Maji Lodge - Matemwe - Building

9.7 Excellent (89 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Located in Matemwe, within 6 km of Dive Spot and 7 km of Mnemba Island, Maji Lodge provides a private beach area. 8 km from Muyuni Beach, the guest house features water sports facilities and barbecue facilities. The property offers a shared lounge. At the guest house, each room is fitted with a wardrobe. With a private bathroom fitted with a shower, rooms at Maji Lodge also have free WiFi, while certain rooms are equipped with a terrace. A continental breakfast is served every morning at the property.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This place is in a category of its own. It is a beach house with only 4 rooms so you almost feel like you are in your own place even when renting only a room. The garden is beautiful and well maintained like the rest of the house. Freshly prepared breakfast is served in the garden each morning and for lunch and dinner there are some decent options only a short walk on the beach, shortest being a new local place with decent food just beside the property. In the kitchen you can help yourself with a cold beer, wine or some snacks in the any time of day or night. The area is very safe and has somewhat classy feel with all the private villas on the beach. It does not feel overbuilt like some other places on Zanzibar and it would be a shame for that to change in the future. I must mention the people taking care of the guests and the house. Everyone was absolutely wonderful and were making us sincerely welcome. We felt like everyone is giving us extra attention but in a very non obtrusive kind of way. We liked the place and the relaxed vibe of the beach in front so much that we came back after spending one night in Kendwa.
Cons: Everything was great!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. The staff was very kind and helpful, and the owner as well.
Cons: Nothing. Maybe a sign would help to find the lodge, and a bottle of water in the room would have been great.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Maji Lodge is a very relaxed and laid back guesthouse with amazingly nice and attentive staff! Price is very good for what you get. Mboka, the manager of the guesthouse, was absolutely lovely and made us feel right at home and she helped us with all of our questions and provided everything that we asked for. The location is incredible, right at the beautiful Matemwe beach overlooking the Indian ocean. The view was right out of a postcard! Breakfast is very good with fresh daily changing fruits, and you can choose from omelets, eggs prepared in different ways or pancakes and great coffee. Breakfast chef was a cool and funny guy as well, as all the rest of the staff! There is the possibility to cook for yourself in the guesthouse kitchen, but there are also plenty of hotels and restaurants just a short walk away along the beach, where you can have lunch, dinner or just go for a drink. There is also a fridge in the guesthouse packed with beer, sodas and water and you can take anything you want, mark it on a piece of paper and settle your bill when you are checking out. You can also organize snorkeling trips to the nearby atoll, spice tours, spa treatments, transport to/from Stone town etc. through the guesthouse. We really enjoyed the week that we spent there and we really recommend Maji Lodge!
Cons: It is a small gripe, but the internet connection is far from great. At times it was not working at all, and if it was, the connection was very slow. We were in Maji Lodge at the end of the rainy season and the rooms felt at times quite moist inside, but if the fans where turned on, it was helping with it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Maji Lodge is a cosy spot along the quiet beach of Matemwe, where you can lounge on the beach chairs, hammocks, or head out for activities you can arrange with the resort e.g. Stonetown tours, snorkelling. We stayed sadly only 2 nights but would have loved to extend our stay at Maji. Thank you for the hospitality!
Cons: None
10.0 Excellent

Pros: Great place to stay
Cons: Transport from Airport. It's very expressive. Could be even $50
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location right on the beach is amazing and the decoration of the lodge really nice. I would recommend
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Literally everything else!
Cons: WiFi was spotty
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Flexible: we did a late check in but everything was still very easy
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location and value for money is so good. Breakfast was delicious and filling, and the staff are friendly and helpful. There are lovely touches everywhere, from fresh flowers in the room, to good quality Zanzibari shampoo and gel in the bathroom. It is quiet and tasteful, feels like being in a lovely home. Next door on the south side is the best local restaurant Ceviche, serving the freshest, most delicious food! Highly recommend staying here.
Cons: There was nothing we didn't like, everything was wonderful!

Pros: The Staff, especially Naila & Latifa, there's also Abdu from the kitchen, actually all of them, I wish I can remember all the names, even the house keeping staff, the security, literally everyone. The view was also great , The cleanliness, The Food was great. Definitely recommending.
Cons: Just the Chairs & Seats are really uncomfortable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved our stay at Zanzibar Sunrise at Bandas! The stuff was so friendly and everyone wanted to have us a nice stay. The breakfast was extraordinary and so was dinner. We loved exercising Yoga in the morning and there were 4 very good Local Musicians during our stay in the evening.
Cons: Everything was fine!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: We liked the quietness of the place and the fact that all the staff does their best to meet your requests.
Cons: The location is a bit far away from stone town and other starting points for excursions (blue safari as an example) but that is the price you have to pay to be more secluded from other touristy places.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Located on a quiet beach protected by a reef, Bandas was everything we wanted and more. Our sea front bungalow was spacious and tastefully decorated. The staff was friendly and helpful and the food delicious. The breakfast is served throughout the day so mornings can be taken easy. The guys behind Bandas just get it – well done!
Cons: N.A.

