Staff are very good
this was the best hotel i've ever stayed at. i had my 10 year old grandson and lots of games to play right there. great place!!!!!!!!!!!! very nice halloween displays. loved it all!!!!!!!
Location, size of room, friendly staff carpet was stained in multiple spots, floor felt greasy
It is easy access to the beach and close to where my son lives.
We cooked, our room was a good space near ammenities, the staff was helpful with all our questions. We had a great stay in San Clemente - take advantage of the beach trail!
No ocean views
Good value. Nice sized room. Wish we could have stayed longer to check out the rest of the facilities!
Old, tired facility. Ants and waterbugs in bedroom. Rude front desk staff. Limited "business center". Pathetic restaurant. $3.50 for a cup of coffee!
Convient to my son'e house. none
Close to beach. On site restaurant had good breakfast menu, reasonable prices. Noise from interstate. Noise from neighboring rooms came through walls.
Closeness to the beach! Housekeeping was good. Pool area is nice too! Rooms are comfy. Location of the Inn is bueno!! Rooms are a drab brown lol. Two years in a row been construction...it's not an inconvenience, just not pleasing to the eye ha.
Enjoyed the affordability and the spacious area! Came fully loaded with a kitchen, living room and bedroom has private doors
Nice pool, awesome bed, enjoyed my stay! Couldn't take a bath because it was always draining the water :(
The rooms are clean, and the staff was terrific. The front desk staff and the house cleaning staff were outstanding. A little hard to find. A bigger sign near the road would be helpful.
Close to Camp Pendleton. My son is a Marine! Close to freeways Clean hotel Continental breakfast was good
The room was very comfortable and clean. Nice breakfast. We forgot some shoes in the closet on a Thursday. I called the next day to ask if they had been found and they said they did not have them. We had to go that way on Friday and stopped in to ask again. Front desk clerk remembered my call and claimed they were still missing. We asked to talk to housekeeping and she found the shoes for us. Don't give up after one call if you forget something. Also, while they claim to be pet friendly, there is no grassy area for them.
From check-in to check-out this Holiday Inn exceeded my expectations of what I would expect in a hotel. Guri (excuse the misspelling) at the front desk made my check in process and my stay a 5 star experience. Ian on the Night Audit made the evenings and early mornings exceptionally outstanding and comforting. I will always look recommend and stay at this location after this experience. Thank you all for making my stay so enjoyable. The location is a bit strange and off the map. But once located, it is easy to find. One recommendation I would make is to communicate when guests have a late checkout. On several occasions I had a 2pm checkout which was approved and verified with management but yet the house keepers walked in at 11:00-1:00pm. Communication is key in situations such as these.
I loved the free breakfast - so many tasty options! I also loved that the bath products are Bath & Body Works. The whole place was very clean and quiet; I really loved staying there. There isn't a ton of lighting in the bathroom, so it's a little dark while showering. It's not a problem at all but that's my one minor complaint about the room.
Staff was very helpful, rooms were very clean, excellent breakfast included. Also liked having refrigerator/coffee/microwave in room. Even though right next to the highway, we did not hear traffic noise or any noise from other rooms.
The price was nice, I liked that they had a light breakfast but this is about it. 1st the 2 beds in our room were so hard we didn't get any sleep. I couldn't wait to get home so I could finally sleep. The beds felt as hard as the table in our room. 2nd the air conditioning in our room was out. I was told because it was humid that day that is why the air conditioner was broken. I was so close to driving home that night we stayed. We drove over an hour to stay here and the other 3 ladies with me didn't want to get in the car and drive home Saturday night. When I asked the front desk about the air conditioner and the bed she pretty much said "oh well". In my mind she made me feel like well I got your money and you can leave if you want. I would not recommend anyone to stay here.
The pool was really nice. Rooms are not modern. They overbooked on our class of room so we had to go with an "upgrade". It was a two queen room with a gross jetted tub. We would prefer a king with our infant.
