With its iconic food cart gatherings, anti-establishment murals and even a doughnut shop that performs weddings, it's no wonder the mantra of this town is “Keep Portland Weird.” And right in the heart of it all you’ll find Hotel Rose, a funky, fun and “oh-so-Portland” boutique hotel located directly across from Tom McCall Waterfront Park on the beautiful Willamette River. From shopping to dining to outdoor recreation, there’s no better home base for exploring the odd, the exquisite and the just plain outrageous. Welcome to Hotel Rose Portland.
Please Note: In April and May 2015 we'll be making a few improvements to the exterior of our building. We’ve worked with our renovation partners to ensure as little disturbance to your stay as possible, though there may be some intermittent noise during the day time. We thank you for your understanding while we spruce ourselves up!
The location is great, add parking is free!.
The rooms were too hot as they only have central air, and they can only have either heat or air conditioning on at any given time. My room faced the highway and the train tracks, so it was quite loud. They did however provide earplugs. But because my room is so hot, I had to sleep with the windows open, and unfortunately both of the screens on my windows were so severely torn they were worthless. I informed the staff about the screens and the next day they were still torn when I returned. I called the manager and he immediately came up and fix the screens for me and offered me an upgrade to a suite. So overall not that bad!
The location and prices were fair with good access to the running path
I thought the comforters were a little too warm, it would be nice to have something a little lighter
The blankets on the beds are awful and the elevator keys don't always work.
Location, quiet, good staff.
I liked the plush sheets and cute dog on my bed when I walked in. Very comfortable bed. Also liked dispensers for toiletries instead of tiny bottles because I didn't have to worry about running out!
Thermostat is pretty much decoration only - I was FREEZING in my room on cold nights. I would turn it up to 71 or so and could hear it struggling to turn on, but never saw the temp get above around 61. Luckily the covers were very warm on the bed, but did not enjoy dressing or working in a cold room.
The room was small. It had no hot water. Parking was horrible.
From the time we got to the hotel, everyone was helpful and friendly. We thought we were getting a water view room with 2 beds. When it wasn't that, the front desk quickly changed us to rooms we requested. The rooms were clean and the bed was very comfortable. I didn't even wake up until 9 a.m., which is highly unusual for me. I'll stay there again and highly recommend it.
The hotel was clean, cozy and the location is within walking distance to all the downtown shops and festivities. The staff is friendly and accommodating.
The hotel exudes a feeling of being in a shrunken environment. From the elevator to the hallways to the room itself, it just felt a little too small.
Great location . Perfect for festivals along the waterfront. Staff are exceptionally helpful. Wonderful place to stay.
No microwave in room.
great location across the street from the bridge, and in the middle of downtown, where a lot of restaurants are walking distance. Staff was friendly and answered specific questions, valet was helpful with directions...
the fumes from the construction wafted into the building and it was difficult to rest in the middle of the day. attendant that checked us was not so helpful in answering questions regarding the complementary bikes, the valet attendant was there half of the time, and there were 2 days the staff did not clean the room, no bath- only standing shower, small rooms.
Not able to control HVAC and street + trains outside are loud.
Lots of extra perks
