It was good value for money
We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. It is a very good hotel for a reasonable price.
Excellent breakfast. Room veryomfortable and good access to public transport Pity there was no facility in the hotel for evening meals. Quality of food and value at sister hotel was not as good as I would have expected.
Very convenient hotel. The staff is extremely cordial and customer oriented. Adding a frigobar to the rooms will give a plus to the customers
Breakfast and rooms were good. Bed and bathroom were comfortable and very good. The climate control system of the room was difficult to use or did not work correctly
I liked really much everything in this hotel,it's a wonderful place and I love it.
full recomendation, good standard with nice price
breakfast and personel we asked for a smoking room via the site, we arrived, they told us we couldn't smoke in our room, after a bit of nagging we finally got our smoking room. And we stepped out of the lift on the 4 floor and saw that all the rooms on that floor were smoking rooms. So why the difficulty when we checked in?
Easy access. Poor breakfast.
For the price this was a good hotel very good shopping centre with meals all prices ( 2 course with beer 5.5 euros only s.s.) A long walk to the town (up hill )
Excellent location, easy drive to ski resort, friendly helpful staff. The bar area is cosy, and well organised. The original room we were given was on the North side of the hotel, with terrible views. The buffet dinner was not very good, but convenient.
Views from rooms and restaurant staff No hot water in the evening to shower for dinner. Many items not available on dinner menu which was small.
Staff atention to detail, confort, room space, view
the restaurant had very good food and wine, great service. the place is beautiful.
The location of the hotel is good and the staff were warm and friendly. In a 4 star hotel I would expect satelite tv and facilities to make a warm drink in the room.
Probably the biggest plus of the hotel is its location, together with the beautiful views that it enjoys. The service is good, the rooms are adequate. The breakfast is plentiful and varied. 1. Some of the towels in the bathroom were torn. 2. We asked reception to enquire about time schedule of Holy mass in Covilha and were never given a reply. 3. TV channels are very limited; given that patrons are of various naionalities, satellite TV should be available.
location, poor internet facility, only one PC available for the guests, and you need a mobile phone to purchase credits (as a code gets sms-ed to you)
Good location and kind dinning room staff Poor desk clerk availability to help. Low quality and variety of available food at the hotel restaurant, considering the price. Lack of cleanness of the surrounding area. Poor maintenance of hotel facilities.
The buffet dinner Room was a little empty. We weren't able to pick up wifi in the room.
I liked everything!
Hardly anything bad to point out. Was all great. Location is beautiful. Having to wear swim caps in the swimming pool. With about 20 kids in there doing what kids do in pools I think it's a bit ridiculous, specially in the outside pool. If want to enjoy a bit of sun and then take a dive to cool off, it's stupid having to put a swim cap.
Fantastic location, excellent staff. Room comfortable and spa facilities first class.
I thought the building itself was quite beautiful inside, with lots of sculpture and art work. The exterior seemed somewhat at odds with the quaint village it edged on but it was very elegantly done. I would definitely go again and with more time to enjoy the pools.
The excellent dinner and breakfast buffets for a very reasonable price. The showers pre-swimming-pool are not post-signed and are not compulsory which is rather shocking. The heated swimming-pool is more for soaking than for swimming - there are hidden walls and tubes a little bit everywhere, again with no signs. There isn't enough light for reading in the room !!
Located in a beautiful natural mountain setting. Very nice modern decoration. Family friendly. The SPA treatments and pools are superb. Recommend the meals. Loved the Junior Suite I stayed in.
The very good swimmingpool, the building and the way it was carefully build, the nice staff, the fair breakfast... That there´s no full information on the website about the extras: for instance that you have to pay €5,00 for the swimmcap (that is compulsory); that the extra bed, is an extra maplebed and not a bed...
It is realy a hotel where you can relax with luxary - in a spectarcular enviorement. The Auquadome is perfect.
Staff excellent - very friendly, very helpful! None
You have been very successful in chosing and training the staff. In my mind it is the most important factor in the hotel business. All of them show a very good balance between being well informed, interested to help, but not imposing their knowledge and "selling" at every moment. The best way to sell is to provide a service that the customer appreciates and want to have more of and that is what Soraia in the Spa managed to do for me and my wife. She should be commended for her professionalism and pleasant appearance. It would facilitate to have a place where you can hang robes and towels in connection with the saunas. It is now very important to maintain properly all the nice installations. The shower outside the sauna was not working when we were there.
