It's location near san Francisco The Spa should be renewed and the rooms could use some refreshment as well.
Close to Stanford where my daughters is in the hospital. It's just ok. Pretty much a slightly better motel 6. Cheap and clean. That's it. Breakfast was ok. Not great.
The room has quit some space and good facilities. The breakfast is poor, as a matter of fact it isn't a breakfast at all.
Clean, well furnished, and good mattress.
We arrived Saturday and the male in the front office his was ahn I believe really nice gave us an option up top floor or bottom explained everything in detail about or stay offered us 3 keys and said if we lost one to just come up and he will make a new one for with no problem. The breakfast was more then I expected, I figured bagels and cereals with pastures they had eggs sausages tater tots a waffle make fruit yogurt bagel and feral plus ok apple juice milk hot chocolate and coffee blew my expectation. We are there every morning before we left. Thank you for a great stay. Btw if in town for the niner game this place is literally one road up to the stadium
The hotel is well located on a beach and has large suite rooms with a fire. The continental breakfast is disappointing and staged in the reception area as there is no breakfast room. Plenty of good retsaurants close. Well situated just south of San Francisco, ideal for touring around. Can reccomend but found it very pricey, especially at the weekend. Breakfast arrangements.
It's charming The bath tub had a scum ring in it, we soldiered thru the first shower but felt icky the rest of the stay. the water was not hot enough and the fact that they didn't have Fox News Channel on TV made a political statement that I didn't pay to receive.
Great location. Love the breakfast in the AM. Polite and helpful staff. Nice amenities and atmosphere. On the expensive side.
Extremely clean and welcoming! The room service robot made my stay worth it. Everything was great.
Beds were super comfortable. The place was clean. Presented with contemporary features and furnishings. Check in/out was quick and painless. Efforts were made to stay as green as possible.the staff was super helpful and available for anything we needed. Nothing to report here.
Loved the styling of the room and its amenities
It was great! My boyfriend and I were travelling and needed a nice place to stay but didn't want to break the bank. This was a great choice. Such a highly rated hotel, and yet for less than $200 a night. I will definitely come again next time we are back in the area. One of the few downsides was our room placement. It was at the bottom floor and so you could see the cars parked right outside your window. A bit annoying when you're trying to have some privacy, but I just pulled the curtains down. Also our booking was pretty last-minute so I can't complain about where we were put. The other downside was that our lamps were unplugged when we came in, so we were confused as to why the lights weren't working, the floor lamp shade was crooked and bent as well. These are just minor aesthetic downsides however. Our stay was great overall and the style of the hotel in general is very modern and I loved it.
Very comfortable and luxorious look to the hotel. Enjoyed my stay very much. The hotel did not find my reservation but they were able to accomodate me.
Comfortable rooms, friendly staff, reasonable price Hotel location
My family has stayed at this location on several occasions. It's a great central location for the bay area. Very relaxing, modern, accommodating and friendly. I always look forward to a weekend at the Aloft:)
There were several minor maintenance items such as worn painted surfaces and light fixtures that needed attention but not enough to affect my stay which overall was great.
Loved the staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms were perfect for the amount spent. Very relaxing environment and easy to get to from the airport.
fashion design. final bill (invoice) let me confused because they charged the deposirt, but after their GM explained, that's ok
Good location in a quiet setting. A nice place to stay for a few days
Affordable with daily breakfast. Quiet. The breakfast is just ok and what you might expect.
Spacious room, comfortable bed, 5 pillows (soft and firm), coffee maker, fridge and microwave, clean, the breakfast was good, the staff very nice and professional. I would definitively go again... The only minus for me is that it is too close to the main road, but it wasn't really inconvenient as I couldn't hear the traffic from the room.
Extremely helpful and friendly staff; super comfortable bed. Great value for the money,
Beautiful hotel with a good location close to the airport. Very comfortable. We had requested non feather comforter and pillows. They hadn't done this but sent an employee to change this immediately after we checked in. That was impressive!
