Good facilities and ideal location
ideally situated, friendly atmosphere, breakfast very good, huge choice, had a birthday while there and a bottle of cava put in room not app
We liked location not far from the sea. Quiet air conditioning, comfortable room, big balcony. Pretty big hotel located on the small area, no garden, no drive way to take out of your luggage. It's difficult to fine parking lot, so the hotel should provide free parking. Some sun beds should be thrown away.
The swimming pool area no
food quality excellent and well presented lack of a comfortable bar
We have stayed at the hotel before and have always found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. The rooms are adequate and the location next to the playa and the golf course is perfect. The buffet breakfast and dinner are of a reasonable standard and excellent value for money We were staying for one night as a couple and for a further night as part of a golf society which had been booked separately. It totally confused the gentleman on reception and was only resolved when another receptionist, who spoke English, came in. I had explained it on my booking form.
everything from cleaniness to helpfullness of staff to great food would have liked activities nothing on during the day
No entertainment on the xmas eve or xmas night
Pool area and staff The quality of food offered could have been better but there was plenty of choice.
Intresting designed hotel, breakfast good,1 bedroom apartment a fair size.
Easy access to beech, shops etc Uncomfortable beds, ignorant staff (unless your Spanish) and scruffy dated rooms.
view from our room outstanding,cleanliness,food,2mins to the beach, location excellent
The hotel in general was excellent, access to the beach was through the back door, and it was accessable to the majority of the ameneties within the central area of Roquetas de Mar, including many bars of which some served alchohol on a 2 for 1 basis. My only complaint against the hotel was that on my initial arrival in my room I could smell stale urine. It turned out that although the usual "sanitised/cleansed label was over the toilet seat, someone had used the toilet previously and not flushed it. The maids should have picked this up, when cleaning. Apart from that, I could not, and will not fault the hotel ! ! !
Useful as a base to explore the area of Almaria, Sierra Nevada, and Granada. Although the week was booked as Half-Board, we actually avoided meals a number of times, evening especially, and went elsewhere. Some of the food left a lot to be desired, and unless, like a lot of the older generation did, you formed a queue to wait for opening times to get the early portions when fresh it was not worth bothering with generally!
Lot' s of walking, taken the local buses to different places, and relaxed and chilled out no no complaints
The hotel is located in a busy hotel area south of Roquetas. Swimming pool was good, the backdoor of the hotel is direct on the beach. We were here in october, but still there was an animation program. Near the hotel all kinds of shops and restaurants. Breakfast was good, we didn't use restaurant facilities in the hotel itself. The rooms are spacious and well equiped. We had no complaints during our stay.
The rooms were well appointed with plenty storage and quality fittings, spacious and very comfortable. The food was very disappointing for a 4* rated hotel mostly catering for german/dutch visitors. We were looking forward to spanish cuisine in a spanish hotel....
the pool and spa areas are nice! the food was not great, in fact, my boyfriend felt a bit sick one night after dinner in the hotel. when we arrived at the hotel, the shower wasn't working and we had a bit of trouble getting someone up to the room to fix it. we requested a room with a double bed, and were told this wasn't possible. its expensive for a very basic room with 2 single beds pushed together. its the equivalent of jurys, more like a 3* than a 5*. staff weren't very friendly.
excellent facilities nice rooms with good sea views no public smoking areas
Comfort, scenery, breakfast, pool, access to beach
Hotel -gogd location, close to the beach, has loads of potential (but falls short in lots of little ways) Food was awful - little variety , poor quiality and presentation, Hotel didn`t appear fully open (founatins not on etc), internet is expensive (the 4 star next door is free), pool area lovely but no atmosphere (no towels provided)
Staff were not very helpful, it was clean and tidy but empty, not all advertised services available such as beauty clinic and WIFInot available as adverstised, the hotel was a few days from shutting down, this sadly was not made clear, very disssapointed as above
Good location in front of train/bus station. Very close to supermarket and city centre. Friendly and helpful staffs. Breakfast did not match the price.
Good central location, pleasant staff whose language skills made our stay easier.
Good hotel and a very enjoyable stay where the staff were very good and most helpful.
