We had the twin room on the first floor looking out to the church which was a very pleasant view. The room was clean and comfortable and had everything that needs for a short stay. The guesthouse is in a very good location in a quiet side road just off the high street. Very convenient for restaurants and drinks and shops. It's also short walk to the river and other walks. Pros: The hotel is in a I lovely setting on the side of a hill with great views across the valley and close to the town centre. Close to the church and the historic Prospect Park. Our room was on the second floor (no lifts) but OK for us. Room and facilities were fine. The restaurant was good, pub style food, but good choice. The hotel has a long veranda next to the bar (so plenty of room) and excellent views. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Large car park but can get quit full at times. All in all a very enjoyable stay.
Cons: We were happy with our stay
8.3 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We booked a larger room as were staying 3 nights the room was lovely old furniture a big comfy bed lots of lighting and two comfy seats with a table to view TV and enjoy a quiet glass of wine. Very quiet and peaceful lovely old building even with no double glazing due to graded building the noise from outside was minimal. The view over the river was great we had The Marchioness room. Breakfast was lovely and plentyful I enjoyed the porridge one morning large portions. Room was clean and optional cleaning made it possible to sleep late if required also im a great believer in keeping house keeping to a minimun not needing to change towels daily or have room service but they left out fresh water and other essentials outside our door which I liked. The hotel is just next to the town centre a mere walk away from all the Ross on Wye has to offer the staff were all lovely and very helpful all in all I would reccomend this hotel a very enjoyable stay we would return. Near to a lot of attractions most enjoyable was the Bird of prey centre a fabulous day out and experience.
Cons: Parking a bit tight but still got parked.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Good food Comfortable bed ,very helpful staff Clean room Lovely views
Cons: Hot pipe ran through room making it too warm
7.5 Good
Pros: Staff was very friendly and polite. Room had a wonderful view. quick check in after a long journey.
Cons: There is no comfortable place to sit and relax in the evening to have a drink. Seems to concentrate more on walk in customers then guests. No lifts to high level rooms, food ok but could be better.
6.3 Good
Pros: Location is good, in the centre of the town. Free car parking. Breakfast so ok, nothing special. Staff we all very helpful.
Cons: We had a great deal on a one night stay but we got what we paid for! Room was dated and the bed was very small, didn’t sleep very well.

Pros: The location and scenery from this hotel is absolutely stunning, and the staff are all lovely and very friendly and helpful.
Cons: The mattress on the bed felt like it could just do with turning.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was plentiful and excellent, room was very comfortable with fabulous view of the river Wye and surrounding hills and valley. Dinner is served promptly and although mostly local produce, this to us was a big plus and was well prepared and presented. Staff were helpful and attentive when needed, and were only too glad to help all the other guests when they wanted any local information. All in all a very good choice, but then we would have to say that, since this is not the first time we have stayed at the Ferrie and hopefully will not be the last.
Cons: Driving on the A40 can be horrendous as many of the drivers treat it like a racetrack and seem to have little concept of their speed in relation to the contours and exits/entrances of this road.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: fantastic location and fabulous staff!!!
Cons: Nothing

9.6 Excellent
Pros: It was a very friendly place to stay. The staff were very cheerful and helpful. Our room was lovely. Dinner was delicious and the full english breakfast was really full. It set me up for the day. Our room had a great view of the River Wye. We enjoyed a drink outside watching the wild land river float by.
Cons: There was some noise below our room from the kitchen area, but you have to expect this when you stay in a Inn, plus the noise stopped about 11ish.
9.5 Excellent
Cons: Breakfast excellent. Shower good.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely location ,lovely staff would deffinately stay again ! just in another room

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The position was magical right on the river and really peaceful at night. The staff could not have been more helpful and indeed went above and beyond to ensure we all had a perfect stay and also seemed to enjoy their work. The room was just lovely - overlooking the river, well equipped with a variety of teas and coffees and bright and fresh decor. The bed was cosy.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Stunning location with a great view from the room we stayed in, which was the Bridal Suite. Excellent value for money for the size, style and comfort of the room. Breakfast was great - plenty of selection and included in the price too so even more value for money.
Cons: It could be a bit confusing to find as it is advertised as Brooks but the road signs are for something different. That said my SatNav got me there easily enough from the direction I came in.
6.3 Good
Cons: Everything
6.7 Good
Pros: Location & setting
Cons: Plumbing in another too woke me up at 6. Quite a few of our party stayed but bar closed at 11. Came down for breakfast at 7.15am as we all needed to leave at 8am but breakfast did not start until 8am. The lady really did her best and set out a continental, we did manage to get a hot breakfast for just after 8. Not told this at check in.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff. Wonderful views from the house. Slightly shabby-chic country house ambiance. Good breakfasts and dinners.
5.7 Okay
Pros: The food was excellent and we particularly liked the buffet breakfast which was different to the last time we stayed there. The lady in reception/ bar/ waitressing was excellent even though she appeared to be doing 3 jobs.
Cons: The room was cold. I appreciate it was -6 deg outside but ...Thankfully we had an electric heater in the bathroom.

