7.9 Good
Pros: Extremely charming chambre with a lovely small terrace for breakfast. The hosts were gracious and friendly, willing to pass the early evening with a glass of rose. The breakfast was fabulous. The B&B is a short walk to a very nice Italian family restaurant. The village was not full of tourists.
Cons: Unfortunately, our July sojourn was very hot, and the booking.com advertising for this B&B was that it had air conditioning. It did not, just one of the portable air blower units that do not significantly cool down a bedroom. So we made do in the charming bedroom, but it was a struggle to sleep. The village it was in was not full of tourist charm.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location in a peacefull and charming little town near the African reserve of Sigean (5 km). Hosts are very nice and helpfull. Good restaurants in the same town or in Sigean (8km). Many things to see. Decoration quiet "old school english"
Cons: With the large room, you must know that the bath room is separated from the sleeping room by the hall where you take the breakfast. As there is only two room it's not very important.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The couple we stayed with were very hospitable and helpful. The location was excellent-near to all amenities.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful quaint and romantic decoration and very friendly and accomodating hosts. The breakfast was included and surpassed our expectations. Very close to the Sigean African Reserve.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Patrick and Nathalie are very polite, we arrived early in the morning and we knew that are room was available from 14.00. As we entered the B&B they invited us for a breakfast. So in 10 minutes we were sitting with them and some other guests at their big table although it was not part of the booking, it was so polite. After we went visititing the surrounding they again were very friendly. We would recommend this to people who like to unstress and enjoy hospitality. Patrick and Nathalie, Thnx
Cons: Nothing
7.9 Good
Pros: Clean bathroom and very nice host. Lots of animals around.
Cons: Inside the building was bit dark and needed bit of TLC. But it was an interesting old building.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location in the countryside was super. The room great, nice forniture and enough room for the three of us and the dog. The guest is a lovely person, very kind: he offers us a fresh drink when we arrived, and he manage a very good breakfast even early in the morning.
Cons: The forniture in the garden could be cleaner, but it was a windy day and I know could be difficult.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Patrick, the owner is super friendly and helpful but also discreet. We got the feeling to be at home. The house is very authentic and beautiful. The animal-friendly environment is super nice, many dogs, cat and even a monkey. We were traveling with two pets who were very well welcome. We will be back. Thank you Patrick and family!
Cons: I'm used to a softer mattress but all in one we slept long.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The host was very warm and friendly. He was happy to chat and his hospitality was excellent. We also loved being able to say hello to the hosts dogs!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very welcoming hosts, lovely large very well equipped, room, huge ensuite, had a very good night's sleep. The hosts love animals and were very happy to greet our two cats. Will definitely stay again on our return, so much friendlier than a chain hotel.
Cons: Nothing

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely clean room and facilities, perfect host who laid on a wonderful breakfast, thank you
5.0 Okay
Pros: I stay in 50-60 properties a year so I feel my reviews are fair and reflect how the owners describe their property and facilities. This is a new build with work in progress, not as the name indicates! No Mill [moulin] or any sign of one but it is on Mill Lane to help to locate! So everything is new clean and colourful. Wifi/Internet is excellent and I was given the room I booked with a patio. [This does not always happen!] Lovely and happy delightful lady owner was very pleasant but the male was outspoken, although I was pleased they honoured my booking as I booked for the right day, but the wrong month! Excellent soundproofing and I had a great sleep after walking all day. There is a very good kitchen to use and if you enjoy really bitter coffee you will enjoy,[ but no tea only herbal infusions].
Cons: Breakfast was far from ready after being told 8 am and for the first time ever I was told not to speak! Others arrived but they were not told, but I did as told and remained silent! Breakfast was marginal with bread and jam but if you enjoy bitter coffee this is the best place to be. There is no tea only infusion sachets of herbals so best to bring your own tea as I did. Not all power points work which is a problem if you plug in your smartphone for charging!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The owner was very nice and helpful!
Cons: Difficult to find!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We only needed a place to stay for one night during our road trip, yet we felt so comfortable that we spent another night at this lovely place. We hiked through the nearby national park around the lagoon and visited Carcassonne. The location in beautiful Peyriac-de-Mer is great and our host Sébastien was amazing. We had such funny and interesting conversations with him and other guests at the typical French breakfast that we always left the place too late ;-)
Cons: Nothing, we would love to come back soon!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice host, cosy atmosphere, relaxed breakfast. Thanks Stephan.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect little stop over clean and friendly b&b beautiful village to visit.
Cons: Nothing not to like really a little difficult to find but that's because Google send you down one way streets! The host did send directions tho. Only a small village so not far to get lost.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly host and good room
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Quiet and clean. Good breakfast. Beautiful village and full of character
Cons: I had a long trailer and was informed I could park it at accommodation. Impossible

