So there I am from the USA in a foreign country boarding a flight being asked to pay 500 nz dollars for a few kilos when I had already paid for it. Having to produce emails and payment information on something I had done months in advance. Overall I won’t recommend virgin next time I’d book directly with air New Zealand"

Pros: "Booked these flights though Kayak. Landing from LAX at 0730 at Auckland international terminal and then departing at 0900 from the domestic terminal. This is not enough time, doesn’t allow for customs and immigration. It was a really stressful experience running between terminals with my luggage, as there was less than a 1 hour window after getting through customs and immigration, so the bag drop at international wouldn’t accept them. Got to departure gate 12 minutes before plane departure. You need more time to have a good experience !"

Pros: "Minnesota was beautiful this time of year! The flight itself was typical, similar to flying Southwest. Boarding moved. The crew were average, nothing above and beyond. Overall decent flight, but then we got diverted. Some positive shout outs to those who worked to make an unfortunate event better: Texas Aero Services and the 20 year olds at the desk were given a challenging and difficult situation which they would not be expected to prepare for and did a decent job. It was a tough spot for them and what Sun Country did to them was extremely unfair and unprofessional. These young men gave credit to the dispatcher at Sun Country who attempted to call up to the CEO, unfortunately he was not empowered enough to take care of the situation. Several star players here, but the team failed. Thanks to Waco Police and the staff at Whataburger for spinning up hundreds of meals in short order beyond the midnight hour. Thanks to KWTX, WFAA, KARE for picking up this story. Finally, to my fellow passengers, I'm sorry we all had to go through this, but to those who were kind, helping, and shed light on this event, thank you. God bless!"
Cons: "Our flight, Sun Country 550 from MSP to DFW diverted to Waco, TX. While unfortunate weather diverts happen, the airline failed to own the situation. The airline was ad hoc and did not have a plan to take care and comfort customers in an unfortunate event. With the lack of communication, I am concerned how this airline would respond in an elevated scenario. The pilot told us we had the option to deplane. After he stepped off, the flight attendant provided conflicting direction that we would all deplane and there was no option to deplane confusing passengers (crew coordination, who's in charge?). Maybe an hour later the plane and crew take off leaving all 150+ pax at what was essentially a closed terminal. Sun Country left no representation on the scene. (lack of leadership and communication). Local law enforcement and the general aviation terminal staff picked up where they could. Sun Country made valid statements with respect to FAA/TSA regulations, but they also blamed the local shuttle company for "not cooperating". The company repeatedly deflected ownership. With regards to ground transportation, we expected that it would arrive within a reasonable time (30 minutes) after deplaning. That turned into hours. I understand bus drivers have a certain fee for getting out of bed at 2AM. Sun Country, as some of us were getting a little stir crazy, I was able to call a local 24/7 hour limo service. They could be at the terminals in short order. For $750, we would get 1 limo, 22 pax from Waco to DFW. Speaking with them, moving 150 people was fairly simple. Sun Country, please try harder. For your new CEO, study this incident and you can see what you need to fix at your company. The most tragic thing I witnessed was a pregnant mother, with lap child experiencing morning sickness in front of everyone at the terminal. What angers me is no one from Sun Country was there to see or comfort her. Those people were in bed or unavailable. There were multiple failures here. In hindsight, it may have been better if the pilot refused Waco and requested Austin where there would have been TSA staff, a standby crew, or more reasonable accommodations. Sun Country could have some contingency contracts with local ground transit companies. There's a lot this airline can take in from this experience to improve themselves, let's hope they do. I would like some consideration for this terrible experience and if this airline cares about its image it should reach out to all flight passengers to apologize and get their feedback to so they don't muck it up again."

Cons: "We had to take an escalator down to the ground level and take a shuttle bus to the plane which was out on the tarmac. I don't really know why except the airport they said was busy and the plane couldn't come up to the gate. I nearly sprained an ankle because it was dark and I didn't see there was a step from the escalator platform to walk to the shuttle bus. I have never experienced that before and we have flown Sun Country from DFW to MSP several times before. They don't even give peanuts or pretzels any more and all the other airlines do."

I do not feel that there was any cause for this and made our return flight very unpleasant."

As I was closing the door, the brown haired lady forcefully grabbed the door and swung it back open and told me I had to use the lavatory in the rear. Since I didn't want to get arrested, I did. When I was gone, she confronted my wife about why she did this and did so in a very rude tone. I hope to never see her again. I may think twice before choosing Sun Country again. If it wasn't for her, the ride would have been decent."