Hotel has a beautiful view of the bay, great bar and lounge area, staff was very friendly, parking is free and have a valet if needed. We only had breakfast and was more than adequate, a bit pricey. They have plenty of computers to use in the lobby for free and printers to access internet. No need for a laptop if you are not going to access files.
the restaurant had good food, and also good service. doormen were very pleasant and polite. cannot answer this question without getting into my complaints
Was a nice hotel free easy parking They started re-modeling work in the room next to me on Sunday morning, very disruptive. Breakfast also very disapointing
ease of access and location; comfortable pricey amenities and must drive to do anything not at the hotel
comfortable and clean rooms. I was next to a service elevator and needed to change my room after I was all settled in for the night. I also asked for some toiletries and never received it
overall personal was very friendly and helpful
A beautiful location. Close to Stanford University, yet away from the conjestion. Somewhat taken aback that free coffee is not offered to guests.
It was lovely very classy and posh. very reasonable price, handy for airport. The room was spot on.
Very nice rooms. King Suite was awesome. Big bathroom. Plenty of room for in town guests. Nothing to dislike about this place.... Coming back next time.
The view of the harbor and walking distance to dining were good. The hotel sits on a busy street not shown in the marketing photos. Rooms in the older building do not have a deck/patio.
The hotel is lovely and the proximity to restaurants and walking and stand up paddleboarding was exactly why I love it. The room is large and the bed comfortable! The main hotel is lovely, but the INN rooms are not to my liking. They are smaller and not nearly as nice as the RESORT rooms.
View was great! No central heat. They had a portable heater system in the cottage that was very loud. No way you would be able to sleep. The bathroom was very cold. The wiring for the switches seems to be reversed in the bathroom.
Friendliness and helpfullness of front desk. Housekeeping did not show up 2 of 4 days, even with complaints. I notified them that I would be out of the room from 6am until noon while I had dialysis and would need to sleep all Wednesday and Friday afternoons. No action, not even clean towels!
Nice failities Needs a hot tub/pool
I liked the staff at the hotel. The staff were helpful and accomodating. Never is there an issue while staying at this hotel. The hotel seems old and not all rooms are quite up to date in regards to being a true Doubletree hotel.
The bed was comfy There was black dirt and grime in the shower. They were not apologetic when I called. They said they would send housekeeping. Housekeeping never arrived.
Nice and clean room polite staff No free breakfast
I like the staff at the hotel as well as the accommodations. The hotel in general seems to be a bit on the older side and wasn't as modern as some of the other Double Tree hotels I have stayed at. The facilities need updating
No mini refrigerator in the room and no vent in the bathrooms.
There was a live band playing in the lounge until 1 am. There was no physical buffer (walls separating the open air of lobby and lounge from where the rooms are located) between our room and the music other than our thin door. The music was deafening inside our room and kept us and our baby awake until it stopped at 1 am. Having to be up at 5:30 the next morning for the purpose of our trip was miserable on 4.5 hours of sleep.
The location was were we wanted to be. The first bed we had was hard. They did upgrade us to a better room and bed. The TV in both rooms did not work properly. Because of the low number of guests, the 'Breakfast' was skimpy and the coffee was poor.
The hotel does exhibit some age, but is well kept, located near family we are visiting, clean, staffing always very accommodating, parking is covered. The daily breakfast is excellent, represents a great value, eliminating the need to go off site. No complaints
I live in the area, but just needed to get out of the house and find a quite place to study with reliable internet access. This place was PERFECT! Beautiful/simple courtyard made it feel more like a working vacation. There is a wine shop up the road that has a great selection and the friendliest staff. Check it out while you're here.
The bed was uncomfortable, my back was killing me when I woke up.
Great place to stay while we visited family. It provided a quiet retreat, with a comfortable bed, sofa, desk, and a luxurious shower. Friendly staff, free parking, and cool style rounded out our experience. Nothing.
The whole idea of a business type of hotel room, plenty of outlets to plug my devices. Minimalist and modern with just the right ambience for comfort when it's time to sleep. That we were not able to stay longer because at the time the Hotel was booked for the week.