Pros: Very friendly host. Excellent brand new facilities exceptional breakfast

Le Flamant Rouge Guesthouse - Peyriac-de-Mer - Building

8.5 Excellent (144 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Located in Peyriac-de-Mer, Le Flamant Rouge Guesthouse is in a rural location, a 1-minute drive from Narbonnaise en Méditerranée Natural Regional Park and 7 minutes from Reserve Africaine Sigean.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly hosts and very close to pink Flamingo's viewing area.
Cons: Nowhere open to eat out on a Monday night.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff are so friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and really comfortable. Breakfast was brilliant we sat outside in the little street with the cat
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We had a lovely 2 trip for New Year’s Eve to Peyriac-de-Mer that was made all the more special by staying at Le flamant rouge. We were made to feel very welcome by Johanna who pays attention to all the little details. Best host ever!! The room was stylish and comfortable. The sorrounding countryside is absolutely beautiful. We will be back xxx
Cons: There was nothing we didn’t like!!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: lovely house with a lovely host and fab location
Cons: next time we'll book the room with a bathroom
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything!!Beautiful place!!!Owner Johanna really nice and helpful!Brilliant breakfast!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Lovely decor and details. Everything you need or want is there. Host is friendly and easy going. Great breakfast, great location. Would definitely return.
Cons: Nothing. It’s great. We came in winter so we had the place to ourselves. If the house is full you may have to use the bathroom downstairs. I would ask about this in case you need the bathroom to be closer. But no complaints about anything.
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: The land lady does not really care about her guests. We tried to call before arriving to the hotel 4 times to check facilities for our little girls and she never answered the phone. Once arrived, we forgot the keys in the guesthouse and we called back again no answer and no call back, despite messages on answering machine. We have been locked out for the entire afternoon. Once we met her, she told us she did not hear because she was at the beach. This is minimum costumer service level which is not assured.
Cons: The lack of care you would expect in a guest house. On top the level cleanliness is low and the room smells of humidity... The village though is lovely
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The property is very characterful and charming. Many of the details tell how old the house is. (Doors, window latches, etc)
Cons: It’s an old house so it’s natural that sound travels quite easily so late at night it’s easy to hear other guests if they’re talking/entering the house
9.6 Excellent
Pros: I liked warm, welcoming staff of the Guesthouse, their delicious breakfasts and the whole artistic and ususual atmospehre of this place! It's rather magical. Well done.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Quick check in. Very helpful hotel staff.
Cons: No restaurant but short walk to local places. Monday out of season, everything closed. Short drive to seaside restaurant. Parking is in a barn next to the hotel. Cramped and difficult with more than 3 or 4 cars.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very inviting staff and clean facility!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Service was excellent. Staff very frienly. Food in their restaurant ”le 41” is fantastic. We ate the ”menu of the day” and it was best I have tasted in years.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Easy to find great private parking owner was very helpful and room was pleasant. Only issue for us the bed was a small double and very uncomfortable but we are 2 tall persons and the bed would suit small or just one person. Excellent breakfast and good restaurant s in the village
Cons: Small double bed not very comfortable
10.0 Excellent
Pros: From the warm welcome to the excellent service at dinner, you feel like part of the family. The rooms are spacious, with basic cooking facilities, but you don't need to bother with that because the restaurant offers excellent fare. The secluded courtyard is a great place to relax with a book. The host is enthusiastic about the region and offers tips about where to visit. Dinner was a highlight, with attentive service and great food.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: good location, friendly receptionist, small gym
Cons: Bed / pillows not very comfortable but that’s a matter of personal preferences
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff were helpful in giving advice about things to do and see in the town. The room was very spacious and comfortable.
Cons: Everything was clean, spacious and in good order, but the hotel itself did not have the luxurious atmosphere that we expected, based on the photos we had seen online. Atmosphere in the hall and at the reception could be made more classy.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was really good with waiter service on the cooked food. We ate in a beautiful back yard which was quiet and so peaceful. Staff was very helpful and service minded.
Cons: Two of the bed side lights did not work and the lamps wasn't properly stuck to the wall. The hotel is in no way low budget apart from the lighting, if it hadn't been for that I would have given this accommodation the highest rating.