Cons: Next to a mosque.
9.2 Excellent

Many thanks to all team that works there and compliments to who own this place for doing such a great work .
Cons: No tv in the rooms.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything at this property was exceptional from staff to scenery! The individual bungalows are beautifully appointed and offer an exquisite view of the Indian Ocean. The live music show they have on Friday night is incredible and provides a wonderfully diverse collection of local performers and traditional music. However, the one thing that ranked my stay as extraordinary was the kindness and attentiveness of the staff, chief among them were Naila and Rosa, as well as the property manager, whose name I sadly never got. I booked my stay for the weekend of my birthday and the staff went above and beyond to ensure that my birthday was special. They surprised me with a personalized birthday cake that was made by the hotel chef. It was delivered to my room by the staff who sang happy birthday, almost bringing me to tears. They also gifted me with a massage that I attempted to pay for on checkout. All told, this is an amazing property. The staff truly couldn't have been more lovely and thoughtful and the space itself more peaceful and relaxing. I will be back again for a much longer stay!
Cons: Everything was stellar. The only issue was the construction that was happening beside my bungalow on a Saturday (which happened to be my birthday). When I complained, the staff dealt with it swiftly and effectively.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: The view from the beach front bungalow was perfect. The staff from the restaurant, bar and the trainee girl were very friendly and helped us and answered every question. Reef walk is a must during your stay here Thank you Bandas team.l
Cons: During the night, the sound of the waves can wake you up.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The lovely simple little bungalows were located in a fantastic spot right on the beach. The food was excellent, and the ability to have the breakfast served all day and brought to your room so you could enjoy it on your balcony overlooking the ocean in your pyjamas just amazing! The live music in the evenings 3 nights a week was also great.
Cons: The service in the restaurant was rather slow but the food was always worth the wait. A daily yoga class was advertised but the teacher did not seem to arrive on any of the three days I was there so I ended up doing my own practice. Although the accommodation itself is really beautiful and well maintained, visitors should also be aware that it is located in the middle of a very poor area. Although this does not affect your experience while staying in the place itself, the disparity is stark and confronting. Overall though, these were minor issues in what was otherwise a great stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Zanzibar Sunrise at Bandas met and exceeded my expectations. Truly a bit of paradise. The staff particularly the manager Juma were very helpful and accommodating. Upon arrival we were served free drinks. Breakfasts were free and included a wide selection of food. One aspect that I thought was particularly creative was that breakfast is served any time of day from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. This means that if you have skipped breakfast, you can order something off the breakfast menu any time of day. We particularly enjoyed the music on Friday night and the free guided reef walk. Honestly, it was great -- a small intimate "boutique" resort.
Cons: Everything was great.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything perfect: a little oasis to stay and relax. Nothing to worry about, it’s all there. Very good kitchen preparing food for both lunch and dinner at reasonable prices. Our children loved the pool and the food. We took dinner every evening and it was always delicious. The rooms are with a/c and an incredibly good water supply. 2 min to the sea and people on the beach were very friendly. We would definitively go again.
Cons: -
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Gorgeous immaculate place with lovely Italian owners, who clearly have an amazing eye for detail: from the comfortable beds, beautiful styling and the best shower in Tanzania (hot water and great water pressure!), to the gorgeous grounds and excellent food with daily changing menu, including vegetarian/vegan options. Such a lovely relaxing place, just an hour’s drive from the hustle and bustle of the beautiful Nungwi Beach, and ~1.5 hours from Stone Town (time estimates on GPS/apps are highly inaccurate, as some roads are in poor condition or under construction). Follow the directions sent by the owners, as some apps will lead you to a dead-end street in the village. Car rental is highly recommended for exploring the island (Kibabu Cars met us at the ferry terminal, and though we had some mechanical issues, car was quickly replaced the next day). Thank you for the wonderful hospitality, wish we could have stayed longer…
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great place! Liked it so much we are going back in a few days.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: I liked the open air restaurant and the food was delicious with lots of variety. The pool area was lovely with comfortable loungers and beautiful plants. The hosts were very friendly and helpful in arranging tours and transport.
Cons: The music playing all day, it would have been better just in the afternoon.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Couldn’t fault this property....it was tastefully decorated with thought and flair ...Nice to have tea making facilities in room...the food was exceptional ...quiet peaceful location with beach a short walk across the alley way...lovely hosts who couldn’t be more helpful....
Cons: Honestly could think of a single aspect of my stay that wasn’t 10/10...,brilliant!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Management and staff are very friendly. There is a good atmosphere. Available is swimming pool. The breakfast is the best what we had in zanzibar. So many options such as sweet cakes eggs everything you wish. Also drinks are refill you can drink whatever you want. Enjoy stay.
Cons: Nothing

Featured amenities include limo/town car service, dry cleaning/laundry services, and luggage storage. 10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in Zanziblue for 3 nights and we loved it. Very nice and clean accommodation, beautiful beach, perfect seaview, nice staff and excellent food. They also have some nice beach bikes and canoes that you can rent and they can arrange some nice activities. Wish we stayed here longer.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The whole concept was great, safari in comfort right on the beach. Left alone but plenty of help when required. All fantastic. Staff wonderful and friendly
Cons: Either side of the property the beaches suffer a little from litter washed up by the tide. This is more of a disappointing observation than a black mark against Zanziblue. The beech in front of the property and in front of the neighbouring properties is cleaned daily.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location, very helpful staff, delicious food. The seabreeze in our attic was fantastic.
Cons: It would be nice to have more communal activities or areas, such as a restaurant or bar.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Ansolutely beautiful, relaxing, and quiet. The rooms were nice, absolutely relaxing, View, service. The staff tried to do or arrange whatever we wanted to do. Excellent Staff was pleasant, friendly and enjoyable--personal staff for the room. Was our anniversary. Perfect place for couples! Snorkeling was outstanding.
Cons: At times the staff was too "leave you alone" and tried not to be pushy on possible experiences to the point it made knowing options taxing.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Really cute villas, quiet and beautiful views. It is only 4 villas with 4 rooms each so they take good personalized care of each customer. The team was very efficient, organized and gave us very good tips and help. They also give you a pre-paid phone so you can call them any time. Prices for excursions and activities were more affordable than outside even.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wow! Fantastic hotel! This hotel is even better looking in real life than the photos. Many thanks to all the staff (especially Anna and Ben) for taking care of me. The hotel is super quiet, is in a beautiful location and serves very nice food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I even loved the little white cat which hung around.
7.9 Good
Pros: The peace and quiet. its on the quite part of town and not much happens here. Staff are great they go above and beyond to accommodate for u.
Cons: Its pretty far from the main area of the town. No shops around and no restaurant on site however the menu and the food served in the rooms is great.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The fact that they have no restaurant made us feel like we were at home at the beach. The chef will deliver the food for you at your room, balcony, pool, or any other area of the property. We were pampered by Anna our guest manager and all other staff.
6.7 Good
Pros: The attentiveness of the staff. Very responsive and with very good attitude. Kandy and Aisha and team did a wonderful job! All personnel is well trained Managers helpful in coordinating activities and transport. Cleanliness of the Villa. Cars used for transport were in pretty good shape and driver takes good care of you Good value in foods and beverages. Very nice beach location
Cons: I was unpleasantly surprised that there was no way of being in the beach. I though I could relax in front of the ocean with proper shade and I had to stay in the pool area (with very limited ocean view). This is a major drawback considering how nice the beach is and how other properties nearby have chars/beds on the beach with proper shade. Very frustrating! The property is also starting to be worn out and needs to be updated. The chairs/beds in the pool and terrace areas are not in very good shape. It gets extremely windy in the afternoon and there is no place to hide. The living room which would be a natural option is not adequately furnished (it has 1 worn out of chair/sofa for three people) and you have to use the chairs from the dining (outside dining as there is no inside dining) that are not comfortable either. The attic room is open which makes it subject to the weather. Wind makes it impossible to be in there during the afternoon. Need more variety in the menu especially as it relates to fish. For the four nights we spent there the “catch of the day” was the same (tuna)

