I was able to stay in a very safe, clean, and luxurious hotel with an excellent view of the valley for the price of an economy motel. The ENTIRE experien from booking the reservation to check out definitely exceeded my expectations! There are NO dislikes! Again, I WILL DEFINITELY be a regular guest on my business trips.
the room was modern and clean with upgrades of fridge and micro. The breakfast was better than most inexpensive properties and the pool and BBQ would have been great if it had been warmer weather. It was hard to identify the sign from the main road...Oracle RD. The room wasn't really serviced every day but we didn't need much just clean towels and we got them from the desk.
Red lion was easy to find, had a nice pool area and the rooms were small but had a cozy feel to them. Our room was very well cleaned so I was happy about that!! The hotel was close enough for us to check out tucson for the first time! Breakfast- ew it was awful, eggs had a powder taste and hard bacon didn't even taste real. I ended up having juice and we went somewhere else for breakfast. Checking in- the girl didn't say hello. I work in customer service should be main priority to make the guest feel welcomed. Then I told her I had reserved a room online she looked it up had me sign a paper without telling me any details to the paper. I read the paper (yes fast) and they charge 50$ to everyone that will come off of your bill at checkout. I didn't know I wasn't told about it. I talked with a different front desk girl and she said oh yeah we do that. Ok...... now it's been 4 days and my bank account goes from the total with the 50$ included withdrawn to credit account to withdrawn again. Why would they put back in the full amount to take it out again. Just credit my account 50$ and be done. Overall if they stepped their customer service and told guests about this fee and fixed breakfast we would come back. But we are going to the Hilton next trip
Very nice place to stay. Excellent facilities including outdoor pool. Happy hour and breakfast were top notch. Room was very comfortable. Very reasonable price. Found out that I could have saved $15 by booking directly with hotel instead of using Kayak.
The pool area was beautiful. Good location. Big rooms! Very spacious. Never was able to take a hot shower. I had a little bit of warm water but it didn't last more than about 30 seconds. The ice machine by my room was out of ice all the time. My room door was open when I checked in on Wednesday night and although everything appeared to be okay it did make me a little nervous initially.
everything ! clean friendly generous comf xxxx nothing xxx
This was probably the best value I have ever gotten on a hotel. It is very nice and has great amenities. I feel bad because it has changed names several times recently, suggesting it is struggling financially. It is out of the center of town, so take that into consideration when making your reservation.
It is a quiet clean motel in a convenient location, overall a good value.
Nice area. Stores and food was close. None.
The room was nicely appointed with a comfy bed and new bedding. Fridge, microwave, and coffeemaker in the room, new-seeming carpet, ironing board, and a good wifi signal even at the extreme corner of the building. Even though my room was close to busy Oracle Road, I didn't notice any traffic noise. The complimentary breakfast was way above average, with lots of hot food options. The pool and hot tub area looked nice, though I didn't use it. The best part is that you can use your room key to access the Platinum Fitness next door, which is a full-sized gym with pool, sauna, and steam room. All in all very nice and a great value. They charge an additional $5.00 facility fee per day, so be aware of that. I felt it was worth it, with the ample breakfast and the Platinum Fitness access that you get.
Excellent value for money, good sized rooms, clean and comfortable. Nice breakfast.
Staff was kind to put my elderly parents in close walking distance to breakfast and parking lot.
It was very pleasant to see two luggage racks in the closet. The room was very large and well planned out. There were so many buildings for the rooms and they were poorly marked. They cover such a large area and it's easy to get lost finding your room. Good thing the rain had stopped when we returned from downtown Tucson in the late evening. A lot of walking is involved.
Hiden charges for valet parking and a 25/day resort charge
The property is beautiful, the staff was pleasant, helpful and efficient. N/A
Didn't like the extra $20 a day resort fee
I loved the staff and the room and the facility I have no complaints. I wish i had gone during the summer
Rooms very outdated and smelled horrible..
I want to thank Kevin, an engineer over at the Westin. He was able to get my car started after I had trouble starting my car. Staff was friendly and helpful I had some noisy neighbors, the first night which made it difficult to sleep. It took until 2:30 am for me to call to complain to the front desk to get the security staff to do anything about it.
Loved the views, services, room, location-luxurious.
Great for kids
Beautiful grounds, comfortable rooms, very pleasant staff. During the days we were off sightseeing, and enjoyed relaxing in the whirlpools in the evening. Not enough staff around pool. Drunk "professionals" strip-teasing down to undies at pool (save it for Cancun, guys).
