10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners, their kids and the staff made a special place that much better.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Sustainable tourism at it's best.. Lovely place, lovely owners and great birding around the property.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: I loved the bathrooms they are very unique and the owners are very friendly .
Cons: That we had doctor flies in the room because the room was not all screened .
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Garden jungle like setting, casual comfort, wildlife/birds, gracious hosts, good food and quiet lazy tenor, nice outdoor rockery shower quaint but functional, just loved the wide veranda of the guest lodge with tables/chairs/hammocks etc..spent hours just lounging in green paradise!
Cons: Ingress road was rough but about standard for southern Belize rural dirt road, I like firm but beds & pillows were hard though I understand that this also means cool in hot weather,
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The family at sun creek lodge are great people. Thomas makes some of the best cacao bars! They are quick to help you book tours and all the food provide was fresh and delicious. The land and the buildings are beautiful. They have outdoor showers which is wonderful.
Cons: Our bed springs were pretty pokey. That would be my only complaint, everything else was perfect.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: excellent location. very close to all the sites however you definitely need a vehicle to get around southern Belize. Breakfast was very delicious. We had some handmade soft flour tortillas with scrambled eggs, butter and jellies. Host was kind enough to pack our tortillas with some extra butter and jellie for our 8 year old daughter for the road. Veeeerrry eco friendly place for those nature lovers. we had an awesome experience.
Cons: well I wished the water for the shower was a bit warm because the natural tap water was really cold for us. but remember the theme for this place is eco sustainability so if you like air condition, tv, lights and expecting a room with refrigerator and microwave this is not the place for you. However we were celebrating our daughter's birthday so a room where we got to interact was just what we needed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We enjoyed our stay very much. Thomas and Marissa are excellent hosts and their kids are very sweet. We enjoyed the peaceful mornings laying in the hammock on our porch drinking coffee and looked forward to Rosa's delicious breakfast! The property is beautiful and the outdoor shower is amazing. Highly Recommend :)

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Unbelievably beautiful property and location. It is definitely a luxury rainforest resort.
Cons: It’s in the middle of nowhere, so once there your pretty confined to their property and activities. Perfect place if you want to unplug and explore nature, but not ideal if you want to experience the people.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolute best hotel in southern Belize. Great food, great coffee, great location.
Cons: Some porch lights were so bright I was tempted to remove the bulbs to sleep. Bathroom doors wouldn’t shut in both rooms we stayed in.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were beautiful, staff was extremely helpful and kind and the restaurant/lounge was gorgeous. The grounds are also beautiful with farmland at the entrance and howler monkeys in the trees around the hotel. Pool was nice and there were several trips each day you can take advantage of. Fishing was particularly fun.
Cons: The internet only really works in the hotel lobby itself, goes in and out in the rooms. I believe the time of year played a part in this - storms at night were massive so the power kept going in and out. The staff was as accommodating as they could be, but if this is important (I had work to get done, unfortunately) this should be considered.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the philosophy of sustainability, loved that the menu changes everyday, the seclusion, the staff, no TV’s and property overall, beautiful property. We stayed in the family villa there was 5 of us and it was very comfortable it had everything we needed including a full size kitchen
Cons: That there was no courtesy shuttle to and from the airport or into town we were charged every time
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. The atmosphere, the rooms, the whole resort was a great experience. Love that we were greeted upon arrival!
Cons: Loved everything. Could do with a mini fridge in the rooms though!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everyone at Copal Tree was genuinely friendly and helpful. The food was excellent! Beautiful property.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The food was amazing and fresh and healthy. The bartender was great. The entire staff was wonderful and took time to visit with us about their culture and upbringing. A lovely treat! We will be back!!
Cons: Nothing could have been better except if we had been able to see a howler monkey. We heard them, but never saw them.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed four nights at Hickatee Cottages and it was the highlight of our trip to Belize. Owners Alison and Eduardo are so lovely and accommodating, and their cooking was delicious. Everything is made fresh in-house, including their bread, muffins, and tortilla chips, always served warm out of the oven. They even brought us french press coffee to our room each morning—such a great way to start the day. Our cottage was cozy and nicely decorated. Set in an Edenic tropical garden in the middle of the jungle, you really feel immersed with nature, with butterflies, birds, and fireflies flitting about. The Toledo District is also such an interesting, less-travelled part of Belize. We visited Mayan villages, learned to make chocolate at a cacao farm, and went on some beautiful jungle hikes. Alison and Eduardo also host a free Garifuna drumming night on Wednesdays which was wonderful. Heaven!
Cons: No complaints!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location is great! Very quiet and relaxing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing place in the middle of the jungle. Super friendly and knowledgeable stuff.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice setting, Allison was very helpful and the staff were very polite.
7.1 Good
Pros: The decor was beautiful and the cottage was very roomy. The staff was excellent.
Cons: I paid as much for this place as I did for resorts and could not use any heat related products (curling iron, blow dryer & coffee pot). I was not aware of this rule until I arrived. The road to get there is very rough & there are piles of trash on the sides of the road. This road is public, but the drive to get to the cottage is trashy
9.6 Excellent
Pros: A wonderfully relaxing place, great attention to detail, delicious home cooked food, kind and attentive service - we couldn’t recommend Hickatee Cottages highly enough - a hidden gem in Punta Gorda
Cons: Not much
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The warm welcome and attentiveness to our comfort was wonderful. Fresh pressed coffee brought to our veranda in the morning was a great touch! Eduardo and Allison are amazing, helpful hosts.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed for six nights and biked the 2.5 km into Punta Gorda most days. The property is lovely, clean and well maintained. Loved having French press coffee on our verandah every morning, enjoying the tropical view. Breakfast was continental with fresh fruit, breads, jams, juice and coffee. Dinners were excellent! enjoyed the Wednesday night Garifuna drumming lesson and the Thursday trip to the butterfly farm.

