STAY AWAY!! DON'T BE FOOLED! 1) Front desk staff is utterly incompetent and lazy. I got a reasonable deal through priceline, but when I checked in, the front desk staff would not honor the price! Had to go through a lengthy manual override with an offsite manager. 2) No non-smoking rooms were available. 3) Rooms are very noisy and in very bad shape, poorly cleaned. Only the lobby area has been renovated. 4) Room had broken towel bar that nobody has cared to fix, towels were about to fall into toilet. There was no shampoo. Entry door was smashed in. 5) This place is DUMP. Stay AWAY.
I liked the area I had to get my room card recoded twice and when I finally got in it looked like someone was laying on the bed, I asked to switch rooms.
We only stayed here over night to catch an early morning flight. The front desk personnel were very efficient and very friendly. The room was very clean and comfortable.
Close to the airport, great price, good breakfast, clean and nice. The air conditioner was a little noisy when running.
Clean and perfect hotel in downtown Tempe. Friendly staff and clean comfortable rooms. Highly recommended.
The location near the University was vibrant with plenty of restaurants within walking distance. The pool area was also nice For the price, we expected nicer rooms and services. The bathrooms are small, and rooms are a bit outdated. The recent carpet cleaning left a nauseating smell that made the stay uncomfortable.
Not much to say, this is simply a nice place for the money in a great location. It's easily accessible to I10 for travelers transiting through.
Amazing resort!! The resort fee! Get rid of that! Total BS!
Great location in downtown Tempe, Excellent staff Complimentary valet parking was terrific! Rooms were very nice Great amenities, with a pool bar!
Pluses: bed, room size, courtyard, bar in lobby, location location location. Minuses: limited number of two bed rooms, terrible roll away, dated and impossibly cramped exercise room, nonexistent security, low pressure shower.
Great location - easy to walk downs town. Excellent pool to beat the heat.
Beautiful hotel with great customer service. Best hotel experience. Will book future stays here!
Everyone that worked there that I interacted with was very friendly and it was just a very smooth nice stay. The room was nice and clean. I definitely would have liked to stay there longer. Nothing which is what you want. I don't know exactly how they would have handled an issue had it arose, but I would guess based on how friendly they were that they would have done well.
The price. The room was not cleaned as well as expected.
No airport shuttle, no breakfast, None smoking room used to be a smoking room
Quiet, comfy & service was good. Cleaner had a very strong odour.
Lady who checked us in did an excellent job by being more annoyed about a little delay, than we were. There was no ice machine on second floor
Rooms were clean, beds were comfortable and loved the swimming pool. It was near the Arizona Mills Mall and Phoenix Zoo.
The customer service was good, front desk was friendly and offered suggestions of events nearby. Very close to airport and Mill ave-great bar/college scene. Overall clean. Nothing extra. You get what you pay for. Felt safe in surrounding area Walls are kind of thin. Can hear straight through. Not ideal for light sleepers.
Spacious and breakfast buffet. Great location
The location was not as convenient as I had in mind
It is located close to the mall and restaurant. It was okay for a night stay.
The staff was friendly, breakfast was good, and the hotel itself was lovely. I stayed in the King executive suite. Really enjoyed my stay. No complaints.
The staff was excellent! The beds were very comfortable! The hotel was very clean. The location wasn't in a good neighborhood and we didn't feel safe walking around...especially after dark.
The accommodations offered were great! Early breakfast with great, healthy options. Excellent friendly, helpful staff! Quick shuttle service to the airport. Excellent area to kill time between overnight flights (mall, restaurants). Great in room dining options via delivery. Comfortable, clean, safe environment.
Location was convenient to my meetings. There were french fries and grapes all over the floor when I arrived in my room. It was after midnight and I didn't even try to request another room.
Staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast area was sticky everywhere, but that wasn't really the fault of the hotel - just messy people. Bed was hard as a rock this time, during previous visits they were not so firm. The bathroom has trouble drying out.