Loved the grounds and the pools!
I love the efficiency and friendliness of the staff. I love that no one pushed us into a sales meeting like so often happen at Wyndham resorts. There was a bit of dog hair (cat hair? on the floor of the unit...like it had not been vacuumed thoroughly in between guests.
This facility is a great desert escape for a few days. We did not use many of the amenities as we were visiting family for the most part. However, the room was satisfactory with the exception of exterior noise. We had a lower level room that gave us the priveledge of hearing every footstep and conversation from the upper room. Additionally, the entry doors need some major soundproofing; every time someone came to their room, it was as if they were standing in our room holding a conversation. Finally, there was an oily substance on the powder room counter that was never removed during our three days at the facility. The counter likely needs replacement.
Our second room was okay. First room was very noisy from room above.
Loved the great big room, and that there were two sinks in the bathroom. The hotel accommodated our dog and put us in a lovely first floor room that lead right onto the walking path for easy access to the outdoors. Food was also great! We will definitely be back! The patio area could use some TLC.
Nice resort. Comfortable rooms. Pool not clean. Staff needs training.
Grounds, walking path Location Unpretentiousness Pools Tennis courts Good wi-fi Rooms need higher watt bulbs for reading $20/day "resort & wi-fi fee"....just add it to room rate!
The grounds were pretty with a lot of activities available like tennis, basketball, volleyball and swimming. There is a trail that goes around the resort that can be used for walking or jogging. The room was spacious and comfortable. Food was reasonably priced. Some of the buildings had a dated 80's look from the outside. There was a badly peeling sofa in our room.
Nice location. Beautiful grounds. Accommodating staff. The rooms were a bit run down. Had to switch rooms because the first room was clearly not cleaned. the next room was just surface clean. Furniture was well worn.
Great views of city and mountains Rooms need upgrades
Being in a spot so well taken care of with great views everywhere you look, the perfume of flowers and the song of birds is wonderfully relaxing. The staff is very friendly as well. Lighting in the room could be better.
Accommodating staff, beautiful desert environment, close to restaurants, city events, and desert hiking trails. Enjoyed a most pleasant stay. Noisy room location that was willingly changed for us upon our request.
A beautiful desert setting. Attractive and clean. The pool was very warm. Highly recommended.
The facility With the exception of the Flying V restaurant the food was subpar. Waitstaff at pool were incompetent.
This is a very nice hotel, with a great location in the foothills. The service was excellent and facility was very well taken care of. The pool area could have been a bigger with more accommodations, as it filled up with no room for someone not getting down early and claiming spots. Not ideal for people wanting to be active then relax by the pool.
The facilities were beautiful. However, the cost was high to stay there. The trails, golf courses and restaurants were great. We enjoyed our stay. The family pool right outside the main building has no "closing time". Now, we were there during spring break; however, individuals including children were still out playing "very loudly" in the pool at 1:30 a.m. You received many complaints while we were there but it continued the entire time of our stay. That should be corrected. You should not be a major resort with pools that do not have closing hours and quiet time. Also, on our bill at checkout was a $25.00 charge plus $3.01 tax for everytime we charged to our room. This is ridiculous and was never disclosed to us when we checked in. I could have used my credit card and not been charged.
Staff was friendly and helpful at every turn.
Incredibly friendly, professional and efficient staff ! Beautiful desert setting adjacent to the Ventana Canyon hiking trail. Amazing walk to a beautiful waterfall on the property. We will be back again!
The facility was beyond beautiful. The only down fall was we visited on a busy holiday weekend and so with that being said the pool was over run by children that were unattended. The staff/security did not say anything as my 70yr old mother was being splashed by cups of cold water being brought back in cups by the 8 kids playing rough in the hot tub. We opted to leave the hotel for the majority of our time there due to the fact that we could not find any space that had not been over taken by these unattended children.
Room Staff attitude and service Location for the view Only nearby restaurants are owned by the hotel and are pricey
Everyone was so nice and friendly
*Great location for doing things in southwest Tucson. *Cheerful check in service (however they couldn't tell me if I was pre-paid or not). *In-room dining experience (selecting breakfast off doorknob menu) was excellent and right on time. *Room was clean and nice smelling. *No restaurants have pizza (but in-room dining does). *Was not interested in the Casino ...so didn't like the cigarette smoke leaking into the hotel lobby. *Not 100% sure of this but the pool looked only to be a maximum of 3ft deep? *Was not able to check out via TV from room (even though was told you could). *Never received hotel bill via email.
