Good staff, nice hotel, fine location -
We booked a suite but only got a room because they had over booked so was very disappointed about that
The location, staff and size of room The rooms were too hot
central location It was extremely noisey!
Work has started on building a 32 storey tower block next to the hotel. Rooms overlooking the building site are extremely noisy.
Being In the town centre
Good location, room and food! Wish there was a jacuzzi there!!
Lovely spacious room, warm, Flat screen TV staff lovely and friendly
the hotel the centre of the city evry thing is good
Smart, clean, good value, well placed
Please write at least 15 words
the privacy from the staff and the location was great th waiting around at reception beiong a bit slow
Good location ad view from window.
Pleasant, spacious comfortable room. Convenient for ciry centre and only a £7 taxi ride from the Sheffield arena. Nice bar area. Good breakfast.
The aircon worked (it often doesnt); the bed was comfy and the room clean and big.
Convenient city centre hotel primarily a business hotel but no worse for that.
All round, excellent
The rooms are lovely, staff friendly and helpful, and it was just a really great place to stay. I couldn't sleep because people were so noisy in the corridors! The guys I was travelling with also had this problem. I think it'd be helpful if we could have called reception to get something done about this, as I felt bad for asking the people to keep it down - but it was going on from 2 to 4 in the morning! This noise happened on all 3 nights that I stayed.
Nice and clean, comfortable room with friendly staff. The bar prices. Wow! Must be part-owned by Ryanair.
The design and materials used on the ground floor and its juxtapostion to the winter gardens are spectacular and an absolute treat to sit in the champagne bar, particularly at night time with the dramatic lighting effects. The view from my room on to the Peace Gardens was stunning. Reason for choice was availability in the price range I was willing to pay. Having stayed at this hotel I am likely to make it my first choice for future stays in Sheffield. Not enough time to enjoy the spa facilities. The room rate we had obtained was excellent but the breakfast rate was not displayed anywhere we could easily find, we had to enquire at reception. Breakfast was overpriced compared to comparable alternatives available in the city centre.
Staff everywhere could not do enough for me, they looked as though they enjoyed working there. The professionalism and customer service was of a very high standard and the room was very comfortable and spotless. The location was ideal, just a short walk from the Train station and right in the heart of the city centre. No complaints
The view overlooking the peace gardens were stunning, location is perfect. Too open plan, no definative line between the 2 restaurants, the bar staff were not very accommodating and it took 15 minutes to get a drink.
The calm welcoming atmosphere.
The beds were extremely hard.
It was quiet - could not hear doors banging, people talking in corridors, people banging around upstairs - it is the first time I have experienced such soundproofing and it was most welcome.
location staff was a bit scornful
Size and comfort of rooms and the simple but quality food served in the restaurant.
Comfortable, friendly staff Little things - such as not enough milk provided with tea/coffee making facilities - for 2 people - in the bedrooms; insufficient toiletries provided - although we had our own
Room next to the lift (203 I think), meant that I had a slepless night which noise throughout the night. Room service was incorrect, asked for Clun sandwich to exclude avocado paste but arrived with. Asked for the 'soft package' for the mini bar (3 cokes, pringles & kitkat), only the beverages arrived and they were charged as full on my bill at a higher price than the package offer excluding the two items. Overall attention to detail was poor.
Good location and extremely comfortable room. There was no minibar - nice to be able to have a bottle of water in the room without having to go through room service and particularly as its a 4 star hotel.
Check in was quick and fast.
Friendliness of everyone we encountered Booking site had suggested it was very close to the arena - it wasn't
The place was very clean and the rooms were large. A great place to stay and affordable.
The size of the room was really good and the heated mirror in the bathroom was genius! I didnt find the bed too comfortable, my neck hurt the next day.
Friendly staff, brilliantly decorated, nice food. None
Lovely room excellent breakfast, plenty of fresh fruit and the cooked breakfast was well cooked. Thermostat in room faulty(kept clicking all night) reported this in the morning though & reception staff said it would be attended to.
