9.0 Excellent
Pros: Great variety of food, lovely surroundings, and everything was always very clean. Plenty of water activities to choose from, and performances each night to provide entertainment - and none of them were overloud or pushy, which we really appreciated. The themed restaurants are just the cherry on top of the cake :-)
Cons: We were on the topmost level, sometimes there was a bit of drains smell during the nigth, guess when the system is less used.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Private beach with incl. extensive water sports. Nice restaurants, with good sea view and amazing sunset.
Cons: Sometimes reception’s too busy to answer Qs
6.0 Good
Cons: Very crowded,too much noise.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was spacious and comfortable and there were many facilities for families. The breakfast was fantastic and the buffet dinner was also good. Above all, the possibility to snorkel off the beach was great and all sorts of short activities were provided for free: snorkelling trip, glass bottom boat, SUP board or kayak rental etc.
Cons: The hotel was a little isolated and there weren't many options for walks or restaurants outside the resort. Prices of the shop, restaurants and transportation were rather high.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We have spent 6 six days in Victoria Beachcomber Resort in January 2020. We should have stayed longer. From the very beginning we felt like in paradise. The hotel staff was simply excellent. Always smiling and always ready to help. We had nice large room on the ground floor with direct sea view and only few steps to the beach. Every evening we have enjoyed beautiful sunset and delicious dinner in the main restaurant. Every morning we have enjoyed walking in the large garden and tasty breakfast. The hotel offers unbelievable list of activities - we have tried the sailing course on the small ship and very much enjoyed it. The Victoria Beachcomber Resort is one of the best resorts we have ever been. Definitely recommend if you travel to north-west part of the island.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: great variety of food and enjoyable day and evening entertainment - always available but not too much "in your face". The spacious layout of the resort makes it never feel too crowded. Very international crowd, there didn't seem to be any particular nationality more present than others. Great free snorkel excursions and watersports options included.
Cons: people reserve their beach loungers with their towels all day, whether they are using them or not and if you don't play the same game you end up in the only leftover spots with no parasol. Also, the booking system for the a la carte restaurants means you have to decide several days in advance where you want to eat when, otherwise everything will be booked up and you're left with the very large - at times rather noisy and crowded - main restaurant. They gym is in a very sad, dark location in the lower ground floor. If you plan to work out regularly, don't count on nice inviting views from your treadmill or bike.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Pool is great ..room is very large ...beach view is great ..front disk and concierge is very good also .
Cons: Breakfast is always the same ..the staff in the main restaurant is not honest in many occasions,we asked if certain option/dish is available and they say no we don’t have ..and when we ask the manager..things change and they will bring it !!!!! And after 1 hour of dinner start ...a-lot of food options finish..they replace it with different items..for example in street food night the chicken legs run out in 1 hour and they but chicken nuggets to replace it and when we till them ..they get chicken thigh for us !!!!!
6.3 Good
Pros: Not really
Cons: Food choices at bkf and dinner limited for vegetarians

2.9 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing to like about that property
Cons: Everything....old, dirty, construction everywhere. Lawns were dry and food was terrible. I’ve stayed in better 2 star hotels in Vietnam for $50 per night.
6.0 Good
Pros: the beach, pools, new. rooms are. amazing
Cons: the food and music at dinner was too loud
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice staff, good food, nice new modern comfortable rooms, amazing pools
Cons: The beach is not so nice you need shoes to go to see
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very good hospitality and excellent service from the staff. They were flexible to ensure that my stay is confortable and memorable.
6.0 Good
Pros: The staff is great and they all paid my daughter tons of attention. They made us feel really welcome.
Cons: The hotel is nowhere near anything, so you can't walk to shopping or a restaurant. Your only choice in Mauritius is taxis (or a bus) but Le Meridien has their own taxis and set their own rates which are almost double the market price. The restaurants in the hotel and the drinks (if you didn't get the all-inclusive package) are exhorbitantly priced. 420 MUR for a cocktail, sheesh.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The facility was beautiful and well maintained with very good staff attending us throughout
Cons: NA
9.6 Excellent
Pros: it was really relaxing, quit with excellent view the room size was big enough the furniture was new and clean Staff are amazing
Cons: cleaning was good but could be improved
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The question should be "what didn't you like?"
Cons: I really can't say pictures do justice. Some pixels of the human eye are needed to appreciate what a beautiful place this is. Not just the fresh breeze, or the perfectly landscaped territory but the extra effort the coalition of different departments of staff put in to ensure you have an amazing time.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Views, sheets
Cons: Fridge should have been stocked
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Fresh fruits!! Excellent scenery.
Cons: No shops within the hotel

