Cons: Just a small thing... the front desk clerk on our second morning would not change the channel on the lobby TV. I wanted to watch espn and have coffee and he stated he wasn't allowed to and had to keep on the 'local' channel ! I was the only one there :(

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved this place! It was huge with tons of room! We loved having two separate areas for the bathroom, one shower and one toilet so multiple people could use the restroom/shows at the same time. We loved the couch bed and the tables to put things on. The place was super tidy and we felt for the price we paid, this was better than we expected! Curious what the peak season during the summer costs for this same room! We loved the fact the rooms could be adjoining and felt they thought of their customers by putting plates/silverware in the room.
Cons: Fridge was kind of small, not big enough for a pizza box! Hat is the only thing I can think of!!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Rooms were very nice, clean. Loved the fact that they set up a viewing area for the Navy graduation!

Pros: Friendly staff.
Cons: Do not take a room on the 5th (last) floor, the mechanical equipment on the roof are very noisy. A/C unit in the room was noisy.

Cons: Honestly there was nothing good about this place. I went here with my family and 2 were little children. We had gotten charged with 250$ fee for smoking when everyone was non smokers. They wouldn't listen to us. They were very rude and ignorant. Would not recommend this stay! The employees be little you and make you feel Not welcomed what so ever. We were all non smokers and I felt like we were treated like criminals.
8.2 Excellent
Pros: The best thing about this hotel it its location, its surroundings have great places to eat and it right behind a superstore for purchasing supplies while you stay.
Cons: The guest Landry is small, only has a single washer and dryer. The way the staff handled my billing and checkout caused me to have problems with this hotel and will probably percent me from returning.

Pros: The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable after a long day of traveling with an infant. I really liked that if you forgot or couldn't pack an amenity like a razor, you could go down to the front desk and ask for a complimentary one. The location is great too, not far from all the attractions in the area. I also appreciated that check out was at noon.
Cons: That we couldn't stay longer, haha.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: Very reasonable price. Friendly staff, comfy beds, great breakfast!
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff & the Manager were awesome!
9.1 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was free & the rooms were clean
Cons: They pool was outside.
9.1 Excellent
Pros: The title says it all. We are a family of Type-A neat freaks, and my mother sent my sister and I with her black light equipment to check the cleanliness of the room. There were some small spots here and there near the bathroom (weird spots that may get overlooked for cleaning like the ceiling and a light switch), but not anywhere in the sleeping section of the room. Sheets, pillows, and comforters were spotless. The cleanliness and general upkeep of the rooms made for a very comfy stay- we could hardly get out of bed to do more exploring the next day.
Cons: I only stayed in this hotel for one night, so I may not have experienced as much as I could. The lady at the front desk could have been a little more friendly and personable, but the rest of the staff was very nice.
8.2 Excellent
Pros: Over all was a good stay it was only over night stay clean place good staff close to the mall as well as other business and restaurants
Cons: Didn't like the fact majority of parking is for diamond members also the beds where extremely uncomfortable as well as pillows also the vent in the restroom went non stop and was loud either than that over all good stay
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location

Cons: The hallway odor very uncomfortable. I would probably not go back to this motel because ofmthis issue.
7.7 Good
Pros: Place is clean. The recipionist was very nice. Morning breakfast was great.
Cons: Looks like they have some remodeling going on in the hallway that made the place look less classy. Middle of the night around 3 am some guests in the rooms next to mine were very very loud and I don't think anyone said anything to them.
3.4 Mediocre
Pros: GOOD LOCATION AS LONG AS YOU DON'T MIND IT NOT BEING CLEAN...
Cons: POOL/JACUZZI WAS DISGUSTING THERE WAS SCUM AND MOLD GROWING ON THE WALLS OF THE POOL, IN FILTERS, AROUND WINDOWS. THE TOP OF THE POOL LOOKED LIKE THE WATER WAS SOLID THAT HASN'T BEEN CLEANED IN MONTHS. MY HUSBAND BROUGHT IT TO THE ATTENTION OF THE FRONT OFFICE BUT THEY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO!!!! HALLS/ELEVATOR REEKED OF SMOKE...
6.2 Good
Pros: We liked the location to six flags great America, and the free continental breakfast.
Cons: Our room looked like it needed an overhaul. There were places where the paint was chipped and it was painted over. The metal on the sprinkler system was rusting and even leaving some rusty streaks on the wall. Our friends had a non smoking room and said it was horribly smelling like smoke.