Staff were very pleasant and helpful. All spoke excellent English. The hotel is very quiet and centrally located directly opposite the Almeria train station. The room was a good size with attractive, modern decor and very comfortable beds. Although the hotel seems to have been recently updated, our room was showing signs of wear. Our bathroom sink was cracked, some of the furniture was scratched or dented, and one framed picture had dislodged from the matte and and fallen to the bottom of the frame!
Courteous staff. Bright and airy reception area. Beautiful room with really comfortable beds and great bathroom. Nothing, it was really excellent.
The food was great and the room quite large. Communication in English was limited to the receptionist at the hotel. The rest of the staff could not communicate well in English.

The hotel was very convenient for the Station which is what we wanted. The Reception staff were excellent, and the rooms and lounge areas very stylish. I felt the tolietries offered were very basic and also the "free coffee" before 7.00 a.m. appeared to stop a little earlier.
Location, near bus and rail links.Excellent buffet breakfast.Clean, tidy and good size rooms.Friendly and helpful staff. No tea or coffee making facilities in the rooms.
Clean - quiet - space - well loctated within walking distance from center Not even light in the room - it is in many hotels - the only place where you really have light in the bathroom !!!
Friendly staff. Shabby and not much worked in the bedroom - (hairdryer, aircon poor) and the shower was lousy
Clean, comfortable hotel right on the beach, although a little far from nightlife
views from the room breakfast and dinner
Front line with seawievs, best possible location, walking disstance to nice restaurants and shops. Pretty pool area almost on the beach. Friendly staff, very goog place with children. Breakfast ends at 10.00, too early for me in Sunday morning..
Clkoseness to beach and the pool. Breakfast was good. Internet access was not available. Pool opening hours (10:00 to 20:00) were too short for August.
This has been my third stay at Don Angel and everything was excellent as usual.
This hotel is mainly for Spanish residents, but the staff are very friendly towards foreigners. Very comfortable and in a good situation, on the edge of the sea! We will always stay here when visiting this area.
Coffee on the terrace This is a very "spanish" hotel. It was not obvious that the reception and other key staff spoke any english. This was not a problem for me - I speak spanish - but might be for non-spanish speakers. TV channels all spanish.
Very quiet & relaxing. Did not have Tea/Coffee facility in rooms.
Pool area was nice but sun beds were dirty with bird poo did not like anything about this hotel, how on earth did it get a four star rating? I will never know. Our room was supposed to be air conditioned, the air conditioner was not working the room was as hot as an oven, tried phoning reception because of heat and also we were inundated with ants in the room we could not get a reply. The hotel did have a luxury foyer but that was all the rooms were shabby needed updating
the food was better than last years. It's a quite hotel We choosed,as we dis several times before for the "romantic offer" Each time we got a big room and 2 large beds. Now the gave us a single room (confirmed by inside people) and 1 small bed.Asking for another room/bed reception told us there were no other rooms (while the hotel was empty). If we payed 18 euro/night they could give us another room. One piece of soap for one week is not adequate.Hotel is understaffed. We always payed cash for our drinks (at dinner) but still they charged us 3 times on our bill.We advise the hotel management to read the reviews on their hotel because we find it's getting worse each year we stay in Capricho.Don't think we go back!
light airy clean room and a good nights sleep A little shabby and worn in places considering the price, more like 3 star than 4.
Excellent location for the local beach, bars, and restaurants. The staff were very courteous and deserve a lot of praise for all their hard work, that they obviously put in.
Typical **** hotel, much like the other Playa hotels. Comfortable, nice location and pleasant and efficient hotel staff. The pool looked nice, but the weather was rather fresh (it was end February); there is also a small indoor pool.
good location, good hotel, very pleasant staff.
Everyone was friendly and helpful. There was a good mix of nationalities.
The variety and quality of the food. The ease of entry and checking at in at mealtimes. The restaurant staff, though busy, took the time and trouble to help one. The reception staff spoke English, even though I speak Spanish fairly well. Steps to the bar, as I have difficulty with steps and steep ramps.