The location is good. The breakfast is good, a lot to chose from. My second day there however, they closed the door 4 mins early and all I wanted was a banana but couldn't get one. One of the beds in the room had crumbs when I pulled the the comforter back. The temp is locked so I was cold the whole stay since I couldn't get the heat going. Parking is really limited. I was there for business and checked out at 9:30 am. I left the city at 7pm. Got home and realized I left my keys there. The staff had them yet never attempted to get a hold of me to let me know. That's pretty bad customer service. So I get drive 2 hours each way to go pick them up.
Clean room at a good price. Breakfast exceeded expectations!
Really not much to dislike. It was quite, comfortable, close to everything and reasonably priced for the areas. The only issue was the jetted tub did not work or hold water the best, which was really a minor nitpick, otherwise it was great.
Location Extra daily resort fee. No slippers or free bottled water for Marriott member. Valet parking not answering phone. Only valet parking available. Bathroom cabinetry old and worn out. Poor water pressure for shower.
I have religiously stayed at this Laguna Cliff Marriott for close to 20 years . But on several occasions , this last trip was the worst , where your check out experience ruins the wonderful memories of the entire stay . Most customers would never come back , but the reason I keep coming back only to encounter check out nightmares . For instance . I book my room there through Kyyack who send my reservation and payment on to Expedia , who email me my confirmation number and itenerary for my 2 nights. Because of a flight councilation by AA.com I am forced to just move my 2 nights forward 1 day and notify both Expedia and the Laguna Cliff's , and they both confirm no problem no change in rates . So at check out my $159.00 all inclusive rate per night had changed a little less than $900 including my payment to Expedia for one night , and because the airlines had lost my luggage and my money and medicines and all my clothes I didn't have sufficient funds to pay the inflated rate and refused to allow me to pay by check even with my bank president on the phone garrateeing available funds . So I had told the manager I had $300 in cash for an emergency , to which she said use your emergency cash or don't leave the property . So I left with $25 dollars to get to San Jose to meet with Ebay and then back to LA for my flight home . I was able to sell my $1200 iPhone for $550 to enable me to have a place to sleep the next night , and in Silicon Valley $550 doesn't get you much of a room . AA.com still has not found my luggage with my billfold medicine , keep in mind I was just recovering for 2 complete hip replacements . So with no money to drive back to LA to turn my car into Hertz and fly home , I was forced to turn my car into Hertz at the San Francisco International Airport which changed my Hotwire rate of $10.95 per day for 6 days into an $895 dollar charge that included the payment I had already paid Hotwire for the entire week . Finally at AA.com's counter I explain I have no options , no money to drive back to LA to fly home and that I pleaded with her to change my ticket at no charge to fly back from San Francisco to home and she reluctantly agreed but only if I took the red eye . I explained I had not eating almost 2 days , she said do you want this deal take it or get out of my line and contact AA.com/Customer Relationships . Next
Thank you to Nicole at the front desk. Awesome Babymoon.
Very comfortable bed and bedding. Bed and view of the harbor.
It's a beautiful hotel perfect for weddings and events. I was very happy with the upgrade to an executive suite. It's a first come first serve policy for free 2 hour bike rentals but I wish they had more than two smaller bikes out of the several bikes they had.
Location Resort fee. Valet parking not answering phone. No alternative for overnight parking besides valet of $37/night. No free bottled water for Marriott silver member, nor included in resort fee. No refrigerator. No slippers.
The location was nice. Don't book this room thinking you will be getting the price you see. It will be about $100 more a night than the listed price. There is an extra fee for everything. I am just waiting for the 2 weeks after checkout fee because I am sure it's coming.
Beautiful view, great amenities. Mattress not as comfortable as you'd expect from a resort of this caliber.
I enjoyed the hotel because the location is spectacular and dana harbor is nearby. This is a great weekend getaway because of the numerous shops and restaurants as well as activities that people could enjoy! I love the options of renting kayaks, paddle boats and paddle boarding. People can even go whale watching. I wishes the pools were open later, at least till 10:00 pm ( to swim ). I also wish the trees in the park didn't block the view of the harbor, but I suspect that's a city thing. I just remember about 10 years ago a friend of mine married at the hotel. I remembered the spectacular view of the boats sailing in the background . The trees from lantern park block the view now.
