Pros: Great Garden and surroundings
Pros: Location was lovely with great views and birdsong all around - breakfast was enjoyable!!
Cons: It was expensive so I expected the wifi to work - it did intermittently!!
Cons: Staff was somewhat unfriendly. Service at breakfast was subpar. Breakfast was officially from 8-10.30 but they started cleaning at 10 which made us feel not very welcome. Further, small things such as bathroom supplies were not replanished, charging 2 euro for the safe, noisy on the premises from early morning onwards due to staff activities.
Pros: The location
Cons: My wife fell and slipped exiting the pool and had to go to hospital where she was put in plaster and still is,but no one at the hotel logged nor showed any concern
Pros: The best place if you want to be active. A lot of sport facilities. We came to play padel
Pros: Room and terrace lovely, bar very nice and welcoming
Cons: People smoking in the none smoking zone, restaurants had no atmosphere
Pros: the overall experience was excellent and the staff were so helpful and friendly. we also enjoyed the golf course
Cons: The length of our stay. We didn't want to leave
Cons: It’s far from the port The stuff was really not nice
Cons: The room is clean, no issue here, but without the airco running it has a strong smell of some perfume I cannot identify. We switched on the airco to get rid of the smell. The apartment size is just adequate for nowadays standards.
Pros: The beds were very comfortable.
Cons: There could have been more handrails on steps for the elderly. Also maybe better signage to help with finding the room and the lift to the beach.
With a stay at Pensión La Gaviota in Playa de Santiago, you'll be on the beach, and 18.9 mi (30.4 km) from San Sebastian de la Gomera Harbour and 8.9 mi (14.3 km) from Garajonay National Park.
Pros: Great Location, very clean
Pros: This Pension was exactly as described, great location with the sound of sea so close. The owner was very kind i) giving me a birthday present and ii) providing a bed and drink/eating dish for our dog.
Pros: Location by the sea
Cons: In spite of the fact that during my reservation I strictly refused the room above the pub I got the room right above the pub (however it was closed during my arrival and payment so I did not noticed this fact, but I noticed it in the next day)
Pros: The small town of Playa de Santiago provides a wonderful microcosm and this place is in the very center of it. Right at the sea you feel like sleeping at the beach and, if you are lucky, might even see the sunrise right from your bed (see picture). I’m a big fan and will come back!
Pros: View and sound of the sea from the balcony!
Cons: This modest pension offers a fair price-to-quality ratio. The rooms are miniature, but impeccably clean and we enjoyed the balcony. I have however to WARN all travellers not to book this hotel during fiesta days as we did. As the hotel is located directly on the square where the stage is situated, it was literally impossible to sleep almost all the night (the sound of the music was so loud that the walls and the bed vibrated – I think even ear plugs wouldn’t help at all)… I would never book the room for that very night if I knew and I find it a bit unfair that we hadn’t been informed. But I guess those events are quite rare and probably easy to check…
Pros: The hostel is a good option for budget travellers. The staff is friendly and the rooms are clean and directly at the sea front.
Cons: Half of Playa de Santiago is a construction site, as of March 2019. Unfortunately, the construction site is right in front of the hotel.
Pros: Location was great, right next to the beach. We had a late check in and they waited for us untill we arrived.
Cons: There was a lot of noise from the restaurant downstairs untill late at night. Also there was a strong emergency light above the door in the room. The room was quite small for 2 people.
Pros: Very clean room. Good bathroom facilities with bath wash, shampoo and 4 towels. Plenty of pillows and extra bedding.
Cons: Not all rooms have a small balcony, ask for one if staying more than 1 night.
Pros: Very nice person that welcomed us
Cons: There was noise from the plaza below and people were talking in very loud voices in the morning
Pros: The room was very clean and had a balcony that looked out over the ocean and the black-sand shores. It was modern and well-furnished. Nearby, there are a lot of areas to walk and explore, and it's also within walking distance of the airport (if you don't have suitcases to lug around). The sunrise can be seen nearby and stargazing at night is just a short drive away. I went to 4 of The Canary Islands and stayed in 6 different places, and this was my favourite accommodation. You had to make a phone call to be checked in, but it took no time at all, and check out was super simple. Great food nearby as well. A quieter place with a lot of options.
Cons: Outside of the owner's control, there was construction taking place outside the building all day, spreading dust and noise everywhere. It stopped in the evening. Without the construction, the balcony would be a nice place to sit and read, and just watch the ocean. Because of the construction, the GPS led me the wrong way, but it was simple enough to figure out.
