5.5 Okay
Pros: Facilities, new hotel , but disappointed.
Cons: The air conditioning noise was terrible and caused disturbance throughout the night, it was so industrial. Additionally had to turn off the ceiling fan because its integral light would turn itself on and illuminate the room after a few minutes. Unfortunately we had the worst nights sleep of our entire road trip. It was not a cheap room this stay was not good value for money.

Pros: We ended up getting placed in one of the corner rooms and couldn't have been happier! The property in general was beautiful. Extremely clean and polished. The room accommodations were nothing far from in comparison to the lobby. The FULL kitchen (minus the oven) blew me away. A full refrigerator, dish washer, stove top & microwave! All appliances were stainless steel and also included pots & pans as well as utensils and cutlery! The bathroom was also extremely spacious and spotless! The complimentary breakfast was limited but still really good. Over all this property really exceeded my expectations. I will absolutely be coming back!

Pros: The location was awesome! 3 minute walk to the beach...10 minutes walk to local restaurant and small grocery store. The room was very clean, bed was comfortable, kitchen was small but usable, enough dishes, pots and pans provided for anything a person might like to cook. Beach chairs and towels were provided free of charge . There were grills all around.
Cons: There were a few pools that we could use..they were small and though some people may think I'm an old grinch ...honestly they were packed from early morning to late at night with screaming children. We were looking for peace and quiet. We did spend our days (2) at the beach but would have enjoyed the pool also if not for that reason.

Cons: The only things that could be improved on, in my opinion, was the mattress; for me it was too hard. Also, they did nothing to clean the beach of seaweed that built up during the last four days we were there. It was smelly and attracted flies. I was told that was the responsibility of the county.

Cons: Minor stuff like the dvd player, which we never got to work and the rather oldie dishwasher. The private beach belonging to the resort is far from being the best one along the key, but the public one (stunning) is only 200 meter apart.

Pros: Cleanliness, great pool, and all the women that work here are absolutely wonderful friendly and nice as can be
Cons: Everything was wonderful except 2 things The man that did the breakfast he was the only man I seen all week so shouldn't be hard to figure out who it was, was not friendly at all he acted as if he was miserable rolling his eyes huffing and puffing at my son because he accidentally spilt milk and was nasty the whole week it was to the point we all said leaving the rooms (3) oh man let's hope hes not here today made us feel uncomfortable. 2nd thing is they went up on the prices on us all week we had been paying $1 for the pops and laundry soap and I guess we were buying to much because on day 4 of 8 we went down to buy the usual and everything that was $1 was now $2 which was mindblowing

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was clean and the room had many of the items we needed to help make our stay complete.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Liked cleanliness associated with new hotel. Modern decor was a bonus. Very functional, basic studio rooms. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Compensated for drab location near the airport. Breakfast was adequate. Very pleasant hotel.
Cons: Don't like fact that it is dog-friendly. All properties that take in dogs eventually deteriorate. There should be only a limited number of pet friendly rooms, and they should all be on the first floor, so they don't have to share the elevator with guests. Bathroom knick-knacks such as body lotion and conditioner were not provided for some reason. Since you automatically assume they will have these items, it is disconcerting to discover they don't provide these after you check in and it's too late to go out and purchase your own.

Pros: Everything
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room
Cons: No
6.0 Good
Pros: I love this hotel. But they let me down this trip.
Cons: The bed linen was soiled. I removed it for housekeeping to change. Instead, they re-made the bed with the same spoiled linen. The room wasn't made one day, I went down to the front desk, and they told me all of the housekeepers had gone home.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: It was overall a good value.
Cons: No, I thought it was overall good.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean
Cons: No microwave..no free breakfast...lawnmowers start at 7am...
7.0 Good
Pros: In previous stays the breakfast was excellent, they had omelets, sausage and bacon that was not the typical limp greasy mess most hotels serve. Now they have decided to charge $15 extra on room rate. It is amazing how stupid greedy some management can be.
Cons: I was disappointed when I arrived there was no one at the desk, no bell, no sign, I went through all the offices, I went to the restroom, I started reading the newspaper, some guests walked by and helped look around, after several minutes one lady arrived to check me in. I noticed the hotel smelled different. It use to have a pleasant fragrance in the corridors and rooms, but not anymore. Around 7:30 I went to turn on TV. It did not respond. I called the front desk several times and got no answer. I waited a while and tried one more time. A well meaning employee was sent up. 5O FRUSTRATING minutes later we got it turned on. I did not say anything at checout, but was thinking, I won't be back.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Good choice for those exercise oriented.
Cons: You'll hear everybody else moving about day and night.
5.5 Okay
Pros: The staff at the front desk were friendly.
Cons: The first room we were in the light in the shower was blinking and making noise, the bathroom floor looked dirty, the mood lights did not work. We were moved to the room next door and the bathroom floors still looked dirty. Staff said they were installed wrong and that’s the way they look. Our first experience with housekeeping was terrible. We arrived back to the room and the beds looked as tho the covers were pulled up. Very lumpy and uneven. Rooms are very small. No dresser Our card keys to get in the room did not always work. Front desk didvteplace with no problem. But that should not happen as often as it did. Pool was nice. However they never cleaned up around it. We went there 3 days in a row and people’s wet towels were still there on the lounge chairs from day one. Out front people had left glasses overnight and they were not cleaned up most of the next day I could go on and on but I think you get the point. I would not stay there again
4.5 Okay
Pros: The soft ice
Cons: Very nasty HAIR everywhere if I could upload photos here I would ROOM WASNT CLEAN hair was from the bathroom to the window ceil in the bedroom I spoke to the front desk she replied I needed to speak to the manager the next day but there’s NO MANAGER ON DUTY until Monday