7.1 Good
Pros: Great breakfast. Staff kind and engaging. Comfortable bed.
Cons: Many loud young people, late into the nights. Not okay for business travelers with appointments the next day.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I will put it this way, it was a lot better than my stay at the Hard Rock hotel in Chicago! I will definatly be staying there again in the future.
6.2 Good
Pros: The staff at the front desk was very kind. There was a younger girl who didn't seem like she knew very much of what she was doing but there was another girl, Rose I think, who was very knowledgable and accommodating.
Cons: When I got to the hotel, there was kids running and screaming in the lobby. It was very loud and parents were just letting their kids run around as they please. Two almost hit me, but being so close to Six Flags, it is understandable that this is more of a family location. I checked in and they sent me to my room, when I got there, neither of my key cards worked. I put my bags down and tried again, figuring I may have tried too quickly. As I was trying again, I heard someone cough in the room. Went back downstairs to the lobby and the front desk called the room, only to find they had a mix up and someone was in the room...thank god my key card did not work and I didn't walk in on someone! They gave me a new room and once again my key card didn't work (their system for assigning cards was not working well). Had to have maintenance follow me up to my room so he could check the problem. We finally got in my room with his key, only to find out it was a double bed room when I requested a king bed, so once again...had to go back down to the lobby. Upon my return, Rose was very apologetic and said she was very embarrassed. She upgraded my room, gave me two drink cards for the hotel restaurant as well as a dinner card. She definitely made the situation much better and she handled it professionally. It was quite a long and irritating situation but Rose handled it well and made the necessary steps to make it better.
9.7 Excellent

Cons: The only hotel I've stayed that doesn't have a safe in the room or a refrigerator and I've stayed at many over the years.
7.3 Good
Pros: The location was great. The staff was excellent. Our room was clean. The staff was very friendly taking you to and picking you up from Six Flags.
Cons: The walls were too thin....could hear all of the bathrooms nearby. The breakfast was included in our price but it would have been too expensive otherwise. The rates were too high overall.....I guess you are paying for the location.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great staff! Bartender was amazing. Front desk was friendly. I'll be back.
Cons: Tacos were average. Breakfast was terrible. Pancakes were under cooked. Eggs were soggy.

2.0 Mediocre
Pros: Close to Great America
Cons: The elevator has an EXPIRED safety inspection certification! The sofa in my room (211) had what appeared to be blood stains on it. The room across the hall kept me up all night (small children being load.. At 3am!) and the vending machines didn't work (ate my money).
2.8 Mediocre

Pros: Everything was great. I stayed with my dad for two nights there. It was very comfortable and clean. The price was very good. The staff was kind as well. They have truck parking which is a big plus. There's a train station near by so you can head downtown for $15. I would stay here again, no doubt. It was amazing. I have zero complaints. We were even given a room so we could watch our truck.
Cons: The breakfast wasn't set out. We had to ask for them to set it out. All it is is toast, cereal, and coffee. Its just a continental breakfast. There's a McDonald's very close. You can go walking. There's also a Mexican restaurant which is very tasty.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: For the price we paid for five college age kids, it was worth it. The room was also large enough for us to fit a regular air mattress. You do get what you pay for here, but it was a great place to crash for the night after a day at Six Flags.
Cons: The only complaint that my group had was that there was some mold in the bathtub. That was the only complaint I heard.
5.0 Okay
Cons: The entrance to the hotel was thru the parking lot of another business and somewhat confusing. The hotel itself was very hot and humid when we arrived, but our room cooled down quickly when we turned on the air.