Pros: Attention to detail quite outstanding Very welcoming hosts whose standards were impeccable We shall not be strangers to their property
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location lovely room and en suite, fantastic breakfast, nice hosts
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Shquiperia offers 4 clean and comfortable rooms - three by the attractive and very clean pool at the rear of the property and a one bedroomed gite with self catering facilities in an annexe at the front of the house. Breakfast is served in the main house. We stayed in the gite and enjoyed a comfortable bed; an excellent and powerful shower and a well equipped kitchen. For a small extra fee, we were able to use the sofa bed in the sitting area of the gite for a brief visit by a friend from Spain and we appreciated the flexibility and helpfulness of our hosts Charles and Eduart. They were kind and welcoming throughout. The breakfast was generous and featured cereals, fresh bread and croissants and a range of tasty jams that were home-made by Charles himself. Parking was easy - with plenty of space at the front of the house. There are a couple of bars and restaurants in the centre of Sigean about 10 minutes walk away. La Cave de Theo is a good restaurant there and Le Bar En Face, on the right side of the road as you walk in to town, is friendly and has the cleanest toilets etc.
Cons: There was some traffic noise at the front of property especially between 8am and 8pm. I understand the rooms at the rear of the house are much quieter. Sigean itself is not particularly interesting and may not be the best location for everyone - though it makes a good base for visiting the nearby wildlife park (African Reserve) and exploring the local nature reserves/lagoons/Etangs. You can also catch a train from nearby Port La Nouvelle to Narbonne or Perpignan.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful apartment, very clean and modern, great pool, staff were friendly. Good location to explore the area. Only stayed for 2 days, a stopover on the way to Spain.
Cons: Would have liked a little more privacy.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The fridge.Every room, regardless of location should have one.Great room right beside the pool.Excellent selection for a continental breakfast.Very secure car parking. Walking distance to the town and supermarkets.
Cons: I booked this because it was pet free.It was not, their was a dog in the breakfast room.I am allergic to pets.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great hosts, very clean and comfortable room, wonderful home made jams for breakfast.
Cons: All good

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners are so lovely and welcoming. The breakfast was amazing - so much food! Lovely quirky decor in a traditional old French maison. We visited Leucate Plage which was a really nice chilled beach, and not so busy even though it was August! You can rent sunbeds and umbrellas if you call a day in advance (we didn’t know beforehand unfortunately).
Cons: A very small issue for us was that the bedrooms were totally open on the mezzanine which didn’t offer any privacy, but it was so lovely we were fine with it.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Quirky decor, very pleasing. Lovely breakfast, lots of choice. The staff were very helpful, and our host spoke English. Very clean. Good location.
Cons: The shower. Quite small with a big shower curtain. It's personal, but I hate shower curtains! The bathroom itself was fine.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very good host, really attentive. Good value
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and supportive owner. Fantastic local breakfast on French style. Free parking.
Cons: People start to be active from 5.00 in the morning. The church bell is something crazy.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great location in the centre of the village. Charming old building. Delicious and abundant breakfast (excellent jam). Very friendly hosts. Enjoyed the morning chats.
Cons: Our shower was a bit temperamental. The front door lock was too high up for everyone in my party except me.
10.0 Excellent