Pros: We love the location, it’s close to shopping and dining. Property is pretty.
Cons: Nothing
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: They had no microwave in the rooms.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: this is a unique experience. A lot of thought and money has went into this experience. On the elevator I said to some other passengers that I had never been in a hotel like this. They were in agreement and laughed.
Cons: I have no issues.

Pros: Close to Siesta Key beach. Close to shopping. Great location.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lay out, very clean room, staff are great and friendly.
6.3 Good
Pros: OK for a one night stay
Cons: Breakfast was included, but consisted only of a few muffins or donuts and some serial with coffee or juice from a machine. The name Comfort Suites makes it sound better than it actually is.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was surprisingly good, and plentiful. I came family (7) , we enjoyed the pool and the Jacuzzi, the room very accomadating for our group. I would stay again.
Cons: Not at this time.
2.5 Mediocre
Pros: Leaving
Cons: Sheets were not changed. Blood on the pillow case. Desk person challenged my claim, never apologized and allowed ME to change my own bedding upon arrival. No remorse. Handle on tub pulled out of the wall. Cushions on sofa were ripped and torn on the bottom edge. Assistant manager was patronizing and no help, kept defending the cleaning staff repeating they have a zero tolerance for no sheet changing. If you have a policy...you've had a problem. Knowing the cleaning staff knew I made a complaint I was uncomfortable having anyone in my room. They did respect this request, but did it more as a relief of not having to do the work. Pop machine remained out of order the entire time. Manager called and was considerably better. Credited me my first night and said I could break my agreement for five night reservation, but this was a work trip and I didn't have the time or desire to find another place. I have trusted comfort inn in the past. No longer.

9.0 Excellent (201 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Hotel Ranola in Sarasota (Central Sarasota), you'll be within a 5-minute drive of Marie Selby Botanical Gardens and Sarasota Memorial Hospital. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services and a 24-hour front desk. Free self parking is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I always love staying here. The location is great, within a mile walk to the places I need.
Cons: I did have palm trees knocking on my window during the storm and breezy nights.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Hotel Ranola is very conveniently located within walking distance of many downtown Sarasota shops and restaurants and provides parking. The rooms have a personality as does the building which dates back to 1926. Pedro was very helpful (including printing out my airline boarding pass before I left). The bed was solid and quite comfortable. It was not noisy, either street noise or other guests.
Cons: I had some problems connecting to the wireless Internet at first, but Pedro helped. The room has a window air-conditioner unit that blows a stream of cold air. But it's Florida in May and the A/C will have to work hard to keep things cool and it managed, so that's minor.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Quaint historic hotel, wonderfully decorated, walking distance to great restaurants and bars and comedy club.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location, Parking, All of the staff very friendly. You have a kitchen and the Internet is really fast and stable.
Cons: The air conditioning very loud - hard to sleep