The food was good, beautifulbpool, rooms!!! The hotel was vwey stinky due to the smoky casino in the center of everything. You cannot go to lunch or dinner (was down for a conference) in the hotel without having to walk through the smoky casino. As a non smoker i suffered from headaches due to this fact.
Golf course has stunning views, but not for the faint hearted golfer, tough course and greens. Food was very good. Service from the staff was exceptional. My bed was so comfortable I did not move a muscle until waking up the next morning. Wear your sunscreen protection here and bring a jacket along for the desert night, gets pretty chilly. The wine list was very very good and so was the Cakebread, Dancing Bear. Thank you for the great experience and all the smiles from your staff.
very different setting, wonderful absolutely wonderful staff and it was just all good! Nothing, it was just wonderfully perfect.
Attentive staff, fun pool and slide for kids, feels secluded, front drive view is beautiful and peaceful. Fun 4th of July with fireworks and activities. People are friendly.
The Ritz-Carlton Dove Mountain Resort was the perfect getaway for my husband and I. Every staff member we encountered was welcoming, friendly and helpful. The attention to detail was incredible; from the artwork on the walls to the menu selections in each of the restaurants. The guest rooms are spacious and well-appointed, each with its own terrace for relaxing and listening to the Native American flute music played each night. The spa was immaculately clean and immediately relaxing, while the golf course was challenging but accessible to a wide range of players. We will definitely visit again soon!
The resort sits beautifully within the mountain range. Highlights were the guided hike (thanks Ranger Rick), the indoor/outdoor spa, the waterslide, lunch at Turquesa Grill and dinner at Ignite. The flutist during the Sunset Celebration was truly awesome. The entire family loved it, including my 9 and 12 year old girls.
I struggled to find even one tiny complaint to put on my comment card after my hotel stay. I would love to return to this hotel; it was fabulous and the service was exceptional!
My family and I chose the Ritz-Cartlon after an extensive search for resorts on all the major travel websites. We got an excellent deal that included $50 daily resort credit and complimentary breakfast for two. The reason for the trip was as a get away during our daughter's orientation at the UofA. While we were there, we experienced some very pleasant surprises. Having stayed at hotels and resorts all over the world, we found this resort to have one of the best levels of service that we've ever experienced. Simply put, 'No' doesn't appear to exist at the Ritz. =) Another pleasant surprise is that it appears that the Ritz has gotten away from the practice of a daily resort fee. The original fee we were quoted was $25/day, but upon arrival, the fee was no longer in effect. Either it was a wise traveler friendly move or they know something we don't. I'm treating it as the former. As a potential guest at the RC Dove Mountain, you have to understand that the location is in Marana, Arizona. To give a better idea, a one-way trip to the University of Arizona was about 35 minutes (with no delays). There are a couple of small shopping plazas about 5 miles away, so if you're looking to do that, it will take some time. Now the positive of the idea: The place is in a secluded spot nestled in the Tortolita mountains and is serene in both its natural surroundings and solitude. Each day we ate at Core restaurant for both breakfast and dinner. The breakfast buffet is bountiful, with something for everyone. Dinner was down right outstanding and in a couple of cases memorable. Hint: Try the honey-lavender gelato - it's to die for! The RC did have mountain bikes for guest usage. There are some good desert trails to test your skills on. Unfortunately, my daughter took a spill on some hard pack dirt and got quite the road rash. The front desk folks and bellmen pretty much fell over themselves (in a commendable way) to get my daughter patched up (her hand looked like hamburger and sh...
Beautiful grounds and buildings. Many activities ( spa, pool etc) Helpful staff. Restaurants excellent tho Core Dinners were not as good as last year. Very relaxing.
We only spent one night here @ Dove Mountain...it is secluded and the amenities and hospitality is everything you'd expect from the Ritz Carlton. You are never left searching for someone to help you, they find you. The beds are comfortable, the bathtub is large enough for two (only thing missing was the bubble bath), towels plentiful, large flat screen, internet access (a little pricey) but all in all a wonderful stay. We had some monsoon activity and it was wonderful enjoying the rain under the balcony as we ate dinner @ Ignite. Wonderful stay!!

