We had to pay extra for the bathrobes!!! In a 5 stars hotel???!!!
Beautiful rooms & pool, good value for money Not international Kempinski standard in terms of service, breakfast, restaurant etc.
Excellent friendly and helpful staff
state-of-the art hotel. the bathroom was bigger than most regular hotel rooms. since it was out-of-season, the area was pretty deserted. but if you like holding hands with your partner and walking cold, windswept beaches, run, don't walk to this hotel in winter.
We liked the Hospitality of all the staff The Buffet lunch/dinner is just not good enough for a 5 star Hotel, 3 star OK. it is also not hot enough!! The spa treatments were not good value for monies, as the people were very inexperienced!!
every thing in this hotel it was perfect
the hotel is great...everything is new and shiny they accept only bulgarian money
The room was nice. The hotel is located in the more classy part of Golden Sands. The breakfast area is massive with hundreds of people eating breakfast. Since we were there after peak season I can not imagine during the season how much activity there would be. That is a bit much for me at 9:30am in the morning.
Everything. Great experience. No.
The hotel enjoys a good central location near both The Sea Gardens and Varna centre, both a few minutes walk away. Room were unbelievably hot, air conditioning was poor and slept with the window open.
wonderful.......that is enough!
Very nice hotel, great facilities like fitness, indoor pool and professional spa services. Compared to other so-called 5 star hotels around Varna, this was the only one that would resemble such a rating on an international scale. If you get one of the upper floor rooms you have an amazing unobstructed view via a full glass front on the ocean. Breakfast is quite diverse and plentiful. Includes indoor and outdoor parking facilities were helpful. The location is also great since it is close enough to the center so you can simply walk there, however it is not really in the middle of it so it is convenient to get there by car. The in-house dining options were very good (as to be expected), on top of it the prices were surprisingly reasonable. Internet was a plus as well, always workin and fast The quality of the service personnel was a bit sketchy. The level of English of most staff was very limited (to be fair, this is common around here) so interactions were kept to a minimum. Most staff was however friendly and helpful, while others gave the impression to be annoyed by our presence.
Everything! Excellant food in restaraunt. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great location for the city( only 10 min walk to centre.) Definitely recommend and will visit again. Absolutely nothing!
I had a very pleasant 6 day stay at your hotel... absolutely excellent until the last night of my stay ... a guest occupied the room adjacent and I could clearly hear the TV and conversation coming from there. as above .... did'nt like having to listen to the noise from next room..
charming hotel, nice location
the man who greeted us & helped us with the parking and the bags was a great intro to the fab service. Awesome views from our room over the city, very cheap hotel but felt like a luxury suite nothing
Perfect location, clean room and hotel, good internet connection, nice and professional staff
Nicely located size and smell of room / reception on first floor /
Location, clean room
during my stay at splendid hotel i found the staff both pleasant and very helpful breakfast....it is not quite english style i would prefer to see my eggs being cooked in front of me not left on a hotplate but the locals seem to enjoy
Helpful and friendly staff
Location and room
I've tried all better hotels in Varna, but this one is the best. Sometimes stuff is not very smart. For example they offer can not help you regarding internet problems.
Its location to every place - Beach, City cenrte shopping, Fantastic view of sea. To get all these in one is fantastic, and good value for money. NONE
Everything was fine with my 3-night stay at the Interhotel Cherno More, in Sept., 2010. I believe that the hotel is a good value for the money, and I would stay there again. My room was fine (large & clean), with a balcony, and great views of the city and sea. The bathroom was also large, and clean. The tv received a bunch of different English channels. The morning buffet was served in the restaurant on the top floor, with great views of the city. Also, there is a bar on the top floor that opens after 16:00, with live music after 23:00 (at least on weekends). The hotel has a great central location, near the end of the Pedestrian Zone, close to the Sea Garden. Everything is within walking distance, both in the city, & along the sea. A couple of things to be aware of: (1) When I checked in, the hotel expected immediate payment for the room, in order to get my passport back. Otherwise, they apparently hold onto it until payment is made. (For me it was not a problem. After I went up to my room and verified that it was okay, I went right back down to the reception, paid for the 3 nights for my room, and got my passport back.) (2) Despite the indications on this and other hotel-booking websites of "on-site" sauna, gym, massage, etc., these facilities are apparently not at the hotel itself. I was told that they were in a separate facility "next door", but did not verify this, nor check prices.