The comfort and size of the room. Also the quality of the fittings in the large bathroom.
room layout, cleanliness, smart appearance of hotel and overall pleasantness of staff Lack of availability of any food, including snacks after 11pm. We did no want room service. Lack of available seating in the lounge areas
I loved our room, it was really plush with a kingsize bed, very comfortable. The only thing i didnt like was in the bathroom, they had a shower curtain which smelt stale, my sister also stayed in another room and had the same problem. They should look at changing the curtains.
The hotel and room facilities were everything you expect from a 4* luxury hotel. Very very good standard all round. We moved into 3 different rooms!!! Which on a 1 night stay was stressfull. The 1st room the tv did not work. Due to our short stay I asked if moving rooms would be quicker than getting the computerised tv fixed. So we were moved. The 2nd room was smaller but the tv did work. The room was small. The wradrobe did not open fully because of the bed. There cabinet that housed the tea/coffee kettle did not have a sockett or lghts inside, as the cabinet in the 1st room had. My husband complained as we were leaving for our night out. The night manager(?) amy, was very good she up garaded to a mazzanee room with complimentary breakfast. We had explained that having looked forward to this break for so long. With all the problems with the room and upset me and put a dampner on the whole weekend. But amy was great she had all our belongings moved for us, to the upgraded room, and arranged breakfast in bed! So thank you to amy. Her customer services was second to none!! I do hope this gets passed on.
the quality of the hotal, he ambience and the proximity to the city centre
Clean comfortable hotel in excellent location, particularly liked small square with choice of eateries and close proximity of city hall. Nothing comes to mind
went to watch a show at city hall, which was just around corner from hotel
central location for shops theatres nightlife spot on
central location & plenty of bars / restaurants in the courtyard adjoining location difficult to find , sat nav telling us to go down bus lane.
Room - very clean and good amenities Nothing
Location Much too noisy (outside noise) despite being on the fifth floor and no provision for parking nearby
Obviously being a new hotel the standard was high. Unfortunately the tv channels were not working but it was possible to watch a film if you wished. Room slightly small but bed very comfortable, excellent shower.
Radio by bedside with facility for ipod. Bed really comfortable.
The large bed Evening reception staff was rude and unhelpful
With one exception the hotel met our expectation (see below). The gardens were exceptional. The dining room initially offered only a 3 course meal menu which was said to be the Sunday evening policy. However, on complaining, a la carte was offered, which was satisfactory
Lovely grounds very obliging staff Food in restaurant expensive and poor quality
we stopped two nights and there was no heating in the bedrooms so the staff had to go out and buy some heaters
staff very helpful.
nice place and sirroundings staff friendly cigarette smoke coming from the room connected to ours
Staff were quick to respond to a problem with one room and with the problem of noisy guests Conference guests behaviour and noise
Spacious room and good breakfast. Ideal for overnight stop over for the city. Small bed for a double room, flaking paint on the ceiling and no air con.
the efficiency of the staff dealing with queries we had.
My stay was limited in time arriving late on Wednesday evening and leaving early on the Thursday. The hotel however has good leisure offering which is something I always look for in a hotel, my only regret is that time did not allow me to use the facilities.
Modern building & decor, rooms clean and comfortable. Superb self service/buffet breakfast, plenty of choice, cereals, fruit, pastries, full English, teas, coffees etc (good quality produce/products) Rooms too hot!!
Good breakfast, very modern hotel No air conditioning, bed very small ,trains very noisy
breakfast was good carpet would of been nice
Very nice and modern. I will stay at another Ramada Hotel next year. None
very enjoyable stay.Comparers very favourable with competitors. nothing.
Veryclean breakfast very good every thing there you could wish for No bad points
V.Clean, facilities in good working order, good breakfast. Nothing!
Value for money
Friendly atmosphere and staff. Located handily for both Barnsley centre and South Yorkshire countryside Everything was fine
it was ideal location for barnsley town and the toby carvery was next door
The staff on reception were very friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable and there was enough tea and coffee for more than one drink.
Friendly, professional and good value for money The price of a bottle of water. Can get a full breakfast with toast and tea in London for less!
The food was excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The walls in the hotel are very thin, while staying there my partner and I could hear everything that was going on in the room next to ours, including business phone calls at 4 am.
The starter for the meal I had there was original and exceptionally tasty no
Told to check in at 3pm - no rooms available till 5.30pm - late fr our planned function.