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Not good light for reading but overall experience was s nice that I’ll come again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the motif! Took us back to days past,
Cons: Nothing really
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I like the cleanliness of the room, the friendly staff and the location.
Cons: Some of the communication.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Room was huge and the Keurig coffee maker with complimentary coffee and bottles of water were a nice touch. Loved reading about the history of the hotel on the lobby walls and finding hidden stacks of books throughout our room and the halls.
Cons: The hotel advertises a rooftop patio but access was blocked off with an employees only sign. The bath towels were a little small but that’s understandable, also there were little black ants crawling around in the bathtub but that problem was solved by turning the water on and flushing them down the drain. Honestly, it was an amazing hotel and we can’t wait to stay there again.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was practically empty. I think we were the only guests that night. Reception closed, got key in lockbox, which was ok. Older building, so AC was a window unit. Otherwise, the owners have worked hard to create a "boutique-style" hotel with artwork, fresh paint, updated decor, etc. Best part was the full kitchen and small eating area. Would definitely consider staying there again.
Cons: Halls seem a little "worn" but ok.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very quiet and clean
Cons: I had no issues. I would stay there again
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and Comfortable, breakfast was also good, we had a voucher, but for three people it would have cost around 50 dollers
Cons: Generally excellent, albeit air con was noisy in room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was wonderful. The bar staff was great especially Jacob. When checking in Nick was ok and was to make note of my husband arriving later in the week to join me for personal time after work obligations. I requested it be noted and we get the same room all we. We got the same room but when my husband arrived there was no mention of my husbands arrival and they had to call me for permission to allow him access to the room. That was disappointing. Otherwise the staff was great and housekeeping was also great and super friendly. We would stay there again.
Cons: Our supper in the restaurant. The soup desserts and drinks weee good but the main meal was not great.

Pros: Restaurant staff were the consummate professionals—very attentive and accommodating; especially Rose.
Cons: Pillows could have been thicker. Housekeeping didn’t replace coffee a and cups. Had to call front desk.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The front desk staff was excellent and friendly. They helped us problem solve and went above and beyond to accommodate us. Also, the bed was very comfortable!
Cons: The restaurant was awful. Not only was service slow the order had cheese on it, when we specifically requested not to have cheese due to allergies. Also the shuttle service was difficult to coordinate with however, the valet and driver were pleasant people
7.0 Good
Pros: The hotel what's pretty nice. Sadly the roof bar and pool what's close because of the rain .so I couldn't even enjoy going over there and that was one of the main purpose we chose this hotel.
Cons: I did not like that the bottle of Waters in the room had to me pay for if used I don't think they should be charging water for their guests for the money you pay to stay in the hotel. It's a little cheap of them and they don't even have shower caps.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Employees friendly Room clean Get shuttle service around the area Great location
Cons: Valet parking fee high Even though coffee maker in the room, It would be nice if they had free coffee Set-up in the lobby Rooftop furniture could be updated
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very clean room, good quiet AC, good shower, very friendly staff -- all that I would expect for 4 stars.
Cons: There are very few things to do within walking distance. Doing anything else means taking a car, which require waiting on valets to bring it down, even though they are very fast.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: the food on the roof top was just ok. the guacomole was sour and in little plastic containers. The wings were overdone. The staff was excellent.

Cons: Needed a soap dish or a shelf in shower for soap. Also a fan in bathroom.
7.5 Good
Pros: Very good Breakfast and plentiful.
Cons: Did not like the $25 parking fee per Day.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location and great service. Recommend you order a Lemon Drop Martini from the lovely bartender Jamie.
Cons: We had a view of a construction site, not the hotel fault that a new hotel is in the middle of being built but recommend you ask for a room with a different view until construction is complete.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The pool
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Free evening reception and breakfast selections make the Embassy Suites a great choice. The Sarasota location is fairly new and we stayed on the 17th floor with a Bay view- it was very nice.
Cons: elevators slow and I understand the service elevator was out of order so the many delivery and service people using the guest elevators didn't help the situation.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: NEW HOTEL, CLEAN, STAFF FRIENDLY
Cons: ELEVATORS ARE THE WORST, BREAKFAST COULD HAVE BEEN DIFFERENT EACH DAY. THE SAME THING OVER AND OVER CAN GET BORING.
7.0 Good
Pros: The place was clean , and great view
Cons: Valet parking was not so great , if a young parking aid tells there supervisor that a vehicle is stick shift and don’t know how to drive a stick shift , he or she should not drive it , but the supervisor says that was OK ,you have to learn , they should not teach on consumer vehicles , you would think hotel with high standards should know better , I don’t recommend someone with a stick shift vehicle ( beware )
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Super clean, spacious rooms, convenient and breakfast was very good
Cons: Dinner at the restaurant

The room with 2 Q-sized beds was spacious for a family of 3. The mattress was supportive and very comfortable. The front desk staff members were professional, knowledgeable, and efficient. They made us feel like family, recommended activities in the area, provided us with coupons to area food chains, and were always ready to assist. The free breakfast offered at the hotel daily was fantastic! Free fruit, hot and cold beverages available 24 hrs. The breakfast attendants were wonderful! They were prompt to replenish low food items, to clean up spills, assist customers, and kept the cafe spotless! They had a self-instructed waffle maker area that was a hit with my family! My teenage son was thrilled to be able to make hot, fluffy, and perfect waffles during our stay.