Cental Horribel breakfast, staff and hotel is totally out og date.
Only the situation is good. Staff was nice but it's not comfortable, too old...
Good food and clean rooms. There was something wrong with the elevator from time to time.. My room was at the 7th floor..
The room, the view, the food were great. They have serious problems with the elevators(only one was working, there was no AC in it, it was really slow), there are also problems with the stairs towards the beach (no light at night, some stairs need to be fixed etc). I would not recommend it for a longer stay, but for a couple of days it's fine.
Big rooms, nice washrooms, nice view, parking Far from center, poor variety of food
The entertaining team = young and lovely, the staff hotel = very kind, the food =very good and variety, the pool =clean The internal bars are only for smokers.
a nice hotel, very good food, fruits looked a little bad, peaches and watermelon--bad bad. please repair the second elevator, the soccer field has no sand on it; the juices are all chemical, nothing natural; make the pool program longer to 20.00, the AC did not work in more rooms, you probably turned off the chiller to save electicity because it was september, bad ideea.
The rooms were nice i thought the hotel was very noisy at night and the staff at times were unhelpful and rude.
Friendly staff, clean, excellent food, good value for money, lovely pools. Would have liked a facility on each floor to get a drink as there were signs showing that food and drink had not to be taken out of the lounge area up the stairs and we respected this, but would have liked a hot drink in our room.
*Excellent food / service / clean rooms / safe parking lot/ entertainment /pool/ position of the hotel/individual air conditioning in every room. Super entertainment Team (Krassi/Dani/Chefo)...If your goal is relaxation than this is the best Hotel to be in Golden Sands Let's say that the local drinks (soft and anything beside the beer) are not that on Romanian taste....other people seemed to enjoy it very much....
the food was excellent, wide variety, the room was huge, we had 2 bathrooms, and it was kept very clean. the animation team was energetic and fun, enjoyed the karaoke! hotel is very near the shops, just have to go down 88 steps! the lift kept breaking down and we were on the 7th floor.
This was our second stay at this hotel for this year. The only negative issue about this hotel is the quality of stuff, which is not so helpful as you would expect from a five star hotel.
The hotel is new and gave a verry pleasent sensation.
great value for money
The spa facilities and standard of accomodation was first class. The food was also good and the hotel was really well managed and very good value for money. The hotel would be considered of a high standard anywhere in the world and I would have no hesitation in recomending it. Resort was almost entirely closed in October only two hotels open and no bars or restaurants. we did however have a superb beach almost to ourselves.
Executive studio was great !! Staff - very nice and helpful, everybody speaks English Indoor pool - very small; breackfast was very good, but we had lunch - and , as it was buffet, we did not have any meat to eat - only vegetables, cheese and some sausages. We did not find anything suitable for our 5 years old kid...
The room was better than expected, we had a small kitchen area, two large beds, a settee, dinning table and chairs, a large balcony, a large shower plus a bath and two toilets, yes two. The evening meal was a good selection of food, but the food that should have been hot was luke warm but apart from that it was good. Breakfast was good
The hotel is new, close to the beach, with many swimming pools; the deluxe studio rooms are large and well equipped Although the hotel is very clean, insects make it through the rooms somehow, but I am sure the managers will be quick to address that
I liked the very spacious rooms and the large pools. Food is not at an adequate level given a 5 stars hotel. Travelling to the lobby all the time to get free internet access was painful and unnecessary IMO. Range of TV channels and pay-tv movies could use significant expansion (e.g. no cartoons channel; no cartoons pay-tv). Other minor things were nuisances.
