Pros: It's very good hostel.
Pros: Spacious room, friendly staff
Pros: it was quiet
Cons: The mould smell, very uncomfortable traditional room beds although I did book these. Having to pre book times for everything such as breakfast and the very run down feel of the place, it felt like a hotel in receivership being ran by an appointed manager.

Pros: Location was good
Cons: Breakfast was not that great. No real non -Pork items in the menu. Dinner menu was the same (a la Carte), with very little choice. Had the beef and the same soup both days. One day we had an almost Vegetarian Breakfast
Pros: I liked the cleaness of the hotel and room and also the size of the room.
Cons: First of all, there is no restaurant around the hotel and the hotel only has one restaurant which is very expensive. I booked the room without dinner and when we went to eat dinner in the evening, they said the table is full so we had to wait for one hour. I think the staff should have told me what time we want to have a dinner when we checked in so that we should not have that problem.
Pros: Nice service
Cons: No tours
Pros: Nice onsen
Cons: A bit expensive for what you actually get

Pros: The owner had great communication. Room is clean and loved the bathtubs!
Cons: It's a little dark at night. No convenient store nearby. The only options they have are instant noodles.
Cons: The place was far from bus stop and the snow is thick , I was charged extra 1000 yen for the heater , I have paid final price of 7000 yen with this website . I was the only one staying there on 27th Jan , I had to inform the host of the timing before I go to shower, because the host needs to On the heater , the host also micro managed my timing of checking out .
Pros: Bathroom facilities
Cons: Traditional Japanese accommodation and amenities
Pros: First of all, staff was incredibly friendly, very helpful, perfect english, and gave a lot of valuable info. The room was a japanese style room, very clean, spacious, and confy. There's also a japanese style public bath room, with ryokan traditional bath. + you can rent a bike and play tennis. Also really close to the very beautiful lake with view of Fuji-san. Basically an amazing hostel for a cheap price.
Cons: Nothing bad about this place. If you're looking for a luxurious high-end hotel, maybe this isn't for you. But if you're looking for an authentic japanese hostel experience with exceptionally friendly staff : this is the place.
Pros: You should not stay there. Our first bad experience in three month of travel through Japan. (Please see negative points)
Cons: very stressed staff / unwelcoming place / shower accessible only on restrained times / kitchen and common room lighting only on request / bath impossible or very limited (we had to insist to get half a bath) / old bikes in bad condition to check and inflate yourself / excessive prices for coffee and noodles / heating payable for the room (even when it is not cold) / no cleaning / no bottle of water / only 1 towel for 3 days / no cleaning in the shared toilets / room not corresponding to the advertisement (triple room instead of family) / only basic room equipment / yukatas claimed after forgetting / two tea bags for three days.....

Pros: The host was very nice and accommodating. He was very lovely and genuine. We only stayed there for 1 day and it was raining so we didn’t get to see much of our plan. The accommodation was very lovely downstairs you’ll feel the modernity and in the room was very traditional. Felt like I was back in time. I love the vibe . I would recommend this place 10/10
Pros: It's such a wonderful place as a private home for me during 01 night staying but I prefer come back here one more time with a group if i has a chance. There was a convenience place to go Family Mart, 711 and other store. Location was so great and close to Yamanakako lake, free bike was a gift for me to discover everything within morning time (rental fee for 1 day up to 2500 Yen). The host was a gentlemen and very professional although he has to waiting me for a long time after midnight to welcome me due to long time travelling by train. In general, that was a unforgettable memory for me at Mt. Fuji area and Five Lakes.
Cons: If you planned to go there you should take Shinkansen or Local train to go there before 5 PM because local bus will be stop working after 8 PM for last journey and you have no choice to pay for taxi, that's the bad idea.
Pros: Very quiet and home ambience.. mix of modern and japanese style house
Cons: Very quiet abit spooky but no ghost
Pros: Location OK, bike free, room meager, onsen OK
Cons: space, toilets
Pros: everything, it was a really cool place

Cons: No Breakfast but they have areas available. But honestly there are so many cute little cafes near by it was fun to explore those.

Pros: Everything!! Hosts were amazing, free bikes to cycle around the place a massive bonus and the breakfast was lovely. Would 100% recommend :)
Pros: Location, staff, and food
Pros: Very nice people. Good management. We enjoyed gathering in the commons outside our rooms.

