Right of the highway Rooney was dirty. Pulled back the sheets only to find fingernail clippings and other stuff I can't explain. Switched rooms only to have the air conditioning not working. Would not recommend.
Great overnight stay but would not recommend it for an extended stay. Clean, friendly with a great staff. Got a great night's sleep before we travelEd on.
Room size & amenities: microwave and fridge in the room with lots of cable channels and a window seat (we had the two queen bed room) It was perfect for 2 adults and 2 children. Free breakfast - not just pastries and cereal but they had eggs, bacon or sausage (different days) and potatoes in addition to pre-made waffles and bagels. Hotel is very clean and new. One exit farther than the route to Yellowstone; not near much food - short drive to the main hotel/food areas. Washer and dryer are outdated and need improvement.
The pillows smelled like sweat. The chair was dirty.
Just off the highway, and it is new, we stayed there before
Staff was very nice but rather slow, especially the desk, no matter who was manning it. The Tavern/Lounge was a surprise and very good - especially the green chili. Breakfast was good. Pool was out of commission. Lot of transients under business contract staying there.
Some rooms have two entries. One door leads to the hotel's interior hall and the other is an exterior door that gives direct access to the parking lot. This is extremely convenient if you have a lot of luggage, especially in the winter. I was able to park my minivan 5 feet from the door to my family's room and move all of our luggage from the car to the room in a matter of seconds. It was 18 degrees outside so I really appreciated that I didn't have to make multiple trips from the car to the lobby and then down some hall to our room. Since all rooms also have a door into the interior of the hotel, we didn't have to go outside to enjoy the amenities of the hotel unles we wanted to (unlike a motel).
Rooms were fairly well furnished. Location right by Interstate freeway. I had a reservation made in advance as part of my itinerary for this motel. When I pulled in, I noticed a shuttle van for the motel leaving. The first oddball aspect of this place is that the front desk is in the diner. I went to the window for checking in. After a couple minutes, someone from the diner came to help me. I told her I had a reservation. She cheerfully told me that the lady who takes care of that just left. She was the one driving the shuttle bus down to the train depot. I didn’t get the whole story, but evidently this motel exists primarily to provide rooms for employees of a railroad company. I asked the lady from the diner when she would return, she cheerfully told me about 15 minutes. Needless to say, if I did not have a reservation I would have left immediately. When the lady returned in the shuttle with the railroad employees, she ignored me waiting there and took care of them first. I noticed that the motel has a nice looking actual lobby area. However, it is the Crew Lounge, and is off-limits to the less-deserving paying motel customers. Here are the highlights from this incompetently run establishment: - No continental breakfast, not even free coffee. The lady cheerfully told me the diner is open 24 hours. - The free coffemaker in the room had no coffee. - No alarm clock in the room. - The hot water pressure was weak, I had a hard time taking a shower with warm water. I was insulted being treated like an inferior person by the staff. The $85 they charged was way over-priced for a no-frills motel like this.
The restaurant and the crew there are very good. The room was not very clean. Other empty rooms on the floor had the doors proped open with towels and they were not cleaned, as though the cleaning crew had not finished on the third floor
The heating unit was hot then cold. The Bed was too hard.
Location was good. Mattress was comfortable. Clean. Room a little crowded and outdated. Diner was great for breakfast, but dinner not very good.
Good price, location and had a bathtub. Have to check in at the diner next door. When I arrived at 9pm no one was available to assist me for over 20 minutes. They didn't even look at me or say that the clerk was away and would be back in 20 minutes.
Clean enough, comfortable, friendly enough, we basically needed a place to sleep for a night. It was adequate for that. Not completely clean. Some areas could have used more elbow grease. No breakfast included or at least this wasn't made known to us.
Good value No free breakfast there was last time
The staff were very friendly and accomodating despite being understaffed (at checkin), the room was clean and comfortable, the location in town is perfect, plenty of parking, adorable diner, the elevator and dolly made loading in and out a breeze (I dont travel light), pet friendly, and even a little grill outside with a picnic table :) One major annoyance was that the wifi did notttt work. Also I needed to stay longer as I am intown for work and was unable to get a weekly stay/rate bc the place was completely boked up! That part is good for them :) bad for me :/
Convenience of restaurant right there Everyone from my class had massive allergy attacks every night we were there
easy to get to from I-80 Rooms were dirty obviously now maintenance in years. Cracks in sink, shower grungy Breakfast far inferior to most chains where I have stayed.
room was OK clean remodle construction mess not cleaned up
I wasn't sleeping on the ground. Mattress was a little too firm, and the room was like a sauna (the a/c wasn't working properly).
clean, right price, comfortable
The America's Best Hotel in Rawlins WY must have been a converted Bates Motel. It was a step down from anything I have ever stayed in before. Staff was surly, Rooms tiny, beds 3rd world, and breakfast was poor. iIt was easy to find for it was right next to the Interstate and the trucks used air brakes all night. \n NOT WHAT I WOULD EXPECT ON A travel agency CITE.