The hotel is new, looks amazingly good, very modern design with all the facilities. The rooms are big, internet connection is available and free of charge, the spa and the huge swimming pools are a great place to spend your time in. Definatelly is the best hotel i ever went in. Excellent breakfast & cleaning service. The staff, at least the reception one, doesnt speak English so good..also internet is available in the rooms, but no wireless.
huge room, very comfy, pleasantly decorated, close to the sea, nice breakfast and dinner with many options to chose from, pleasant lobby bar with an excellent bartender a strange situation - a chambermaid knocked on the door and decided to lecture us how we should have used the "extremely expensive" tea facilities. to be fair, the rest of the staff were very polite and helpful, but this inappropriate for a "grand hotel" experience has put a new face on things
The location is close to the beach, the hotel is large and clean, in the rooms and also the reception/lobby/entertainment center. They have wireless internet, but only at the reception and lobby, and the parking is free. The pool is OK, and they also have a park inside. Daily entertainment programs are organized at the pool and at the restaurant. The food wasn't extraordinary, and the full board (with the lunch at the plate) wasn't a good ideea. Juices from breakfast are of poor quality, only water is drinkable. You must pay for drinks in the evening. Also you have to pay for towel and mattress at the pool. The hotel hardly qualifies for a 4 stars.
The Spa facilities are really nice. The cleaning services were rather superficial.
Friendly staff. Very good location. Our room was too close to the elevators and there was too much noise coming from them. There was no internet across the whole hotel, only around the reception area. There were no black out curtains in all rooms, which made it difficult to sleep in the morning because of the bright light.
The stuff was very frendly. I like most the big balcony, the free parking, the bathroom was clean. Romanian TV channel. The food was OK (especially the dinner' soup). Nice pool and garden (if you have kids, otherwise why you go to the see to stay in the pool:)? The TV chanells transmission quite poor. Lunch was a bit poor. They do not accept Euros so fix rate increased about 10% room price so from 46E => 51E (still OK) for a 4* with 3 meals. I stood in Brussels for 125E in a 4* (actally 2*).
The receptionists were quite helpful and service-minded. A room for 18 euros per night is a good deal, thanks to the low-season. I did not like the restaurant maintenance. The glasses at the breakfast buffet were full of stains and the salt shakers were wet objecting the free flow of salt.
Wonderful views over the Black Sea and the beach from the room. Free internet use. Bright breakfast room with one of the better breakfast offerings we've seen in Bulgaria. There could be more seating available in the breakfast room as it was close to full on each morning of our stay, despite breakfasting at different times. Some of the staff were cordial, but not overly friendly. (Others were very welcoming and helpful.)
friendliness of staff; helpful staff; cleanliness; excellent sea front location; good air conditioning; quiet even though it is on a main road no tea & coffee facilities in the room but there is an excellent lobby bar where you can buy drinks.
Excellent breakfast quality and staff service The AC system was prematurely turned off, despite warm outside temperatures. The room was very hot. In order to maintain reasonable room temperature, the windows had to remain opening, which allowed outside noise and insects to enter during the night. Desk clerk argued that the temperature was "just fine" for her, but, of course, the AC was on in the main floor lobby.
Location to beach and amenities excellent. Staff very friendly - Hotel lent us beach towels at no cost or even a deposit.
Fine hotel, nice and friendly staff.
We were welcomed by friendly staff and checked in without any problems. It was peaceful, relaxing and very clean with a sea view.
service and cleanliness, also the breakfast
A beautifully done hotel with everything new, but in a very traditional style. Location ideal for walking around Varna sea front and main shopping areas Only very small problem was finding the entrance to the car park as many of the small streets around it have been closed or made into one way.
