious care. The amenities are wonderful and the public spaces are impressive. We liked the frig that had juice, sodas, and cheese available at all times. Only that there isn't much shaded space on the deck area. But that's minor.
The location is in a wonderful neighborhood with lots of shops and restaurants. The staff is very friendly and stays out of your way.
laid back place, back door entry so you don't bother other guests.
I liked very much the Lady of House of Two Urns. Hotel was quiet and crew very friendly. Location was perfect for city trip. Subway and bus stop were near. Only minus was, that hotell hard to find, becourse there`s no visible sign on the wall. Best regards Ari Marttila, Finland
I like breakfast at this apartment and It is near cta. I feel no safe when I went back at after evening or early 12:00 pm.The guest should take the cap or their vehicle.
it is a fantastic antique designed bed and breakfast place. I definitely had a great time, staff are very friendly and helpful. breakfast was amazing everyday , I have never seen such a place that you can specify your breakfast choice in detail. I think shared bathroom and toilet is not my type (just a preference) but it was always clean and in good condition so I cannot say it was inconvenient.
It was in the center of the city and close to everything The remote control of the TV set was not working and was never fixed during my 3 day stay. The breakfast (though it is advertised as bed and breakfast) was lousy (cereal and cold boiled eggs!!)
The whole experience was very nice. I loved the antiques.
Awesome staff, nice old furnishings, beautiful parlor and library and good value. The beds could be a bit newer, and if you like all the mod cons, don't stay at this hotel, it is charmingly vintage.
They had a nice friendly dog and he added a nice homey touch to the stay.
Stayed here for two nights while visiting Northwestern for a speaking engagement. Hotel was ideally located, a good value, and appealing in a quirky way. Staff was extremely helpful/friendly. The continental breakfast is mediocre.
The Inn has charm and fits in with a visit to the Chicago area.
I loved this place! I want to come back. It is a unique property - VERY clean and comfortable. It is special and not a cookie-cutter mundane chain motel. It is a 1920's historical women's club now welcoming hotel guests. It has all the historical charm - NOT gutted and remodeled - so it may not be everyone's choice. I really liked the distinction and the VERY friendly staff. I liked it completely and I like an unusual and special experience off the beaten track.