The staff in evening are very rude. I called to make a reservation on a return visit and they hung up on me or after 2 min of ringing no answeer
We have stayed her often during the past 10 years traveling between Nebraska and Jackson, Wyoming. Great water pressure in the showers. Comfortable beds (firm mattress.) Friendly and accommodating staff. Convenient to I-80. We do not recommend the cafe at the adjacent truck stop. In July, 2007 we had ridiculously slow service, tables weren't bussed, etc. Our favorite place to eat is Rose's Lariat--the best Mexican food ever if you don't mind small quarters and a funky atmosphere!
This was our first stay at this hotel. My biggest disappointment was the mattresses were too soft. It seems to be a trend with the newer hotels to get the pillow-top squishy-type mattresses, which may be liked by some, but are very bad for your back. Otherwise, the room was nicely appointed and decorated. There was a microwave, refrigerator and bar sink. The other thing which was an immediate turn-off was that there was a curly hair on the toilet seat. A quick inspection by housekeeping could have averted this disaster!
so our stay was limited, but the staff was very nice, hotel clean, beds were good. Breakfast was good. Easy to find. Had a microwave and refrigerator which is nice. Would definately stay here again.
This is a very nice hotel for Rawlins. Highly exceeded our expectations and we would stay here again without hesitation. Very clean rooms, everything is new and fresh, very attentive staff. Very positive experience.
I got caught in a snow storm in May. This hotel was close to the freeway and it was the only one that I could see for the snow. The front desk lady made me feel welcome and cofortable on a stressful day of driving. I had just stayed in several Holiday Inn Express hotels on a 3 week trip. This did not have the newer decor and felt old. The price seemed high but the others in the area I found out later were the same.
What a pleasant surprise! When driving into Rawlins, we thought there wouldn't be a nice place to sleep, especially with a dog. The staff had cookies and dog biscuits waiting at the front desk. The rooms were new and clean, and the manager made sure to help us find a family-friendly restaurant for dinner. Would definately stay again, even without our dog!
Our reservation specifically said we had a no smoking room but our room had 4 ash trays and reeked of smoke. The entire building smelled like cigarettes, giving me and my family a sore throat. Fortunately this was a quick stop-over on a cross-country trip, but I'd avoid this town next time I drive this road...or try a different hotel.
Very new facility; staff was so accomodating, warm cookies waiting for you. Room was fantastic. Absolutely stay there again.
We stayed there after the I-80 was shut down and we had no where to go. Instead of just providing a place to sleep the staff was amazing and provided a mini home giving food and a warm place to stay
This is probably the best you'll find in Rawlins! Very new hotel. Room, pool, and hot tub were clean. Staff was competent and attentive. Breakfast was great (included bacon!). Easy location just off I-80 and pretty quiet. We'd stay here again.
I will stay here again when I travel tp this area.
Nothing in particular Location, set up of room.
It was a fairly clean, decent place to stay if you are just spending the night. For an extended stay I would choose somewhere else unless you are working with a tight budget. The price was great!
I was at least able to take a shower. Everything. Once in double queen room that was supposed to be king bed room. Broken headboard on one of the queen beds and shattered screen on tv. Complimentary breakfast was old coffee and old donuts. 2 thumbs down for travelodge.
Not much- only place with vacancy when we started looking. Room was run down and floor was matted carpet. Reserved 3 non-smoking rooms; but got only 1 as non-smoking. Other two had that smoke stench. Couldn't understand the gal at check-in due to accent.
When I arrived at this hotel, I was shocked! Did not look nothing like the photos from the reviews! I usually do not complain because I realize life is sometimes hard, however, this hotel was horrible. The staff were nice though! Where do I begin? Very worn out hotel! Room was not clean. Bathroom was shoddy. Towels actually had stains! Breakfast was a loaf of bread with butter and packaged jam. Was very scared of the milk. I'm so sorry, but I was very upset!
The staff was none existence. It felt like a ghost town.
Room okay not worth what I paid. Do not eat the free hot breakfast still have not recovered.
I liked that they had a good variety of items for breakfast and the room was okay as long as you didn't look down. The rest of the room was what you would expect from a Days Inn (fairly nice) but the flooring in both the bathroom and bed area made you want to keep your shoes on. The carpet should have been replace a long time ago and the linoleum had a hole in it and was bulging. It was wierd why they didn't refurbish the entire room at the same time.
For the cheap price it was a good deal. Breakfast was good. Bed was ok but pillow was really hard. Overall good for the price.
My stay at the Days Inn in Rawlins was a horrible experience. I pulled in kind of late, the front desk attendant was nice enough, but I pulled around to the door to get to my room and felt so creeped out. Bad lightening, guys hanging outside the door and just overall bad feeling. I practically ran to my room and locked the door behind me. The beds were ok, but the room was very, VERY outdated. The carpet was even pulling up in most places. I would not walk around on the floor without shoes. I had to unplug a lap just to plug in my phone. It was a ridiculous stay, I would not suggest this hotel to anyone, it wasn't super cheap, but by far the most horrid hotel I've ever stayed in. Save your money, keep driving.