Pros: Simply wonderful it is worth every Euro spent
Cons: I could not say anything in particular
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I absolutely loved my stay at zanzibar queen hotel! The staff is beyond friendly and accommodating. The rooms are lovely and each has its own patio. The pool is amazing!!! It is salt water. The hotel is located right on a beautiful beach and there is great diving and snorkeling nearby. Will definitely be returning to Zanzibar Queen if I come back to the island. The food is great but most nights are a set menu. I really appreciated the effort the hotel makes to be eco-friendly.
7.1 Good
Pros: The rooms were great, the staff was very nice and eager to help, the food was very good
Cons: The location isn't very good, basically there is not much to do outside of the hotel. Would be nice to have a more wider choice of activities. Don't recommend this location for more than three nights
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Zanzibar Queen was a really magical spot for three nights. It had a certain eclectic chic to it and the flowers/landscaping were absolutely beautiful! The hotel really creates a sort of Club Med type vibe by offering free yoga classes, free meditation classes, activities in the evening such as a Maasai show and acrobatics etc. The hotel also has a great and known dive centre in it (Scuba Fish) but we went diving with Dive Point who arranged pick ups for us every day. We had a half board and so this included breakfast and dinner (highly recommend going for this). We had lunch at some of the beach restaurants along the way.
Cons: My only feedback is on their dinner options, I really wish they offered more simple dishes - for example the best evening was when they offered grilled sea food which was divine!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Staff of the hotel from reception to restaurant and housekeeping was extremely friendly and helpful, a wonderful level of service. On top, the hotel is located close to Mnembe island (best snorkelling spot of Zanzibar) and benefit from a beautiful scenery. Would recommend to anyone looking for a stay in Zanzibar.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Excellent service, extremely friendly staff, tons of optional activities, great food - recommendable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The whole stay was perfect and above expectations. I would like to stress in particular how much all the staff cares about delivering the best service possible to the guests. This really enhances the quality of the stay, beyond the perfect beach, swimming pool and food. We (2 friends) were there for 1 whole week and managed to have the most relaxing holiday, just like we wanted, while keeping active with free yoga classes on the premises, meditation, volley gear, pétanque, badminton, massages. We could also organise day trips directly with the hotel which was quite convenient (100% recommend the spice farm!). Deep tissue massage really kicked off our holiday and was more than welcome to re-energize after the flights. The food was amazing every night and the portion are (too) big! Special thanks to Marta, Justin, Sangeti and Stephano - you were the cherry on the cake for this magical week off, with your energy, your amazing personalities and personal stories, and your dedication to helping guests enjoy their stay. I sincerely will not hesitate to come back if life takes me to Zanzibar again. Asante sana and I wish you the best!
Cons: The only thing I would not recommend is the manicure, for the nail polishing part (it’s hard to maintain satisfactory nail polish in this climate to begin with) but the hand massage that goes with it was good, perhaps just a hand treatment would be preferable.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location is good and facilities where very nice and comfortable
Cons: Dinner (included in hotel price) was very challenging especially for our kids, they did serve them an alternative but they didn't like it as well. Most nights we almost didn't eat anything and nobody really ask us why...
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Restaurant and food are excellent. Majority of Staff (especially Abdoul in restaurant and Given at reception ) are nice. The hotel arrange every day some free activities.
Cons: 1- The ocean view is kind of hidden by trees. So the ocean view is not great and not as you expect. 2- Billing: we just needed to say our room number without showing our key or sign any recipt for any expenses like drinks while we were there. It sounds comfortable but the last day when you recieve the bill it's higher than what you expected and doesn't have the details of what have you consumed. Just a cost per day but who knows what they have charged you!!!! We are sure of mistake as we kept note of every expense we had so we are sure of the mistake. Maybe somebody had said a wrong room number or the waiter heard it wrongly or ... . still waiting for hotel to clarify that although we have paid extra. Still no response from hotel which is very DISAPPOINTING. So be careful!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very kind staff. They are always ready to help and make your stay a big pleasure. The hotel is in typical African style and you can feel the atmosphere of Africa transferred in a modern way. Clean rooms with large bed. Magnificent view from the room to the garden full of tropical plants and the ocean in background. World class cuisine with a lot of choices from sea food, meet and vegetarian. Huge clean beach and coral reef in front of the hotel.
Cons: Nothing to say here.

Pros: Big house, we could even use the kitchen (big bonus with a small child). Very safe and quiet. The owners have another Hotel, where we experienced a great live music evening and dinner. They have mosquito nets. The pool is big enough to swim, have even a shallow area for kids. Beach is in walking distance, also some restaurants. We are coming back.
Cons: Everything was good, only the staff cooked (fried) once little fishes - the smell was not really nice in the house afterwards. It only happens once. So I guess it is just fine.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: I love everything about ZRH. It is located right on the beach with sand so gloriously soft you should forget about your shoes all together. Everything we tried on the menu was delicious: club sandwich, ceviche, Zanzibari soup, grilled tuna with rice and french fries with home-made mayo! Breakfast was amazing with crêpe (pancake) my Breton friend can certainly vouch for. The room was spacious and beautiful with Zanzibari furniture. I felt very relaxed, safe and comfortable here. Big thanks to Jan ans Salomé for being such gracious and hospitable hosts.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing food! Some of the best we have ever had!