Price, clean + free breakfast Facility needs update... L
Overall standard motel, good pool, standard rooms, great location, great service. Had a room that smelled terrible. I asked the front desk and they were willing to swap rooms, or go in to thoroughly clean it. I swapped rooms, with no hassle and no questions asked.
We checked out two days early cause it just wasn't what we wanted. Wifi was weak. Breakfast was over by 9 but when I wet at 850 it was already over. Overall experience lacked comfort.
Clean, spacious, great location and great value. Pillows could stand replacing. They were clean but no support.
I'm a big fan of these properties but this one had a terrible sewer gas smell which staff attributed to the increased burden on the Tempe sewer system that affected random rooms at random times during move in weekend.
I like the room and how clean it is.. thats it the customer service there wasnt that great, and i wasnt feeling welcomed probably not going back to this hotel thank you anyways
The staff was friendly (although it was understaffed), and the breakfast was great. The whole place seemed a little run down. Our room looked onto a rooftop covered in bird droppings and a stairway. The AC didn't cool the whole room because there was no central air. The bathroom light had trouble coming on. The room layout was odd.
Nice clean room Seemed like a 1000 kids in the pool all the time
The location convenience and price were very good!! The Happy hour was a very, Very pleasant surprise. The staff could have been more engaging. They were not rude, in fact they were very attentive and polite, just not very outgoing.
Staff was friendly, courtesy, professional.
i stayed there during an overnight layover for a flight. Since the layover was over 12 hours, I could not ship my luggage to my final destination. So I had some heavy luggage with me. Without an elevator, I struggled with my bags to get them up the stairs. There didn't seem to be an elevator, nor staff to help us with that.
Location is convenient by the Arizona mills mall. The swimming pool was clean and nice. Next door to a strip club. The breakfast room was filled with employees and their children eating leaving no room for guests. The workout facilities were virtually nonexistent. The equipment was inoperative except for what elliptical machine and it was a narrow miserable room in a sketchy back corner of the second floor of the hotel. The electronic key system had to be reset three times and the three days we were there which locked us out of our room. I did not feel safe in the area seem to be crowded with transients from the strip club and the gas station next door which is a local hoodlum hang out. The residential area surrounding the hotel is very sketchy. Don't make a wrong turn.
Location, outdoor access to rooms (no long hallways), refrigerator and microwave, friendly staff at front desk. We have stayed at this hotel several times. This time our room had a somewhat peculiar bathroom sink. It was somewhat high and the counter followed the curve of the sink but was very wide so that it was quite a reach to get to the faucets and the sink. It was as if the vanity was designed for a very tall person with long arms. We have never noticed this in the past so perhaps it is just this particular room.
The suite was very spacious. The faculties seemed old and upkeep seemed a bit lacking.
Businesses within walking distance, shuttle from airport, lots of extras provided like blowdryer, ironing board, microwave, fridge, diswasher and separate tv couch area seperate from bed.nice hot continental breakfast from 630am to 10am. Bathrooms were clean but gross or need of upgrade appearance more or less cosmetic. They provide a kitchenette but provide no pots or pans to cook with, idk if you had to ask for them or not but unrealistic to pack cookware if flying or to buy cheap cookware, but for someone driving its useful. Bottled water supposed to be brought everyday but I guess you only get 1 bottle no matter how long you stay. Tv is limited to basic and 1 hbo channel, no on demand and they have a cafe on site which has a nice continental breakfast and alcholic beverages but no room service menu.
value, breakfast, free parking, free PHX shuttle, friendly front desk only one small waste basket in our suite. need two.
The staff was accomidating. The room was outstanding. The bed was comfortable and the a/c, appliances and wifi was awesome. The staff had a clean crib ready to go for our son. The room was cleaned everyday and we just had a great experience. The cleaning people came a little too early for my liking. The breakfast wasn't horrible, but im glad there was a Waffle House next door.
They did not even clean my room the second day. Worst experience of my life!
Filthy carpet, sticky.
the location was perfect and the staff outstanding. the complimentary breakfast was very good. Everything was great!