Beautiful setting, love the outdoor fire pits at night Nothing to dislike! Perhaps the wait staff in the restaurant can sometimes be too eager to please, checking in a little too often in the dining room, but that's all.
the hotel staff was accommodating and fixed a double booking my kayak. I was very unhappy with the kayak service, their price is no better and calling the hotel directly and I have better room choice with the hotel directly. Kayak screwed up my last name reminding my middle and last name so thatthe hotel could not find my reservation. This led to a double booking and a possible double charge but staff at the hotel had to fix it I love this hotel and we'll stay again I will never use kayak again.
I liked the rooms and surrounding grounds plus the activities for children. Dining is too expensive to eat there. We went elsewhere. The waterslide was not as represented..very small! And the pool slide hours were not suitable for the late hour of check in and early hour of check out. no free waters were given at check in.
We were there for 3 nights over Thanksgiving- second year in a row. We had two dogs- large and small- no problem. Weather was high 70's, lot's of families in the multiple pool areas. Seems to be a good place for families. Ate breakfast there 3 days. Excellent staff and breakfast selections. Great locTion and views. We had a handicapped bathroom. Shower curtain hung out over the rubber water diverted and bath mat and surrounding floor was soaked every morning.
The location is amazing and the view is incredible. Im accustomed to 4 and 5 star hotels and I guess at a certain pracie point you expect a certain level of courtesy and customer service and my experience was the worst I have had at the check in. They didnt have a room ready for me for 3 hours past my attempted check in and did not give any good info, right after requesting a refund to go to another resort I suddenly got a room well past check in time.
The location of this resort is amazing and beautiful. The service and staff were very accommodating and helpful with any and all requests. The pool was clean and refreshing and we found it to be a great place to take young kids. Lots for them to do. The movie in the pool night was a perfect idea! The rooms are a little outdated but still clean. The beds were not very comfortable and probably need to be updated as well.
Excellent service. Friendly and helpful. I really like this property. Very good value and I love the spa too. I was a bit far away from the main property which made it difficult to get to. The streets need to be repaired and had to watch my ankles. I decided to w as lk where the golf cart road which was much easier to walk on.
The Staff, cleanliness and comfort Spa needs updating and improvement on bathroom amenities
When we checked in I was expecting a regular room but instead was pleased to find it was more like a mini suite with a sitiing area and mini bar and a bathroom and vanity area outside of bathroom which was very helpful for two people getting ready at the same time. Very spacious for two people with a beautiful view of the golf course. The pool was very inviting and clean. The grounds were beautiful ! We golfed at the omni's two courses while we stayed. Enjoyed having a cocktail at Legends after a round of golf. Staff was always helpful and courteous. Thoroughly enjoyed our relaxing stay at the Omni!
Out of the way location, great landscaping, staff were great (minus one person at the desk who sadly had the most direct effect on my trip (room selection etc)), the property buildings etc. could be amazing if spruced up/maintained properly, great water pressure, Room was as clean as it should be, VERY Noisy, no truth in advertising (or perhaps it was just terrible customer service from one person). Its like they took all the things they think people want in a resort vacation and focused on that- then ignored the basics i.e. my room had a wine chiller (the size of a mini fridge and useless for me on my trip), but no mini fridge- [standard for all hotels everywhere]. So I called about it and they brought a fridge up and left it on top of the food area (an ugly and lazy solution). The mini coffee pot made the whole room smell a little moldy... the tiles aren't properly grouted so some actually move out of place underfoot (I'm a tiny female!). They 'upgraded' me to a poolside room thats supposed to be more updated? it was loud and unpleasant- all I really wanted was some peace and quiet and maybe if i was lucky a glimpse of the mtns- fail on all accounts.
Staff was amazing. Very attentive and kind I had to stay in a room far away from other people in our group but not really much hotel could do because they were full that weekend.
The room was spacious and well-equipped. Getting to my room was a little difficult, considering 2 rolling pieces of luggage and a laptop bag. As was getting it to my car when I checked out. But I could have asked for help. The bedside light needed to be fixed and the minifridge shelves were damaged. Not a major gripe; but enough so that perfect was not applicable.
The facilities were obviously old and had not been up to date and repaired. There was no refrigerator and microwave. The TV was a fairly small tube type. The lavatory sinks were cracked. The room and surroundingsee needed cleaning, and the pavement was in desperate need of repair.