Pros: We married at the villa Kiva and it was more than perfect. The whole crew is so nice. We will never forget our stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff (which was lead by the Italian manager) was fantastic - every single one of them from the cleaning ladies to the bar men. I will definitely be back.
Cons: The WiFi is not the best and definitely needs upgrading apart from that no faults.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect specially the friendly staff , the beach , the pool the location
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful quiet place near a very stunning and chilled out beach. The staff were incredibly friendly and competent and all spoke English very well.
Cons: Just a slight niggle but it was quite windy on certain nights. May have just been the time of year though.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Staff were phenomenal
Cons: Room was quite small (twin room n.24) and quite dark.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything. Great service, clean smashing location. We weren’t leaving until 4pm to the airport and as no one was checking into our room they let us stay until 4!! Get sea view room , worth the extra. Tip: ask for one of the sea view rooms further from the reception as they’ve the best view.
Cons: Nothing!!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: 2 pools and great view of the beach. Good to have beach loungers behind a hedge as there are a few people trying to sell things on the main beach and it gets a little tiring. Food was great and room was really nice.
Cons: The village is quiet and not much to do there. This was fine for us as we had just finished a big camping trip and wanted to just chill and read but if you want more bars and restaurant options you might want to pick a different village.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Good and friendly staff. Beautiful view from our room ! (We were upgraded to a sea view room). The food especially the hamburger!! We would recommend it to our friends and family.
Cons: You can't go out of the hotel at night, there are no bars or restaurants but that has nothing to do with the hotel. The hotel is great.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Just about everything. Can't beat the location.
Cons: Noisy and not efficient AC unit in one of the two rooms. Guests that do not at least try the "outside' world.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: eco friendly - the staff were very friendly - the rooms are nice
Cons: the food could be better, the shower water less salty

3.3 Mediocre
Pros: Simply nothing
Cons: Not clean. Valeur for money. Location. Very bad beach so that you can't even swim
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Where should I start... First of all...we booked our stay over a holiday agency, but booked for our parents from Kenya seperate flights and the hotel with booking.com. The food was amazing, the chef is absolutely great. The staff were like family. Just to name a few but so great people: Moses at the pool bar does the best drinks, one of the best bartender I´ve ever met. When you want to book a trip, ask for Hassan. He is the best and brings you to the best guides and tours for a reasonable price. Constantine was the best when you want someone take care of your child and their special belongings...she was just great to our daughter! To be honest, I miss that holiday...it was one of our best. When you consider Zansibar, you have to consider Neptune Pwani...that´s a must!
Cons: some towels need to be exchanged.... and...speed of beach drink delivery needs to be improved but hey...still a great place!
7.5 Good
Cons: İ didn’t like the transport. İt must be including the price. Because i paid 150$. Also we paid one $ for person per day.
5.4 Okay
Pros: The coconut stand

Pros: Big room with a nice view.
Cons: There was not hot water when we tried to have a shower.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was perfect. It is not another all incluse resort with dozens of rooms. Here the staff kmows your name. Everyone was very kind and professional. Everything is quiet. The beach is amazing (and yes, you have the low tide effect on this side of the Island). The hotel can arrange all type of excursions. The food is great! In a word, Zanzibar House is just perfect. It is not a fancy and artificial hotel; it is a hotel that cares about you.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The whole experience of staying at House of Zanzibar was undoubtedly one of the best I've had to date. The room is very spacious, has a huge balcony where you can relax comfortably and overlook the fantastic white sandy beach with the crystal clear water. The meals are delicious and very well prepared. We can taste Italy and Zanzibar flavors mixed in the perfect way. The staff were always very attentive, extremely friendly and always taking care of all our needs (Thank you so much Nicolas and Nina... we already miss your smile and the small talks...) The owners, Massimiliano and Miriam, made us feel special throughout our stay and always paying special attention to food needs (vegetarian and lactose free dishes). This stay was perfect in every way, from the house, the staff, the beachfront location and the friendliness of the local people. Surely we will repeat the experience and stay even longer at House of Zanzibar
Cons: All was perfect
9.6 Excellent
Pros: I spent about 10 days in Zanzibar, most of them in the north at Zanzibar House, and I am glad I did. It’s a wonderful place to rest and enjoy the magnificent beach. It is also close to Mnemba island, a good place for snorkeling and diving. The food was amazing. The staff was very caring.
Cons: The only problem was that shower water sometimes had little flux and sometimes had no hot water.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Zanzibar House took care of every detail and truly made us feel like home. The house was very special and the owner and the staff were attentive to every need. The four course dinners were fantastic! This was not a typical hotel experience, more like being privates guests in a beautiful home on the beach. We will be back!
Cons: Nothing at all!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the staff and service !
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Clean and staffs
Cons: NA
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The building and its location was exquisite, we had the whole beach to our yourselves most of the time, the 4 course dinner menu was carefully thought through and executed and the staff team were courteous and efficient. We can't wait to go back!
Cons: There was an issue with the shower on one occasion but this this was quickly resolved.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing place with great ocean view options. Great big rooms, very helpful stuff. Nice breakfasts. Beatiful place!
Cons: Food as for italian place was a little disapointment for us. Evening with only set up huge diners and not a menu wasnt an option for us. Small swimming pool. But besides those small things it was still 10 for us!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great location, lovely family run place with great Italian food Really helpful staff and amazing beach - really recommend this place to chill out in for a few days
Cons: The friendly room is comfortably but the difference with the ocean view rooms is quite big, and this isn't reflected in the price difference between the rooms. For an extra $15 a night the ocean view rooms are so much nicer!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were really helpful especially the house keeping manager Alex, f&b manager Dickson and the general manager. They were really welcoming.
Cons: The room that was first allotted for us was smelling of fungus and after complaining they did some cleaning after which it was little better and requested us to stay there for one day as all the room were fully booked. After which they changed our room the next day of our choice in the same block. They even upgraded us from half board to full board.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff always kind and available to accomodate any request. The restaurant is providing very good food with several choices everyday, as well every night there was a different evening theme (italian, african, etc) The excursions provided from the resort are very well organized and complete. The animation teams was providing quite several kind of activities everyday but always very kind, polite and never pushy. The services at the spa offers a lot if different massages, worth to try all of them. The spa stuff also was also able to accomodate accomodate any last time change :-) The jacuzzi bar in front of the beach add extra point to the resort, giving you the possibility to enjoy a jacuzzi and drinks with a stunning view in front of the ocean
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely, clean beach, tide is managable and there are large freshwater pools available for swimming during low tide. Staff is nice, helpful and welcoming, though there still is a level up, as we learnt it at another resort. As the resort area is huge, you can even have a short walk after sunset. Souvenir shop, a well-equipped shop of drinks, snacks, tobacco, hygiene items is available onsite and a tour agent is helping you to arrange day trips. We were given an upgrade upon mentioning that we're on our honeymoon - having an own jacuzzi on the balcony, with an ocean view is something I'm really thankful for! The jacuzzi bar is also just cool. For half-board guests, drinks cost around 5-8 USD = EUR, cocktails are rather strong, ice is from a safe, bottled source. Other souvenir shops and restaurants available in the area.
Cons: The hotel beach is relatively crowded, you need to wake up early to have an umbrella. Payment against the room bill is not always working, so you need to carry cash eg. to the jacuzzi bar. Beach boys are not too pushy, still I got stopped/talked to by someone every time I went to swim. Bed was a bit narrow and the mosquito net not as clean as I expect it. Animations and parties are loud, even if you stay far from the pool area, you won't get much sleep before 11. Also, there's not too much variety about the animation programs. Our airport transfer was forgotten - can recommend official taxis instead, using the same 50 USD transfer rate per car. Cars would not drive up to the reception area, so we had to carry our luggage to the gate after checkout. Food was more to the European taste, with hints of the local cuisine.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: the resort is just perfect... is like an oasis away from everything. .. it's a beachfront resort and the sand is white and soft.. the water is blue and great for swimming when you will enter the gate you will find everything very clean and well organized, with nice trees and flowers the staff is very polite and helpful .. and they take care of all the details .. they can help you with organisation if you have some special event during your trip (birthday, honeymoon, marriage proposal) .. the hotel manager is always supervising everything all the time the main restaurant is offering buffet with a lot of options and every evening is a specific of a different area of the world .. I recommend you to choose half board or all inclusive options of booking they also have some entertainment and activities during the day ... and dancing at night
Cons: you should take with you hair conditioner and body lotion and any other small amenities you might need.. only shower gel and shampoo is provided

