Well away from light pollution, excellent view of the northern lights. Very very remote.
the hotel location is nice and convenient the brekfast was very poor. but the most disappointing issue was the dirty tooms. it seems like tje rooms does not cleaned between one guest to another!!!! it was hair around in the room and in the bathroom!!! it was very bad and unpleasant.
Great Staff, relaxed atmosphere, food the best
The hotel was amazing. Watching the Northern Lights dance from the windows in the bar was the highlight. Staff was extremely helpful. They didn't tell us in advance that the kitchen was closed. They made up for it with a great buffet. It was quite the drive though during winter.
The chef was delightful, he prepared excellent special dishes for my daughter and I every night we we stayed. He was concerned that we get enough to eat as we did not eat meat he seemed to delight in creating something new and fresh for us each night. one hut tub did not seem to work.
Loved the warm pool - the sunrise view was gorgeous. They kindly provided a northern lights wake up call and made sure we had a good view spot behind the restaurant on the back porch. The food was excellent - dinner and breakfast. I enjoyed the well designed meditation room as well. It's sort of in the middle of nowhere but that's part of what makes it so wonderful. Go!
Staff coped very well despite a serious earthquake in the locality during our stay.
Hotel looked brand new, nice rooms, free Internet, good stop on the Golden Circle/Ring Road. Surroundings not very nice (Selfoss isn't pretty or interesting to visit), but that has nothing to do with the hotel.
Good hotel and good breakfast. Good vieuw over the river.
Great views from the room facing the mountain and river. Needed to be updated, didn't look very nice.
Very fresh and modern hotel.
We liked the facilities (especially the bath tub) and the service. Selfoss has a unique location between Reykjavik and the south cost ourist atractions. There is currently no coffe shop/bar to sit in the evening (after dinner).
Very plush - would have been very appealling were we travelling on business, on expenses..... .....but we were travelling on holiday, hence it was very expensive (but as is ALL of Iceland - and we knew it was pricey when we booked it).
Hotel was the best choice in a decent location on Golden Circle route near to where we wanted to have dinner in nearby coastal town. Service a bit meek (although it was prompt and efficient)
Space in room
Clean, modern building. Near a main road, a bit noisy. No wifi in room. Wired broadband in room did not work properly, although Reception did not acknowledge that there was a problem.
A very comfortable, clean and silent apartament with fully furnisced kitchen.
Nice and funny breakfast served in a basket. You can use the washing/dryer machine at a small fee (600 ISK in total).
Facilities (kitchen etc.) are good.
The apartments were spotless and everyone very helpful
Fosstun apartments is a very clean, modern and big apartment. The breakfast is good. The tv had only 2 islandic programms, Iwould have liked to have 1 or 2 international programms.
The staff member was very nice and super helpful! The room was large. Not an attractive building, and the rooms were basic in their appointments.
Staff was nice. The hotel room was good in size and cleanness was okay. The breakfast was only a basket with instant coffee, etc., but everything was nicely packed and so it was okay. Stayed only one night on our journey to the southeast and therefore, this hotel was good for a stop between Keflavik and Skaftafell.
Spacious room Breakfast was like a tv-dinner...
excellent value lots of space
That it was easy to find, and had clean rooms. It is not very cheap compared to the rest of the world, but I do agree that compared to icelandic conditions it is fairly cheap.