Great prices an nice rooms:) N/A
The staff and breakfast were excellent. The manager gave out little flash lights to all the kids at breakfast and was really friendly. The breakfast was really good for the price of the hotel. Omelets sausage biscuits and gravy make your own waffles cereals juices pastries. The area is not the best since it is directly behind a strip club. Some of the others in the area maybe guests at the hotel were a bit cede. I'll spend a little more next time and go to one of the other hotels by the mall.
Charged $5 for nothing.
I had to travel from Phoenix/Mesa Gateway Airport which was almost 33 miles to get to the Hotel. My smartphone gave perfect directions for a late night arrival. Staff was very courteous. I was given a room at the end of the hall - very quiet. Nice mix of people in the breakfast eating area. Very peaceful, quiet location. There were numerous seating areas outside the front entrance. The back cushions were missing on the chairs causing you to sit back against metal bars - uncomfortable.
Staff was excellent and hotel was great. Sink did not drain but staff fixed immediately.
Friendly staff. Clean. Nice Pool. Not many choice of restaurants within walking distance.
Hotel style was interesting. The outside was dusty and surrounding were dark.
There was a dead cockroach in our room. The manager never contacted us after we called and left a voicemail message for him. The pool was closed for maintenance but no work ever seemed to be done to rectify the situation. The "gym" was the size of a postage stamp with almost no equipment.
Breakfast was spartan, poor selection of fresh fruits, cereals, breads. No breakfast meats or cheeses. breakfast bar was poorly attended resulting in less than cleanly appearance. Room amenities were almost non-existent. Staff seemed tired and generally disinterested, perfunctory.
The shuttle to and from the airport was excellent. Having breakfast there was nice since I had an early flight. We were also close to Denny's. The noise level. I was right by the elevator and there were people coming and going all night.
The bar and bartenders were exceptional!
Everything about this stay was very smooth. From check in to check out, no hiccups. Better than what I could of asked for. The only thing we didn't like was the comfort of the bed. Both of our backs were hurting by the time we checked out. Kinda firm, and not very forming to your own body shape.
Modern design. Stayed at Aloft before. I like the rooms that are sectioned off from the living area better, like the ones at Arundel Mills, MD.
Josh, the manager, took his time out to actually Google up the directions to Sedona and print me a map. He also helped me with finding a laundromat and directions back to the airport. The breakfast station was also wonderful with the Otis Spunkmeyer muffins. The carpet is dirty and the walls are painted so darkly that anything or anyone that hits the walls chips the paint off. Also, the website made it look much bigger and better than it really is.
The location is good- next to light rail and close to ASU and freeways. Friendly staff. We were put in a smoking room- apparently these still exist. Smelled so bad. Dirty, outdated room. Dirty floors. Only the gross, foamy bedspread over the sheet.
Staff are all very friendly and helpful. Room felt a bit unclean but it was comfortable. Location is super; close to many restaurants and shops.
The staff was friendly and welcoming. The location is right in front of the light rail - 5 min ride to Mill Ave. Upgrades were definitely needed for the bathroom. The Internet was not free.
Good service, very cheap, comfortable beds and pillows Rooms smell a little funky when you first get in but just turn on the AC and it goes away, also very small and terrible towels
n/a The freaks come out at night.
The staff was very helpful in every way. The breakfast was very good, but the area is a little small to easily acccommidate the number of people trying to acquire there food. It would bee nice if you had free WIFI in the room areas
Breakfast was great (eggs and potatoes, fruit salad, pastries). Room was clean and suites our needs. Pull-out sofa bed wasn't the best but it worked
Nothing The place needs renovation. A/c was loud and not cooling. Sound from the construction site next to the building kept me awake once they start working at 3.00AM
pool bed was a little to firm for me
The bed was comfortable and the AC was continuous The room needed some small maintenance fixtures. There was no microwave.
Staff was friendly, breakfast in the restaurant was good, the gym was in nice shape Location was poor if you want to have any real dining options without a car, the housekeeping was lacking (missing towels, broken shower, hair in the tub). Would have expected better from SPG.