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The personal.was very nice
7.5 Good
Pros: The property are very nice, calm, and the area was amazing. I like the swimming pool, they have theatre, gym. And the food are very nice. Suggested to take all inclusive package since you are in the middle of nowhere which no restaurant nearby, not even for an ATM
Cons: Beaches quite dirty with seaweed they didn’t manage to clean the dirt, the toilet is dry toilet. The shower room is too small and no cover so water spilled everywhere. I am English speaker guess, and the entertainer there most of them spoke Italian and French. They still trying to speak in English but some show am lost in translation since they speak Italian/French.
7.9 Good
Pros: The selection for the buffet was great and enough options available. It is situated right on the beach. the view from our room was beautiful. Resort was not very noisy which was great for relaxation. The overall view and cleanliness was spectacular. The resort is truly beautiful and have enough entertainment. Spa treatments was very relaxing and the local girls have been incredibly well trained.
Cons: The room smelt very damp and mouldy when we arrived and did not go away until the air con was switched on, the smell was still vaguely in the air after. The options for alcoholic drinks on all inclusive option are very limited and not of good quality. If you want a decent cocktail you have to pay for it even though you pay quite a lot for the all inclusive option.

Pros: 2nd time in this hotel. All in all, our 1 night in the villa was superb. Amazing beach. Good food. Warm personnel.
Cons: We booked for 2 nights via booking.com but on arrival the room was not available. It forced us to get a room of a budget higher than we were had planned for. The following day we had to check out as there was no room available despite making reservations via booking.com. The hustle of getting free cancellation was annoying and wasted our time. The staff was very helpful in facilitating the cancellation so as to avoid paying the cancellation fee.
7.5 Good
Pros: The staff was excellent,
Cons: Aircon sub standard and noisy, evening entertainment non existing - been there before and there was entertainment every night, food became bland after the second day but outside evening outstanding

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nicely maintained villa, manager Ali is really good.
Cons: Though nice location, road connecting to property is too bad
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Amazing, comfortable, nicky decorated isolated villa. Beautiful pool, excellent service by the house manager Ali and the staff. Great breakfast and very good meals cooked for you the way you want. Fantastic air-conditioned rooms with balcony and huge beautiful bathrooms. If you are looking for a place to relax, swim, read a book with a cold beer by your private pool look no more.
Cons: The villa is 30 min drive for the village. It sits on isolated clif over the sea. If you are looking for a place to relax, swim in the pool, enjoy the sunset and the present of your companions there couldn't be a better place in Zanzibar. Take into account you will need 30 drive to get anywhere. So if you arrive during the day stop on the market on the way and buy some snacks, fruits and drinks. Ali, the house manager can take you anywhere but take into account it takes time and not free.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything- it is like a fairytale
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything in this place was amazing. The people were beyond amazing. The place is gorgeous with nice balconies, we couldn't have asked for more.
Cons: The road to the place is really rough. It takes about 20-30 minutes of terrible road to get to the place/paradise.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Private and secluded, Ali (house manager) excellent host, chef and staff great. Amazing view of Indian ocean from house and pool, great snorkelling just 20 minute boatride away at Mnemba island.
Cons: The local road from the main road the last km:s is really terrible :-)
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location. Private pool.
Cons: Access road is very rough.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Private, spacious, clean, comfortable, amazing views, amazing hosts
Cons: The road to get there is very rough
9.6 Excellent
Pros: It was a truly unique experience - the villa is lovely and the people there too. We had beautiful dinners with our cook Ahmed, Ali the house manager always looked after us and Upendo kept the house tidy and beautiful. You have your own little paradise and people who enjoy their me time - that’s perfect as you will be on your own. Having your own pool and access to the beach where you can stroll around is truly meditativ Can only recommend you will not regret it!
Cons: If you want to go swimming in the sea, the location is not ideal because there are sea urchins a little further out and the water is covered with seaweed. But when the sea has gone back you can go for a walk which was very nice and you could also watch the crabs between the rocks. Don't forget your shoes because you "climb" over stones. You're really isolated there. You can book a taxi to take you somewhere on the island, but if you want to buy for example food spontaneously it is actually not possible. Therefore I recommend if you go to Stone Town or somewhere else stock up with some things if you feel the need to. But the food in the villa ist really good so you don't have to. Maybe just for some sweets?!

