I liked the friendly and efficiency of the staff. The reastaurant was outstanding. The room was vey unclean, there was old food in the dishes. The bathroom flooded everytime you had a shower due to a poorly designed shower curtain.
By and large very pleasant .The room we had was comfortable with a nice little outside deck. Our room was a cold walk from the restaurant .Also the first morning the dining room staff said we were entitled to a continental breakfast wheras I knew we were entitled to a full cooked breakfast. After discussion and checking we were found to be correct but it was all a bit embarrassing and unprofessional. The kitchenette in our room had a shelf over the sink which I hit my head on .This needs a redesign but I guess you only do it once!
Location, reception staff, location, food, location No free wifi, noisy concrete design, no in room cutlery plates
The lay out and general appearance of the hotel was superb the staff were freindly and helpful the views fantastic We were able to hear word for word conversations from next door even though they seemed lovely couple who were not loud was very off putting. The toilet and general plumbing seemed to have a problem. The fridge was so loud we had to turn it off during the night.
We were very pleased with the dining facilities at the hotel. The setting was beautiful at sunset and the food was excellent. I didn't see any reason to pay for Wi-Fi connection but understand that it's an outside provider
We found the staff very efficient and friendly. The service and food was very good and the view to the Hokiang heads stunning especially at sunset. We liked the idea of bringing the cooked breakfast from the kitchen seperate from the continental breakfast. In your waitangi hotel the food was over cooked and some of it cold with the way they operate their breakfast menu. The bathroom to our unit needs heating and an extraction fan to remove steam which fogs up the mirrors. This seamms to be a common problem in New Zealand.