Hotel was clean and local to town centre Room was small
The staff were excellent, helpful and curtious. especialy a young man who dealt with us on Thursday 24th and Friday 25th July 2008. Well done. the bathroom in the room was fairly basic for such a hotel. the curtains in the room were detached from the rod which is used to close them, the safety lock on the windows was broken and the window can be fully opened.
The complimentary wine, chocs, bath robes and slippers. Plus the gym facilities were amazing and the pool was lovely and warm. I felt very spoilt! The bar was very expensive! £13 for one glass of white wine!!!! The barman didn't tell us when we ordered, we just asked for a glass of white wine and then came the bill....Arggh felt a bit decieved: There were glasses on the wine menu cheaper than the one he offered.
The beds were comfortable, rooms were clean and staff was very friendly the bathroom needed refurbishing!!!
the hotel staff were particularly helpful but wouldnt like to single anyone specifically. As I have only recently become a Hilton Honours member I will certainly be looking to use Hilton again with such efficient and welcoming staff. nothing particularly although the bathrooms would benefit from refurbishment with some mould and wear around the bath.
Location & authenticity of hotel With the exception of breakfast the food was awful. Tasteless, too much salt, vegetables were either almost raw or overcooked as well as very poor value for money.
staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was excellent and well priced. It was comfortable. Excellent swimming pool/spa facilities.a very pleasant stay.
The staff at breakfast were just wonderful! If only every hotel that we chose to stay at had such lovely couteous people employed - they are a real credit to you!
Excellent facilities and helpful, friendly staff.
A very nice hotel in deed The rooms are comfortable, spacious and clean. I only staid for one night but I'll chose it again when I travel up there to visit my costumers.
could not complain about anything, except we didn't have time too make use of the spa a nd swiming pool, but maybe next time. none
the room was lovely and our stay was the only thing was there was alot of special offers including the 2 treatments , evening meal ,bed and breakfast for £109 and we didnt know about it one of the guests informed us as they had booked it . we will definately be booking again .
Hotel Bedroom was very comfortable Restaurant being closed on Sundays and having to eat in bar from a pub style menu. Food not particularly good and steaks not cooked as requested.
Location - access available direct from the hotel to a network of footpaths. Swimming pool Restaurant was rather expensive, and the bar menu a bit limited
the pool was great - pool staff were also helpful.
Hotel location close to city and highway
The calm air and proffessionalism of all the staff, made me feel very welcome and secure. The checking out time could have been a little later at the weekends.
The hotel was quite good in all areas I thought the quality of food for dinner and breakfast was very poor
It was convenient to the M62 The Television did not have cefax, Breakfast was extra
The breakfast choice was very good The bed & pillows were very hard
Really helpful staff Hotel is shabby and needs updating
Easy to find, be easier if direction of travel on M62 was mentioned Radio facility did not work
location and pool
Well mannered helpfull staff.Good facilities and set just out of town away from noise.Good standard of cleanliness Menu in restaurant not very accomodating. Not a lot to choose from
The hotel was warm, friendly and clean. The breakfast was particularly good as it was cooked fresh.
the price of the rooms wich includes breakfast and the restaurant was very good the whole weekends entertainment which is why we stayed in shefield
staff were very welcoming and helpful
the staff were lovely, and the bar food was lovely...at 1st u thing its expensive but the quality and portion size is well worth it...i had the chicken, bacon salad...was lovely even had croutons in it...wud defo stay again...
My daughter would say the breakfast, I would say it suited us exactly for what we needed, to be within walking distance of the O2 arena in comfort, Thank you
easy access to city centre N?A
Helpful staff Getting a little tired now - it needs a lick of paint here and there to bring it back to it's previous economical designer chic look
It was overall a good experience! Am not so sure if it will be helpful if the parking rules at NCP can be made more relaxed for the hotel guests or even as they are explained more fully to the guests on arrival! Other than that pretty good hotel!
The size and cleanliness of the bedrooms The number of times needed to swipe the key card when trying to open the bedroom door
The staff were nicem friendly and helpful! The room was also very nice!
