I was only supposed to stay there for 3 nights, but the place was so warm and cozy and I felt very much at home, so I just kept extending my stay until my last day in Japan. The place was clean and Taka was very polite and helpful. I also had to stay in Kyoto for 2 nights and he was kind enough to allow me to leave my luggage in the girls’ room. :) I loved that I was able to cook my breakfast a few times because use of the kitchen and spices is free. I specially enjoyed my evening bike rides. (You can borrow bikes for FREE) Thanks to Taka for carrying the pink bike up and down the stairs for me. I got lucky with the other guests, too. I met such amazing travellers and learned their incredible stories. We even went on a road trip together! (Shoutout to Thomas, Matteo, IU, Johnny and Caitlyn!)
The nearest train (subway) station was 12 minutes away. (Which to me, was not really that bad. It’s just that there were times when I had long days in the city that I wished the station was a bit closer to the hostel.) Other than that, Ihad an amazing stay in Bonfire Hostel! Cheers!
Great hostel for people travelling alone or in need of a more laid back hostel. Since the hostel is rather small it is rather quiet, but when you travel for a longer time already you might appreciate that just as much as I did. Free oropax if you need. The owner is a really cool guy, who will gladly help you finding your tram schedules or whatever information you need. There is a sufficient kitchen space and free coffee. The lavatories are clean. Best beds I have slept in a while. Smokers can go to the rooftop and there is a cafe underneath the hostel that serves great organic curry.
Unfortunately its not really in the center of Osaka, so taking the subway to like Namba takes like 30 minutes (plus 10-13 minutes walk to the Nishitanabe station) but I think overall thats still okay. Other than that I dont really have anything negative to say.
The owner allowed me early check-in. Small ktchen to cook food. Common area to communicate with other travelers. Spacious roof top to hang cloths after washing. It's equipped with furniture to chill out. Bed curtain kept my privacy. Free coffee, free tea and free ear plugs. Not so expensive dinners nearby. Supermarkets and convenience stores are around the corner.
Nice having our own space. Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooftop was nice to hang out at. Walk from train station is fine.
Not too many options for dinner nearby.
Staff were incredibly friendly. Beds were comfortable.
Location was a bit difficult to get to fresh off the plane