9.6 Excellent
Pros: The view, the staff, the pool
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location was secluded and peaceful. Very private and comfortable and super fast WiFi.
Cons: Although, there was tranquility to some extent. There was nothing even within walking distance and the menu although very good, not the type of food you want more than two days. More variety would have been better.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great staff! Large beautiful rooms
Cons: Location is a bit far from everything
7.1 Good
Pros: Large and tasty breakfast, good dishes in the restaurant with fresh seafood and both local en international dishes. Friendly and helpful staff. Well maintained premises and large comfortable rooms.
Cons: When booking there was no mention that when paying with a credit card you are charged an additional fee of 4% on your bill to pay the hotel's bank fees. That's poor communication and was an unpleasant surprise at the end of the trip. Beware that the tide (period August): high tide that allows for swimming is only at sunrise and sunset. You can go out for a long walk into the sea during the day but you'll need water shoes because there really are a lot of sea urchins. The price is quite high overall in retrospect for the service provided.

Pros: The property was always neat and clean. The friendly went over and above to make us feel comfortable, we really appreciated it. The food was delicious as well!

Pros: Everything! Amazing staff, relaxing pool, beautiful views, delicious food and tasty cocktails. You can use kayaks for free and also bikes. They prepare different type of dinners (bbq, swahili). Lovely Magda taught us how to play Bao and we enjoyed a lot! Thanks u all
7.9 Good
Pros: Lovely boutique hotel, with a good size to give personalized service. Very friendly staff!
Cons: Feels a bit enclosed from 5 pm when sun disappears behind trees and it is high tide, so beach can’t be accessed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: From the pre-booking communication we already had a good feeling, fast and clear responses and that feeling got confirmed during our whole stay. Great location, great setup of the bungalows, great view, right on the beach.... you will find yourself in a very good and relaxing atmosphere at Marafiki. Also a big thank you to the staff, great and friendly service in the restaurant, reception, cleaning. If there is an issue or you have a question it gets addressed right away. The breakfast was lovely, fresh fruit, toast, eggs cooked to order... everything you need to start the day. Another great value is the restaurant, nicely presented very tasteful dishes from the set menu or the daily dishes whatever we had during our stay it was top and served with a smile by the staff. A big thanks to the owners and full staff for the hospitality and specially to Peter to drive us to the airport the last day!

Pros: The fish at dinner was perfect.
Cons: No chance to clean your shoes out of the room

Pros: The place is beautiful, the food is delicious
Cons: Our room was located next to the driveway
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Jambo!! The staff was really amazing and helpful, which was one of the best parts of the Marafiki experience. They had the best recommendations, were very accommodating, and always friendly. The location was excellent, far enough away from the touristy part of the beach to feel peaceful, but close enough to walk (on the beach) if you wanted to see more activity. Really really great place to stay in Zanzibar.
Cons: Nothing!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Place is beautiful and staff are extremely friendly and helpful
Cons: People who provide scuba diving. They are unprofessional and don’t care about safety and their staff are untrained.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We had the honeymoon suite for 4 nights and it was perfect! Oceanfront with our own private deck and small pool, we enjoyed our stay very much. The staff were all so friendly and helpful. We enjoyed a dinner under the stars on our private deck as well as breakfasts in bed. Definitely recommend.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: I will start by sending a big "thank you!" to the entire staff and to the Hotel Manager. Although the check-in time was scheduled for 12:00, they've made sure our room was ready for 5:00 am. So we had the chance to relax and to sleep after the 16 hrs flight. The resort has a beautiful garden. The beach is quiet and wild. Entire staff was friendly and always ready to help you. Rooms are clean, food was great but a little bit expensive comparing with other restaurants in the nearby.
Cons: The breakfast was delicious, but you don't have many options to choose. After 4 days you would want to try something more diversified...
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location; Food; Staff
Cons: Tides
7.9 Good
Pros: Perfect location and staff although some struggle with English were outstanding and very friendly. rooms on the second and top floor have perfect unobstructed views of the ocean. lovely rooms and private bathrooms (shower only) and the dining and lounging areas are right on the edge of the ocean. you can hear the ocean from your room especially at night and early morning. the staff made the perfect lemon, ginger and honey tea :)
Cons: When I initially got there, I had been given a ground floor room which had a sliver of a view of the ocean (it was called a sea view room, technically correct but manage your expectations). In addition, there was a room on the top floors but getting the staff and/or owner-managers to transfer me, i was continually told the hotel was fully booked, in spite of booking.com showing this availability of two rooms for my dates. I was even willing to pay more so this whole experience left a bad taste because I wondered why it was an issue and was more difficult than it had to be...on my second day, having not slept the night before, they eventually moved me. The sheets although clean could have been perfectly white/no stains but if you are not finicky, this is a small issue. There is no aircon in the rooms but the fans were OK unless you like an icebox in the tropics. there are no telephones in the rooms for people to call you so you will need a cellphone or you will need to walk to reception if you have an inquiry.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff, very comfortable room, great view from taras.
7.5 Good
Pros: The Hotel it’s very confortable and with a good location if you want to relax. The personal from the Restaurant Area it’s very pleaseant and frendly to Guests. We had a wonderfull time.
Cons: The staff from the Reception does not comply to the rest of the Hotel. Not friendly at the arrival and equal unkind at the departure. Hope this comes to the attention of Anna because the first contact with the Hotel does not comply to all of the rest. I would like also to notice that the reception Staff has a paralel business regarding taxis. They over charge you 3-4 times more than the regular price. It’s a shame that with all the good things and Happy time we had there the first and final impression does not comply with all the rest. I’m sure this will be corrected.!!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff are the best.
Cons: The access from main road to the hotel entrance is very annoying, needs proper asphalt or at least some paving to make it easy and comfortable drive. "About 2 min max drive".
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This property exceeded my expectations. After trawling through a lot of resorts and accommodation choices that didn't work, we finally landed on this. It was the most stunning hotel, about 20 rooms so small enough to have a personal touch and big enough to have atmosphere. The restaurant is directly on the beach and having walked up and down the beach and looking at other hotels - this was by far the best in terms of view and on the beach location. The staff were excellent and very friendly, and would share stories of the island when sitting at the bar for sundowners. You could use bikes and kayaks for free, excursions to Stone Town and Spice Farm were done with no issues and all on time. The rooms were cleaned to a very high standard. And the beach was possibly one of the best I have ever seen. Food menu was very changeable with enough variety for me, fish was fabulous. And the happy hour drinks were fabulous with lots of different cocktails on offer. I would recommend this hotel to anyone, it really was magic and probably one of the most relaxing holidays I have ever had.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: everything but the personal were the most