The room and the hotel overall The loud music at the reception... It was a litto disturbing to check-in and talking to the teceptionist while the music was playing
Great location and amazing hotel. The amenities were good as well. The rio was a nice size and I had a view of Levi Stadium. When I came back to the hotel at about 11pm there were no parking places. I believe outsiders were at the bar or guests had their friends visiting. When you are paying for a hotel room it's annoying not being able to park in the parking lot.
Helpful and friendly staff who keep up with the demands and requests of the guest. Also, a very quiet and clean space that allowed us to get our rest.
Andy the concierge took care of us like an old friend.
Clean. Comfortable beds. Great shower. Friendly helpful staff.
It's a good hotel with all the facilities you need, conveniently positioned across the road from the Hyatt convention center. No free WiFi, which for the price of the room, I would have expected.
The restaurant had very high quality food for the price and the bar was elegant and very accessible. Need to have FREE wifi in the rooms! This is 2015 AND the hotel is in the heart of silicone valley. For shame! Hilton
Everything was great Everything was good all people there are helpful
The rooms are huge and spacious! The staff was all friendly and helpful. The complimentary breakfast, and evening wine and cheese are simplistic but nice touch. The location is great right on Main Street about a 20 min walk to beach. The rooms could use a bit more cleaning. They weren't dirty but the stains on carpet, bugs and cobwebs around the outside doors and windows make it slightly less appealing.
great location, clean room, nice bathroom Most uncomfortable beds ever
Very nice and friendly staff. They even gave us an upgrade which was a pleasant surprise. The room was very clean and spacious.
Beautiful grounds, large rooms, quiet, good value for the money Although in good condition, the facility is dated
Beautiful setting and gardens. Two highly-rated restaurants on premises. Heated pool and lovely pool setting. Friendly staff; immediate response to requests. Spacious room; useful mini-kitchen with prep counter, sink, refrigerator, and utensils. Comfortable bed. Ample room lighting. Convenient work desk and sitting table in room. Mix of contemporary and baroque furnishings is odd. No microwave in room. No hot tub/jacuzzi at pool. No fresh (refrigerated) half-and-half available for the coffee in the lobby.
Everything was great. Especially liked the staff - very helpful. The Deluxe room was big with two queen beds. Our room in the back of the property had a flat screen tv. Dinah's had character, and the grounds are beautiful.
The staff were helpful and upgraded us to one of the suites. The rooms were old fashioned and we had an exercise bike in our room
The staff were very helpful and the room immaculate.
Needed two rooms and got a good pre-pay rate. Short stay but comfortable. Very good breakfast on site.
Great room, price, and service! N/A
Stay is pretty nice overall. Breakfast is not really that impressive. It's okay but could be better.
They had free hot chocolate and candy canes for Christmas and gave everyone a stocking. I found a band aid in the shower
Nothing in particular. It was fairly ok....
It was very clean and comfortable
Traffic-favorably situated hotel, clean room, very friendly staff. The "Castro", a street with dozens of restaurants, bars, coffeeshops etc. just a walk away. Ideal starting point to explore the surrounding cities.
The room was big and it looks like they take care of their rooms Everything was perfect for one night
I like the location, it is near the castro street, makes us easy to get food and other things. The room facility is complete also and the room is clean. Better to change the lotion with the better fragrance and add HBO in the TV schedule.
Simple and comfortable Lack of hotel staff attentiveness. Breakfast was never ready at the time advertised.
Convinient Location for my business
I checked in at 6pm and it took 15 minutes before someone came to the desk. Advertised a continental breakfast which included coffee and juice only.
Nice beds - All the usual stuff you get with a Sheraton. Nice pool. Great chill out area around the pool. I got a room overlooking the railway. I was told the trains stopped at 11pm - They don'T. Still, good sound proffing helps. You can also hear the other rooms bathroom activities. Alo be aware of the $10 a day parking charge. Crazy as the people who visited me got a stamp from the hotel and paid nothing!