I like a customer service. Great service. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! We will come back. N/A
The entire hotel staff knew my name from the moment I walked in the door. Everyone was friendly and everything from the food to the room was excellent. I enjoyed the pool and the room was big and spacious but comforting and welcoming at the same time. I'll definately stay again.
Absolutely the best! Best in location, features, staff and food. Nothing can compare!
I went with two girlfriends and the hotel was all we could ask for and more. Our room had an amazing ocean view with huge fluffy beds and a large flat screen tv. Both pools were very nice as well as the jacuzzis. The restaurant was good but pretty pricey. I would stay here again!
What a beautiful hotel! The views are breathtaking! The staff was amazing, very accommodating, and highly service oriented. The flowers that greet you in the lobby were innovative arrangements, beautiful to view, and lovely to smell. Our room was so clean, and all of the essentials were there. The bathroom was highly functional for 2 -- separate room with toilet, and double sink so that 2 can get ready at the same time. I loved our balcony, and used it every day to read a book, or enjoy the view. The restaurants were fabulous -- they have thought of everything. The outdoor restaurant was my favorite. If you forget your sunglasses while the sun is setting, they have extras. If it is chilly once the sun goes down, they have blankets. There is just one change that I would request in our room, perhaps others. The air conditioner was probably the noisiest that I've ever heard -- each time it 'kicked on' it would wake us all through the night. There must be quieter technology available, and something to consider if there was ever a renovation. I can't wait to go back there!!!
This hotel caters to their guest needs, whatever they can do to make your stay fantastic, they will do it. No matter what time it is, they will accomodate! Their rooms are clean, their bed and pillows are comfortable. When they turn down your bed at night, you feel more like home.
Came here for a weekend getaway with my lady. From the moment we arrived we were very impressed with everything. Location is beautiful - hotel sits on a cliff overlooking the Pacific. We just relaxed and enjoyed our time in the Laguna area. Treat yourself...stay at the Ritz.
I had been looking for a hotel in which we could stay for a long weekend. This was one of 2 hotels recommended by a family member, and we couldn't have been happier with our stay. The staff was very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Our favorite spot was the outdoor patio/bar which we enjoyed the beautiful weather and views.
We have stayed many times at the Ritz Laguna, but since undergoing a complete renovation its truly spectacular. The ocean views are to die for.
Staff @ Ritz LN are amazing-anything you wish at anytime can be yours. Club level (hob-nob w/the rich & famous) is worth every penny! Stayed at a few other RC properties & this one is by far my fav-not as stuffy as other Ritz-mix high class w/CA beach culture. Gorgeous spa; great products and a knowledgeable staff. Highly recommend wine flights at Eno for a fun time-avoid chocolate flights (rip-off) but the cheese & olive flights are great! Heading back for a week(yes, loved it that much;o) Bottom line-you will come back giddy as a school boy(or girl)!
We really enjoyed our stay there. They went out of their way to make sure that our room was everything that we wanted. The service was incredible, always so warm and welcoming. We will definitely be going back for a longer stay.
Free breakfast & coffee Physically, the building looked worn
We had a nice stay here. It was clean and we were very pleased.
We were grateful that we were given a room which was convenient to our RV that we parked in the hotel parking lot.
Just off the highway ... Elevator very slow ... traffic noise all night ...
I thought the hotel was excellent and will stay there again when I am in that area
Beautiful hotel. Nicely renovated. Service was ok. Miss the service touches from the St. Regis. Seemed understaffed at front desk. Breakfast at Aveo restaurant overpriced and ok, not wow. Was offered a 'flash sale' upgrade at check in which felt awkward for a luxury hotel.