Cons:
3.2 Mediocre
Pros: Breakfast was good
Cons: Hotel quite derelict. Facilities in the room poor. Couldn't find the swimming pool. Have stayed in much better B&Bs at a quarter the price. On the basis of the state of the room we decided to eat in a local pub rather than in the hotel so cannot comment on quality of food. Breakfast was good but very limited in what was offered.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff were friendly, helpful and chatty. Location for our needs ....perfect
Cons: Internet connection was poor, we needed it for work.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Flexible about breakfast times, they made an early breakfast for me when I had to leave early. Really good value for money; cheaper than almost all other places I looked but it didn't feel cheap at all. Nice room.
Cons: Lingering, oily cooking smells from the kitchen in the lobby. Not terribly strong but doesn't create a great first impression. No bad smell in the rooms though! Coffee could have been stronger!
4.6 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: The bath trim was black and needed attention. There wasn’t a shower!!! This is 2019. The sink was chipped. The room was small and poorly decorated and maintained. The frontage of the hotel was in need of attention.
6.3 Good
Pros: There isn't much to recommend this hotel, but it's not bad, just a little tired. I only booked the day before and it was a summer weekend, so options were limited. It was satisfactory but no better than that. The short walk into the centre of Ross-on-Wye along the riverbank would probably have been pleasant in better weather.
Cons: I had a room at the top of the building, which was a struggle to get to/from with baggage given the narrowness of the stairs and a very heavy fire door, even in comparison to other pub hotels. The restaurant dinner menu was limited and unappealing (my schedule didn't allow me to try the breakfast). The single room was cramped and had several cobwebs.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely place and lovely people. Really nice wholesome food, huge portions. Comfortable bed. Lovely walk across the river to Ross.

7.9 Good
Pros: The hotel is in a nice location within the Wye Valley and was an ideal spot for us to use to explore local landmarks and walks in fantastic woodland. There are also a few small attractions nearby as well as the river itself. Breakfast was pleasant and well-cooked with a good choice.
Cons: While the room was clean, it was quite compact. Elements such as the fitted cupboards surrounding the bed, while providing a little storage space, took up a fair amount of room and the proprietors may consider removing these in their next upgrade. Carpet and soft furnishings are beginning to look a little tired.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast very good .evening meal average and expensive
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was really lovely , it was set in an idyllic spot , especially if you enjoy the countryside , but close enough if you wanted to go to Cardiff or Gloucester as we did . The staff were all friendly , and helpful . Breakfast was good , and we had a meal there which was good and not expensive for a hotel , (you can book for the restaurant for an A la Carte menu as well ) Our room was lovely , (I loved the fact it was not all level floored , what you would expect of an old building and if your tall you would need to mind the ceiling fan ) . The rooms were quiet considering ours was above the bar and the bed really comfy . You can either stay in the main building or they also have self catering units as well , so cater for all . Really enjoyed our stay .
Cons: It would have been nice to have a bit more interaction with the reception staff , for example them asking what your here for and then them giving you a few pointers as to what's around to suit your needs . But that's just something I particularly like when I go to a hotel etc .
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic Tudor building which ouzes character. Staff were really helpful and welcoming. Food wasn't too bad either
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location, accommodation, food.
Cons: Staff had very clear responsibilities from which they would not deviate
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Friendly and helpful staff at reception and in restaurant. Good breakfast and very good meal in dining room. Good location and ease of parking.
Cons: Disappointing meal in bar. Rather limited space in bedroom.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The space throughout the hotel.
Cons: The room we had , could do with shower curtains.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Good location. Friendly staff
Cons: Gotta love squeaky floors in old buildings....
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Liked the Tudor part of the hotel although our room was in the 1970's extension. Breakfast was served in the Tudor dining room. Good choice of breakfast and tasty. South facing garden out the back. Patio doors from our room with a small balcony to sit outside in the sun.
Cons: The Dining Room was out of action on the night we stayed so we had no choice but to use the bar menu and eat in the conservatory. The sound proofing in the extension room needs improving.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was cooked fresh and varied choice.
Cons: Nothing