Relaxation only one english tv channel germans had eight
the hotel is in a great location, just in the city center and a short walk from restautrants, bars, and shops The only thing missing is a parking lot big enough for all the clients, we had to pay our own parking at the near pubblic garage
very helpfull, especially the reception staff
Very helpful staff. The hotel car park was invaluable. You need a sat nav to navigate the locate the hotel in the maze of narrow one way streets.
free wi-fi in around the lobby area; great location and only a 10/15 walk to the beach
Central location, secure parking available at 10 euros per night.
Central location close to all facilities. Spacious room with plenty of storage space. Lively bar/cafeteria on premises. The hotel is located in a small square and any sounds outside tend to be amplified. This meant that the room was sometimes very noisy in the early hours, unless you kept the window shut all the time.
Cheap rooms and good location in the heart of the city, close to shopping and some restaurants. Nothing memorable, but decent choice to spend a night. Rooms seemed a bit "worn" and not as clean as they could be. Bathroom fixtures leaked.
The location was convenient to the old town.
Location Very Noisy young guests on the same floor.
best hotel ive stayed in alemeria fantasic pool right on the beach as wellfood very good a bit the same though only thing realy was the caged birds in entrance hall
Very nice hotel, very large and spectular pool. Evening set and light on the hotel was very impressing. The room were smelly - probably Chlorin.
It was my holiday, so i tried to enjoy everything. They don't have Mojito, Cosmopolitan and Sex on the beach coctails in the bar.
Except the proximity to the beach and understanding of the management for our dissapointment norhing corresponds to what we've seen before booking. The room we've been put into was from the late 80's, sun beds around the pool have been "reserved" from 9 am, glasses & dishes in the restaurant were dirty.
The Hotel was in a great location,. but we where given one of the worse rooms tucked in a corner with no sun.. The Bar prices where to high
Very little, only some of the reccepcion staff (Mª Jose) and the reccepcion area was confortable to sit, have a drink and smoke..! Most of it, the worst was the food and the room.
The swimming pool, proximity to the beach, other children for my son to play with and the evening entertainment. Very poor quality hotel, dirty carpets, lots of items either missing or broken in the room, staff rude and unhelpful. Even the junior suite was very basic. Breakfast buffet was chaos and food poor quality. No service at all at breakfast. Very poor value for money.
Entertainment was to loud every night, could not get to sleep before midnight. I would only rate this hotel as a 3 star, bathrooms not very clean, shower broken, and rooms very small As above
This hotel had a great family feel to it - it was perfect for a short break but as a non spanish speaker would have been difficult for a longer stay
location,style, staff and price
The swimming pool was not clean on certain days.
Nice and confortable hotel. There is no internet in the room as stated in the description. The hotel management deliberately puts incorrect information in the description. That's mad!
It was very easy to find, in a central location. The staff were efficient and friendly, providing us with information, maps etc All aspects of our stay at the hotel were fine
Parking in premises. Minibar free (ie included) The hotel floors are a labyrinth and the walls are paper-thin. Gym machines are old and many are broken. Expensive
Good location. Clean room. Good bathroom. Swimming pool was closed (season?). Breakfast mediocre ((cold coffee).
Feria, bullfights, drinks at the kiosco,Asador restaurant, staff helpful
The room was quiet, the bathroom large, the shower powerful and the dozens of tapas bars and restaurants in the narrow side streets around the hotel. Just a short 15 minute walk from Alcazaba. Driving and parking in Almeria is a nightmare, take a taxi from the airport. The hotel's map is unreadable, get one from the tourist office. We chose this hotel for the pool but it was closed for the winter.
Hotel communal areas - very good, good facilities, super location hotel room furniture and bedding dated, towel clean but old
Location and good transportation Nothing
excellent choice of food none
pool and gardens were excellent with plenty of sunbeds, kep very clean smoking areas very good the beds very hard
Easey check in friendly staff have stayed here before and if the price stayed the same for solo person,s like myself, I would have no hesitation in booking with you again I do usualey go winter periods for price many thanks for your help E.G.venis.
very pleasant staff cleanliness is of a very high standard, a home from home food excellent could not fault the hotel in any way good sized roms and apartments stayed here twice now would recommend
I am a regular guest of Group Playa Hotels and Playa VIP member...I appreciate very much this chain of Hotels , and wish they could open up hotels in the rest of Europe.
food was not up to standard also not much information and entertainment poor
Breakfast was excellent as was it's location to the beach. I would strongly recommend visiting this hotel outside of school holidays if you want a relaxing break. Far too many screaming loud kids running amok around the hotel un-checked. Also fighting and playing ball in the labelled adult only outdoor jacuzzis. As a result of this we left three days early as we could not relax.