9.6 Excellent
Pros: The villa design and the staff attitudes
Cons: The presidential villa was at the border of the property with no border with the public beach, a lot of none guests were in front of the villa. Also there were rats in the garden of the villa
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The whole resort is BEAUTIFUL! The flowers, garden, waterfall, all AMAZING! You are in paradise here. There are different parts of beaches and swimmingpools available, all gorgeous to the very last detail! The room we stayed in was also fantastic. We had a great view of the beach, where we could see the sunset every evening. The bats are amazing as well, they start coming out around sunset, we had a spectacular show every night. The room was clean, good bed and every day you got fresh fruit served in your room. There are different activities daily where you can participate in. I can recommend the star-gazing, it was really interesting! I also have to make a compliment for all the live music performances! They were ALL excellent! We had a private concert most of time, because there weren't many guests at the resort in December.
Cons: Wines are ridiculously expensive! Not just at the resort but in all of Mauritius. They served a wine which was exactly the same you can buy at the supermarket in the Netherlands (no joke!) They asked the same price a glass, where we would pay for two bottles. Port, cocktails and other spirits were even cheaper than wine. For us, this was really weird. The taxi service at the hotel varies. Nevertheless, you feel ripped off, cause it is way more expensive if you find a taxi by yourself. You have to get lucky with your driver. Some are really nice and some are imposing you annoyingly on all sorts of deals! We went to Port Louis one day and took a taxi back to the hotel, the driver was really nice. We called him for other trips, he was way cheaper than the rates the drivers ask at the hotel. Find yourself a genuine taxidriver and make a deal for the rest of your stay. It saves A LOT of money! Although the staff is REALLY friendly and helpful and the hotel practises a certain level of etiquette, for us it was just a little bit too much sometimes. I feel uncomfortable when someone lays down my napkin on my lap, fills my drink évery time I've taken a sip and/or apologises nine (!) times when they forgotten the bread one time. This is personally of course, I guess some people expect and enjoy this kind of service. For us, it could be more relaxed.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The room, staff, location, and restaurant are excellent. I enjoyed my staying in the Oberio for 5 nights. The room service, housekeeping & the reception are perfect and quick to respond. I highly recommend it.
Cons: Lack of Day / Night activities in the resort, there are only sea sport during day, and music performing in the bar at night. Not easy to access the SPA, you always need to have a reservation and it depends on the availability.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Upgraded to villa which was excellent
Cons: Weather - a bit too wet - but missed worst of it. Could have done with better informal dining.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We spent the first week of our honeymoon at Shangri-las on the east side, so the expectations were high. The Oberoi topped it perfectly off! Stunning hotel, beautiful gardens and a service that makes you feel like home. We didn’t leave the resort for the whole week, just getting spoiled and we didn’t wanted to leave at all. The food is delicious, the drinks addicting and the friendly service was always on point. We can fully recommend it and can’t wait to go back! Thanks to the team, you made our stay unforgettable!
Cons: Leaving the place