The beds were amazing! The hotel was nice and clean and the tv had a lot of channels! The pool area was awesome espexially at night and the outdoor fireplace was awesome. They had room service and starbucks. The restraunt didny have the best service but was also aesthetically nice and had a nice atmosphere.
that we left within an hour of checking in. The place was a nightmare. The doors had locks that had been pulled out of the door with a vice, The hallway walls were so filthy I could feel the bed bugs before we hit the room. The "breakfast" was served up in a dirty area by the front desk with many "live-in" residents coming in from other buildings showing up in their pajamas and underthings. The room did not have the amenities advertised. The "doorman" did exactly that - hung around the front door and at the front desk to capture guest credit card numbers and did not move a muscle to get our luggage or even show us to the room. The front desk clerk was an arrogant jerk who attempted to steal my daughter's credit card. DO NOT STAY HERE We checked in having paid in full through kayak. The front desk clerk asked for my daughter's credit card to "confirm the number" and, instead used it as a debit card to get herself $100 without disclosing that she had taken the money. We called to our bank and confirmed that this had happened at which time I visited the front desk to ask what the $100 was for and everyone -including the desk clerk Shamika denied all knowledge. I had to call the police and file a report for theft, call Marriott and ask that this property be disenrolled. We left the property within an hour of arriving. It looks like a flophouse of shooting gallery in the hallways with many permanent guests. We later played hell getting the money back that the desk clerk stole. The amenities are not as advertised - no hairdryer in the room and none brought up after a call to the front desk, signs of bedbugs. We checked out within the hour...DO NOT STAY HERE.
The room was roomy and it was nice having a full kitchen. The lay out was a little funky. The TV was small and didn't have any display adjustments. My picture was dark and I couldn't lighten it up. Can't watch TV from bed without moving the furniture. Lastly, the free breakfast as far as free breakfasts go was pretty poor. When I got there 8:45 there wasn't much left except dried up turkey sausage and people waiting around for more food to be brought out or their turn to use the single waffle iron.
Noisy. Even at 2 AM. Very old. Needs remodel.
Had a small kitchen in the room every thing you needed! Really neat! Bathroom was a little small
The room and facility were clean if a bit dated. The front desk staff were some of the nicest, friendliest we've encountered. No restaurant on site. The roon and facility were a bit dated, but clean.
Quiet. Nice facility and staff Nice breakfast and was a great value. You'd expect to pay more even in Phoenix in August
Great service, clean & spacious rooms! The check in staff was extremely courteous. We arrived rather late (3am) from CA. We were upgraded to a suite and added an hour to our check out time. It was the best sleep we had on our way to Texas. Our stay left us with a great impression of the Phoenix & Tempe area.
Clean, comfortable Breakfast
The staff at the front desk was helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good. Bed comfortable
Liked everything. Close to airport, shops, restaurants, highway system, takes pets, rooms quiet even when fully booked, great service with shuttle to dining and shops and airport, refrig and microwave available in some rooms, great hot breakfast with fruit waffles too, attractive modern rooms, FOX news channel, ticks all my boxes. Cons: can't think of a thing.
Family really enjoyed - spacious, clean, nice grounds. Staff was great.
The young lady at the desk was very welcoming, felt like an old friend. They were very accommodating, at the last minute I let them know I needed a ground level room. My mom is blind and has trouble walking, location of the room was perfect! What astounded us was how clean the room smell when we opened the door. Will definitely return!
Great hotel for the money if your visit takes you to ASU campus and you have transportation. The ice machines are located only on the ground floor.
Had to cancel last minute.
Comfort and location. The breakfast could have more heathy selections.
Big home like comfortable rooms, clean inside and out, big confortable bed, nice and polite staff thumbs up for this property Slow elevator,
the hotel was fantastic. no complaints. breakfast was also really good. everything went great. no complaints
The room was nice and roomy we had the suite bed was comfy free breakfast was pretty good compared to other hotels that had free breakfast did not like that when we arrived at the hotel we checked in they gave us our keys and went to our room and the door would not open had to go back down to the lobby so that they could activate it this happened last time we stayed here .
The beds were very comfortable. The tub was getting old
good staff.minds ther own business
Enjoyed breakfast, room size, appliances in room. The pool, to small.
