Everything was fine, and about what I expected for this trip. But compared to the level of service one would expect from a hotel this price in the US, Europe, or even other small Caribbean islands, this hotel left much to be desired.
Pros: Great location on the water. Nice snorkeling just feet away from hotel restaurant.
Cons: Staff was unhelpful. Waitstaff at hotel restaurant (with one shining exception) acted like sullen teenagers who have been asked to take out the garbage--lots of sighs and eye-rolling at any request, no matter how small. Exception: Maid service was great.
The Old Gin House is just 1.4 mi (2.3 km) from the airport and offers a shuttle (available 24 hours) for USD 15 per vehicle one way. After splashing around at the outdoor pool, you can grab a bite to eat at the restaurant or unwind with a drink at one of the 2 bars/lounges. Other highlights include a terrace and a garden, and rooms offer balconies and premium bedding.