9.2 Excellent
Pros: The owner/hostess was friendly and welcoming, she was very informal and allowed us to feel at home despite the language difference. The room was wonderful, huge, with a lovely view and the bed was extremely comfortable. The evening meal was very good, which was shared around a large table in the garden with other guests, we had a very sociable evening. There was a nice little swimming pool with pool chairs around, The continental breakfast was good, plenty of everything, with good coffee. Good free parking in courtyard.
Cons: Nothing, it was all good and as expected

Pros: This is a lovely B&B; very comfortable, spotlessly clean, and with a small but fun pool in the garden which our kids really enjoyed. The beds were comfortable, and bathrooms were very modern and stylish. There is air conditioning in the bedrooms. The breakfasts were delicious, particularly the wide selection of home made jams. Our host was friendly and helpful, and gave us great advice on nice places to eat, and good beaches to visit. Highly recommended.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Cozy place, very nice room, free parking, good price. Close to the safari park and the sea (by car).
6.0 Good
Pros: I stay in 50-60 properties a year, so I feel my reviews are fair and reflect others what I bought. The property I feel is a converted barn with huge original beams & inside it is amazing with a lot of fascinating art and so much thought has gone into the decoration, the owners are congratulated. The wifi/internet connection was excellent. It is quite as long as nobody was talking [or having a row as when I stayed!] in the open lounge that my room looked onto as it feels as they are in your room! My room was not the one I booked but had a fascinating collection of artefacts and a high standard of workmanship, but disappointing as I would never book a room without a window to see out of, Excellent coffee and breakfast that was superbly presented with a lovely selection of high-quality food.
Cons: I was not given the room I booked. There was no window to look out of only a skylight out of reach and the low beams at less than 5 feet made movement a problem especially remembering to duck in the night to go to the WC. I never book loft rooms and search again for a different property but was so tired on arrival, I did not contest my loft room. No bedside lights to read by but that was resolved by moving tall standard lights. I had to ask for the heating to be but on as there was no heating at 6 pm on a windy cold February day! Unfortunately, it soon went off as the thermostat is in the lounge, but eventually came back on when the lounge cooled...But Hey! A fabulous interesting place to stay!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Didn't like sleeping in the attic. Low ceilings for bed and toilet. No window only velux.
Cons: Lovely host. Beautiful home.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! It is a beautiful house and garden. It was cool and pleasant on one of the hottest days of the year. The artwork and other decoration were superb. It is close to the beach and the nature reserve (we saw flamingos). It was easy to find and park. All communication with the owner was clear. The bedroom was very comfortable. A delicious breakfast was served outside. The owner was friendly and efficient with huge attention to detail.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Modern and clean facilities.
Cons: To bring the bags up to the top of the house, while no elevator...... Wc is private but with not door......
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful rooms, fantastic host.

Cons: No airco and basic breakfast
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Spacious and comfortable. Malika was very helpful and recommended a good place to eat.
Cons: It would have been useful if the fridge in the kitchen had been on so we could have had cool drinks in the very hot weather, although we had paid for the several roomed apartment as it was the only accommodation available.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The host was so welcoming and helpful. The house was beautiful. Our accommodation was so spacious and well equipped with lovely furnishings and a calm quiet atmosphere but right in the centre of the village with a wonderful restaurant and a bar very close by.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Booked last minute from the road without knowing anything about the area or property. We were amazed by the spacious, airy, stylish apartment. Marika made us a reservation at one of the town's only restaurants that night, showed us her adjoining private garden and home (a total renovation within the historic building), told us about the village and was overall so warm and friendly. The town is lovely and we really wished we could have stayed longer.

Pros: We had the entire floor to ourselves. Wonderful staff and freebies for the little ones on our check out.
