Easy to book, nice hotel, fantastic staff (Eric Gorman really mad us enjoy ourself) Our room looked a little tired and shabby (but was very clean), water poured out of shower
The staff and accommodation was just very very good, we were very well looked after, even though we missed breakfast they just charged slightly more for all us to have brunch. Which was first class. Will stay there again for sure. Just one point the charge on the room was taken from the credit card, even though the booking was based on paying on departure.
I enjoyed my stay in the Hotel Asteria and wouldn't hesitate to return there. The staff were efficient, friendly and very helpful and spoke excellent English. The location was excellent and the hotel itself was nice and modern and set in beautiful grounds with plenty parking space. The restuarant was very good but expensive for us Brits at the moment with the week pound. Although not many hot items to choose from in the breakfast buffet i.e. boiled eggs, scrambled egg and streaky bacon(where is the lovely Dutch back bacon!) there was fresh rolls, toast, cold meats, cheese, cereals, etc. everything you would find in a "Continental" breakfast. Two small things (1) the towels were too small and (2) No tea and coffee facilities in the rooms.
Nice location Too noisy - loud music, party somewhere
Good hotel at low price
Comfortable beds, should have had tea, coffee and ironing facilities in room. Evening food a little pricey. Ok for a business trip stay..not for holiday stop. No facility for heavy luggage, we had a our 1 year old with us and lots to take to the room with no help from annyone..had to borrow a food trolly and make 2 trips. Coming from the UK expected a large double bed, but had two singles..
Quiet, convenient location, excellent breakfast, good decor, comfortable room. staff helpful. smoking in public areas unpleasant.
Thank`s for staf very frendly
They gave me a bottle of water when I went away, very nice touch! the rooms were a little bit noisy, I heard everything my neighbours were doing
Reception accommodated our late arrival, after their 11 pm closing. There is a church clock tower that chimes every half hour and then rings 100 plus times early in the morning. Very disruptive when we are not use to such a noise. Did not sleep well at this hotel. Would recommend the hotel for excellent location to the shopping and restaurants and friendly reception service, but not if you want a restful, quiet sleep (due to the church clock).
Friendlyness of the staff The church tower next to the hotel was loud
The rooms were very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Clean and comfortable and close to ammanities
The staff was friendly, room nice, location good. The breakfast was poor and coffe terrible.
A very well kept secret, the Klooster is stark yet beautiful. Why does anyone stay at a modern roadside inn when this place is just off the main road? The staff is very helpful.
They had retained the feel of the cloisters with minimal furnishings no
I liked the atmosphere of the hotel, the polite staff, the good breakfast and service.
The staff is very helpful. For example, we had to leave before six in the morning (before regular breakfast starts), but the staff prepared us a breakfast package and made us some coffee. Also, it is possible to have a good dinner at the restaurant. There were only 2 things that could use some improvement: (1) the beds are quite narrow and (2) there is no air conditioning.
Beautiful old monastery converted into a friendly hotel with a luxurious feeling. The staff is fantastic, extremely serviceminded. The restaurant is outstanding and worth the trip (or a long detour)
Very nice restaurant, you can also watch chefs prepare your food on screens (discreetely done, I liked it) For the price of a four course menu, wine and bed for the night I thought it was good value Was a former convent - I found the single bed very narrow. I am not large but I am sure a larger person would not find it comfortable. The hotel advertises that it is near the train station - however people arriving by train would not have a car to travel to other venues. The hotel relies on a local taxi service which is often not available (busy with other contract work) and yet had not made provision for other local transport. I was told that buses were not really an option either and I just had to hope that the local taxi service would be able to help out at the times I was asking.
nice hotel, calm, friendly staff, the restaurant is closed after 8pm
We loved the uniqueness of this hotel because it has maintained the look, feel & peacefulness of the former cloister. Very friendly & accommodating staff. Wonderful breakfast buffet in a beautiful room. Bed was a little too soft.
They have created a beautiful and modern Hotel, while respecting the setting and heritage of this old convent. Great for families, spiritual retreat, relaxing weekend and a stop-off on the way to Weeze airport. There was a bad smell in the bathroom, it came from the shower, but after running the water and opening the window it was gone.
the spirit of the monastery is very well kept alive, there are a lot of nice little details, yet it is comfortable! unfortunately the restaurant was already fully booked for the evening, and boxmeer doesn't really have much else to offer ..
The rooms were very spacious, with separate toilet and bathroom. Staff was friendly. Diner was great.
Very freindly and helpful staff. Nice location in the square with tables in the square. Just need a handle on the shower doo in room 1
The flexiblity and helpfulness of the owners/staff and the attention to detail with meals/table decorations etc. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Not applicable
I would rate this hotel as a 4+ star establishment. Although it does not have the amenities of a big chain hotel, it is charming and clean, and the staff goes out of their way to be helpful and cheerful. The food in their restaurant is outstanding! No, nothing. It was a very pleasurable experience. If I return to the Netherlands, I will stay here again. I got brochures from them and showed them to my colleagues.
Cleanliness of the hotel was excellent and the staff were very friendly. I also liked the beautiful garden and the possibility of eating outdoors if weather permits. Wine was a bit too expensive
Fantastic restaurant, brilliant family-run estate. Spacious, clean, well-appointed rooms. Owners and staff were top notch.
We loved the bath and the tea and coffee facilities. The room was very comfortable and quiet. Internet use was good and the staff were very helpful. .
Everything that I read in previous comments was true. It is 15 minutes away from Weeze airport. Exquisite service. Very good dinner and breakfast. I was with customers, which arrived very late, but still had the opportunity to have some sandwiches. Very good indeed.
Very good restaurant. This also includes the breakfast. I found the room not heated. They also turned off the heating that I left on when leaving the room on the first day of permanence.
Friendly, and excellent, smart, cosy and comfortable restaurant. No
Large rooms, clean, great restaurant
Lovely staff, breakfast, dinner. Family feel.
quiet, clean, bar access, breakfast service wireless is a bit slow
Walking distance to village centre, spacious layout, easy parking, clean. Breakfast on Sunday mediocre with fried eggs not freshly prepared (overcooked).
Very helpful staff - especially as I arrived quite late and I appreciated their help ordering in some food as the restaurant was closed
I found that the Staff was very helpful in assisting with every thing that I needed. I was traveling for business and have a poor understanding of the language, so I relied heavily on the staff for assistance. They were exceptional!
The staff were excellent The noisy air conditioning, even if turned off the motor starts every two minutes and then turns off, other rooms were the same as could here them.
friendly staff, good breakfast with lots of choice.
The personal attention and care are exemplary. The setting is scenic. Though some amenities are quite basic, this farmers B&B is very complete. A bit remote (if you were looking fotr city life:-)
Very friendly and helpfull staff