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We really enjoyed our stay at Zanzibar Magic. It was very relaxing with excellent service and great facilities. We decided to stay in Matemwe so that we could go snorkeling at Mnemba Island and the staff were great and took care of arrangments. The breakfast menu stayed the same which was fine for a the few days we were there. The lunch and dinner menu changed which we appreciated as I don't think there were many other restaurants unless you walked up the beach to another resort. Our room had its own porch with a small view of the ocean and mosquito netting around the bed. We loved the bath products as well. We spent a lot of our time around the pool and on the lounge chairs facing the beach. This place seemed great for couples or groups of adults. They offered kayaks, bikes, and a volleyball net for activities. We loved our stay and would definitely come back!
Cons: Nothing to complain about!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed here for 11 days and we couldn't chose better accommodation and place for our vacation! All the stuff were so nice. Very quite place and not too many people, we had a great rest there. You can borrow there bikes or kayak and for free, that was great fun. And the food was excellent, maybe the price wouldn't be so high but in other way it worth it! We really enjoyed this place!

The simple decorated and thatched bungalows come with hot and cold water and a fan. Mosquito nets are draped around the beds. An array of activities can be enjoyed on site or in the surroundings, including snorkelling, kite surfing and fishing. Cocktails and drinks can be enjoyed at the bar. Trips to Mnemba Island can be arranged. Zanzibar Airport is a 50-minute drive away.
7.5 Good
Pros: Excellent staff and very nice breakfast in a calm environment. On the beach front however not noisy. good restaurants nearby.
Cons: The air conditioning unit in our room struggled to keep the room cool in the evening.
5.0 Okay
Pros: They kept the place clean. The staff and owner make a great effort in making you feel welcome and help you with any queries.
Cons: The beach is spectacular, however you cannot see the beach due to trees and bushes inbetween the hotel and beach. The landscaping has been done as if you are 3 blocks back from the beach. There is no view from your balcony except palm tree leaves which start 1m from the balcony. The decor in the rooms is very mix match. Bed mattresses are uncomfortable. The length of the beds are small for anyone over 180cm in height as it is a sleigh bed. The AC did not work in one of the rooms, another room had a very musty smell.
7.1 Good
Pros: Lovely setting and beautiful beach
Cons: Some of the staff perhaps not as warm as they could be. We were disappointed with the 5% credit card charge
9.2 Excellent
Pros: small boutique hotel just right on the beach. Helpful stuff, nice swimming pool, good kitchen. Great for few days stay at Zanzibar. Really fine place both for couples and families
Cons: internet
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Atmosphere, location, food!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The first thing that strikes upon arrival is the beautiful garden. It is so well groomed and lush. Then the setting of the premises, well thought, welcoming, confortable and cosy. Then the pool, then the beach, literally right at the gate. I stayed 3 days and I enjoyed every minute of it. Janet and Seles the owners know everyone by name, are extremely friendly and make you feel like an old friend. The staff is wonderful. Everyone is so caring and attentive, they remembered even my food dislikes:) Finally, the food is delicious and the Greek salad was so amazing I ate it everyday and will make it at home! In a nutshell Seles Bungalow is definitely the place to stay in Matemwe, to rest, relax and feel pampered.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The restaurant and bar were fabulous. The chef is excellent and we thought the food was fantastic. Janet, the host, went above and beyond to help us and the other staff were great too. The location was great for a trip to Mnemba Island and amazing snorkelling.
Cons: Our room was only just big enough with the bed pushed right up to one wall and the bathroom wasn't anything special. Having said that, value for money was satisfactory and when we had an issue with a shower head, it was changed immediately, which was great service.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything about the place; the staff, the food, the atmosphere was absolutely super. A really welcoming place with a big personality that you fall in love with. Thanks for having us!

Pros: Great place, beautiful beach, not a lot to see around the hotel, but diving at Mnemba is great. Fantastic place to relax, both for couples and families. Food was great, nice and clean, and staff smiling af friendly.

Pros: great location, great service, highly recommended
5.8 Okay
Pros: Perfect environment and neatness. Food is also very good and tasty. Some stuff are very experienced and interact well they know what they are doing to make the client feel comfortable.
Cons: One rude lady I can’t recall her name she could. Be considerate that I had kids that’s why my husband requested for late check out so what she was doing was to force me out of the room as if I don’t really matter despite we had two rooms and we stayed there for 3 nights.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The location is beautiful, the facilities to a very high standard and the staff without fail were welcoming, friendly and helpful. Room was beautiful and very well equipped.
Cons: There was nothing I didn't like at all.
7.5 Good
Pros: Good food, facilities and overall service. Very nice upgrade when we told them about our honeymoon.
Cons: The reception is too far from most of the rooms and therefore they should develop their transport service. They should also ask guests more often about drinks and refreshments. The toilets could also need some renovation.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The layout of the resort is very well thought out, so although it was busy you could always find a quiet place. The location and beach is really lovely. When the tide is out, you can walk out, explore and see beautiful star fish and lots of sea urchins, as well as coral and crabs. All of our rooms had big balconies with elevated views of the resort and surrounding trees and gardens.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Blue Bay is a top hotel in Kiwengwa. Great location, beach, staff, and meals. Rooms are spacious and clean. Very safe (have 2 gates with security).

