The place was very quiet (in fact, when I arrived everything was dark and I didn't see anyone, there just was a key waiting for me at the reception), and the people were accomodating. I needed breakfast early, because of the conference I was attending, and they allowed me to have breakfast earlier than the regular time. Also, I wanted to go to the sauna out of the scheduled time, and they put it on early for me. The room was nice: spacious and pleasant.
There was a water cooker in the room, but no tea bags, you had to buy those yourself (but maybe that's the custom in Austria?) Breakfast was a bit basic, but I guess that given that there were not that many people in the hotel at the time, they do not put too much food there, because the remainder will have to be thrown away. The sauna officially is only on from four to eight, so an evening sauna (which I like) is not possible. There were not so many towels in the shower (only one small one and one large one), but for a traveller alone that is reasonable. The view from my room was not very good (a courtyard with a car), but I expect from other rooms it will be great (snowy mountains).
The location to the Ski area was fantastic. The hotel is spotless clean and comfortable with a nice spa area. Clean bedding and towels every day and a basic but good breakfast with fresh jams eggs and bread and cheese and meats.
The staff could be more Freindly towards the guests. Also I realise I booked a single room with no view but the hotel was empty and I was refused a upgrade to a room with a view which was very disappointing.
Perfect b&b. Can't think of anything I needed extra. Boot room by front door and not down stairs so you just step out front door with skis and bus stop 20 yards across road. Buses every 10mins take you to both gondola stations in obergurgl and over to hochgurgl and soelden. Bus stop electronic info board let's you know when next bus is due in minutes. Martinshof is exactly between both obergurgl gondolas. Ski hire shop directly across road as is pizza takeaway or can eat it in hotel when you book. Anneliese and katja very friendly and approachable to sort out any needs, booked me taxi on Saturday morning. Anneliese makes homemade jam and schnapps. Rooms not too hot yet radiators very user friendly for heating clothes. No traffic noise. Cold meats, varied cornflakes fruit jam and toast at breakfast. Room clean and aired. Info on travel, mountain and eateries readily available. Value for money 100%.
Perfect b&b. Can't think of anything I needed extra. Pixner family was very helpful and it's the perfect location in centre of obergurgl to get to either gondolas, bus stop opposite and goes to both gondolas and hochgurgl.
Location in the village is perfect for the lifts. The staff were really friendly and welcoming. Rooms were ok sized but very clean and comfortable with excellent views from the balcony. Bathroom also small but spotlessly clean and clearly new. Shower excellent with good water pressure. Breakfast was very good given the price. Overall a very good value accommodation in the heart of the village.
We had a triple room and a double room. The triple was simply the same as the double with a rather basic sofa bed. The sofa bed was very hard and not comfortable for a fully grown adult. Probably ok for a child or even a teenager, but as an official triple the owners should find a way to have more comfortable adult-sized third beds. No other issues though; this is a very good guest house overall.
Location is great - directly on the bus route and 10 meters from the front door is a stop. Walk to the nearest lift is 3 minutes. We had a "superior" room, so it was a bit larger and had a view of mountains and into town. Breakfast was sufficient. All in all you get what you pay for - if you want 4* then you pay for that...we got what we expected for what we paid. Family run place - very nice and accomodating.
Bath towels could be "heavier" material. Pillows could have more to them.
