The welcome was great with courteous and friendly front staff. Every staff welcomes you with a big smile. Food was good, property had many options to explore. The 9:30 pm shows were great!
The Concierge Staff wanted to sell extra and offered a lot of promotions - i was quite disappointed that we did not get restaurant reservations even though we requested for it in advance. We had to literally confront to get one in the end before we left. The app is something that needs an urgent improvement. It would be nice if they could publish the day's activities one or two days in advance so that we could plan accordingly.
Amenities, food, service, staff & food were all great! We upgraded from the Beach to the Maya resort, which worked out great! The resorts are right near each other and facilities are nearly the same (slightly nicer/larger rooms at the Maya), but with the Maya we were able to have better buffet food & 3 reserved dinners instead of 1.
Some of the common tropical drinks could use an ingredient upgrade to make them taste better.
The resort was wonderful and exceptionally clean. Staff was excellent and very helpful. Best part was that this resort lets you relax. Yes you do have to make dinner reservations but you don't have to dress up (like making men wear slacks!), you can be comfortable and cool. But since there are 3 Iberostar resorts all next to each other, they should let you visit all of them, just saying. The restaurants were wonderful and there was plenty of food at the buffet. Just another suggestion - maybe a couple of times a week, have a theme night in the buffet. It would be interesting.
The evening entertainment was very weak. For the most part the Theater was ok nothing spectacular but after that - nothing. You sit in the HOT lounge doing nothing. Some Karaoke but then nothing. They try to get you to go to the Disco but that is inside a black room. They should have some sort of seating outside maybe even on the beach. Nothing says RELAX as sitting on the beach listening to the waves while having a drink. And the only other criticism is that they let kids in the area of the pool bars which doesn't make sense since there is a whole area for kids . They climb on the stools at the bar or jump in the water right on top of you. And people who drink tend to use some salty language that I would not want my child to hear. There should be a policy that kids are not allowed in certain areas of the pool.
The staff was really great. We only stayed 2 nights so didn't eat at the restaurants only the buff it was very good. Alot to choose from. The pool was wonderful always beds or lounges.. Drinks were top shelve
The beach, the pools and the golf cart transportation
Staff was beyond rude and so unhelpful.. one night after we came back from dancing a staff member parked his cart in the dark followed us asked what room number we were in and after, another person we were with, saw him holding his aroused genital area. Freaking weird!! Kept getting contradictory information about making reservations for a nice dinner.. was told there wasn’t any reservations, then said there were but we couldn’t get them, then said each group is guaranteed a reservation, then said most people book online & when asked if we could do that was told no sorry that’s for members only.. food was unsatisfactory 100% drinks were nothing but sugar... tell me how a person can drink 4 drinks in an hour and never feel a thing.. the activities and what is on site was not explained well. When asked what’s going on we were told to download the app which Is not user friendly and not helpful.. there is so much more, however I will stop here