The friendly reception staff
The staff were very friendly and helpful upon our arrival and during our stay. The accommodation itself was modern in design and good value for money.
the comfy bad and astonishing environment location
Visiting the Peak District and its distance from Meadowhall Lack of direction signs from the M1 to the Hotel
good quality rooms. friendly staff.
Very good value for money, very friendly staff-a very good experience
Great shower and a large comfy bed!! Nice hotel.
The staff were really helpful. The room was tidy and felt like a home from home. The alarm kept going off at 9.30ish. But that can't be blamed on anyone or anything
The staff were very attentive Little lighting in the bedroom
Pristine new hotel with excellent, friendly staff and very nice rooms. Also good restaurant at reasonable prices. Might I suggest a signpost from the parkway if possible? Easy to take a wrong turn here - not the hotel's fault of course.
well situated easy to find from the motorway we really enjoyed our stay and will stay again when in area
Very central, friendly staff. Comfy room. None whatsoever
Hotel needed some TLC around the edges but staff very helpful. Good value. Furrniture in the room needed updating.
The staff were excellent, made sure everything was to our satisfaction. Nothing
Good breakfast, excellent staff, clean and comfortable room. No bar or lounge.
The staff were very welcoming and helpful eg we were able to leave our luggage and pick it up later. The room was clean, quiet and pleasant and the facilities good. Nothing...all good
Attentive and eager to please staff. Good breakfast Central location makes for easy walking to town centre Some aspects of cleaning.
I found the cambridge lodge to be in great location, staff friendly and room very clean and comfortable
Pleasant staff, comfortable room. Good breakfast, good price. Central location None
The staff were extremely helpful, polite, and welcoming on every level. the rooms were very warm and very clean, and we had an excellent nights sleep. The breakfasts were freshly cooked to order and there was plenty of variety. The hotel was very close to the town centre.
helpful staff, lovely and warm on a freezing weekend, comfey beds, and central to city. no bar, but reccommended great real ale pub 5mins walk away.
type of room for the amount of money
the staff were friendly and welcoming and also the rooms were of a excellent standard i would definatelly stop there again.
The room was very clean and comfortable, the staff were friendly and polite and I had a most enjoyable breakfast great poached eggs! I didn't enjoy the evening meal that I ordered expected fresh veg and not frozen.
We have stayed at this hotel before so we knew what to expect. As before the staff were very friendly and welcoming and the service excellent. The overall cleanliness of the hotel is very good and the meals, breakfast and dinner, were very good. Nothing is perfect but we had no complaints or dislikes.
Hnady for the motorway, clean and well presented.
the staff were extremely helpful
Easy to reach from M1, good location for Wakefield. Very well appointed room and bathroom, very clean. Seemed short staffed at reception during early evening. Had to wait to check in.
No complaints at all None
Overall, were impressed by hotel facilities and staff,as well as standard of food Were unable to take lunch when we arrived at 12pm ,and were directed to a Sainsburys cafe one mile away by a staff member - not blaming girl at reception who was very pleasant and apologetic, but surely lunch at lunchtime,in a hotel is `par for the course?`
cleanliness & helpfullness of staff
Food in restaurant was not value for money
The pool, spa and gym facilities were good. The function food was excellent and unusually for such gatherings it was served hot. Both receptionists were efficient and friendly. One of our group rang the hotel five times in the week leading up to our stay to book spa/beauty treatments but the phone was not answered. A booking lost I'm afraid
the leisure facilities
clean and comfy , good location , friendly
Nothing in particular Place is dated
The attractive atmosphere linked with the helpfulness of the staff and reasonably priced 'extras' led me to feel I was in a more expensive hotel than I would normally choose for an overnight stay.
Comfortable accomodation Meal in main resteraunt considered very expensive for small portions served. I did not enjoy or finish the meal and personnally would have preferred some homecooking options such as steak pie etc..
Hotel was ok overall, but evening meal was not particularly good considering the price also my cooked breakfast in the morning came swimming in fat.
nice pool and gym the bed was very squeaky, when i raised this with staff they just laughed...never been one for sharing my bed with sooty and sweep! Restaurant stuff were rude and ignorant, the fact that i was in jeans clearly meant that i wasn't good enough for their 'posh' restaurant. avoid at all costs...
gym pool food was not up to standard