I liked the Jacuzzi tub, and that's... IT!!! I wouldn't stay here again if they paid me... Well, maybe if they paid me $20.00 and hour to stay for a night. This place sucks. It's next to the freeway so there's no relief to the droning on of tires on road... The staff was less than helpful, I had to practically yell at the guy to do his job which he was very inept at doing. As twenty minutes into the yelling process I finally got the room we booked, and we enjoyed what was left of our evening... But the bed, sheets, and pillows came from Wal-Mart or Big Lots which is not the $260/night quality I expected. I expect that of about $100/night hotel. This place has ZERO value. Go here if you like burning your money.
The young man at the front desk was courteous and diligent. He had a wonderful welcoming smile. He also came to the room to fix the TV which had no reception. The location is right off the freeway so easy access to beach and campground or any amenities There was an odd odor everywhere. Damp. Tiny bathroom and tub. AC was so loud. It took over an hour to get the tV fixed. To be fair it was very busy at the front desk but he was working by himself.
The Holiday Inn has everything someone needs for a quick weekend trip. Poo/jacuzzi, big rooms, friendly staff, and the location is perfect for walking into downtown San Clemente.
Has agreat location and the staff is very friendly. Very Noisy, We could hear our neighbors on the room above us walking until 3 am and then at 6.30 or 7 people going down the hallway, you can hearing them talk like they are inside the room. Badly isolated walls.
The location was central to San Clemente allowing me to walk to places for dinner and drinks. The manager (Lucky) was friendly and helpful given the circumstances. The room was fine for a 2* hotel; actually somehow I had a two-bedroom unit for some unknown reason. I had a reservation for two nights booked months in advance. However, the property was overbooked and only honored one night of my reservation, without explanation or advance notice. The on-site manager wasn't in the loop with the remote owners (unreachable) on the situation. I had to scramble to find another place to stay the next night.
The staff was friendly "lucky" was great to work with. He even offered a 2 bedroom for 15$ extra. The place isnt made for kids. If you want a place to sleep with a shower for a cheap price. Stay here. I'd stay again. They adder soaps and stuff but is bring my own
The manager lady was really nice & helpful.
When the word "boutique" is in the name, there's your 'tip off'. This is an older motel property that someone sweetly tried to 'gussy up', many years ago. A fair value for the price, though. The reservationist, (only staff), was very friendly, and helpful. I had to ask for a washcloth, and the TP roll hadn't been refilled.
Comfy bed, location close to our son's apartment. No air. No hairdryer. Coffeepot but no coffee grounds or anything else to make coffee with. Refrigerator made strange noises. A lot of outside party noise. Microwave turntable was broken. Worst of all, dirty floor and funky smelling bathroom. We were assured someone would clean the room. Came back late, no clean up, not even the bed was made. Then found out the next day that there was no maid service whatsoever.
My husband and I arrived on the train in San Clemente and walked up to the B and B! Frieda was not home, but gave us the code to get in and was so sorry she was not there to greet us! She volunteers with the senior center and was with them! I love that lady! We got into the house and our room was lovely! The house was so cool, full of treasures from friedas travels! Again, I just adored her! We are vegetarian and she made us special breakfasts! She is an amazing cook! We stayed two days and had an amazing time! The b and b provides, beach towels, chairs, coolers, boogie boards, water bottles, and whatever we needed! Such a great stay!
Breakfast is included. Beds are good enough. Almost no water pressure in the shower.... seriously, it's awful. The room smelled like they just spray Febreeze all over the place instead of opening the window every once in a while. The breakfast food was mostly good enough, but nacho cheese inside of an omelette? Such a gross surprise. I was also unplesantly surprised to see that i had to pay $10 a night to park in super tiny spaces.
Noise from street
How clean the rooms were & the value for the money
This location was near the Casino which were visiting. I don't know if it is Kayak or the Days Inn, but we were placed in what may have been the worse room in the building, when the most of the rooms in the hotel were available. Interior Decoration was maybe what you would expect at this price point, but its still pretty bad. Though it didn't bother me too much, we discovered a dead roach in our bathroom the next morning.
Good location NEVER expected to be given a smoking room without ever giving consent. Gross.
I got what I paid for.
