Pros: A modern/industrial design that caters to the needs of cyclists doing the Shimanami Kaido bike course. Rooms are new, clean, well designed, and comfortable. The staff were great, always helpful and kind. The location is perfect - easy walk to the train station, along the harbor front, and very near to the ferry to begin the ride.
The building has parking for bikes inside, lounge areas, cafe and restaurant, and even a bike shop under the same roof. Not a traditional Japanese hotel, not a traditional Western hotel, but a very positive and unique experience that I would recommend. You do not have to be a cyclist to enjoy the hotel, but if you are a cyclist you shouldn't miss this place!
Pros: Hotel Cycle was the best accommodation of my trip. The entire hotel was beautiful and the rooms themselves made me never want to leave. Everything was incredibly clean, the beds were comfortable, and the room was well taken care of. The bathroom alone was a game changer, especially the bath tub—perfect for relaxing after a long day. They also provided every amenity you could possibly need, as well as included a welcome drink at the bar as part of your check in package. If you stay, make sure you pay the little extra to have breakfast included with your stay. It is very worth it and very delicious.
Cons: The restaurant was expensive for dinner.