Maybe the best hotel in Eastern Europe and one of the best in Europe. HUGE rooms, excellent service, best location, free parking and wireless and wired internet, a great cafe. What else missing? Nothing really.
The hotel was beautiful - very grand. The free upgrade was also a bonus!
I travel extensively to many places throughout the world and this is hotel definately provides the best service I have ever experienced, at first it is a little overwhelming because we are not use to such formality here in Australia but it does not take long to get use to being treated like royalty. The quality and quantity of the food is also excellent. I would highly recommend this hotel to those who are extremely particular about service and to those who have a special occassion and want to experience the VIP treatment. would be great if tea and coffee making facilities were available in the room and also a morning newspaper would be nice.
Excellent hotel in the middle of Varna, close to shopping, pedestrian zone, very good for business. An 'old world' atmosphere, but in the best possible way. Excellent, fast and free internet connection, nice big rooms, a-la-cart breakfast, very very reasonable prices. Thoroughly recommended. Not applicable.
Beautifully furnished and comfortable, staff very attentive, restaurant wonderful, smack in middle of town parking a bit hit and miss,
Good central location, good rooms, however it was not possible to sleep with the windows open due to the noise outside. The air con was very effective if a bit noisy. Most of the staff were very helpful. Some of the staff were more willing to help than others, one of the wine waiters was very helpful and gave good local knowledge of the wines and cheeses of the area, however the next evening the other chap obviously couldn't be bothered with us.
We are Korean couple exploring 5 star hotels in Eastern Europe. Great Location if you want to explore the central area of Varna. Close to the Roman bath and the church. luxurious room with superb interiors from the bed to the bathroom. good 5 star rooms. You have to take up the stairs in order to come up to the lobby. We had to pull up our baby stroller every time.
We never tire of this hotel, hen we are not staying here we visit for afternoon tea, it's a lovely place with professional, switched on staff. Even though we have a house in Bulgaria we still try to stay here at least one night just for the pleasure of it, guarded car park. Same as before, hotel perfect, pavements on the approach road are dreadful.
Spa Dirty carpet in my room
all the staff were very helpful and friendly, the public areas and pool area were kept very clean and tidy at all times. In hotel prices were very reasonable for a 4star . at the time we stayed there were lots of young children there and they did crowd the pool.
Good location and nice attitude of the hotel staff. Execellent breakfast and nice pool (indoor and outdoor pool)
only complaint would be about the breakfast, not a very good selection, but in saying that everything else about the hotel was excellent
the room was spacious and clean and I've appreciated the pool there were sparely chaise longues by the pool, insufficient
spa, pool, sauna, fitness pool could be bigger
location and comfort swiming pool to small comparing to the capacity of the hotel
Nice new rooms with quality close to a 5* hotel. Small children chairs in restaurant. Underground parking. The indoor pool with warm water was very appreciated by our daughter. Diversify a little more the food.
Made to feel very welcome - all the staff were friendly and spoke english very well.
The hotel interior design, cleanliness of the rooms and public areas. The staff can improve their skills and language (english), more lounge chairs by the pool where needed.
The staff were very polite. The room was big and clean. There was an baby bed in the room for our baby!
Helpfulness of staff No
Nice location close to the park and the main shopping street. Room was clean and comfortable, located on the same floor as the receptiondesk. Good breakfast. Free use of a PC with internet and wifi. It was a bit more expensive than the hotels we visited throughout Bulgaria, but the location was worth the money.
Very good possition close to pedestrian area and the sea. Room, probably, was just renowated and very clean. At first it was a bit complicated to find location of the hotel
The proximity of the sea garden and the beach to the hotel is great as you only walk 5 minutes to get to the seaside. Breakfast choice was very poor and once the buffet is finished, the staff did not refill. The hotel is located on a busy road so it is very noisy.
Friendly and polite staff . The room was very neglected!