A wonderful hotel. The staff went out of their way to ensure that we had everything we needed. The bottle of champagne on my birthday was truy unexpected and a delicious surpise.
the food was of a good standard and was warmer than in most self service buffet style restaurants -the hotel was situated in a quieter location south of the main resort
The accomodation (small apartment) Pooly organised reception
The hotel is confirming the information I got before booking. Location is oke, it's clean and safe. A good family hotel. Beach is clean. Service is oké and in the restaurant is the service good as even the food. The design is concentrate on massa tourism but oke. As single person it was a little bit noisy because of the many children wich where walking around. A beach service for drinks should be welcome even as a key wich is working at the beach gate door. The key didn't work and the pool babe didn't want to open this...even not when requested. She doesn't see anything, was playing the sleeping walker how doesn't matter about anything, even not when people are standing on a closed door, asking her because couldn't come inn...but she didn't understand it at all and was absolutely not willing to do that. I missed a fitness location. The employees at the reception desk are working hard and are friendly for the routine standard things, some more information should be welcome.
very good..not my first stay and will definitely not be the last
This hotel is located in a busy hotell area behind a very industrieal looking part of the country it has a nice pool. this hotel is to busy and the service is terrible the hoetel is run down and overpriced.
Most of the staff were very friendly No fridge in the room and the air condition wasn't very good during my stay.
rooms were clean staff reasonable friendly hard to find hotel not on navigator thought it was near sea with view could not see the sea not up to standard of other 4 star hotels we have stayed food was only buffet
Friendly and helpful receptionist, ample free parking. We did not eat at the hotel so cannot comment.
No mini bar, no way of keeping water cold and fresh, meals spoilt by children allowed to run around dinning room
No tea and coffee in the rooms.
Good food, clean rooms, friendly staff. I felt they could have done with tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Room service was very expensive.
Lots of glass that needs cleaning including the lifts. Even the drinking glasses in the bar were dirty. The restaurant needs re-thinking. On arrival the poor greeting reflects the entire hotel...miserable ! This hotel needs a new star rating from 4 to 2 at best !
No towels in room. Dustbin in bathroom still full from previous person. Food cold. Difficult to find.
Service, good food, and plenty of places to sit outside. The entertainment was a bit boring. Could have had more variety
Liked the facilities expecially Spa and also the close proximity to the Beach was fantastic. Staff had very little English. Entertainment was totally for Spanish Guests as none Spanish Guests were not taken into consideration. I am aware that it was mainly Spanish families that were staying but there were also a lot of English and like ourselves Irish guests present. Would be better if Entertainers could rember the not all of their guests are Spanish speaking.
The pool area was fab! With the beach on my doorstep... The rooms were extremely small...no space! was very disappointed for a 4star standard...
good and well heated swimming pool. Excellent location. right on the beach and by nice pavement style restaurants/cafes. Also there were some beach cafes/restaurnts from which it was possible to eat drink and have great view of sea. Buffet style breakfast was excellent with massive choice. Great view from balcony. Too busy around the pool. Noise of entertainment could be too intrusive round the pool.
location beside the sea, easy access to restaurants in immediate area, everything within walking distance, very clean hotel, staff very helpful, we upgraded to large family room with ease
A good 4 star hotel with excellent access to promenade and shops/restaurants Nothing, I am disabled and found everything accessible
Did not like the fact that the children were only allowed in the indoor pool for an hour and a half each day. The weather became colder during our stay and they were unable to use the outdoor pools but I had chosen the hotel for its indoor pool and found it mainly unusable for the children. The hotel was unprepared to relax this rule even though there were very few guests staying.
Excellent food choice. Great value for money.
Good service, we found the staff very helpful and friendly. The swimming pool and outdoor hot tub were excellent.