Pros: The food exceeded all expectations that we had before arriving. We expected quite a basic offering, but what we received was a fabulous buffet offering a salad bar, fresh grilled tuna, and DIY pasta station (made by the chef). Honestly, it’s some of the best buffet food we have enjoyed whilst vacationing. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were equally plentiful. The all-inclusive alcohol offerings were superb-a choice of rose, red and white South African wine, approximately 7 cocktail choices, 2 types of beer and approximately 7 mocktail choices (perfect for my friend as she doesn’t drink alcohol). Cass the manager was extremely attentive, friendly and chatty and would go out of his way to come over and ask how we are. At pre-dinner drinks on our first night we chatted with him. He then went to the restaurant and reserved us one of the best tables for dinner. His customer service is top notch.
Cons: The property is literally in the middle of nowhere-so if you are looking to take a walk and explore the surrounding area, this is not for you. To get to the property, you have to drive past a guard in a booth that takes the car details and raises a pole blocking the road. You then drive up to a giant gate where once again a security guard takes the car/driver details and then unlocks the gate and allows you in. With this measure (as two female travellers) I felt very safe at this resort. The fact that we were in the middle of nowhere didn’t concern us as we had travelled for a relaxing beach stay, and the property services offered meant that we didn’t have to look elsewhere.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: This is one of the best hotels that we visit. Stuff is very friendly and nice. The food is vert fresh and delicacies. The beach is very clean and very comfortable. .
Cons: When you want to change towel for the beach that is not possible. You can get only one towel per day. This is OK but it could be better.
7.5 Good
Pros: The buffet at the hotel has a wide selection of food and they had very pleasant and helpful waiters. The hotel is right on the beach which was great for morning sunbathing and swim in their pool that overlooks the ocean. I particularly enjoyed the fact that dawa cocktails feature in the all-inclusive beverage list. The hotel rooms were clean and well sized.
Cons: More hotel activities and better bands during the night entertainment
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everthing
Cons: Nothing
7.5 Good
Pros: Most things were likeable but not necessarily exceptional. Therefore it met our expectations as a 4 star rated hotel.
Cons: No universal power plugs in rooms and no adaptors offered from hotel unless you wanted to buy from the gift shop at $10. Booked tennis court next door affiliated hotel (5star) but we couldn’t play on the day because the court was wet from the rain the night before. Considering the hotel were aware of the booking, 1) they could have notified us in advance of any cancellation, 2) sent a staff out to squeegee/sweep the water away.

Pros: We spent an excellent week here, as a family with three kids. Our villa was very clean, fully equipped and with lots of space. The huge roof terrace is where you want to stay forever. The pool is great! Allesandro and his team are wonderful hosts, always available and extremely friendly. The nearby beach is very beautiful, the village interesting. All the people we met there were just very nice. Kind of a paradise. We’d go back there any time. Thank you.

Pros: I travelled here solo and was amazed at how nice my apartment was. Beautiful hotel with a fantastic beach nearby. Staff were great, going above and beyond to help, and very friendly. Would definitely come back here - Breeze Residence is like a home from home, and excellent value for money!

Pros: We recommend BREEZE RESIDENCE. The place is very quiet, friendly, clean and nice. Staff is great. This little oasis is placed close to beach. You can plan your vacation, your days by yourself. You can try many local restaurants along the beach and you are not limited with daily hotel program.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very nice and helpfull owner and staff. Alessandro always helped us immediately with whatever we asked or wanted. The cleaning staff kept the villa clean and tidy, Ali helped with maintenance, Omar always served breakfast every morning with a smile etc. Also nice that the Masai greeted us and opened the hotel gate for us every time. The hotel is located in a poor residential area with very warm and welcoming people. Just say ”jambo” and they will all greet you back. Dont be afraid to accept offers from the locals, we got great deals on tours and taxis and they helped us purchase every day things from the village for little or sometimes even no cost.
Cons: We liked everything with Breeze but there are things worth knowing about Kiwengwa that we can mention. There are not many restaurants in the area that are open to the public, most belong to private resorts. To the left of Breeze on the beach the restaurants are more expensive than on the right. Those on the right take at least 30 min to reach though if you walk on the beach. You can cook your own food at Breeze and the locals are happy to help with that but honestly the supply is very limited in the village, at least to our opinion. There are many vendors on the beach, in some parts even every 10 meters that will try and sell you excursions, items etc. They can at times be annoying but are always friendly if you share a few words while walking, even if you dont buy. As you can see there isnt any complains regarding Breeze Residence, they are great,
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Nice residence with amazing pool and near an amazing beach. The people in the nearby village are friendly and helpful. You can self-cater or have breakfast on site. Also you can use the ZanView facilities, if you like to.
Cons: There were frequent power outages, but I guess there is not much they can do about that. The next ATM is in Stone Town, so bring cash.

We felt safety and welcoming there, I absolutely recommend this accomodation for everybody who are looking for calm place for relax. Whole my family enjoyed this hotel, a piece of paradise on the earth.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Pool area was absolutely beautiful & serene. Also the service exceeded my expectations. The staff was always really helpful and Alessandro helped a lot in organizing tours and transports.
Cons: Wifi could have worked better. It was only the last day I learned that it could have been upgraded. Please add that information to the sheet found in rooms to add convenience
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very nice hotel with great pool and beautiful apartments, everything looks even better then on the photos. Friendly stuff, great terraces, overall very nice option in Kiwengwa.
Cons: Our apartment had no air conditioning (only ventilators), but they plan to upgrade all of them.