The hotel is for a smokers because people smoke everywhere even during a breakfast...
friendly and helpful staff, good service
The pleasant staff
Located within city centre, walkable to major attractions, very close to beach. Very good breakfast. Staff was helpful Room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke although it was a non-smoking room. Also the shower didn't work properly.
I stayed in their studio for almost two weeks while looking for an apartment. The location gives quick access to the Sea Garden, beach and city center. The breakfast is nice, and the staff was friendly. Some spoke very good English and were helpful with questions. It is not a luxury hotel by any means, but everything works, is kept clean, and the price and value is hard to beat. There was very little street noise after 9 PM, at least in early spring. Speaking with several long term expats, many have stayed there and recommend it to their visitors. The taxi driver at the airport had not heard of it, but I had the address printed out, so he found it OK. The noise from the lift woke me up a couple times, but fortunately most people do not use it except when they have luggage. It is reaching the point where they should consider updating some furnishings, but everything functions. Smokers tended to congregate around the front door, which is typical in Bulgaria, but the inside did not smell of smoke.
Excellent location near by the city commercial center as well as the beach/park. It is no directionals from the main street so it is extremely difficult to find out the location when coming by car - my navigator was not helping me enough (I have also a Navon GPS bought this year) so it was a real nightmaire reaching the hotel - . Bathrooms sewage was working bad.
everything including the location, room and staff were fantastic, like a cool london hotel. I will stay here again. breakfast could be better.
All, it's an excellent hotel!!
The staffs were very friendly and I liked the interior design of this hotel, very modern and smart. Breakfast was also very good! None!
everything really I like the hotel
the hotel was clean and modern; the breakfast was lovely and the restaurant service impeccable; dinner was reasonably priced and the warm chocolate cake was to die for! the fitness facility was only an exercise bike and a treadmill in a very small, basement space; there was no matting on the floor outside the shower/sauna and it was very slippery when wet.
Perfect location, excellent service, great interior design.
In itself Hotel, so quiet and excellent located.
breakfest really poor
We enjoyed our five days at Modus Hotel a lot. The stuff is very friendly and helpful, there's this certain atmosphere you truly feel welcome which is actually very seldom to find in hotels. The hotel is in Varna itself, right at the city beach. If you feel like this huge party beach up of Varna, don't choose this hotel. If you feel like living right in a lively city, still only 3min away from a great beach, i would choose Modus Hotel again. No
It was cosily and fusion. N/A
It is a very good hotel, located on the beach, very close to the natural reservation Baltata. As it is the last resort on the southern part of Albena, it is a quiet place. The services are high quality and there is a lot of good food to eat. Each day there are new dishes so the food is not boring. If you look for a quiet place with good food and service this is what you are looking for.
I stayed at this hotel with my husband and my 3,6 years old boy,and for sure we will go back for another vacantion. The location is excellent, right on the beach, the pool quite large and clean, was plenty of food and very good, lots of fruits and cakes. The room was ok,little small, but clean. It worth the money we payed and even more. We'll comeback for sure.
Good food, free access to sunbeds Dinner time was too early (17.30 - 19.00). The room and bathroom were very small. No room cleaning in 3 days. No free alchoolic drinks on All Inclusive. Hard to find parking space.
Nice looking rooms, quiet Bad food. From 8 people in our group, 6 were suffering from food poisoning (very severe diarrhea, vomiting). Most of the vegetables had at least strange taste (sour). Very little variations of food type, and general impression of bad food.Glasses were always smelling like they were not so well washed. Parking is a nightmare. I spent 30 minutes driving in circles, so I can find a spot where I can leave my car for unloading the luggage. Then I had 2 spend 2h in the evening, literally hunting for a parking place. And parking is paid! TV stations selection is poor. It did not cover my needs at all. Mostly Bulgarian and German stations, that are dubbing most of their broadcast. If you do not speak those languages, then there is nothing much left.
worth the money
All the rooms have sea view and the food is very good and diverse. Great family hotel. Low quality drinks
Hotel well located, very close to the beach, good food, nice atmosphere. Not very spacy rooms (double ones), service not always friendly, no indoor pool.