Very clean, well manicured facilities. The updated rooms were spacious, well designed, and very comfortable. More importantly, the staff friendly, the pool warm and the AC cold. I intend to stay here on my future visits to Tucson. None.
Check in was very efficient. They came out and met me. They expedited checking and after a long day it helped. There was absolutely nothing I did not like about this hotel.
The staff treated us exceptionally well from the moment we pulled up to the moment we left. We used the pool a lot for the kids and it was fantastic! The beds were okay, but for a 4 star hotel the mattresses could've been more plush and comfortable.
Beautiful property against the mountains in Tucson. The kids had a blast at the pool. The walls were thin, I was worried about my small children disturbing others, as I could easily here their conversations. But other than causing me concern there was no disruptions, everyone slept just fine.

The staff was really great- helpful and sweet.
Friendly and accommodating staff, great location, exceptionally maintained property
The service....every member of the staff went above and beyond to meet your needs! It's hard to find that kind of service anymore, so it was much appreciated. Also, the property itself was like a country club..what a treat! We were assigned a handicapped room, but it was still nice.
Location ....beautiful grounds Old ... Extra blanket in closet was terrible old and torn. Unexpectable . You might except that from motel 6 Not a resort in the foothills !!

location it's old not updated smells old not clean it's a 1940s dump
I liked the balcony in my room, the extremely comfortable bed, and the huge shower. The hotel was an interesting layout and the grounds were beautiful. We had to check out very early and the staff made sure we were able to eat for breakfast. I didn't like that there was no way to book through the hotel to get the same rates (or even similar) to what was on Kayak/Hotels.com. I always like to book directly if possible, however the Kayak process worked perfectly.
Lodge on the Desert was a quiet and clean place. Staff were kind and helpful.
Attention to Detail....
The room was nice...quaint...bed was comfy...and the pool was nice. It was a very cute, unique property. The made from scratch margaritas were delicious but the restaurant food was horrible. However, there were plenty of places nearby to eat.
I loved the rooms. They were big with fireplaces to keep you warm during the cold desert nights. The scenery was beautiful. I liked that they had little outdoor patios outside each room in the front. And the pool and restaurant areas were picturesque. Breakfast was also delicious and fairly quick. Server and hostess were very nice. I did not like that the cleaning staff was up and rolling around at 8am on Saturday morning. The paths they have through the lodge are all pebbly, so when the cleaning ladies (like 8-9 of them) rolled out past my.room in the morning at 8am on Saturday morning, they were so loud and clunking and had their cell phones going off. It was very rude and inconsiderate. I told one of the staff to tell the manager that I was unhappy with this and that it could really hurt their business if I wrote a review about it. We did not have this same problem the next morning on Sunday, thank goodness.
Awesome campus, architecture, room size, fireplace, restaurant There was a mixup and they had me booked for 2 nights, not one.
After spending 5 days in a very nice hotel in Scottsdale, We were apprehensive about the potential let down staying somewhere else. We were pleasantly surprised with The Lodge on the Desert. Spacious and very clean comfortable room. Pool could use a bit more attention though - wasn't bad. Nice space but keeping water cleaner would increase the overall experience. Restaurant was convenient, we only stopped in for breakfast. Food was good, wait staff friendly. Hotel location worked out well for our needs. We enjoyed our stay. Front desk clerk needs coaching on customer service. Just a couple issues with housekeeping, but staff was relatively quick to correct.
Room was spacious and comfortable. Plenty of pillows. Water from hot water boiler was not very hot.
Restaurant Family next door with kids screaming at the top of their lungs at 1130 pm
They spent great deAl of money on the place but the quality is just not there. Room is large but Ac is noisy. They have a nice place but wish they went all the way you can see the cost cutting in the showers dacore. Would stay again and felt it was a good value. Toilet seat coming off. Ac was noisy
Very nice building in a shitty area, run by apathetic Native Americans. Staff extremely unwilling or unknowing of alternative activities for families when their security shut down the pool for 8 hours, due to a one hour thunderstorm. If the pool was to be shut down for the night just say so, stop the BS lies of "We might open it later...Keep checking back" The service desk never informed us that there as a fitness facility that families could use, rather she directed us to a strip mall in one of the worst areas of Tucson. The surrounding neighborhood is ghetto and slum-like, on a good day. The morning news mentioned how someone was shot the night we stayed within 1/2 mile of the hotel.