Pros: "Sun Country's customer service was amazing. Our flight to Mexico everything went well and we were treated well. Our flight home from Mexico we had to change. My wife became extremely ill and under the direction and OK to fly home from Doctor Gonzalez It was in my wife's best interest to leave Mexico early. On phone your Reservations person was wonderful and helpful in giving us our best options. We followed her directions and when we got to airport the gate agents and , a personal wheel chair person, were amazing . Our wheel chair person for flight 572 - 2/26/2016 was your best advocate of what your customer services is. She knew every phase of the operation of your Airlines. she represented your Airline very well. She loves her job and does her job superior to others. In Mexico they made the process of flying home easy for us. We were so afraid that my wife would not be able to go through the process but they treated her so gently and lovingly and made sure we got home stress free. They treated both of us like they knew what we had been going through and knew just what to so to make us feel special and at peace. I must say your Mexico agents are well trained and professional. They made sure that we were well taken care of as well as the other passengers. We were at the Airport early and I had a chance to view how others were treat, wondering if it was just us that they made feel special, It was not just us they made everyone feel special. I just can not thank your Mexico team on the morning of 19 February 2016 enough. We are truly truly grateful. When we arrived at our home in USA a wheel chair again was waiting for us at the aircraft door to take us through customs and to a cab. Again our wheel chair person again was amazing in making sure my wife would be OK through the customs process. THANK YOU SUN COUNTRY WE ARE VERY IMPRESSED WITH EVERY ASPECT OF YOUR CUSTOMER CARE. They saw my mother waiting at the carousel (our meeting spot) next to my checked bag (she recognized my luaggage). They actually ask her what they can do to help and have someone waiting for me at the custom. I was very surprised when they told me "you mother is waiting for you, please follow me". Very pleased with their services."

Pros: "It was my first time on AeroMexico. Like what many people do nowadays, I read reviews online and was quite concerned seeing that there were some outlandish claims. However, I took all the reviews with a grain of salt because rarely do people write a comment unless they are upset. I felt nothing negative as mentioned in previous reviews. I would compare AeroMexico to American Airlines as far as service, but with more food and a free drink (liquor and wine included depending on how long your flight is and if meals are included) and much more room from seat to seat. We were welcomed on board with a mini pillow, blanket and water bottle. Halfway through the flight, right before they served dinner, they came around and gave everyone hot towelettes to clean their hands before eating. I flew from Chicago to Mexico City for a layover until flying to my final destination, São Paulo, Brazil. I am in my mid 20's, travel a bunch and would definitely say I would fly AeroMexico in the future. For the claims that the aircrafts were not sanitary, that is far from the truth. I consider myself a neat freak and it was perfectly fine. For the claims that the aircraft was extremely small, I am sure someone overweight or really tall made that remark. I am an average height and weight and felt comfy. For the claims that no English was spoken and they were rudely treated by staff, I did not feel that way at all and I am American and can't speak Portuguese. It makes me sad that most Americans go to another country and do not try to learn the native language and demand that everyone speak English. All announcements were made in Portuguese and then immediately followed by the English translation. All the airline attendants were able to either speak English or understand any requests I had."

Cons: "Flight was supposed to leave at 1:57am. It was postponed. They said they would give us more information every 15 minutes, they gave us updates every 45 minutes. Finally at 5am they said flight was cancelled, and we were instructed to get our checked luggage, go back to ticket kiosk and book new flights. There was one person working with 200+ people waiting to book flights. They did not give any suggestions or tell us what to do other than call the airline ourselves and book our own flights. They were not helpful at all. Worst flying experience."

Obviously you can't compare UA Economy to EY's "Residence" on the 380, but once you're comparing similar products across different aircraft, the 787 blows all the others out of the water. This is because of the higher cabin pressure, higher cabin humidity, and relatively enormous windows at eye level. Even UA can't ruin the 787 experience with their snippy staff (I almost found myself apologizing for asking for the little bag of snack mix that I missed out on because I was snoozing when they first came around) and ear-splitting announcements. The flight was delayed due to a mechanical, and the staff at NRT was very helpful in getting us to where we needed to be."

This was not so bad, but they changed their minds about whether we would take the original plane or switch to a second 787 that had flown in on NRT-DEN so many times I lost count. This is why I gave the "boarding" process poor marks--please just figure out whether we need to get off (we didn't need to, but did anyway) and whether we are going to switch to another aircraft before letting everyone off. The staff at NRT failed to consider moving the DEN-HKG passengers to a ET NRT-HKG flight (which surely had available seats) that was parked next door. Instead, we were all put on a HND-HKG flight leaving about five hours later than the ET flight."

Rudeness, it seems is a part of the culture at United because the flight attendants coming back squeezed past the long line for the bathroom without saying, "excuse me." They did however, say, "I need to get by," and one of them brushed by the gentlemen sitting next to me and bumped his laptop and coffee. Overall it seems that the crew working these particular United flights have forgotten that we pay hard earned money to fly. Some of us are going on vacation, to see loved ones, and some are flying to deal with unpleasant circumstances. The staff may fly several times a day, but most passengers do not. There's a lot of prep and anxiety, that goes into taking a flight and a surly flight crew multiplies that anxiety. No one wants to fly with a crew that hates their job."