3.3 Mediocre
Pros: The memory foam mattress.
Cons: The staffers very rude, the building, maintenance
6.3 Good
Pros: Beds were comfortable.
Cons: Decor was very dated and worn.
4.5 Okay
Pros: Location was good in relation to Gurnee Mills.
Cons: Facilities overall were rather poor, with badly outdated furniture and a generally run-down appearance in the room we were given. The pool was very small and there was almost no room around the pool for sitting. The only mirrors in the room were in the bathroom and the room itself was very small. There was also a booger stuck on the wall just below the bathroom mirror - nasty. If your standards are above what you've read here, do yourself a favor and pony up a little extra money for a better hotel.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Nothing fancy, just a clean, comfortable room at a really good price.
Cons: A little old and needed a few repairs here and there.
4.3 Okay
Pros: Close to Six Flags where we were going each day.
Cons: The room smelled awful. We had to plunge the toilet 3 times in 2 days. The furniture was so broken down. The recliner in the room wasn't even something we could sit in. The free breakfast was very minimal in choices. If all you want to do is go in your room, sleep, then wake up and leave the lower cost is worth it. Otherwise I would go somewhere else. This was the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. We won't be returning.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: They were there when I needed somethings
Cons: Washcloths wasn't that clean.
9.1 Excellent
Pros: Loved the room
Cons: N/a
7.6 Good
Pros: Room was a little dated but had the important stuff necessary for a quick stay. Check in was really easy, let us check in early and pick up the room key later in the day. FREE parking within 15 minute walk to the amusement park.
Cons: No coffee maker in the room and the free breakfast was a total joke. Juice, coffee, cheese danish, and bread for toast was all that was offered. Looked like bananas might have been out at some point but didn't have any left when we got to it. One ice machine available in the basement also.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was clean and beds were comfortable. The remainder of the hotel appeared clean as well
Cons: the room did have a small hole in the wall up near the ceiling and what appeared to be a motion detector in the corner of the wall which I thought was odd. also kept tripping over a large wrinkle in the carpet that went almost the full length of the room. The air conditioning didn't work very well, kept adjusting the temperature on the thermostat but never cooled the room to the lower setting I had put it on. Lack of parking, we parked in what we thought was part of the hotels parking lot, but were left a note on our vehicle saying no overnight parking or it would be towed. I think the hotel should have informed me where I could or couldn't park when I checked in. There were no available parking spots in what IS the hotel parking lot, so I didn't have a choice but park where I did the first night of my stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Front desk mellisa and Angela are amazing people and. Wet very helpful I really recommend this hotel
3.4 Mediocre
Pros: First of all, finding the hotel is impossible. There are no signs outside that day Super 8. The hotel is called The Grand Hotel, but don't be fooled by that name, it's far from Grand. The room was very small with VERY old furniture. If it weren't for the flat screen TV I would have thought I had been transported back to the 1950s. The room was probably vacuumed and dusted but it still had the feel as if it wasn't clean. I can't say that it e was a dirty room either. I did decide to stay since I got in late, but I wish I would have spent $20 more for a nicer room elsewhere,
Cons: Just not worth the money.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was clean. The bed was comfortable.
Cons: Walls are too thin, you can hear neighbors conversations and they weren't even that loud.
2.8 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Immediately when walking in you get overwhelmed with the scent of chlorine, but they don’t have a pool. One hallway smells horribly like cat pee. One reason I stayed here was because it said they had a fitness center, but even that was “out of order” no big loss, all it had in there was a treadmill from 1982. Then there was my room, which had several holes on the closet door, which also couldn’t be accessed because it was directly up against of of the beds. Would not recommend for the price. Go to gurnee and stay there, nicer and cleaner area with better hotels.

Pros: Everything was clean nice and well kept up. The staff behind the front desk would do anything to make us comfortable and very welcoming, loved the hospitality we got from the desk staf.
Cons: The only thing I did not like was how rude the maintenance man was, he has glasses and long dark hair, he was very rude and would not give a time or day to help you and if he did it was like out was going to kill him to do something and the do not disturb sign doesn't mean nothing to him, he still knocked on our door at 8:30 in the morning a few times and lid we had a13 month old little girl that was asleep till he did that. Sorry if you don't like your job then quit don't take it out on your paying customers.

4.2 Okay
Pros: nice size bed pool
Cons: snotty desk attendant creepy white guy in white beat up van asked if i knew where to find drugs House keeper barged in on me and my family
6.0 Good
Pros: red carpet inn is the most accessible and practical place to stay when you visit the u.s.navy base in great lakes, il chicago.
Cons: none that i could think of, because we only stayed for a short time to attend the u.s navy ceremony/graduation at great lakes, il.
6.0 Good
Pros: The location of the hotel was perfect for attending my sons graduation, gas station within same parking lot, restaurant all right there on location. Just a mile down the road from where I neeeded to be.
Cons: Cleanliness was poor. The bedspread had cigarette holes and I was in a non smoking room.
5.1 Okay
Cons: The beds were too soft, to the point that both my wife and I backs were sore in the morning. There was a fold up spare bed in the corner of the room. we didn't request it but I took a look at it and saw that there was clumps of hair on it, as if an animal had used it last. The toilet was problematic, the chain inside was too long for the handle and it constantly was getting caught in the opening, so the the water would continue to try to fill the tank. I noticed once that it ran like that for almost an hour, until I fixed it. We did request a non smoking room, didn't notice any smells, but there were burn holes in the blankets.
6.8 Good
Pros: Staff were very helpful and accommodating, shuttle service to Navy graduation was quick and easy. Location was easy to find and convenient for graduation. While everything in the hotel was thrift store quality, the bed was comfy, the water was hot, and the heater in the room worked fine.
Cons: This hotel is definitely being used as a cash cow by the owners. First let me say that we didn't have high expectations based on the reviews of others. Yes, the sheets had holes in them, there was a light bulb missing in the room, and there was mildew in the grout around the tub. The painting contractor didn't clean up his goofs with the roller so there were interesting dark red marks on the tub, shower curtain, and wall. The toilet paper holder was broken and the floor under the toilet was soft so the toilet was a bit wobbly (and was clogged when we got there, but a plunger solved that problem in short order). Having said that, the desk and cleaning staff do their utmost to ensure guests are as well cared for as they can. I've received poorer service from $300/night hotels.