Good room for a family although very dark. Some overhead lights would be good. The room was not ready when we arrived at 4pm. The pool area was absolutely packed as was the car park but by 8pm that night, the car park was relatively empty which makes me think that a lot of people around the pool were not actually staying at the hotel as you could park your car in the underground parking lot and walk thorugh to the pool without anyone checking.
The hotel staff were very friendly and even showed us to our room. The pool facilities were fantastic and the pool bar prices were very reasonable Hotel restaurant was expensive
Nicely located close to the highest part of Serra da Estrela. Nice swimming pool (not heated, so little cold) with view over Covilha + surrounded area, lounge music all day long which is good to relax. Splendid breakfast, with good variety. Building and rooms looked a little outdated already, but nevertheless still comfortable. No fridge on room.
Good and quiet location, only 10 min from the ski resort. The rooms are not very big but they are good nevertheless.
The location is fabulous, employees are friendly The rooms are tiny and the hotel was with works in the pool, not taking spaces outside to take advantage
This is a very interesting and comfortable hotel in a fine location with excellent views (its worth the small supplement for a valley view room!). We first stayed in 2005, now (in 2008) it has been sympathetically updated with very well appointed rooms and bathrooms. The design of the hotel is quite striking and unique. Very nice swimming pool/terrace with a bar providing drinks and snacks
View - although weather was so bad whilst there saw little. no mini bar, no hair dryer in room, lighting poor.
It was very quiet. The buffet was not really very good.
The location near "Serra da Estrela"
we enjoyed the hotels the views down the valley were fantastic a quiet relaxing location food very good and staff helpfull and friendly
Room was fanrastic. Very modern and well appointed. Staff was very helpful and patient with our very limited Portuguese. Staff had very limited information on independent hiking opportunities in the area.
The mountain view and great swimming pool over Covilhã
staff very courteous and professional both at reception and in restaurant - food was very good also reasonably priced
Excellent and helpfull staff at a good rate
Good breakfast wireless didn't work; swimming is closed in the evening and opens too late
Easy parking, excellent view, quietness, attentive staff, cleaness, confort. Perfect maintnance. Nothing at all.
Big room, with A/C, very good WC, facing the main street, but very quiet and silent, Simple but pleasant breakfast, and free Wi-Fi internet access. Swimming pool is used as well by non guests for hidro gym, and everybody is compelled to wear swiming caps.
Great if you have a car, however the hotel is not in the centre
Clean modern hotel, good car park, spacious room and bathroom, good breakfast, reasonable location Leisure facilities don't open until 9am!
A good hotel if you want to stay close to the mountains and enjoy a city life at same time. Very good conditions
Boa localização. Óptima relação qualidade/preço. Conforto e limpeza. Good location. Very nice value for money. Confortable and clean.
Quiet, good location, near to the modern side of the city. Internet wasn't free.
The house is pleasent, the environement, the view is fantastic, the location is perfect No supermarket near, bad isolation of windows and doors
The location of the hotel with superb natural landscape. Great accomodation for a reasonable price
Absolutely amazing!!! Great rooms, wonderful staff, excellent food, nice pool, sauna, relaxing area. No complaints at all. Its a remote location with fresh air and nature surroundings. Good for walks/hiking and especially good for relaxing. Highly recommended!
The friendliness and professionalism of employees is the best in the house. Excellent design and comfort. Flawless. Dificult access to people with limited mobility.
Beautiful location, serenity of the place, food, comfortable bed, services, kind & helpful hotel staff.
Quality of hotel and service
the spa & indoor pool, the friendly staff, the awful smell of sewage from the bathrooms. The hotel needs to get this fixed urgently as it will put a lot of people off staying there and the hotel itself is lovely.
A good breakfast; good price for a great room. To much light (the black out didn't work) and pillows too big ans too small.
Great scenery, friendly staff, good food, great value! Nothing
The hotel was very comfortable and the staff very friendly with good english. The position of the hotel was also good for motorway access. Nothing.
Internet service on the room did not work well
The facilities were excellent, the location was ideal as we were travelling down from Bilbao to the Algarve and it was half way between both places. Food was good and value for money.