Thank you for the free Wi-Fi since I was only staying one night. That helped me prepare for my interview day in Palo Alto. I also appreciated being on the top floor so it was quiet and easy to fall asleep. Thanks to the check-out staff for the complimentary bottled water; it helped me arrive at my interview alert and with a clear voice.
Comfort and Location. Someone to carry my luggage, and need to pay room internet.
Upon checking out, I had to leave my luggage with the bellperson until I was ready to leave the hotel. It was very easy and accessible to obtain my luggage; and get in my car and leave. The lighting in room 3015 was not good in the bathroom. I recommend more lighting. The room had a slight odor that reminded me of dirty socks. I didn't ask for another room because I was already in my pj's ready for bed. It would have been a real hassle; I just went to sleep to forget about it. They also need to provide coffee that is not so strong other than Starbucks; possibly a columbian mild coffee in the room. Starbucks is all they serve in the hotel.
cleanness and room service some rooms too noisy
all was wonderful.
Early checking was great. Good bed. Good shower. Close to transport and shopping! Very noisy rooms. You can hear every toilet flush, shower and tap in all rooms above, below and beside yours! Not great when trying to sleep.
close vicinity to downtown Palo Alto and friendly staff. Not many other full service hotels around that are sub-$300. loud heaters, weird/dated setup of rooms, loud CalTrain station directly behind hotel.
The surrounding and pool were amazing. Shower in the room was the best after a long night. Do not get room service, food was burnt and not good and extremely expensive.
We liked : Vicinity to the University, the clean room, the prompt service when we asked for an additional towel. We didn't liked the breakfast at the hotel. The coffee was "cold" at every refill. The menu "a la carte" was poor and way too expensive!
Bed was very comfortable. Bathrooms need remodeling. The cost per night is ridiculous. The TV reception often disappeared for a few moments. The train noise was still quite loud even with the double windows.
Large room, nice bed. Low water pressure, not value for money. Old facilities, currently undeconstruction for remodeling.
Nice room at an excellent rate Paid more for other places in the vicinity that were not nearly as nice as the Zen
Excellent coffee at breakfast & great value for money!
During my stay at the Zen I enjoyed the large flat screen TV, the firm comfortable bed and the convienant front door parking. I accidentally kicked the wood corner of the bed frame and left with a large black and blue bruise above my ankle. Following day, my boyfriend kicked it too! That characteristic of the bed might lead to others getting hurt too.
clean and large rooms, converted from motel. slightly noisy rooms facing El Camino
Room was very nice, well designed and attractive. Loved the coffee beans and grinder for coffee in the morning (in room). Only negative is that the exterior wasn't quite what one would expect with the name Zen Hotel. It isn't bad but the building is old and doesn't have the Asian feel that we expected.
The staff are very nice and helpful. The rooms are nicely furbished and very clean.
Clean, good breakfast, very helpful staff
Friendliness of the staff, cleanliness of the room. We were there as it is close to the hospital where we're receiving treatment. Staff was very accommodating, letting us checkout a little later. Would return if don't plan to stay in the room for long. Value for money. Refrigerator and AC/heat was noisy when they come on, thin walls where we could hear people walking above us and neighbors talking at a normal conversation level.
Everything Pillows were too small and lumpy.
We have stayed here before and we enjoy the quiet, privacy, comfort, cleanliness and professional staffs assistance. We choose it as it is close to family living in the area. The pool area is small and typical for a small motel.
Free upgrade to a Jr. Suite-Free breakfast. Quiet, good internet service No complients
Clean, friendly staff, good breakfast. In walking distance of many convenient stores. Quite neighborhood. Elevator was very slow
Free WI-FI, computers, parking Credit card was charged befor check in
Thank you for checjing on us at our arrival.
It was quiet. Breakfast on weekends does not open until 8am. That is no acceptable. The shower was almost a dribble to get even warm. When i stated that 8am was not acceptable for breakfast, the check in employee certainly did not care, that's the way it is.
