Pros:Lots of activities to enjoy at this hotel. Along with a outdoor pool and fitness room they have a basketball court, horse shoes, chess, little mini golf putting area, small playground for kids, and a BBQ. Rooms were new and clean. Great rates for my stay.
Cons:Front desk was hardly ever friendly. Blank faces and monotone responses is what you will seem to get. 2/5 nights I stayed here they started putting breakfast away 30 minutes early, breakfast hours are posted 6am-10am. I reached to make a waffle and the attendent said he turned it off 15 min ago (9:30)...didn't turn it back on for me to make a quick waffle. Queen room was quite small. Room was never serviced when I put the 'do not disturb' sign away in the morning.
Pros:When I checked in my single room was double booked so the manager upgraded me to a double which was very nice. It only took him a few minutes to get it done. It was clean and spacious and comfortable. I got the rest I needed after a long day and wish I didn't have to leave, but had to get back home early the next morning.
Cons:When I first walked into the room someone had sprayed lots of hairspray and it was still lingering. I'm allergic to certain perfume scents so I had a headache most of my stay. That is nothing that Microtel did or could have done to prevent that.
Pros:I love that they have a playground for kids although they had other things to do like basketball and golf but no equipment for it? The pool looked nice but it was too cold to get in. Staff was nice and I love that it was smoke free. The room we had was nice. I think it's a nice hotel but not for a long stay like we needed. Breakfast was the same every day.
Cons:There wasn't always someone at the desk because they were outside smoking. The guy at the front desk wasn't very friendly. They only have one luggage cart and when we were leaving it was no where to be found. Check out time is at noon and it was annoying to have housekeeping standing outside our room with the cart waiting for us to leave when my husband had to take everything down by himself without a cart because we have two small children and I had to stay in the room with them. The housekeeping cart was parked right in front of our door making it hard to get out? The pillows seemed worn because they were lumpy. Also partly our fault for forgetting the do not disturb sign on the door, but one morning house keeping came by at 8am and we were still in bed? We stayed for a week so I would've thought they would think to wait to come see if we needed anything? It didn't seem like a lot of people were staying there since there was a handful of cars in the parking lot but it seemed like a lot of the rooms were filled around us? One night there were teenagers running through the hall and being loud. This was after 9:30 and I had small children sleeping. I could hear the neighbors tv at night and was loud, I didn't say anything because I'm sure they heard my child cry at 3am? We did get tired of the same dry breakfast every day.
Cons:The tub would not drain, so I reported it on Friday night. The gentleman at the front desk brought a plunger, but it would still not drain. He told us he would inform the plumber the next morning. The next day it would still not drain. When I checked out I told the front desk clerk about the drain and how we reported it our first night and she shared that no one had put in a work order for it to be fixed.
Pros:It was clean and the staff were helpful.
Cons:There was an electrical storm and the power was off three hours. The breakfast was mostly carbs and you really need to find somewhere to eat.
Pros:The cleanliness and the friendliness of the staff were both exceptional. The size and comfortableness of the room were fine and as expected for the price point. The amenities that the hotel has to offer are also nice.
Cons:The shower was on the small side, and the water pressure was not great. The continental breakfast was a nice touch, but I would recommend offering a little more variety, especially since the dining options in the area are not great.
Pros:Quiet and peaceful surroundings.
Cons:The air conditioner was broken and the room was hot.
Pros:Warm, pleasant welcome by Charles. He explained what was available to us in great detail and in a lighthearted way. Felt we were "old" friends. Easy to deal with him.
Cons:I thought the parking lot was unusual. Most of the spots were behind a concrete berm. I noticed one side had a handicapped ramp but didn't notice the other side of the berm having a ramp. Never saw a parking lot set-up like this before. Other than that, I thought the facilities were above par in every respect. We'll be back!
Pros:Very clean. Cannot tell you how much that means to us and a great bfast.