Excellent stay, we very much enjoyed our short holiday - 3 nights at H Kaliakra. We had a standard room which had a double bed and a single bed for our child, plus a coach to sit comfortably while watching TV. They had 2 Romanian stations which was a nice surprise for us. 2 cups and an electric boiler for making coffee or tea in the room, plus the minibar with a few basic items offered within the all-inclusive package. Great food variety, very good drinks, even international ones, plus very polite and friendly staff. And not to forget to mention the evening shows which were quite entertaining, it started each evening at 9.30 pm.We would recommend this hotel to anyone, especially tourists looking to more family oriented hotel. yes, we were disappointed they do not have a sauna/jacuzzi facility.
We went there in May, right before the peak season. It was all-inclusive. Breakfast, lunch and dinner was all good, plenty of choices. Really value for money. Right at the beach, kids loved the kids pool with the slide. 1. The bathroom was a little smelly. 2. While the children were having a dart contest(game) with the animators(3 boys). When a young girl walked by, they asked the girl to join the game and ever since then they just kept flirting with her. Which I think they are unprofessional and shouldn't be doing in front of kids!
Due to arrival at 02.00am hotel security was waiting and guiding me into my room. Breakfast was perfect wih personal service! Location wunderfull and I was not able to join all the facillities due to my short stay! I promised myselv to use the Dallas Residence hotel again during my next stay! More Clear signs on the access roads to the hotel !
Room was soooo pretty! Very comfortable and clean. Excellent facilities - the pool was very warm and water clean. Outdoor jacuzzi is huge. Heaps of other games - chess, pool, foosball, boardgames, tennis court. Fitness room looks good on the internet but most of the machines don't work. There are light free weights however and a vibrating machine. They don't have someone at the pool bar as they say on the description, but a staff member occasionally comes by the pool to take orders.
Dallas Residence is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. It has all the qualities of an exquisite, elegant and refined hotel. The whole place is like a museum! We appreciated a lot the professional and helpful attitude of everybody there, and we would like to address special thanks to the receptioner/manager who was extremy nice, kind, helpful and friendly. This is the place where we will always come back to. Just keep the good work you are doing there! You are fantastic!
the quitness Cleaningness
central to the sights and shops of Varna / value for money there was a poor choice for breakfact on my first morning
95% of staff were fantastic. A couple of them, I reported. when asked for something, walked away muttering. Very rude. Heard them yell at old folk in the dining room. Loved the hairdressing salon. Friendly reception area. A very bad experience in some areas. As above. Most important, I'm quiet, independent. A poor sleeper, I wanted my herbal tea in the early hours, the joy of making myself a 6 am cuppa. It could not be done, they refused me a kettle. I had to buy my own kettle. Only hotel inAlso, the fridge was actually warm, because its shut in a small cupboard. I had to get ice daily to keep my medication cold.
Easy to find. Checking in and out was straight forward. Staff English speaking and helpful. Rooms nice size and clean. Euronews on T V in room was in French. At bar charged 2.30 Leva for 330 Ml bottle of Kamentza when on menu this charge was for 500 Ml. Did complain, staff agreed this was wrong but nothing was done about it.
Personnel was very friendly, fast in serving and accurate, rooms were impressively spacious, restaurant had the best food I enjoyed during my stay in Bulgaria. Small TV,extremely small and old TV suitable for two star hotel!!!
Airconditioning didn't work properly
the food was great; nice staff; good facilities no juice for breakfast; the elevator was too little
Wireless Internet access & efficiency/friendliness of staff.
Location and value for money Room too warm at night, air-con did not work
Nothing Too low quality for hotel 4**** and for other Golden Tulip hotels.
