Desk staff was helpful and the location was convenient to the train station. No air conditioning required windows to be kept open which creates considerable noise.
Good greeting, nice meal and staff very helpful. Location outstanding - Zermatt and lots of walks.
Close to the station, clean, helpful staff, quiet, very recommended, excellendy wireless internet
central location very basic rooms
Free wifi proximity to the station the staff were nice
Convenient stopover location en route to Zermatt. Good breakfast and clean, basic rooms.
Good, central, quiet location
Very close to train station. Nice rooms. Good breakfast. There was no shutter on one of the windows. The street lights were really bright and shined through so it was really hard to sleep.
The staff were friendly and helpful. It was nice to have space in the bedroom and a balcony. It was an excellent location. The extra touches were really nice - ie a basket of apples by the elevator. The bathroom was very compact!
Everything was neat and clean and modern. The private parking worked well and it is well placed in Visp.
Easy access, comfortable, nice design features, good breakfast. The electrical outlet and above bed lighting were broken. We ran out of toilet paper and tissue on the second day.
The friendly staffs and the modern facilities and clean room
Offered an early breakfast if we required it No restaurant for dinner
goof value; very clean; little "extras" (e.g. free fruit)
Herr Zimmerman, the owner, is a very dedicated person and helpful in giving good directions about what to see and do in the area. The room walls, bed support and floors were all knotty pine and beautiful with a sense of authenticity. The room had a balcony that looked down on the Visp valley and the mountains beyond. The Pension kastel is in the small village of Zennegen, 1400 meters above sea level. Quiet and lovely area. The breakfast provided was really good with good variety and balance between protein and carbohydrates.
Must be one of the best views in Switzerland to wake up to at 1400m above sea level and about 700m above Visp. Very attentive owner made us very welcome.
The staff here were wonderful and so hospitable. They gave us many great locations in the area to check-out; Zermatt town and the Matterhorn, Beurgerbad @ Leukenbad thermal baths, spa and wellness centre (awesome slides for family fun!!!). We were only going to stay for 1 night and ended up staying for 3! We would definitely stay here again :) They do not provide soap and shampoo. This was the only negative.
The staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. All rooms have an excellent view and are comfortable and clean. We got the impression from booking.com that the pension had a restaurant. This is not the case - a fact which guests might need to know in advance.
Location and the view to the mountains and valley from the room with balcony was amaizing. Breakfast was also very good. Possibility to park a car. Free Internet. Staff very friendly.
The hotel staff made our stay very pleasant. Good breakfast. Near to Zermatt to enjoy Matterhorn views.
The hospitality, swimming pool and excellend food
I highly recommend this hotel to anyone as it is one of the best in Switzerland. It was very relaxing and the food was just brilliant. The staff are also very friendly and nice and always check on you if you're doing well. It is highly recommended for anyone. Everything was perfect.
Very nice family hotel, great country-side location, pool with mountains view, nice breakfast.
Service, local food and wine
food was good and the view of the mountains very nice didn't know there would be trains running every 15 minutes all night! Beware hotels with Bahnhof in the name
The breakfast was excellent, best bread I've eaten in years. The restaurant was disappointing, standard Swiss pub grub (fondues, roesti etc): tasty and well prepared for the standard price, but certainly not "special".
Nice staff, good comfort, found good solutions for the group. Did not accept credit cards that day (big issue for foreigners). Should have been told in advance. Poor breakfast
The friendly and very helpful owners who run the hotel.
Good food, good wines, good mood The separation between the 'cafe-restaurant' and the stair case allows the smoke and smells to reach the rooms.
The owners and staff were so friendly and helpful that staying there was a really enjoyable experience. The hotel was super-clean and the food was delicious
The personal attention of the hotel owner, who was very keen to ensure that our stay was as perfect as we could have possibly hoped for.
Familly ambiance! We got what we payed for. It was just for 2 nights passing trough to Zehr matt
Friendly staff, stone throw away from train station. Can have more options in menu for breakfast
Lovely location at the higher end of the lovely town of Visp. Lots of parking space. Run by nuns; they made us feel at home. Lots of cherry and pear trees; kids enjoyed picking cherries and the nuns helped us with it. Very quiet corner of the town. Perfect for family with kids. There is even a Llama enclosure near the parking. A bit of a walk if arriving by train, luckily we had our own car. No WiFi or TV in the rooms. The bathroom and toilets were shared. This could have been a problem, but luckily we were the only ones on our floor.
clean and peaceful. good surroundings, garden, spring and free parking lots close by.
Cleanness of the room, silent surroundings, quite a spectacular mountain view from the windows. The hotel is runned by the church. It provides some spirit about the place. But it also makes hotel not well suitable for the night-life-fans. No TV in the rooms. Breakfast is good, but it seems food selection follows religious regulations (no meat during the fast time).
We found this to be very clean simple accommodation. A no frills approach and good value for money.
quiet and clean very comfortable No, but I di not realise it was a religious community from the web site information
Clean; simple but nice breakfast. Although the hotel information on booking.com says that rooms are en suite, we were given a family room with shared bathrooms/toilets at the end of the corridor. Not sure if any of the rooms are actually en suite. We did not find any information about this in the visitors' reviews either. Luckily we were the only guests on that floor - otherwise it would have been a problem.
It was simple and excellent. The price is so reasonable and the standards so high. Would definitely recommend to others
Hotel for a 1-2 night stays. No TV, no extras, managed by religious. Too expensive for the comfort they offer.
It is an old hospital run by nuns. The cleanliness was great and the breakfast was OK. But, it still felt like a hospital. We could only manage one night and canceled the rest of our stay. No atmosphere. If your dream vacation is to stay in a hospital then stay here. It would be a good place to stay at half the price.
The front desk had better improve English-speaking capability. ^_^
This Hotel fit the charm of the region and was very close to the Historic Church and Museum. Attached Restaurant was very good, authentic with indorr as well as outdoor dining. Main entry well decorated with regional charm and staff was very friendly. nothing.