Good environment, attentive stafff and near all resort facilities
Staff were very helpful, rooms were lovely and very spacious. Not much public transport near the hotel. Had to use taxis alot of the time-though they were only a 5-10 mins ride to most places.
The reception staff was really helpfull and nice, specially the man at our arrival in the night, always smiling!
Damp / smelly room.
Friendly and very helpful staff. Parking facilities were excellent, being attached to the hotel by elevators. Bar prices were rather expensive.
Good value , clean and smart. Quiet location for a single night stop over. Would stay again. No much English spken so phrase book came in useful. A little too far away from main areas.
The room was comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful. A little bit out of the centre.
New comfortable hotel, lots of free public parking around, but you have to unload your luggage while being double parked on an intersection. Big mall nearby with food court. Extremely polite receptionist. Easy to find hotel by car (lots of signs and on big road) but not very near centre. Good hotel when you're by car. Excellent price/quality ratio. Not near centre, but by car only 10 minutes. No pool.
service and cleanliness excellent The hotel sign on approach could be much clearer passed twice only spotted on coming up the main road
New hotel with clean rooms and modern finishes. Views of the mountains surrounding Almeria. Across the street from Mediterraneo Centro Comercial mall. Hotel is far from the city center. Parking in hotel garage is expensive add-on.
The friendly staff, particularly the young lady in the bar/resturant
quiet, clean, excellent staff, gourmet dining not walking distance from town centre - however public bus stop nearby
Most things I thought food in room service was poor.A fancy omelette was just eggs and nothing else. There was also no decaffinated coffee packets available
Good clean rooms and excellent location. Food menu not in English and no English speaking waiters
Nice, clean room, modern throughout, wifi connection Bit noisy in the morning (traffic)
15 minute drive to airport, easy walk to city centre, quiet rooms, polite & helpful staff
Very poor breakfast for a 4 star hotel. One night we had dinner and the staff didn't know if we had to pay it or not.In my opipnion it is not a 4 star hotel. Breakfast and they have to train better their staff.
The breakfast was not as good as I was expecting, and the coffee was left in containers getting cold, not in a percolator. i would recommend hotel but not the breakfast
Nice room, quiet and clean. Easy to park. nothing
facilities all very good
A beautiful traditional Spanish hotel - breath-taking interior decoration - mirrors, tiling, wood carving & planting. Not your 'could be anywhere' 4*. Lovely indoor pool - I'm sure that disabled access must be available through the 'show cooking' area. Excellent breakfast. Different dinner buffet every night. The romantic 4 day break was outstanding value. Ask for a 2nd floor room - sunrise & beautiful views out across the Med. We found it best to go for an early dinner [6.30 - 7.00pm] - there was a tendency to bulk cook 'show cooking' early & then re-cook later! Not sure if that was a lazy cook or hotel policy but it effectively ruined fresh griddled meat & fish. Plenty of other choice, with a microwave if you prefer your food piping hot. Bathroom & bedroom furnishings a little tired, but still beautiful.
Well situated hotel with good facilities and spacious public areas. The buffet-style food is truly appalling (poor quality and frequently cold). The inddor swimming pool reeks of a smell of "drains". Don't be tempted to stay here by the attractively low winter rates.
The kids loved the pool area and chess board and unfortunately we only stayed for a few nights, we had wished that it was a little longer
good breafast, close from the beach, good value for money standard of the room more correspond 3 star and not 4 star hotel
The pool facilities coupled with the weather The hotel is begining to look careworn and comparing the general facilities and condition compared to four years ago the economies are becoming obvious, particularly in the quality of the meals
Not alot The Bats living in the walls
the hotel was very nice but it was no good for people with walking problems it had a lot of stairs to go up and down to reach the beach you have to to go to the bottom and there was no lift to take you there the lift only went part way. you could go out the back way but it was a walk and for people like my wife this very hard. the pool was down a very long corridor so that was no good to her. if you are able bodied it would be no problem. the food was very poor for a 4star hotel.
i got a deal on a room from 215 euros to 65 euros and im afraid i thought 65 was too much for the room and breakfast, the breakfast was poor, the room was not of the quality it should of been for 215 euros and i felt cheated, but i enjoyed my stay, staff were nice and location was good, i think they made a mistake with the room ,