Good service for the price. Could improve a little on the breakfast.
nice & cheap. apparently used to be a classy joint. better than the avg for this town.
There was nothing horrible or wonderful about this Day's Inn...it was an OK place to stay. I would stay there again.
This is an older hotel but ok for the price (provided you booked ahead of time on line). The smell of the nearby refinery was not pleasant. However I don't know what the hotel can do about it. Breakfast was good with plenty of choices.
We booked this hotel for two nights--for out trip out to Yellowstone and for the trip back. We didn't stay here for the trip back. The location is abysmal. The hotel smelled bad (like cigarette smoke). The room was not very clean or comfortable. The breakfast was the high point since they had a waffle maker. They did have a very nice man working the breakfast room who probably is not making near enough money for all his effort. I would only stay at this place again if I was so tired I was about to crash and it was the nearest open place.
Though the hotel was inexpensive, I expected more. The staff was chatty but kept forgetting things I had already told them about my reservation and travel plans. The entire hotel smelled like it had previously been smoker friendly, perhaps because it was so old. Not a horrible experience but I will not use this hotel again.
room was booked at a special offer price that was 20.00 dollars below other similar establishments. The room was clean, comfortable, quiet and the staff was very helpful. Sorry I missed the free breakfast.
I agree with the other people on here and not the last gentleman. The hotel was great. We got to know some of the staff, they are very friendly. We had no problems at all. My son spilled something so we used all the towels cleaning up the mess. When I called the front desk to get some extra towels they had them to us within 3 minutes, and they helped us clean up the mess some more. Breakfast alone at this hotel probably saved us $*. We ate biscuits and gravy, waffles, fruit, cereal all to our hearts delight, and noone ever came and told us to stop or anything else. Would absoltely stay here again.
I enjoyed that the room was indeed a large, comfortable sweet. I also liked that the priced at the onsite restairant and bar were quite reasonable.

The bartender was very friendly The heater was broken the first night we stayed and with it being 4 degrees out, that was a bummer!
I liked the fact that it had an outdoor entrance along with an indoor entrance. I did not like the fact that when you took a shower it flooded the whole bathroom floor. The shower is beautiful but it was not built correctly to drain water fast enough to work with the pace of the water coming out of the shower. This is a hazard.
Better than stars indicated
It was available Mattress on both beds were bigger than the box springs by 18' wide so if you get to close to the edge you fall right off. Who allows this to go on especially at a premium price. Hair all over shower walls, carpet dirty, don't stay here. This is not a 7+
Nothing Not clean. Not safe feeling. When we pulled in there were homeless looking people (about 10) sitting in front of the building. Staff was not friendly and there is no way that this is a 2 star hotel. 1 star would be a compliment.
Nothing. Had to switch rooms time 3x. Place was deserted and clerk initially gave us 2 doubles (a couple)! Then the King room's heater didn't work. The third room was a queen and was less quality than the others. The wifi and toilet didn't work.
When I went to grab an apple at my continental breakfast my thumb sank into the rotten soft spot on the back. The room want very clean. It was hard to find. Hardly anything to choose from at the breakfast.
Room was clean, easy check in, liked door to outside, good fridge furniture in room was crowded & awkward, carpet wasn't tacked down in front of outer door so interfered w/ opening, hallway so dim I could hardly find where to insert my room card (can't believe this meets code), breakfast not worth the effort
Great hotel for the price being in Rawlins. No complaints at all.
N/A Breakfast was supposed to be included but at 6:30am there was nothing out, not even coffee. We had to yell just to wake up the staff to be able to check out. We ended up getting back on our road trip without food or even a cup of coffee!
Foust handles were coming apart, room temp hard to control, shower not good and tube bad, Etc. Staff + everything above!

Very old and not very updated. Never felt as though it was very clean
NOTHING! Do not stay here This was honestly the most discussing place I have ever stayed! The room smelled of cigarette smoke and rot. The sheets had burn marks in them, the rug looked like it had never been vacuumed, the shower had scum all over the tub, the air conditioner was
I did see that they actually change the sheets between guests. Someone had apparently loaded the comments I read about this hotel. They reflected a better motel than I experienced. The motel is an old building. The owner had tried to make it attractive, but it just didn't have the bones needed.
Nice and quiet motel. Staff could have been friendlier. Only one employee, a housekeeper, was friendly and would acknowledge your presence and smile.
The front desk lady was very friendly, and accommodating, since I was not sure if I could check out on time, she agreed to let me check out at noon at no additional cost. Great internet service and the room was clean.
nothing what a dump. they did not honor the price guarantee. the price went up after 2 days being there. the floor structure was spongy like the wood was rotten.
Way over priced
The cost. I was broke and they were cheap. Bed bugs in the first room we were in. Blood stains on the sheets. Crumbs on the bed spread and carpet. Very cold. Heater was very loud and barely worked. Fan in the bathroom came on with the light and was so loud it actually hurt our ears.