Cons: Price not include breakfast and not really japanese style ryokan breakfast.
Pros: Great place with traditional Japanese atmosphere!
Pros: Amazing guests, always smiling and really helpful!! The place is great, near by the lake where we can enjoy a beautyfull view of Mt Fuji! Rooms are comfortable and hot bath is great too!
Located in Yamanakako, Sun Plaza Hotel Fuji Lake Yamanaka is within a 15-minute drive of Lake Yamanaka and Oshino Hakkai. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk, luggage storage, and laundry facilities. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The room is spacey, and well insulated for winter. There is two separate toilet in the quad room, hence 2 person to 1 toilet makes it great for families!
Cons: Timing of the meals (but it is early enough, so you get to "rise early" and maximise your day time for activities!
Pros: The hotel is one of the few cheapest hotel among the area, but the room and breakfast is much better than expectation! Good location with convenience store in 1 min walking distance, and close to the main road to Lake Kawaguchi.
Cons: Need extra cost for double bed, even for same room size.
Pros: Is so near to Mt Fuji as if you are just at the foot. Nice view especially that I get to see snowing during my stay.
Cons: Everything was ok until checkout time, the tour buses engine was on and one of the bus parked directly in front of the door way blowing all the carbon monoxide directly into the lobby. The entire lobby is so smoky and hard to breath. Very very bad. How can this happen in Japan.
Pros: Very nice dinner , but breakfast was under expectation / cold food & the room was not heated .
Pros: the location is good for the mt fuji
Cons: well, it's not the staff but the other customers whom i think a bunch of chinese.not all of them are bad and they are customers also, ofcourse!i saw some who act where they knew they are in japan and they are in civil actions..but there are who keep on complaining with their loud voices...but i know more than me, the staffs of the the hotel are in rough.keep it up!
Pros: Big room with so nice view of Mt Fuji and lake❤️. Available onsen and free parking. Family Mart is just a minute walk next to the holel door.
Cons: ‘No meals’ on dates of our stay by the hotel suggestion to amend the booking.
Pros: Amazing place close to the lake, cute house with very warmy decorations. You feel very good in this place. Plus we went in winter and they had a kotatsu (warming japanese table) and we enjoyed so much to sit under it!!
Pros: Great location, well-equipped and spotless environment, home-like vibe, and super friendly and helpful hosts who speak fluent English, designed and decorated the place in a cute way, and offers detailed information!
Pros: Everything they offered. They really treated us kindly. It is more worthful than the price they offered.
Pros: The deco of the house is a perfect match for its name. It was like a dream indeed! Every detail is so arty and creative. Hosting couple very friendly and thoughtful. They sell warm gloves at very low price which saved my life the next (snowy) day. Btw, thanks for finding my earrings, Kei!
Cons: The only reason I didn’t rate a full score was the oil heating used for winter. A sad thing that I happen to have a sensitive nose. But I will definitely stay again in other seasons!
Pros: The owner was really kind and helpful. I felt really comfortable in there. If I return to Yamanakako, I would definetely stay in the same place.
Pros: Excellent location that just 2 minutes walk distance to the bus stop, or 5 minutes to the lakesides; the facilities provided make my stay there very comfortable. Hosting couple are so nice to provide abundant info traveller may need: convenient shop, supermarket, restaurants, viewpoints....And not to miss, the Mt. Fuji is just outside the windows! Kei: hope our cooking of beef didn't make the room too smelly...we should invite you to enjoy together, haha :P

Pros: Very friendly staff. Nice view from the second-floor room (can see the Mt.fuji from the room). Location is perfect! Just 10 minutes by car to the shooting point of reflection Mt.fuji.
Cons: The staff might be too hospitality, we actually hope for more personal space and time. But overall there was not much to complain.
Pros: The host of the property is wonderful. A lovely elegant little Japanese lady of great courage and enthusiasm. We loved her. The stay is very traditional Japanese and is a wonderful experience.
Cons: The pillows may have had a layer of crushed volcanic rock in them but I'm sure it was for our benefit.
Pros: very quaint area, a little hard to find, its down a hidden street into the woods. we had to check in really late (around 11pm) and there was someone up to greet us. there were only to bath houses so it seems like it could get crowded (you lock the door when you use one) but it wasnt a problem at all. very easy check in and only a 20 minute drive from the main section of mt. fuji.
Cons: rooms were small and there were shared bathrooms for all of the guests. there was a language barrier BUT she was so helpful despite it.
Pros: Nice bath and very friendly hostess.
Cons: Wish the location was closer to the lake.

Pros: Futon is comfortable. The owner is very nice. The hot bath made my day!
Pros: everything was great , the privet hotel onsen espiecially :)
Pros: It was a very traditional Japanese experience
Cons: I asked for a room for 3, they gave me a room that held “4” with 2 floor mats smaller than twin beds. We stayed 2 nights for 32,000¥ ($320.00) shower was downstairs, public, and only open for use in the morning and evening, toilets are also downstairs and public. And the hotel is yen only so I had to search the area for an ATM. That last tidbit would have been nice to lean about on your booking website.
Pros: The owner is nice and helpful. Japanese-style room is clean and spacious. Since we were the only group of travelers staying there, we were glad we could privatize the toilet/bathroom/pantry. We didn't have problem with its location as we were driving. There is a big supermarket and hotspring spot nearby. Very happy overnight stay !

Cons: no complaints. building and facilities are old, as usual in countryside Japan. atmosphere in dining room could be better
Pros: In this hotel, we had the best meal in Japan during our 15 days trip. The staff is more than excellent!!!! The bathroom is a traditional Japanese family bathroom but the toilet is in your room so the combination is very nice!!!
Pros: This hotel is the best in any hotels where I have stayed. The rooms are spacious, clean, comfortable, pretty which overlooks a beautiful Japanese style garden. Their food is delicious, every dish was like a piece of art. The staff members are like family member to the guests, speak English, very friendly and warm. We will never forget these breakfasts & dinner with Kaiseki style. The owner Naokazu-San (Father), the wife and their son Youichi-san are very kind and hospitality. The garden is very nice.
Cons: The rooms are little bit old but clean, convenient and wider than others in Tokyo.