Pros: Very helpful and friendly staff.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: excellent location in the center of Punta Gorda Town however staying in PG on a whole is not the best option for activities such as water falls and maya ruins. but if you are crashing for a night or more to carry on to livingston or puerto barrios, Saint Charles inn is excellent. CLEAN, CLEAN, CONVENIENT, COMFORTABLE. Best value for money.
Cons: no parking. you would need to park on the street.
6.3 Good
Pros: The bed was very comfortable
Cons: I stayed for one night on a strong recommendation from a traveler. The room was too small for the value The registration process was not smooth. I had reserved two separate nights, planning to return. I ended up.cancelling the 2nd night and going back to a hotel I'd stayed at before that was cheaper with better rooms, and had a restaurant.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: My wife and I had a fantastic experience at The Lodge at Big Falls. Rob and his wonderful staff treated us with tremendous hospitality. Our cabin accommodations were clean, spacious and comfortable. The meal service at the main facility and bar was wonderful. We had several meals there and enjoyed the delightful service from the staff. The food was tasty and well-prepared. This is a wonderful little hideaway in the Toledo District, just a short drive from Punta Gorda. Great for a few overnights or for a more lengthy retreat. The accommodations are wonderful and the grounds and facility top notch! Rob and his wonderful staff are delightful and do everything they can to make you feel at home and appreciated.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was great.
Cons: limited dinner selection
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful pool and grounds. Lovely, comfortable cabana. Rob, the owner, lives on site and was there to greet us on arrival and at dinner. Was happy to recommend local activities but we only had a 1 night stay with a chocolate tour already booked for the next day.
Cons: Nothing - it is in a beautiful setting with a beautiful pool! The food and drink were pricier than other places we stayed ($80BZD for set 3 course meal and $7 per Belikin beer compared with $52BZD for set 4 courses and $4.50 beer at Black Rock Lodge)

3.8 Mediocre
Cons: I booked this room for a close friend. When she arrived, the room had no soap, no toilet paper, no hot water. Staff was indifferent to her requests to correct the problems. Fortunately, she has family in town so she spent as little time as possible at the "hotel".
9.6 Excellent
Pros: I was ill when we arrived and the host made me a homemade remedy. Thank you! Our room had it's own kitchen which was great.
Cons: All good.
6.7 Good

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was great recommended
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good location. 10 minute walk to central square. Rugged but clean.
Cons: Noisy dogs at night.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great value, nice bedroom with comfortable bed and authentic wood furniture, great wifi, ac works great, nice patio/deck area with chairs and hammock, cool art gallery and sculptures from Dr. Palacio below and around the property. Excellent hot water.
Cons: It's nice to have a kitchen but it definitely could use a little upgrade, but for the price you can't complain too much. Also the window is broken in the bedroom and so you really can't close all the way and there were some dogs around that barked quite a few times throughout the night, which effected my sleep. It would be nice to get those fixed.
7.5 Good
Pros: No breakfast included. Owners very pleasant and accommodating. I had a friend stay and there was an extra bed with linen in the room.
Cons: Everything was fine. Close to shops and the sea.

Cons: Three floors up to get the apartment, steep stairs, very hard to get to room.
6.3 Good
Pros: The staff was friendly and the t.v. had lots of channels.
Cons: I was initially in an apt.in the back building. There was no power in the apt.so I was changed to the apt.next door. There was no hot water the next morning and the wifi was too weak. I changed to a room by reception. WiFi was good but still no hot water. A general warning - Punta Gorda is not touristy. It's a poor and dirty town with very few restaurants. The attractions require taking a bus or having a car. The hotel was adequate. The room in ended up in was not serviced over the two nights I was there, even though it was also over xmas.
7.1 Good
Pros: Restaurant employees were very kind. Very friendly
Cons: Sea front inn needs a makeover it’s old I see there doing upgrades but the room we were in. Has things broken needs updating Loved the sea view Has cockroaches in room