Make's all the surrounding hotels seem a whole lot better when compared to this one. Hotel staff was annoying and had the nerve to call my cell phone during the day with stupid questions about my check out date, in a clear sign of mistrust. I did try to complaint but I left the hotel with the feeling that I was totally ignored. Noisy plumbing all night long.
very good place to stay to visit Serra Da Estrella region. Also excellent restaurant.
the pool ,the quiet and the food no
The room was clean and very comfortable with plenty of space. Breakfast was good value with good variety. No tea or coffee facilities in the room sometimes it was difficult to get service in the lounge area, bar area.
Friendly & helpfull staff
Wonderful location, food was gorgeous in this family run hotel. Staff were very hospitable. Good value for money. Bed was firm.
The hotel is situated in the beautiful valley. The room was spacious and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. Good place to spend a night if you travel across Portugal. I saw big ants in the flakes when had my breakfast.
Comfortable, clean, good value. The hotel restaurant was also very good.
It was a most pleasant - but all too short - stay. The staff were frienndly & welcoming. The room was immaculately clean and the food was truly excellent and overall, real value for money. Wi-Fi connection was a bit sketchy
Friendly, family run facility, good location close to beautiful hiking in the Serra do Estrella, great dinners and breakfasts in on-site restaurant with lovely view of town/mountains. Convenient to have internet access on-site. Hosts were very helpful with info about local hiking trails and places of interest. Lovely swimming pool!
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Restaurant was fabulous. Beautiful area.
Friendly reception, hospitality, beautiful environment, excellent restaurant and breakfast, very beautiful swimming pool
Situated across from the town and in the foothills of beautiful mountains. Peaceful and quiet. Very friendly staff and excellent food. All at a very reasonable price. On site parking and free. No safe in the room, bathrooms need updating
A very pleasant hotel near the centre of Manteigas. Close enough to walk, far enough fro tranquility. The atmosphere is real Swiss but befits the surrounding mountains.Nice rooms with balconies with a great view over the West side of the valley. Bathrooms are not too spacy and hotel staff could be more forthcoming and less stiff.
the hotel was in the centre of the town the parking was excellent
central location, good service, big room and a good restaurant breakfast might be improved but this is a small issue. After all Portugal is famous for dinners and not the breakfast buffets
The price. The location. The free wireless internet access. The water pipes were too noisy. The restaurant food was quite bad. Better to find another restaurant. One TV was not working. The Air conditioning was very old and it didn't work very well. Yet, the room was not cold.
the room was very clean but needs up to date furnishing. It was in an excellent position. the bar was shut and there was no room service. Ordered room with internet but it did not work the whole time we were there.
Location. Room services was unavailable on its schedule.
Very helpful hostess. Our room was very clean, spacious, quiet and well equipped. We also had the use of an upstairs dining room/lounge for after dinner relaxation. The breakfast was good. It's an exceptionally charming hotel in an unspoiled village. Off season, there is no restaurant or decent shop in the village where food can be bought.
Numa palavra: Tudo!!! Quarto com vista para o castelo, recepção calorosa, cama superconfortável, velas no quarto, pequeno almoço delicioso, donos do hotel super-simpáticos... Nada a apontar
This hotel is located in a very pretty small village in the mountains. The outside of building is the original but inside it is converted to a beautiful modern home. Our room had a small balcony overlooking the ruins of the castle - one hundred meters away. Very clean hotel with comfortable beds and modern bathrooms. Parking is on the street - streets are very narrow. Hotel is not that dificult to find as it is relatively close to the main highway. Hotel staff doesn't speak English. Breakfast was just OK but enough for the money 50 euros that we paid for our one night stay.
Beautiful Village, Beautiful Hotel - will stay again. Note we were given front door key.
A lovely old house recently converted sympathetically, in a traditional hillside village. Very comfortable & clean rooms, good sized bath (be patient waiting for hot water to arrive... it will), nice breakfast with freshly-baked bread. The owner is very friendly, even if her English was nearly as basic as our Portugese. Great value. Out of season, there is no restaurant in the village though only 10-15 minutes drive away is Fundao with a selection. If you visit with a large car, it may be wise to park in the village square to avoid scraping it against the very narrow streets.