7.0 Good
Pros: Breakfast was good.
Cons: The room was very close to the road.
7.0 Good
Pros: The beach is really nice and they provide snorkeling masks, paddle boards, etc.
Cons: It was kind of like a nice motel. It’s not as nice as the pictures and just was not worth $300 usd a night. The food is pretty below average, the service was not good at all (slow, not very friendly), and the eating area had a lot of ants on the tables, birds pooping on seats, cats begging, etc. This place has the potential to be really nice, it just doesn’t seem managed well. At least with the all inclusive we could get drinks and sit by the beach.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved our stay at Veranda Pointe Aux Biches. For our honeymoon they offered a candle-light dinner and nice room decoration. The rooms are pretty nice and clean. The restaurant offers a high standard of local and international food. During and after the dinner they offer an entertainment program of live music or dance shows. The hotel owned beach is small but very clean and nice. Your day on the beach is more funny with the free activities they offer such as kayak, stand-up paddle, snorkeling, beachvolleyball, boccia and more. The whole personal is professional and always friendly. Special thanks to the animators Ronny and Jeffry you made our stay even more agreeable. We would definitely come back.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Super Nice staff. Super Clean. Ideal for familly vacation.
Cons: Water is not including for the diner package
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendliness of staff.
Cons: Not always enough staff manning the Foot Loose Bar. Staff in the Sandy Bar and restaurant attentive and friendly.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was really nice. All of them were trying very hard to acomplish all of our requests. Really good breakfast and dinner.
Cons: The baby chairs were most of the time dirty and needed cleaning. When I was swimming in the water in front of the hotel I cut my hand. Something should be done in order to avoid posible injuries in the future.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Staying here for a few days was the highlight of our three weeks independent trip to Mauritius made all the more pleasant by the staff, Sabine, Anabelle, Kiran, Manoj, Kamal, Chef Deepak, the restaurant staff and all rounder Pamela to name but a few
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff. Good value. Great swimming pool. Rooms are a good size, with all the amenities required. Thoroughly enjoyable stay.
Cons: Location is a little removed from the major beaches.
1.0 Poor
Pros: The chef Naresh went out of his way to cook me a meal not on the menu according to my dietary needs.
Cons: The worst stay ive had ever. The following reasons why one can skip the stay here altogether: A. They charge a high amount for early check in despite informing them in advance B. They confirmed over email that payment is acceptable in both EUR and MUR but refused to accept Eur upon arrival C. Due to the cyclone i had to check out early as flight got rescheded. They neither gave me a refund of the room nor adjust it in the room expenses. The receptionist was extremely rude and didnt even let me talk to the manager. Complete waste D. The floor of my room started watering up with red ants all over even on my bed when the weather became extremely moist n humid due to the cyclonic storm.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Friendly, helpful, smiley staff all round Big comfortable AC room Superb daily cleaning/housekeeping Good breakfast Great pool Excellent local restaurant across road Best value on Mauritius with booking.com "genius" discount and FREE breakfast thrown in Cannot fault the place
Cons: Restaurant main meal prices
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We booked for two nights and then for three extra and then for another night We would have stayed longer but hotel was full over the weekend (corporate party?) I endorse my previous review and add that the super clean pool is like a warm bath, great wifi everywhere and the TV has English speaking films and channels (unlike most places in Mauritius)
Cons: It can be a little bit noisy over the weekend with local "lunch included day trippers" but was not a problem for us
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything it was calm, clean and staff were very nice

8.0 Excellent
Pros: All the staff very helpful , friendly, accommodating, always smiling and happy. with good location right on the beach, sunset view on a clear days.
Cons: could do with some fans on hot days
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The waves washing down on the shores. Amazing
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The bar view is very nice. The Staff very friendly.
Cons: No complaints.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The pool and the view from it. The perfect place to enjoy the magnificent sunset. The staff were super friendly and warm and tried everything to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Particular mention goes to the kitchen/waitressing staff and Manu from reception
Cons: There isn't much we didn't like. It's a small cosy hotel. Maybe we made a mistake choosing a small room. But we could have chosen a bigger one during the booking process
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The proximity to the beach can’t be beat! Some of the best snorkeling I’ve ever experienced is right in front of the hotel! Fantastic! The food! All the food! I found the authentic dishes to be the best. I had a vegetable curry that was so good, with multiple layers of flavor. And those street noodles!!! Oh my gosh! I crave them!!!
Cons: I wish there was no smoking allowed on the premises. Considering this is an adults only hotel, it was a bit much when several local children showed up on the daily to scream, yell, and play on the small beach right in front of the private hotel. I get that they live there and the beaches are probably all public, but when you’re trying to relax and take a nap and are awoken by screaming children, it takes away the adult only ambience. Which is specifically why I chose the hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice people, attitude, good food, big room
Cons: Not close to a city for a walk
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast well served and a variety of foods