Close to the event I was attending. Has a baseball field across the street great since my team was in town for a baseball tournament. A little noisy, Room a had a light smell of smoke even though it was a non smoking room, Parking is tight,
Usually we stay at Best Western. Now I know why. When we got there we had a cold shower. The manager said he would check the water heater. Woke up the next day and still a cold shower. We had to leave a day early,(not their fault), but they wouldn't reduce the cost one iota. A reason I stay at BEST Western. Don't recommend this place.
For a last minute solution to our travel needs this place was perfect. We were very impressed with how clean everything was - from the stairwells to the room. Although the hotel is older, it was perfect for our needs. The service was great and hassle free... I am always turned off by food odor in the front desk area of hotels. Although I am a big fan of the kitchen - I dont want to smell that when I check in to a hotel. The soap and shampoo were the lowest quality but thats expected - change that and exceed expectations?
It was convenience, that's why I stayed here. Again, the staff was very rude upon checking in.
As noted online, it was very close to Camp Pendleton where we were visiting family.
location was good to restaurants and beach. Room was very clean. Parking was horrible for a pick up truck or anything bigger than a honda type vehicle Bed was small and uncomfortable
It was only overnight but was comfortable and clean. No coffee making facilities.
It was reasonably priced and near to our daughters home.
It was cute and the location was great for walking to the beach and to the shops
Location was good. Two blocks away from the main area. The place is old and the carpet is a bit gross. We can hear men yelling outside our room. I would stay here if I was literally just passing by... And needed a place to rest my eyes.
Front desk was fine. Very friendly. But they had a problem giving a room. Cleaning guys out side. Very rude and make me uncomfortable. They were not friendly and unwelcoming .
location for my needs in this trip to Orange County Indifference of staff to several issues. The lights in the hallway to my room were burned out, making for a dark walk to the room. The light over the shower in the bathroom was also burned out. Nothing was done about either issue. No extra signage to aid in entering the property due to road construction. It was very difficult to figure out how to get to the motel from the road.
I loved the spacious room and the clean bathroom. The flat screen tv was a nice touch too No complaints
Not much left at 9:30am, came back at 1:30, room not touched. Left at 2:00 pm returned at midnite, still dirty I'll never stay there again!!!! House keeping sucked.
This hotel has a good location. The side away from the freeway was quiet. Imagine that the side facing the freeway would be noisy. This hotel is difficult to get to because of road construction. That's not the hotel's fault. My room had several drawbacks that would have been easy to fix. I told staff about them, but nobody seemed to care: 1) The computer desk was useless because it had no available electrical outlets. How difficult would it have been to put in a lamp with an electrical outlet in the base? 2) The A/C unit was old, noisy, and difficult to control. It blew out the curtains above it. How difficult would it have been to put in a modern thermostat, and a plastic deflector to keep the curtains in place? 3) The microwave was impossible to use on any setting other than full power. 4) The message light on my phone blinked constantly. How difficult would it have been to supply instructions for how to turn it off?
The location and proximity to the beach and downtown are great. I enjoyed the 3rd floor since you can actually see the pacific from the terrace. The room was spacious and the elevator was an unexpected surprise. Parking was not as bad as it has been made out to be. Attractive room with a good setup. The room could have been checked more thoroughly. Found some not so pleasant spots and stains, that would otherwise go unnoticed but I'm kind of a stickler for cleanliness. With that said being that I had a wedding to attend I was not about to play the "give me another room or renegotiate the price or refund me my money" game. TV was acting up, remote wasn't fictional, DVD player was inoperable (and not properly connected). It's a good thing I spent my time getting ready, sleeping and packing to check out otherwise this review might have been longer. OH and I thought the price was a little high, but with the holiday weekend and location I can see why It came to be so much... Not pleased, but I understand.
It was clean. Staff was nice NO PARKING..It was limited and to tight.. 2 dents in my new car door. I think it was high priced for listening to the freeway all night. need blinds. The outside is lite up for safety but to bright to sleep.
Nothing at all Staff was horrible especially the blonde witch