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Clean, friendly staff, pool and beach access with sunbeds for free, good breakfast, good location - Rental car was helpful, kitchen equipment
Cons: Stones at the beach/sea - aqua shoes needed, but nice anyways! Some ants in the apartment, but not highly bothering.
6.0 Good
Pros: The hotel is really clean, the staff at your disposal. You can choose from two different types of breakfast ( English/Continental), for dinner if you paid for half board you have a three course menu that is decided in advance ... drinks are not included in the price, and the staff is a bit pushy with selling everything that is not complimentary. There is also a la carte menu. The food is really good, and it is possible to ask for special meals example....vegetarian meals. The hotel is quiet good for people that want a quiet stay and are willing to drive everyday to other locations.
Cons: The location is not the best unless you use a car everyday, there is a small market 5 minutes away for essential things other then that you need to move to other places. The beach in front od the hotel is not for swimming, lot of rocks, the hotel next to it has a better beach but still not the nicest compared to all the beaches this Island has to offer. The excursions offered not the best, a bit of a tourist trap. The catamaran trip to Ile aux cerfs to be avoided, try to find some other agency. The catamaran broke down im the middle od the trip, bad bbq and the snorkeling was pretty sad.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff in hotel and restaurant very nice and friendly . Food in restaurant very good.
Cons: The bed too soft .
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Location is great for the north of Mauritius. If you want to find a hotel that you can swim/snorkel at, head South/West/East!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: good food, nice beach ,cosy quiet room
Cons: low food choices
6.0 Good
Pros: Pool is nice.
Cons: We got probably the worst room in the property, studio deluxe B1 that is the only one facing a wall from the window, noisy and just in front of reception. we have been woken up every day by noise of guest coming and leaving and cleaning staff. 3 of 4 power sockets next to the bed were not working, I have tried to ask reception about it the first morning after breakfast but when they came to check the housekeeping just cleaned the room and they couldn't enter as the floor was wet, they have never double checked and sockets never worked again. Same as the fan over the bed, was working once every three times we tried. Fridge very noisy we had to disconnect it on order to get some sleep. Breakfast was ok even though with only 2 options (yogurt or eggs) and one of the day one option was not available. Tea/coffee Mugs were dirty. They advertise they are in trou aux biches but it's actually 2 km away. You need a car or scooter to move around.
7.0 Good
Pros: Nice and quite place, good meal at the skippers restaurant. Good staff as well.
Cons: Poor internet connection and the pool need to clean.
7.0 Good
Pros: Room is clean
Cons: Breakfast is served from 7.30 with no flexibility whatsoever. Not ideal for a business Traveller. To their credit though, they did provide two pieces of toast, juice and some jam and butter. They only had vanilla tea bags which was disappointing

5.4 Okay
Pros: the location and complementary yacht ride were impressive
Cons: Breakfast could have had more variety, there were insects in the room, and basics things that we expected would be complementary, like water, had to be paid for.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The sight was beautiful from the restaurant of the hotel. The breakfast was ok.
Cons: The hotel was ok, but the organization wasn't really good. They wanted to pay extra for the SPA that wasn't used by us, but they forgot to remind me to pay for the accomodation that hadn't been paid till that time.
7.1 Good
Pros: Good facilities (pool). Comfy bed. Large bedroom. Powerful shower.
Cons: Door to the bedroom did not feel secure enough. Not much to do around the hotel (no shops, no restaurant): you need a car.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Its was nice to stay at your villa and I surely continue bring friends or client in your villa.
Cons: It's good nothing to say.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The view from the restaurant is so appeasing, quiet place if you want/need to unwind.
Cons: The driveway and carpark could be brickpaved or sealed.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and help staff and a good breakfast and other meals. We were comfortable there. Our main reason for going was easy access to good snorkeling and that was fine nearby and also further west along the beach.
Cons: It met our expectations but be aware it is an older property. It is good value for money compared to others around,
La Margarita - Pointe aux Piments - Pool
9
6.8 Good (101 reviews)
Overview Reviews

Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, a 24-hour front desk, and luggage storage. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free self parking is available onsite.
1.0 Poor
Cons: Toilet not flushing. Bad breakfast. No hot water
6.0 Good
Pros: The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. My flight was delayed and I showed up late at night but they kept an extra plate of dinner warm for me so that I would have something to eat when I got there. That was just the first small act of many that the staff went through to make my stay enjoyable. They woke up early on the last day to make sure I had breakfast before leaving and when their overall internet went down due to a provider issue, they set up another router for us to use in the meantime to make sure we could still connect and do our work.
Cons: I had low expectations for the rooms given that the price was on the low side for Mauritius. I had hoped that was mainly because it was away from the beach, which was fine, I wasn't there for a beach holiday. However, the room I was in had peeling paint, cracks in the ceiling and the walls and shower were quite dirty. It also wasn't possible to sit at the "desk" and there were no overhead lights so it was extremely dark in the room with only bedside lamps to light up the place.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room for us was ready in the morning. Friendly staff. Nice wild beach.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff in this nice hotel with good atmosphere, very good value for money. Bed was exceptionally good.
Cons: Not really a problem for me but there is not much to do in the surrounding area. It can also be a good thing and always the hotel could arrange kayaks, glass bottom boat, etc.
4.6 Okay
Pros: location was fair. breakfast was poor.
Cons: why pay for the use of a fridge.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff were wonderfully friendly and helpful, organising taxi and actually lending me money so I could take the taxi before I had a chance to get local money etc. The room was clean and neat.
Cons: I don't really mind, but it comes across as a little cheap to make people rent the fridge space. I understand you want to save electricity, but it seems then that you should be investing in solar panels or something. It is also the first place where there hasn't been complementary bottled water. It was a bit noisy and would have been nice to have a duvet rather than just a top sheet. I checked out early (6am) and the night guard was asleep and snoring in the dining room - all doors were unlocked which made me wonder a bit about security, but the area and Mauritius in general does feel safe.

6.0 Good
Pros: Rooms are very nice and setting is obviously beautiful with the ocean. However the resort is outrageously expensive for things that are not included in your packages (there are also many things not included within the packages, even 'all inclusive') The staff are very hit and miss, some extremely pleasant and helpful, others could care less when you ask for assistance. For the 5* rating and pricing I have stayed in places that would far exceed this hotel. More like an expensive 3/4*. It is also not near anything, to get around you need to hire bikes (which is free but there are no cycle paths so you would be on the main road with cars and busy traffic) or pay for taxi's which is also very expensive!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The place was very nice and clean , it was above my expectations. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this place for stay in Mauritius.
Cons: They need variety of food during Dinner as it was most of the nights Indian cosines.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The pools were beautifully maintained and really awesome for children. The service from the staff was amazing. Their kindness and hospitality helped alleviate our frustration at times. Enjoyed the use of the golf service when it rained etc. and Mauritian dancers. The musicians in the bar were good but they always played sad and depressing music, something to spruce up especially during the festive seasons. Nicolas Arekion aka Nick was awesome, he really went out of his way to make our stay enjoyable helping wherever he could.
Cons: We love the Westin brand and compared to the International Standards we have experienced, this was mediocre. The rooms were not cleaned well, and wasn't spotless and refined when we arrived. Bathrooms are old and smelly. The most frustrating part of our holiday was meal service. The restaurants especially the buffet is infested with flies and there are also cats running around, it was quite awful. If you want to eat at the other restaurants, you have to book via this manual system at reception and you will be lucky to even get a booking given how it is always reserved especially during peak season. There was numerous occasions when we walked to some of the restaurants and found it was available as most people arrive only around 8:00pm onwards for dinner or don't pitch. There is also additional charges if they are running a seafood menu etc. In general, drinks were ridiculously expensive and for what we received, the quality didn't align to the cost. We arrived just after the storm in January so the resort was busy trying to get the place up to scratch like the gardens etc. which was admirable. We booked here because of the kids club for our daughter and quite frankly it was so sad. The play area outside is not adequately cleaned and sanitised, with minimal toys for the kids. My daughter enjoyed the kind assistants but found it boring. The staff at the pool were very slow, it took forever for service, best you just eat at the restaurants. We found it frustrating how inconsiderate people reserve pool beds with their towels, with it been unused for hours. We have stayed at other 5 star resorts like Paradise Cove and there is normally a policy, if you not using your bed after an hour, towels are removed by the staff. Overall, the staff at this resort are wonderful and friendly but they can only do so much, rest vests with management.
6.3 Good
Pros: We were a family with 2 little kids, the pool area is amazing for little kids! They’ve got a huge step which makes up a big portion of the pool which gives parents piece of mind when your kids are playing in the pool. The manager at the beach grill restaurant was amazing, he went out of his way to ensure we always enjoyed our meal and manages his restaurant really well. The Indian restaurant, Kangan, was lovely and we mainly ate here.
Cons: The beach is not a typical white sand, turquoise water beach, there is hardly a beach area and the little that there was , was cordoned off, really didn’t like the beach area, we actually only spent time at the pool, so that was a big disappointment. Breakfast was terrible! The restaurant is horrible, there were so many flies without any attempt to keep them away with citronella candles etc so it’s impossible to actually eat in peace, the eggs were dry and the staff at the breakfast restaurant are extremely unhelpful and unpleasant! The hotel needs an upgrade, the rooms are nice and spacious but they feel old and unkept. The kids club wasn’t the greatest either, it’s tucked away at the back of the hotel where kids don’t even want to go, the facilities at the kids club are minimal and only a few of the staff seemed to have energy d I rant personalities for the kids to want to be there. Overall the food wasn’t great and this needs improvement as well.
5.0 Okay
Pros: before i comment i like to state that before coming to mauritius, i traveled through india for 3 weeks. visited mumbai, jaipur, agra, delhi and hyderabad. stayed in hilton, trident and the lodhi. so my comments is purely comparatively based on my stays at these hotels in india. Room: complaints about the room. no coffee machine or bathroom scale. The room floor would sweat after the air conditioner is switch off and the balcony door is opened. Very inconvenient and slippery to walk on the wet tiles. TV is too small to view from the bed. breakfast: A good standard. Very enjoyable. Dinner: did not enjoy the food much. at every meal i had to request for salt and pepper. was never on the table.
Cons: walking after sunset was not enjoyable. Too little lighting around the area which we stayed in room 414. must be improved. we bought a package including breakfast and dinner. when we ate at the other restaurants to our surprise we limited in our selection. had to pay for soft drinks. this was not mentioned to us when we did the package. very disappointed.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was great.
Cons: Menu variety in the restaurants and buffet variety for breakfast and dinner was very limited and didn't meet my expectation.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Politeness of staff
Cons: Food options at dinner ... should be improved
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff are friendly and when they do give you time, are very kind. I loved the diving with Akshay, and the massage I treated myself to with Preet. She was wonderful.
Cons: I was travelling here on business, for meetings next by. I was a solo traveller and felt like I was overlooked in favour of the couples and families. It took longer for me to get a waiter's attention, particularly during breakfast when others were prioritised and had their orders taken and delivered more swiftly. On three separate occasions my food order was incorrect...
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Was a very friendly staff, bery nice mauritius people who looked always for your wishes . I would come anytime again , thank you for the wonderful time in Westin Mauritius !
Cons: was everything fine only the sauna area could be developed a bit !

Pros: A beautiful resort with many amenities, facilities and activities. All the staff were very friendly and really do go out of the way to make your stay a special one. Many on site restaurants to choose from and the pizza from the pool bar is the best I’ve ever had!
Cons: Lots of children at this resort. It would be nice to have an adults only section/area. Being given the option to add on an all inclusive package. This was not offered to us and then we were forced to pay for a set menu in one of the restaurants. This was not cost effective for us. We had planned to eat a la carte.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: - facilities are incredibly beautiful, cleaned and calm: room, gardens, beach and surroundings are taken care with great care - large variety of free activities (tennis, wakeboard, sailing, windsurf, yoga...) - in general (some disappointing exceptions though), staff is very attentive
Cons: - when booking dinner in any of the several restaurants at the hotel, the offer (menu, prices, special events, tables) is not transparent at all. You can just get a table a table blindly and wait for the bill at the end, which is, obviously high - despite the staff is very kind and attentive in general there were few exceptions, namely one of the girls helping with the restaurant booking and one of the girls at the nautical sports, both with an extremely condescending, arrogant attitude. We witnessed that behavior not only with us but with other guests
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, garden, clean see, facilities of the property (tennis, kayak, etc) were excellent. Breakfast was very good and rich. Always available free beds under palm trees.
Cons: dinner in the indonese restaurant
7.5 Good
Pros: Food in the restaurants was very nice, though if you are not staying all inclusive this can get very expensive. The property was overall very clean and well kept - rooms were nice but nothing special. It was nice that the little village was in walking distance, so we ventured out for lunch and dinner to the local amenities which was much cheaper than eating at the resort and also gave you a bit more of a taste for the local cuisine.
Cons: This is clearly a chain resort, nothing special about it and on the Sunday when we arrived it was very crowded. Though most of the service staff was very friendly, the service overall at the bar was very very slow..... We ate twice in the restaurants and the quality of the food was very good, but the drinks were completely overpriced so unless you are staying all inclusive it's worth the stroll into the village for a drink and food.
5.8 Okay
Pros: The swimming pool and the way the hotel is constructed
Cons: The Hotel is not value for money. It appears to be as a 5 star only because of its location and brand name. But the hotel is a very old one with extremely depressing interiors that are dark. The beaches are full of local people and operators. Not a private beach Still can't understand why do they charge so much for such mediocre service. Food at all restaurants on most days is buffet and set menu which is almost 2500 Mauritian rupees per person. No ac in any restaurants and its syper hot the weather
7.0 Good
Pros: Most of it was great, including the rooms, facilities and breakfast
Cons: Service. The staff was very friendly, however they seem to be bound by very narrow and strict guidelines. No flexibility if you had a request out of the ordinary. One very pleasant exeption was the young Jonathan at the Oasis Bar. We were told the day we left that the food service closed at 5:30. when we arrived to get a quick meal before going to the airport we were told the kitchen closed at 5:00. No one could help us, exept Mr. Jonathan took action and suggested to order room service for us delivered at the bar. We had to wait for a good while, and in the mean time we took a shower and changed to travel clothes in the transit room we were offered (good service). Jonathan prostponed his break in order to receive the food in our absence. We got our meal and everything was good. This is a little example of the little extra that makes a difference between a good and an excellent stay due to the initiative of one person. Thumbs up for Jonathan! The half board arrangement (dinner) was not at all worth the money! Expensive, and not very flexible. We were invited out one evening by a local business partner, and asked to exchange one meal to a lunch the day after. Not possible, which leaves a bad impression of no flexibility. In fact, we asked about this possibility before we ordered and arrived, a request that was never answered.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The villa with pool accommodation was the perfect setting for our family. We appreciated the butler for the extra help and the other staff was always available to coordinate reservations, etc. The resort has amazing gardens, pools and beach access and the water sport options were easily accessible (and free!). We loved that there was always bottled water available for us for free in our villa. The mosquitoes were not as big of a problem as we had expected.
Cons: The drinks prices were too high. We would have liked more choices of casual light food (take away sandwiches/salads) for lunch. An ATM in reception would have made it easier for us to provide tips to the staff.

4.0 Okay
Pros: The swimming pools and the overall look of the resort. Also the restaurant on the beach
Cons: The service was very slow and sometimes non-existant. The food was poorly cooked and repetitive . We had our air conditioning break down twice in 5 days. The room we had was old and in need of being refreshed . The beds were very uncomfortable. The staff whilst friendly were poorly trained and there were not enough of them to serve efficiently , although most tried their best

Pros: The hotel has a good location.
Cons: Hotel has become old and service standards are low. Breakfast is very bad by French standards. Staff is distrusting and doubting all the guests for small petty things. They charge guests for water and they also charged on of my guests for a louzy breakfast. Merville Beach construction is going on.

Pros: Breakfast not fantastic

Cons: Hi we have checked into Veranda Grand Baie on the 22nd December. We had paid the full amount due through my card before getting to the resort. Upon check in, we were asked to pay a further 22400 Mauritian rupee which we paid in cash. This payment was said to be for the gala event on Christmas and New Year’s Eve. We were informed on Christmas Day that this amount was in fact an additional charge to the room rate only on those two specific dates. This amount was in no way for the gala event or meals at the Christmas dinner or New Year’s Eve dinner. As per the charge on booking.com and the payment we had made in full prior to arrival, we were unaware of an additional charge to the room rate and understood the amount that we had paid to include the total cost of accommodation. Yes. We do understand that the gala events on Christmas and New Years may incur additional costs but that would be for the event itself and meals etc.that accompany the event, NOT the room rate. We have raised our concerns with the hotel management that do not seem to understand our query and are very unwilling to assist. I feel that the the advertised rate that is on bookings. Com is then incorrect and misleading.

Pros: Beach side view. Comfortable resort. Near to cities and the capital Port Luis.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Clean rooms, good activities . Not the beach you wish to spend time on Far away of facilities
Cons: There management to issues that was made by them I went there for my honeymoon and they gave me a paper of what is mine which showed that I had free breakfast and dinner I got surprised after 5 nights that the dinner wasn’t free and that paper was given to me by mistake so they wanted me to pay back all the dinner that I had. When we talked to the supervisor and waited for her to come, nothing much was added. After wasting my time , effort and continuing to reject paying their mistakes ( which kinda ruined days of my honeymoon period ) they ended up not to make me pay with no consumption of wasting my time and ruining few days of my honeymoon.

Pros: Nothing
Cons: Food was below expectations. Bedsheet and pillowcase were not clean, however; I called for the housekeeper two times and they were late. Also the swimming pool was not clean. This place should not be a 5 star rating. It was really bad experience and I will not go back to this place.

Pros: The staff was lovely! I would say “karan” was very helpful and friendly! And I would definitely suggest you the barbecue restaurant at the beach! There the staff was more than helpful!!! Thank you so much for this lovely holidays!
4.0 Okay
Pros: Bed was big and comfortable
Cons: We found a snake in our room, the service was not good as there were too many people for the staff available. We felt like another number.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: The only thing to like at this resort is the dining options that you need to book..if you are lucky to get a space. Madame Ming food was the best. The bistro food was good, Italian restaurant good The property is beautiful with old palm trees..but the grass was long on arrival and was only cut on the fourth day so it looked unkept. This place needs involved management, more staff as the staff can’t handle the guest numbers, and rooms are outdated dirty and old...
Cons: Staff unfriendly Our room was really dirty on arrival and after complaints it was deep cleaned the following morning. The towels is old and not white. My kids beds was not made upon arrival and after 4 calls and eventually complaining to management it was done way after their bedtime. You only get water in the room on arrival if you are on half board - first time ever that I experienced this in Mauritius Buffet restaurant was not good, cutlery and plates dirty, tables not set if you arrive mid breakfast or dinnertime The ocean is brown from a river flowing into it..no blue water and a nice beach as you would expect from Mauritius The beach is non existent and water is brown and deep..my toddler kids could not swim as they could not stand Kids club non existent and dirty - the “ helpers” never interacted with the kids and we had to entertain the kids in the kids club. We asked for coloring pictures - we don’t have was the response.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: This hotel would be nothing without their great staff. They made that stay unforgettable. The team from the pool to the beach bar, thank you. I only wish you got paid the right amount for the immense work that you do.
Cons: The fact that we booked a year in advance and still ended up at the furthest end of the hotel and not a view!!!! Incredible, either booking.com just buy the shorty room or there’s a miscommunication there. 3rd time in a row through booking.com
7.0 Good
Pros: Location was fine; swimming pool facilities were very good and the outdoor games etc were ample. Beautiful views especially late afternoon and early evening. The dinner selection was also excellent. The staff was mostly very friendly and helpful
Cons: I found the resort a bit over crowded and noisy. Drumming and loud music while I would have preferred a more peaceful ambience.

Cons: Water is not including for the diner package

Pros: The staff was really nice. All of them were trying very hard to acomplish all of our requests. Really good breakfast and dinner.
Cons: The baby chairs were most of the time dirty and needed cleaning. When I was swimming in the water in front of the hotel I cut my hand. Something should be done in order to avoid posible injuries in the future.

Pros: Location is great for the north of Mauritius. If you want to find a hotel that you can swim/snorkel at, head South/West/East!
